Okay so that tweet has been sent to me a number of times since yesterday, but I had no fucking idea what she was referring to so I did not know what to post about it.President Trump has freed so many children held in bondage to pimps all over this world. Hundreds each month. He has broken up trafficking rings in high places everywhere. notice that. I disagree on some things, but give him benefit of doubt-4 now.— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) March 31, 2018
Well now I know.
Courtesy of Newsweek:
The tweet seems to allude to a conspiracy theory known as The Storm, which emerged after Trump quipped at a photo op last October about it being “the calm before the storm.”
Those who believe in the theory allege that cabals of high-ranking Democrats run child sex rings attended by celebrities, which Trump is breaking up.
QAnon refers to a user of internet messaging board 4Chan, who claims to be a White House official with secret knowledge of the investigation into the sex trafficking ring.
“QAnon believers are convinced that the world is run by a nefarious deep state cabal of Democrats, celebrities, and intelligence community figures (many of whom, they claim, are pedophiles),” writes blogger Will Sommer, who monitors right-wing media, on Mediate.
“Trump is about to take them all down, in their telling, often with sealed indictments that are hidden from the public. Hence Barr’s tweets about massive pedophile networks.”
Jesus.....H......Christ!
I mean seriously, what are these people huffing that makes this kind of bullshit seem even remotely plausible?
Now of course the only reason that this crazy lady's tweets are even relevant right now is because ABC has decided to raise a zombiefied version of her old sitcom. And now the newly resurrected program seems hell bent on making Donald Trump palatable to the average American.
Now I will admit that back in the day I watched "Roseanne" and I even liked it at the time.
However in my defense I don't think I realized that she was out of her ever loving mind.
But I have NO intention of watching this reboot, and it is not because I do not have a lot of love for John Goodman, Laurie Metcalfe, and Sara Gilbert, because believe me I do.
But I would not even talk to my own mother if I found out she voted for, or supported, Donald Trump.
And this is not a partisan issue, this is an issue of having respect for somebody even as a fellow human being.
Donald Trump is the most rancid piece of shit to ever run for political office, so it is simply impossible for me to understand how any sentient being could have convinced themselves to cast a vote which allowed him to occupy the most important office in the country, if not in the world.
Some things are unforgivable, and that is one of them.
Even some of the folks at ABC are starting to have second thoughts.
Gee, ya think? In the wake of my Roseanne article I've been contacted by multiple people at ABC who've told me there's a real discomfort among many of the employees with the propagandist nature of the reboot and a feeling that the project is meant to monetize Trump's base.
— Jared Yates Sexton (@JYSexton) March 31, 2018
I knew she was out of her fucking mind when she sang the national anthem in that godawful tone. Cripes! My ears are still ringing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she is one of those crazies that promote conspiracy theories. I commented on boycotting her show because once you give life to these assholes they just hit the ground running. And right now in the internet world people are grasping and they will believe anything.
No one gives a fig about good solid truth anymore. The more sensational, the better.
I contacted ABC because of Roseanne spreading the lie about the Parkland student making the NAZI salute. She is suppose to be an adult and she is bullying a teenager.
ReplyDeleteAlso she made the rounds of the talk shows giving the impression the reboot show was her idea, the truth is it was Sara Gilbert's,so not only does she flap her big mouth, but she is a liar too.
That just makes her a Republican. Nothing new there.
DeleteThe sheer amount of self-delusion and mental gymnastics it must take to buy into these pro-Trump mega-conspiracies that are solely meant to twist reality until it breaks, and are thus giant and jaw-droppingly nonsensical, has to be exhausting.

The New Roseanne Ignores the Very Real Racism of Many White Working-Class Families
https://www.elle.com/culture/career-politics/a19642681/new-roseanne-working-class-racism/
I suspect after the initial curiosity her so-called "great ratings" are going to head straight for the toilet.
ReplyDeleteProbably why their first "season" is only 9 episodes.
DeleteScary truth
ReplyDelete'Already the absurdity and fascism of the Trump Administration is becoming normalized. Over time, this will become the new normal, and all it takes for this machine to continue working is for apathy to become the default mode of existence.'

I don't like Roseanne nor do I like Sara Gilbert, who took the last name of her mother's first husband so that she could gain fame off of Melissa Gilbert's name.
ReplyDeleteShe started acting at 6. I doubt she had much say about a name change.
DeleteYou think she would have been as successful as Sara Abeles?
DeleteSince her two older siblings are named Gilbert I don't see a problem with name change. It's more marketable. Plus, it was't really her decision. Her parents changed it for career purposes. She was 13 when she started Roseanne.
I think Tony Curtis went a lot farther as an actor than Bernie Schwarz every would have gone.
So pretty much a big, fat nothingburger.
Do you hate Melissa Gilbert too? For breaking up Bruce Boxleitner's marriage?
I missed the reboot, was going to watch it on HULU but after hearing Trumps praise of the show; I’ll take a hard pass now, thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't miss anything and i only watched it during NCIS commercials.
DeleteDoes anyone remember how Rosanne accused her parents of abuse years ago? He sisters all came out and said nothing of the sort happened. Then the story sort of dropped.
ReplyDeleteI remember. It was in vogue at the time to have your memory 'regressed' and you'd suddenly recall being molested by your parents. It was basically found to be bullshit. Roseanne jumped on that bandwagon. She was so obviously lying, it turned my stomach and I had been a Roseanne fan.
DeleteI have a sister who swears she was abused by our dad-we slept four girls in a room-I don't think so!!
DeleteAnd Roseanne was kit by a car at age 16 and suffered a traumatic brain injury that landed her in a mental hospital for a year, during which time she had a child. The woman is not all there and never has been.
The reality is that if he did know about a child sex ring, trump would more likely want to join in. Hi, he raped a minor.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I admire about her is she openly talks about her mental illness. The stigmas need to end there.
ReplyDeleteShe also knows the business she works in.
And hollywood absolutely hides a lot, which is why I cannot take ONE political opinion from a celebrity seriously. Look at what they don't hide: cocaine parties and orgies. (whatever floats your boat, no judgment)
I guarantee Harvey Weinstein has many prominent names in his company. I briefly worked in public relations for a major film company. Shit is deep.
True that, but cast couldn’t wait to sign back on, now could they? Anything for a buck!
DeleteI didn’t see Oprah’s movie “Wrinkle In Time,” I quit watching Ellen, who seriously watches awards shows, these people are so full of themselves. GAG.
5:08 PM - No awards shows here either. The awards are for those who struggle every day of their lives to make shit happen. Any money she puts forth on her show is from a sponsor.
DeleteThe stigmas could end there, if she wasn't exhibiting the untreated crazy now. And in a very public way. She's delusional, she's paranoid, and teh danger is that ABC has given her a platform to spread this QANon crap. 4 cHAN? yeah, that's batshit crazy.
DeleteDo you have a fucking clue about the differnce between consensual sex between adults and most any other kind?
DeleteT.Rump frequented (often) Studio 54 back in teh day - tons of photos of him and Ivana there. It was one huge sex orgy/cocaine party. He boasted of grabbing women by the pussy - you think he didn't particpate then? What does 2+2 add up to in your world, 4:38?
Two words; Jade Helm ..
ReplyDeleteWho is Jade Helm?
DeleteSounds like another one of Trump's porn whores.
Deletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jade_Helm_15_conspiracy_theories
DeleteJust more of the same. Desperately, miserable person trying to stay validated by television ratings. Not my problem. But I do think all these DJT supporters will be backtracking like hell when he gets arrested. And he will. As will many others on both sides of the aisle. Fuck traitors.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, @ 4:32, he violently raped a minor and FVEY has the receipts. Enjoy your cell @ ADX Florence, DJT. It's coming.
GeorgiaPeach
I think you are very wrong about Trump supporters backtracking when he's arrested. You are endowing them with rationality and they will never have that.
DeleteI believe they will riot, attack anyone against Trump and press for civil war.
I'm with 6:11 - no matter how T.Rump leaves office they will claim it was a plot. If he leaves office in a body bag after a heart attack - perfectly expected and normal for a 70 year old obese man who eats fast food and other crap, you'll hear every Breitfart murder theory resurrected. If he resigns, it'll be he was forced. If he's impeached and tried and jailed - it'll be another conspiracy. If he actaually makes it to t second term and has to leave in the third term limits will become a conspiracy.
DeleteIt also may be an attempt to further demonize the Democratic party so the Republican party can reign unchallenged. The republican party lately has been playing real dirty and as usual the democrats are walking around believing everyone is playing fair and square. Until the crazies start chanting lock her up. Now without proof there is a cult out there that believe little old lady Hillary Clinton is into kids, and is corrupt. It's the new politics to demonize what may be good, and to normalize the likes of Trump, Rosanne, and Putin. Oh, and Sarah. Must be a things that sprang from church sermons.
ReplyDeletewake up. no democrat believes in fair and square-we know the truth and we have known it for a long time. it is a long held belief of mine that the republicans are trying to make a "slave class". people who will work for a pittance just to have a job. and our kids and environment have never been safe from republicans. the wealthy are the biggest criminals of all.
Delete^ You are more powerful in numbers. Don't forget that. You will take down the wealthy because of it. ;)
DeleteI'm not going to watch her new show either! She's nuts! And, a supporter of Trump! OMG!
ReplyDeleteThink her show is going to be in big trouble!
I also am hoping that the viewing audience drops off drastically, but unfortunately it’s already been picked up for a second season. Maybe as she goes bonkers with disgusting comments, people will complain & advertising will drop off.
ReplyDeleteAfter one episode. WOW.
DeleteShows the mentality of this country and Hollywood.
"Life's A Tripp" only lasted two seasons.
DeleteWe can only hope.
Tripp was one season.
DeleteBristol Palin and Sarah Palin were both canned after one season. Bristol's show was so bad that it was screened in double episodes just to make it go away faster. I guess all the child abuse embarrassed them but it didn't embarrass Bristol Palin, she is still playing who's-your-daddy with all of her kids (thank God Tripp at least has a stable home and family with Levi- and it won't be long until Tripp can elect to live back at home in Alaska and not where his mother's first ex-husband wants him to live.
DeleteYou're both mistaken, Tripp was cancelled during the first season, it was half a season.
DeleteYeah, but the "season" is 9 shows. So they got another 9. That's 18. Hardly even a first whole season. Plus it could still be canceled if it tanks.
DeleteGuess the G W Bush administration amnesia applies in this matter too. I recall a guy named Gannon who got into a W H press conference too every ones surprise & after checking his background similar accusations arose about the Bush
ReplyDeleteAdmin.
Didn’t watch the first Roseanne and won’t watch the reboot. Why in the hell do they want to recycle a mediocre show in the first place?
ReplyDeleteKissing Trump's fat @ss and ABC needs some cash? I don't watch the regurgitated 'Will and Grace' either but it was a much better show than this.
DeleteNo imagination. Plus cheaper to redo a hit than to take a chance on an unknown quantity.
DeleteThey're repeating it tonight at 7pm as a lead in to American Idol.
Good luck with that. I'm going to watch the Jesus Christ Superstar reboot. At least they have a black Jesus this time. Although I will say it will be hard to beat Ted Neely.
I'm still hoping (because of Sarah Gilbert's involvement) that the Roseanne show will be secretly used to guide Trump, in spite of looney Roseanne Barr's insanity.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, the premiere showcased seniors not being able to afford their prescription drugs, bullying of transgender kids, etc.
Here's hoping they reel Trump in while pretending to be all about supporting his evil orange ass. You know...like FOX news does, except with a far more liberal agenda.
Got on youtube and watched some of the Storm conspiracy and was not too surprised that they were nuts and that the majority of them believe that Trump is a savior.
DeleteYou forgot selling your body as a surrogate to pay the bills.
DeleteBut i am sure they will be rolling in dough once those trump tax breaks kick in :)
I didn't even know that Sara Gilbert was still in Hollywood until my mom told me she was on the View. Only saw Roseanne a few times back whenever it was on, but she seemed cool, she must be a liberal, which I guess this show could use.
Delete^ yeah, cuz having a J O B is so much harder. Human mule?
Delete8:59 Sara Gilbert is on Big Bang Theory and Living Biblically, plus produces quite a bit.
DeleteJohnny Galecki will be doing a cameo as her ex-husband since he's full time on Big Bang.
This is a serious problem. Over the New Year, I met a group of people that I would have said were, on the whole, well educated and intelligent. Many of the group were "in the bubble" of the alt-right news world, adored Trump and told me about Qanon. They sincerely believe that all of the media and Hollywood and the "cabals" (has to do with Rothschilds and central banks as well as Saudi Arabia) are controlling the messages we receive. They are protecting massive satanic cults of pedophiles and baby killers. And yes, Hillary and Obama are actually evil. And Trump is a white knight that is going to save the world.
ReplyDeleteWhen I heard it, I thought at first that they were just following along with the Qanon stuff because it was like serial episodes of Twin Peaks or something. Maybe like a new version of "War of the Worlds". But one of them told me all about how at first she had such trouble believing it but that then she saw all the evidence in those Podesta emails and was sure the Democrats were pedophiles and the children of the world needed to be saved!
Now, before you write all these folks off as lunatics, I think there are some things going on that make it possible for them to believe this stuff. They have been taught to distrust the news, except from certain sources. They have been surrounded by messages which reinforce certain views. This relates very much to the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica problem, as this group (I met about 30 of them) are connected on Facebook. [I am connected to them too, in part through Facebook, but I hate FB with a passion so spend little time there, and never never never without an ad-blocker. I am also not located in the US, so possibly not really targeted? I'm not sure, but I don't think I received the indoctrination they appeared to have gotten.] I previously met a number of people from this same group in 2015 and I do not think they were like this then.
I listened to a very interesting podcast on Slate where Jacob Weisberg interviewed Timothy Snyder. He talks about how we got to where we are and has a lot of interesting insights about Russia and Trump and how the creation of tribal divisions is so intentionally destructive. Here is the link:
http://www.slate.com/articles/podcasts/trumpcast/2018/03/michael_cohen_and_the_mueller_investigation.html
(it's the one labeled "Liberal Democracy's Misplaced Faith in the Future")
You may find it well worth a listen in trying to understand how people have ended up so distrusting of each other that they cannot work together on much. It is highly destructive and we need to figure out a way to make it stop. See, they aren't wrong that there are forces at work that are working against them. The propaganda has just misdirected them. And now that they "know the truth" they are insulated against being told otherwise.
I don't know how to fix this, but it is very dangerous.
There have always been "us and them", "stupid vs. intelligent". I'm not willing to give anyone gullible enough to buy into any of this fake news crap the time of day.
DeleteMost of the deplorables are basically unable to think for themselves; they are religious, (strike 1), believe anything they read on the internet from far right sources (strike 2) and are unwilling to change their behavior and try to become more intelligent (strike 3).
History will not be kind to them. What makes me sad is that they seem to be prodigious over breeders. Stupid people seem to procreate at a higher level than smart people, hopefully we can put something in their water to slow down that process :-)
Dope - Debonaire
DeleteThe believeing anything they read on the Internet if it's far, far right enough ties into their electing T.Rump as "their bully." This is the crowd that was NEVER in. THey weren't strong and dedicated enough to be athletes, though a few may have been jocks, they didn't value intelligence enough/weren't intelligent enough to be geeks and nerds, and generally don't have a creative bone in their bodies so could never make it with the artsy crowd. They are desperate to have something that makes them "special." Jumping on a conspriacy bandwagon will do so they can think they are part of the "in crowd." Remember the mediocre in all respects girl who started that "whispered secret campaign" in high school? Yeah, these are her.
DeleteSeveral years ago Roseanne announced she was going blind. What happened with that??I think it was a pathetic cry for attention.
ReplyDeleteWhen she was a teenager her parents had her committed to a metal health facility. She obviously didn't spend enough time there.
Sarah's family should have done that. Crimeiny. :/
DeleteWe can read this like a nasty book. Whatever is said and pushed by trump and friends is exactly what they are guilty of themselves. There is already documented evidence of trump and friends doing this exact thing. A 13 yr virgin girl raped by trump and friend. Girls lured to a home in florida. His nasty friends in our countries and their sex slaves. Nasty Russian women with no morals? Remember he said that. Every thing trump accuses other people of is his own guilty conscience tweeting. Pathetic liars and con artist are bottom feeders of the swamp.
ReplyDeleteyou hit the nail on the head. democrats have their closets, but i never heard stories like raping little girls.
DeleteAnd Republicans trump like Pete too. Ewww!
DeletePee.
DeleteThe pee pond hang on to and believe every word of QAnon.
ReplyDeleteHe types a bunch of bull and those tiny hateful minds all orgasm.
They're not getting any smarter.
QAnon is the same troll that used to come here with "Palin insider" knowledge. Getting her jollies over there now. Wonder if she's convinced them that "Tristan" exists.
Delete:-)
There are several at c4palin that hang on to every Q post as well as post links...but you never see a response from some of them so even they must know it's crazy.
Delete^ haha. Crazy spots Crazier.
DeleteI believe the term is "demented old bitch" she's such a fat ass and gas been for years the arteries and the brain cells have do much plaque but up, she can't connect two thoughts and apply any logic.
ReplyDeleteYeah, why trump not hurling obscenities at her like Rosie O.
DeleteHoly F#cking Mother Of Christ On The Cross,
ReplyDeleteABC has twisted this whole "Roseanne" show into propaganda, so the deplorables feel included.
Roseanne the person is ignorant as shit, which I didn't know before. Eat shit roseanne.
I thought she's Jewish?
DeleteJesus, when roseanne goes to church to worship you - which is fucked because you are mythological NOT an idol or even a NOUN!!! - please hurl flaming shit at her fat f#cking face because she's a stupid c+nt.
ReplyDeleteroseanne was always a screeching banshee. did you think she changed? just don't watch the show.
ReplyDeleteAnd let ABC know why. Next, go after the advertisers.
DeleteIt's called social brainwashing.
ReplyDeleteRemember when trump supported child molester Roy Moore? And no GOP christian up?, And no trump voter spoke up? But wait, the democrats are secretly molesting kids? Wtf???
ReplyDeletePaul Ryan will be held against moltenous embers with a pitchfork in the afterlife for not standing up for kids.
SNL reruns made fun of it!
DeleteHere's the page to contact ABC: http://abc.go.com/feedback
ReplyDeleteTold them that all ABC shows are off in my home until they handle her conspiracy theory crap. She's going to get some innocent person hurt - and becuase they promote her show with its political overtones, ABC will share in the guilt when someone does get hurt. It was just luck that kept anyone at Comet Pizza (Pizzagate) from being hurt. This isn't funny.
Yeah, I will not watch, I did, first show. It became a propaganda show. No thanks.
ReplyDeleteI know I spelled incorrectly.
ReplyDeleteI lasted 13 minutes watching the reboot. To me, the actors all looked very uncomfortable, Rosanne was having trouble speaking around her dentures, the jokes such as they were were pathetic. The "Debbie" actress from "shameless" fit right in though--she seemed more happy to be there than Goodman, for example. I won't waste my minutes on it again.
ReplyDeleteRoseanne was in the mental hospital I worked at back in the 90s. She thought she had disassociative identity disorder. But I don't think she really did and it's a disservice to people that really have it to have some dingbat claim she had it. I think she backtracked on it later. She did get hit by a car as a teenager and had a brain injury and maybe that is partially what makes her so weird. I won't watch her stupid show. Anyone who supports Trump after seeing him in action for over a year must be mentally ill or just plain stupid. And anyone with a half a brain can see it before he even quote-unquote w o n. Thanks Putin and thanks stupid people for ruining the country in the world.
ReplyDeleteNow. Now. Not all is lost.
DeleteHang in there.
T~hi$$$ the rOOt of ALL Evil!>
ReplyDelete"Roseanne was one of three shows I loved growing up, right there with The Simpsons and Seinfeld, but what separated it from those two was that it was the first comedy where I distinctly remember something feeling different. That something was season 9nine, a bizarre middle finger to convention that had the Conners, a family that went through as many low-paying jobs as Roseanne did ugly shirts, winning the Illinois State Lottery. The prize: $108 MILLION.
~IT~ made no sense at the time, and didn’t for the next 22 episodes, until the series finale. In case you’ve forgotten:
the Conners becoming millionaires? Never happened. Everything we witnessed was Roseanne coping with the death of her husband, Dan, who we all thought survived his heart attack from a season prior. Also, Jackie’s gay and DJ turned into a serial killer, probably."
https://uproxx.com/tv/the-full-story-behind-the-terribly-weird-final-season-of-roseanne/
They'll have to do more than monetize Trump's base. There aren't enough of them to keep the show afloat.
ReplyDelete
