Anthony Weiner receives 21 months in federal prison after being convicted of sexting with a minor.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner was sentenced Monday to 21 months in federal prison for sexting with a minor. 

In addition to the prison term, Weiner also was sentenced to three years of supervised release. 

Judge Denise Cote of the Southern District of New York stated that Weiner's sentence carried more importance because of his previous political career. 

"Because of the defendant's notoriety, there is intense interest in the defendant's plea and sentence," Cote said in court. "It could make a difference in lives and is a very significant part of this sentence." 

She added, "This is a serious crime that deserves serious punishment." 

Weiner cried when the sentence was handed down.

Let's face it, this guy is scum.

Not only is he a pig, but his extracurricular activities played a large part in helping Donald Trump win the White House.

No sexting with children, would have meant no investigation, and no last minute reopening of the Hillary Clinton email case based on what was found on Weiner's laptop.

For that alone he deserves a much longer prison sentence than this. 

Yet another Fox news host stands accused of making unwanted sexual advances. Is this even news anymore?

Eric Bolling, a longtime Fox News host, sent an unsolicited photo of male genitalia via text message to at least two colleagues at Fox Business and one colleague at Fox News, a dozen sources told HuffPost. 

Recipients of the photo confirmed its contents to HuffPost, which is not revealing their identities. The women, who are Bolling’s current and former Fox colleagues, concluded the message was from him because they recognized his number from previous work-related and informal interactions. The messages were sent several years ago, on separate occasions. 

The women did not solicit the messages, which they told colleagues were deeply upsetting and offensive. One of the recipients said that when she replied to Bolling via text, telling him never to send her such photos again, he did not respond. Four people, outside of the recipients, confirmed to HuffPost they’d seen the photo, and eight others said the recipients had spoken to them about it. 

For this story, HuffPost spoke to 14 sources in and out of Fox News and Fox Business, all of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity either because they currently work at the networks and aren’t allowed to speak to members of the press without prior authorization or because they have confidentiality agreements with Fox News and its parent company 21st Century Fox.

Nothing about this surprises me in the least.

When I close my eyes and try to picture a sexual predator the first face I see is Eric Bolling's.

The guy exudes creepiness.

Of course that did not preclude him from also being a hypocrite:

James Comey claims that he is made "mildly nauseous" by the idea that he may have affected the outcome of the 2016 election.

Mr. Comey said he went public on Oct. 28 because he believed that the emails found by his agents might provide insight into Mrs. Clinton’s reasons for using a private server as secretary of state and might change the outcome of the investigation. Failing to inform Congress, Mr. Comey said, would have a required an “act of concealment.” 

“Concealment, in my view, would have been catastrophic,” he said, adding later that he knew the decision would be “disastrous for me personally.” 

What Mr. Comey viewed as concealing, Justice Department officials viewed simply as following the rules. The F.B.I. does not normally confirm ongoing investigations. Senior Justice Department officials urged him not to send a letter to Congress informing them that the bureau was examining the new emails.

I have to say that I was made more than just mildly nauseous by Comey's contention that he only had two choices before him, and that he made the one that he believed would NOT be "catastrophic."

In my opinion the truth is just the exact opposite, and that if Hillary had won, and it had been revealed that Comey kept quiet about any new evidence, it would only have added more fodder for the investigations that the Republicans were already preparing to launch once she was in the White House.

In the end it would only have resulted in some Republicans bitching about Comey on Twitter and then calling him to endlessly testify before Congress about what he learned, which they would have done if Clinton won no matter what he had said, or not said, before the election. 

After listening to Comey's testimony I came away with the sense that he has really worked hard to convince himself that he had no choice in going public, but that at some level he realizes that he fucked up.

Here was another exchange, this time with Senator Al Franken, discussing the importance of looking into Trump's financial records and tax returns to help understand why Putin chose to help him win the election.

The Minnesota Democrat laid out business relationships between Trump, his White House staff, cabinet officials, campaign advisers and Russia, and he asked whether FBI investigators had access to the president’s tax returns. 

Comey declined to say whether investigators had viewed Trump’s taxes, but he agreed that had Russia in the past exploited financial arrangements to influence politics abroad. 

“I hope people don’t over-interpret my answers, but I don’t want to start talking about anything — what we’re looking at and how,” Comey said. 

He agreed that intelligence agencies believed Russia had a clear preference for Trump, which he said was based in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s dislike for Hillary Clinton. 

“The intelligence community assessed that Putin believed he would be more able to make deals, reach agreements with someone with a business background rather than someone who had grown up in more of a government environment,” Comey said. 

He declined to say whether investigators believed Trump was vulnerable to manipulation through his business contacts with Russians, including the oligarch who purchased a Palm Beach, Florida, mansion from him a decade ago.

I thought that Franken's questions were some of the best of the hearing, and I thought that he probably touched on many of the things that the FBI are likely looking into concerning possible collusion between the Trump team and the Russians.

Other things we learned, or had reinforced, during the testimony:

• That the "thousands of emails" which were on Anthony Weiner's laptop were there because Huma Abedin sent them there to be printed off so that Hillary could review the hard copies later. 
• That initially Comey thought these might be some of mysterious "missing" 30,000 e-mails that the Republicans had made a cause celeb during their numerous investigations into Clinton. 
• The investigation into the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia is still ongoing.
• Comey said that journalists who receive classified information are not criminals, but that the folks who send them that information might be.
• Comey does not consider what Wikileaks does as legitimate journalism, and claimed they traffic in "intelligence porn."
• That the Russians are STILL interfering in American politics, and in European politics as well. 
• And Comey says that they are "the greatest threat of any nation on earth."

My take away from this hearing was that Comey is simply covering his own ass, that he was more afraid of his own agents than he was of the consequences of his interference, and that currently he is very serious about investigating Trump's ties to Russia.

That sounds like very good news for us, and not so good news for a certain tangerine colored tyrannical toddler.

Sarah Palin calls on Trump to fire FBI Director James Comey because he is too closely tied to Hillary Clinton. Wait, what?

I felt no need to visit the page and give it anymore hits to I'll let the folks at Raw Story describe what it says:  

Sarah Palin called on President Donald Trump to dump FBI Director James Comey — who she suggested was too closely tied to Hillary Clinton.

Palin linked to an article on her own website, written by Lawrence Richard and citing a dubiously sourced Sept. 10 report posted on Breitbart News that allegedly “exposed” Comey’s connection to the Clinton Foundation. 

The Breitbart report points to Comey’s previous work for organizations that donated money or formed partnerships with the Clinton family’s foundation but neglects to demonstrate any conflicts of interest in the FBI director’s investigation of the Democratic presidential candidate’s emails.

Yeah not only did Comey's so-called "conflicts of interest" seemingly have no impact on his investigation of Clinton's private server, his October 28th letter suggesting that there were potentially confidential Clinton e-mails found on Anthony Weiner's laptop is often cited as the event that cost Hillary the election.

Look I know that Sarah Palin is crazy (Trust me, perhaps NOBODY knows it as well as I do.), but she is also currently channeling what a lot of Right Wing morons are claiming as well.

Attacking Comey's integrity is the only way they can deflect from the fact that the man they chose to occupy the most important political position on the planet is currently under federal investigation for possible criminal activity and has been publicly called out as a habitual liar.

One has to wonder what lie they will tell themselves if this investigation finds that Trump, and his campaign, were indeed colluding with the Russians to alter the outcome of this election?

Did Russia invent a criminal case against Anthony Weiner – so their hacker Nikulin could plant Hillary’s emails on his computer? 

It was the Comey letter that handed the election to Trump. Even if corrupt elements in the FBI Field Office in New York, penetrated by Russia, forced Comey’s hand – even if Russian hacker Nikulin did plant emails on Anthony Weiner’s computer – there had to be a “separate criminal case” in the first place for the NYPD and FBI to go looking, right? 

But what if there wasn’t? What if Vladimir Putin directed the entire attack – not via a “15 year old girl” from Gaston, North Carolina, but by a hardened group of adult hackers from that state who had penetrated the emails of Director Brennan of the CIA, and doxed and attacked hundreds of FBI and law enforcement personnel? 

And what if, after making Carter Page’s recruiter Jeff Sessions Attorney General, Donald Trump repeated the trick by making the ‘prosecutor’ of those Carolina hackers Acting AG – then changing the order of succession at Justice to cement him as number two?

Russia, I believe, created, from scratch, the chain of events that forced James Comey’s letter to Congress. All available data shows that it was the timing of this letter that handed the election to Donald Trump. On November 3rd, just before the election, the Russian plane MKATE and Putin’s bagman Rybolovev met Donald Trump’s campaign plane on the tarmac at Charlotte, North Carolina. By that time, events in North Carolina had swung the election to Mr. Trump. 

Intrigued? Yes me too.

And even more so after I read this: 

All of Anthony Weiner’s sleazy sexting prior to this had been done with girls and women over the age of sexual consent. The youngest among them was 17 years old. In order for a case to be created, there needed to be an “underage victim”. It seems evident that just such an operation was planned by Russia; to create a “victim”, to create a “criminal case”, to allow Weiner’s computers to be seized and for Nikulin to plant his emails via Formspring. 

According to the “breaking story” of September 21st, by Alana Goodman in the Daily Mail, this girl had begun to sext with Weiner in January 2016. Her original story is odd and convoluted in a number of respects. 

Firstly, the story is dated September 21st, but publishing dates on videos contained within the story appear to indicate that they were uploaded some six days earlier. 

Secondly, the story contains a report that Weiner “provided emails that he says proved he was the subject of a hoax” but the journalist does not tell us why Mr. Weiner said these emails proved this. 

Of course, there is the one sentence: “You got catfished by a dude.”

Mensch then goes into great deal to explain how the fifteen year old girl's letter was clearly not written by her, and details the involvement of a  North Carolina hacker group called "Crackas With Attitude."

When I first ran across this story on Twitter I had some real reservations about its authenticity. After all there really is a lot of fake news out there.

But then I read this: 

In the journalistic race to get to the bottom of one of the most closely guarded secrets in Washington – the investigation into the Trump team’s contacts with Moscow – one of the biggest scoops came from an unexpected source: the British former MP and novelist Louise Mensch.

On the eve of the November election, Mensch published a sensational story reporting that a special intelligence court in Washington had granted a warrant to allow the FBI to conduct surveillance of “US persons” in an investigation of possible contacts between Russian banks and the Trump organisation. 

At the time, the story did not cause much of a ripple. It was published on Heat Street, a libertarian-leaning website run by News Corp, and an unknown quantity in journalism. So was Mensch, whose recent public profile consisted mainly of a string of angry Twitter spats. 

Meanwhile, the combined investigative forces of the US media had spent months seeking to prove a secret connection between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin and had come up with very little. 

The online magazine Slate had published an article at the end of October about mysterious pings that had been detected between a Russian bank, Alfa, and a server connected to the Trump organisation, but the New York Times quoted FBI officials as saying they had looked into it and decided there “there could be an innocuous explanation” for the computer contacts.

Two months later, however, the BBC put out a story echoing Mensch’s original report about the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (Fisa) court warrant issued in October to allow the justice department to look into transfers and communications between the Russian banks and Trump associate – and that US intelligence agencies were investigating the link.

So in other words this newcomer to journalism managed to scoop every other major media outlet in the world.

Currently she can be found providing commentary on MSNBC, and she has made herself a go to source on the Russian/Trump story.

So does that mean that we should automatically accept as factual everything she wrote about catfishing Anthony Weiner, and how it ties in with the Comey letter, over on Patriobots?

No of course not, we must always look at everything with heightened scrutiny.

But should she be dismissed as a quack who traffics in fake news stories?

No, she should not.

Judge orders FBI to produce search warrant application which allowed them to search for Hillary Clinton's e-mails.

A U.S. judge on Tuesday directed federal prosecutors to show him the search warrant application used to enable the FBI to access emails related to Hillary Clinton's private server that were discovered shortly before the Nov. 8 presidential election. 

U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel in Manhattan ordered prosecutors by Thursday to turn over the application, which investigators obtained shortly after FBI Director James Comey informed Congress of newly discovered emails on Oct. 28, 11 days before the election won by her Republican opponent Donald Trump. 

Castel made the order as he considered whether any portion of the search warrant materials could be made public in response to a lawsuit filed by Randol Schoenberg, a Los Angeles-based lawyer who specializes in cases to recover artwork stolen by the Nazis, seeking to force the release of the documents. 

In court papers, Schoenberg said the public had a "strong interest" in the disclosure of the search warrant materials, saying transparency was "crucial" given the potential influence the probe had on the election's outcome.

Yes we most certainly DO deserve to know what happened here. 

And further I think we deserve to get a peek into James Comey's e-mails as well so we can see just who it was who pulled his strings and had him break protocol to undermine our election process.

Holocaust attorney files lawsuit to learn what justification the FBI used for interfering in the 2016 election.

E. Randol Schoenberg, an attorney renowned for recovering artworks stolen by Nazis during the Holocaust, filed a lawsuit against the FBI this week to get answers about why Director James Comey falsely suggested that Hillary Clinton committed a crime just days before the 2016 election. 

“I filed a lawsuit today against the US Department of Justice seeking immediate disclosure of the FBI search warrant for the e-mails of Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin on Anthony Weiner’s laptop,” Schoenberg wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday. “I think we need to see what ‘probable cause’ was shown for obtaining the search warrant, because whoever thought there was going to be evidence of a crime was obviously mistaken. And that mistake probably changed the outcome of the election.” 

In a blog post late last month, Schoenberg explained that it would be very unusual for a judge to grant the FBI a search warrant “[s]imply because someone has the ability to commit the crime of intentionally violating laws governing the handling of classified information.” 

“To obtain a warrant it had to establish probable cause to believe that evidence of a crime would be found. 

Since we now know that no such evidence was found on the laptop, it is time to investigate why the FBI believed it had probable cause.” 

One possible theory, Schoenberg said, is that “the new allegations came from people associated with the Trump campaign.”

You know what, I'd like to learn the answer to this as well.

Schoenberg implicated Chris Christie and Rudy Giuliani as possibly being involved, and suggested that if this does lead back to Donald Trump that he could face impeachment.  

I have serious doubts about that last part, but I would still like to know what kind of behind the scenes manipulations were used to convince James Comey to risk his reputation and his future to undermine Hillary Clinton and throw the race to Donald Trump.

I think as Americans we all deserve an answer to that.

(Okay that is just bullshit. All we have been told is that there are thousands of e-mails, not that they have ANYTHING to do with Hillary.) With political winds finally shifting away from Globalists (Another Alex Jones term.) who've arrogantly lorded over us to We the People, I look forward to the shift in media where basic investigative journalism becomes a norm. Palin then links to a conspiracy laced video in the vein of Alex Jones, which reputes to prove that Abedin is a secret agent from Saudi Arabia who is secretly working to overthrow democracy in America. (And here I thought Donald Trump was just doing that openly.)

However I must follow that up by pointing out that Sarah Palin is the LAST person who should be talking about demeaning or objectifying women.

ALL that she did during the 2008 campaign was use her looks and sexy librarian costume in an attempt to seduce old men into voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, and by doing so helped to set the women's rights movement back a decade or more.

As for demeaning young girls, what did she think she did to Bristol by dragging her pregnant ass out onto the national stage?

And as for protecting a victimizer remember it was not so long ago that Palin helped her son avoid jail time for drunkenly beating his girlfriend while waving a gun around.

As for Anthony Weiner I really don't think that anybody is willing to defend his disgusting actions (Hell I doubt that Anthony Weiner's parents would defend Anthony Weiner at this point.), however that cannot be blamed on Huma Abedin.

However Sarah Palin is throwing stones while standing in the most fragile of glass houses here.

Update: You know I typed this whole thing without taking into account that the candidate who Palin is endorsing is a thousand times worse than Anthony Wiener, and might actually be a child rapist, so her glass house is in fact already fractured.

That is just a sample of the outrage directed at James Comey in response to notifying Congress about these "new" emails.

Many are calling for his resignation, while others are trying to tamp down the inferno of speculation and accusations that have been the result.

The emails that Donald Trump has claimed will bring down Hillary Clinton are not quite the bombshell that he thinks, reports said Saturday. The revelation about new emails related to Hillary Clinton came out Friday, after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress on the matter, a move that triggered panic and sent stocks plunging. Trump quickly swept up the story and told supporters the scandal would be “bigger than Watergate.” Yet an official told the Los Angeles Times late Friday that the emails in question weren’t sent to or from Clinton, nor did they contain any new information. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Comey’s letter to Congress was more a formality than anything else. NBC’s Pete Williams later reiterated that, saying FBI sources had told him that not only were the emails not from Clinton, but they had nothing to do with her.

If this report is true, and there has been no information released to refute it, then that means that this whole thing is much ado about nothing.

And the person pouring gasoline all over what seems to barely be a spark, is of course Donald Trump:  

TRUMP: The FBI has just sent a letter to Congress informing them that they have discovered new e-mails pertaining to the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s investigation … 

CROWD: Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! 

TRUMP: And they are reopening her case into her criminal and illegal conduct that threatens the security of the United States of America.

Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we have never seen before. We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office. I have great respect for the fact that the FBI and the Department of Justice are now willing to have the courage to right the horrible mistake that they made.

This was a grave miscarriage of justice that the American people fully understood. And it is everybody’s hope that it is about to be corrected.

Of course nothing is going to "be corrected" because there is really nothing TO be corrected. 

But Donald Trump has NEVER cared about the truth, and in fact it rarely makes an appearance at one of his rallies, and neither do his supporters.

All Trump cares about is throwing red meat to his audience of knuckle dragging morons, and all they care about is having their irrational hate of Hillary, the government, and the media reinforced.

So yes this will blow over, but when it does it will only be to make room for the next phony "scandal" that Trump supporters are certain will destroy Hillary Clinton's candidacy.

This new evidence relates to how Abedin managed her emails. She maintained four email accounts—an unclassified State Department account, another on the clintonemail.com domain and a third on Yahoo. The fourth was linked to her husband’s account; she used it to support his activities when he was running for Congress, investigative records show. Abedin, who did not know Clinton used a private server for her emails, told the bureau in an April interview that she used the account on the clintonemail.com domain only for issues related to the Secretary’s personal affairs, such as communicating with her friends. For work-related records, Abedin primarily used the email account provided to her by the State Department. 

Because Clinton preferred to read documents on paper rather than on a screen, emails and other files were often printed out and provided to her either at her office or home, where they were delivered in a diplomatic pouch by a security agent. Abedin, like many State Department officials, found the government network technology to be cumbersome, and she had great trouble printing documents there, investigative records show. As a result, she sometimes transferred emails from her unclassified State Department account to either her Yahoo account or her account on Clinton’s server, and printed the emails from there. It is not clear whether she ever transferred official emails to the account she used for her husband’s campaign.

 Abedin would use this procedure for printing documents when she received emails she believed Clinton needed to see and when the Secretary forwarded emails to her for printing. Abedin told the FBI she would often print these emails without reading them. Abedin printed a large number of emails this way, in part because, investigative records show, other staff members considered her Clinton’s “gatekeeper” and often sent Abedin electronic communications they wanted the Secretary to see. 

This procedure for printing documents, the government official says, appears to be how the newly discovered emails ended up on the laptop shared by Abedin and her husband. It is unclear whether any of those documents were downloaded onto the laptop off of her personal email accounts or were saved on an external storage device, such as a flash drive, and then transferred to the shared computer. There is also evidence that the laptop was used to send emails from Abedin to Clinton; however, none of those emails are the ones being examined by the FBI. Moreover, unless she was told by Abedin in every instance, Clinton could not have known what device her aide was using to transmit electronic information to her.

The article goes on to say that the only way there would be any criminal charges here is if there were proof that Abedin intended to disclose what was in classified documents, or purposefully mishandled classified documents, which is highly unlikely since she has already provided testimony to Congress about this same topic.

Besides if none of the documents are considered classified, which is the most likely scenario, then none of this even warrants an investigation at all.

In a statement to NBC, Huma Abedin announced she is planning to separate from her husband Anthony Weiner. 

Anthony Weiner appears to have deleted his Twitter account amid new allegations that the former New York congressman has been sending lewd messages to an unknown woman over the past 19 months, the New York Post reports. The report is the latest in a series of sexting scandals involving Weiner, including one that brought down his 2013 campaign to become the mayor of New York City. 

One of the photos allegedly sent by Weiner, the husband of Hillary Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin, includes their sleeping son.

So to the question of whether or not there are douchebags on the Left to match the douchebags on the Right, I give you exhibit A.

You know in full disclosure there was a time that I really liked Anthony Weiner but damn is he a POS!

And I really feel sorry for Huma.

Not only is the poor woman now under constant attack from the Right Wing, but she also has to put up with this shit.

And I shudder to imagine how the Right Wing and Donald Trump will use this to attack Hillary Clinton. Because you know they will.

But Ms. Abedin’s separation quickly became political fodder for Donald J. Trump, Mrs. Clinton’s Republican opponent. 

“Huma is making a very wise decision. I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. 

“I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information,” he continued. “Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”

And I imagine that is only the beginning. 

As a Democrat I cannot believe I am saying this but if you live in New York City Anthony Weiner does not deserve your vote. Update!

I watched this press conference yesterday in an actual rage. So much so that I yelled at my TV.

And the part that inspired my outburst was when Huma stepped up the microphone, and with a quivering voice told the people of New York that she had forgiven her husband, and that she supported his candidacy. At that point I started yelling, "Don't do that! Don't support that liar and try to cover for his inadequacies. You're better than that, and he does not deserve to have you humiliate yourself in order to help him get a job that he is unfit to hold."

Now let tell you why I was so upset. 

During that press conference Weiner admitted that he continued sexting and sending pictures of his junk even AFTER he had been forced to resign for that very same behavior.

I work in the mental health community, and THAT is the sign of an exhibitionist with virtually NO impulse control, and one who receives a great deal of sexual gratification from having women see his penis. Furthermore there is every reason to believe that if he is not currently engaging in the same type of behavior, that he soon will be.

During the conference Huma revealed that they had attended therapy together to save their marriage, but there was NO indication that Weiner had received counseling for his sexual addiction. Therefore in my opinion there is simply NO way that he has put a stop to it on his own. At least not for long.

So no, Anthony Weiner should simply accept that his life as a politician is over and move on to the next phase. A phase which I absolutely do not believe can start until AFTER he receives some counseling for his compulsions.

I have a great deal of respect for Huma, but you think that this is the last time we will see her shamed by the antics of her husband then you are sorely mistaken, and she, and ALL women, deserve better than that.

So why am I doing this? Because Anthony has always been a smart, caring, and dedicated person, and while he’s the same public servant who wants what’s best for the people he represents, he is now something else—a better man. New Yorkers will have to decide for themselves whether or not to give him a second chance. I had to make that same decision for myself, for my son, for our family. And I know in my heart that I made the right one. 

Well I have no idea if Huma's decision to stay with her husband is a good one or not,  but I certainly do not think that Weiner has demonstrated that he should be trusted by the people of New York.

Anthony Weiner apparently has not heard enough jokes about his wiener. Now officially running for mayor of New York City.

“I made some big mistakes and I know I let a lot of people down. But I've also learned some tough lessons,” the Democrat said in a video posted on his website late on Tuesday. 

"I'm running for mayor because I've been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it my entire life," he added. “I hope I get a second chance to work for you." 

The video, which features his son and wife Huma Abedin, an aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, focused on his middle-class roots in Brooklyn. 

With this bold attempt at a comeback ahead of the primary in September, Weiner is hoping to erase the image of a tweeted crotch shot that precipitated his resignation.

Yeah that's NOT going to happen. In fact I think we can all count on seeing pictures of his Johnson showing up all over the place for the next several months. 

For that reason alone I wish he wouldn't do this.

And his poor wife! This cannot be what SHE really wants, can it?

Especially considering the fact that when Hillary runs in 2016 she will most likely be associated with her campaign in some way. The last thing she needs is to be weighed down with her husband's baggage on the campaign trial.

Look I was as big fan as anybody of Anthony Weiner, but this just feels like train wreck just waiting to happen. If I'm wrong I will perform a mea culpa right here on this blog, but I just don't think I'm wrong here.

Now I usually support Democrats, and Anthony Weiner used to be one of my favorites, but this is a bad idea!

Saying that he would like, at some point, to “ask people to give me a second chance,” Anthony D. Weiner, the former congressman who resigned in 2011 amid a scandal over his lewd online behavior, is mulling a run for mayor this year because “it’s now or maybe never for me.” 

In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, which was posted online Wednesday morning and is to be published in print on Sunday, Mr. Weiner cautioned that he did not know when he would decide about entering the race, and conceded that “the fact that I don’t know tells me I shouldn’t run. Or I should not run now.” He also acknowledged that he would be “the underdog in any race I ran,” citing a poll he commissioned earlier this year to gauge whether voters were prepared to forgive him and take him seriously as a candidate. 

Mr. Weiner and his publicity-averse wife, Huma Abedin, sought in the interview to demonstrate that he was a changed and humbled man: a stay-at-home father living in what the magazine writer describes as a “sprawling apartment” on Park Avenue South, far from the Queens and Brooklyn neighborhoods Mr. Weiner represented in the House of Representatives for more than a decade. 

“Some people just don’t buy it,” Mr. Weiner said. “Like they just don’t have room for a second narrative about me.”

Oh hell no! Those people are right not to have room for a second narrative.

Like I said, I used to REALLY like this man, and often stood and applauded his aggressiveness in taking on the Republican party, but he needs to stay the hell out of politics.

He just does.

I am beyond impressed that he managed to save his marriage, I have certainly had marriages end for far less than what he did, but he should simply be happy with that and look for another line of work and NOT try to get EVERYTHING back to the way it was when he tweeted his penis.

Once you do something like that, lie about, and then have to admit that every Right Wing rag that called you out for lying were right, the Democratic party just does not have any use for you any more in my opinion.

I mean if he were a Republican like David Vitter, or Larry Craig, or Mark Sanford, or Larry Craig, it might be acceptable. After all being a pervert, a hypocrite, or a habitual liar, is how you get into politics as a Republican.

But not for Democrats, we need to be better than that.

Anybody disagree? Or think I am being too harsh?

Another reason to be angry at Anthony Weiner.

That guy in the white shirt embarrassing the hell out of all of the Caucasians in America is 9th Congressional District Assemblyman David Weprin, who just so happens is running for Anthony Weiner's old Congressional seat.

Is it too late to just reinstate the guy who showed the world his penis?  Comparatively speaking I think it was somewhat less embarrassing.

And can I just say as a representative of my pasty white homies, that not ALL of us are lacking the "get down and boogie" gene.

I myself have danced on stage, in numerous nightclubs that I was not asked to leave, and at one time even professionally. (No I will not elaborate on that last part because whatever was your first assumption will, sadly, turn out to be the correct assumption.) The secret to not dancing like an arthritic Alzheimer's patient suffering a slight hearing loss which makes it impossible for you to find the beat, is to not TRY to dance. If you try to hide your lack of dancing ability through big distracting movements you will just look like an epileptic trying to pick fruit off of a tree. Just like 9th Congressional District Assemblyman David Weprin in the above video.

Anthony Weiner resigns!

Twenty days after the scandal dubbed "Weinergate" erupted with the sending of a sexually suggestive photograph on Twitter, a rising star of the Democrats was forced to resign his congressional seat in the face of pressure from the highest levels of his party.

From having been ranked as a possible future Democratic leader and the frontrunner to become New York mayor in 2013, Anthony Weiner's fall from grace is spectacular and close to complete. He has spent his entire adult life in politics, having been elected in 1991 as the youngest councillor to serve in New York city then aged 27.

True to his character as an abrasive and at times antagonistic politician, Weiner, now 46, at first tried to lie his way out of the sex scandal he had provoked by sending lewd photographs of himself to several different women. When the rightwing blogger Andrew Breitbart revealed his actions on 28 May, Weiner initially claimed his Twitter account had been hacked into, later changing his story to say he wasn't sure whether the images of a semi-naked man were of him.

After further revelations emerged virtually every day of his sexually charged interactions, he went in front of the cameras on 6 June to admit that he had been involved through cyberspace with at least six different women. But even then he refused to stand down from his New York seat.

Weiner's resignation was made on the day that party leaders had been preparing to strip him of his powerful positions on congressional committees — a move which would have further humiliated and weakened him.

The official line taken by party leaders such as Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic chief in the House of Representatives who has called on him to resign, was that the scandal was distracting attention from important political debates such as the economy.

I just watched this on CNN. 

It was pretty sad even though I have been one of those saying that he had to make this choice all along.

There was some asshole in the audience yelling out insulting questions, that I assume is one of Howard Stern's douchebags.  That was uncalled for in my opinion, and I would have hoped that Weiner could at least have been given some respect on the day that he did what he needed to do for his party, for his family, and for his country.

Okay can we finally agree that Anthony Weiner should resign now?

TMZ published a new slew of squirm-inducing self-portraits, including several full-body shots taken in the House gym - some clothed, some not.

Several show Weiner showing off his naked body holding only his camera and his privates.

Another source close to Weiner said the congressman was surprised it took two weeks for the gym photos to surface.

Weiner shrugged off calls from top Democrats - including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz - worrying more about what his rank and file colleagues think, a source said.

The source said one person Weiner would listen to is his mentor, Sen. Chuck Schumer. Schumer says he is "heartbroken" but has stopped short of telling Weiner to quit.

The other person Weiner will take advice from - his wife, Huma Abedin - is in Africa with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Weiner is still convinced Abedin won't divorce him, and is still telling people she wants him to stay in Congress, sources said.

The lusty lawmaker is afraid of what Clinton, who has some experience with misbehaving husbands, may be whispering to Abedin, the source said.

The last two weeks have taken a toll on the congressman, who isn't sleeping and spends hours pacing his apartment, friends said.

Look I am a good progressive, I know that it is unfair that David Vitter gets to nail prostitutes and keep his Senate seat, I get all of that.  But come on!

How is this helping the Democrats remain credible when it comes to calling out Republicans on their hypocrisy? 

In my opinion there is NO way for Weiner to survive this, and as much as I may personally hate it, he simply has to respond to the calls for his resignation and take one for the team.

We have too much to do, and this is an enormous distraction.

I first have to say how sad I am about how this turned out.

I had kind of hoped that Wiener would be vindicated, even though I had long since decided that he was simply not being honest.

I desperately did NOT want Breitbart to have successfully destroyed this man's career, which is mostly the reason why I did not report on it. 

It is somewhat reminiscent of how I reacted to news about the John Edwards love child and adultery story.

I did not blog about the story for a long time because I did not want to do anything which might have caused his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, any more pain.  However since that story broke I have had a conversation with the National Enquirer reporter who broke that story and told him thanks for what he did.

It was a story which needed to be told, regardless of how much we may have at one time supported and admired John Edwards. And believe me, I really did admire him very much.

But you see that is the difference between how I deal with learning that the people I support are flawed human beings, and how the people who support Sarah Palin, and others in the GOP, deal with information which makes THEM look less than competent or capable.

I would NEVER consider trying to change history, or creating some alternative universe where my candidate's answers were correct, in order to defend somebody that I supported. I would carefully consider what I had learned and then, based on that, decide if they were still worth supporting.

Which is why I have to say, that I really don't support Rep.Weiner's decision to remain in Congress.  I think he should resign.  Immediately.

I like the guy, I understand that what he did SHOULD really be just between he and his wife, but he lied.  And even after he had EVERY reason to come clean he lied, and lied, and lied.

And for me, that is a deal breaker.

You know Anthony does not JUST bring his last name of Weiner when he goes to work, he also brings his ginormous set of BALLS!
