French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday unveiled measures aimed at educating the public and schoolchildren about sexism and violence against women and improving police support for victims.  

During his campaign Macron, who won the presidential election in May, promised to rethink sexual politics and gender equality, which he made a national cause for his five-year mandate. 

The Harvey Weinstein scandal in the United States has accelerated a rethink of attitudes toward sexual harassment in France, a country that cherishes its self-image as the land of seduction and romance. 

“Let’s seal a pact of equality between men and women,” Macron said in a speech marking the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women. 

About violence and sexual abuse, he said: “It is essential that shame changes camp.” During his speech, Macron observed a minute’s silence for the 123 women killed by their partner or ex-partner in 2016. 

That is the kind of national response that we need here in America.

And that is the kind of leadership we deserve.

In fact that is the kind of leadership we once enjoyed.....

Elizabeth Perkins called out the actor James Woods on Sunday, holding a sign bearing the words “James Woods #MeToo” as she joined a Los Angeles march designed to raise awareness of sexual assault and sexual harassment, and to demonstrate solidarity with the victims. 

It is not clear if Perkins is accusing Woods of sexual misconduct.

Oh I think it's clear.

James Woods is a well known sexual harasser in Hollywood.

In fact actor Amber Tamblyn came forward just last month to reveal that Woods tried to pick her and a friend up when she was only sixteen years old: 

Amber Tamblyn, 34, took to Twitter on September 11 to allege that now-70-year-old actor James Woods had "tried to pick [up]" her and a friend and that he invited her to Las Vegas when she was 16. According to People, Amber's tweets came in response to actor Armie Hammer tweeting to Woods, "Didn't you date a 19 year old when you were 60.......?" following Woods's criticism of Armie's upcoming film, in which he plays a 24-year-old dating a 17-year-old. 

"James Woods tried to pick me and my friend up at a restaurant once. He wanted to take us to Vegas. 'I'm 16' I said. 'Even better' he said," Amber tweeted.

Tamblyn went on to write a much longer article about her treatment in Hollywood, and about the perverted James Woods in particular.

Oh, and trust me she is not alone.

Much like Moore the conservatives are going to fight hard to discredit any allegations against James Woods, but seriously can anybody look at this face and NOT think he is a pervert?

The White House on Friday confirmed its official stance on the women accusing President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct: They are lying. 

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the position in a press conference on Friday afternoon after CBS News reporter Jacqueline Alemany posed a question: 

“Obviously sexual harassment has been in the news. At least 16 women accused the president of sexually harassing them throughout the course of the campaign. Last week, during a press conference in the Rose Garden, the president called these accusations ‘fake news.’ Is the official White House position that all these women are lying?” 

“Yeah, we’ve been clear on that from the beginning and the president has spoken on it,” Sanders said in a curt response.

To be clear, according to the Republicans, any woman who accused Bill Clinton of propositioning them is completely believable.

Any woman who accused Democratic fundraiser Harvey Weinsten of sexually abusing or harassing them, completely believable.

Any women who are currently accusing Mark Halperin of being a pig, completely believable.

However the more than a dozen women accusing Trump of harassing, assaulting, or even raping them, well those bitches are lying.

Just thought we should take the time to clear that up.

This is a cover that's guaranteed to give the conservatives a conniption fit.

The Republicans and Right Wing media keep banging the drum about Harvey Weinstein while remaining seemingly oblivious to their own hypocrisy.

Just get a load of what Tucker Carlson, who currently occupies the time slot made available after Bill O'Reilly was forced out of Fox News due to his own accusations of sexual harassment, tweeted the other day.

RNC chair Ronna Romney McDaniel on Monday defended President Donald Trump against comparisons to Harvey Weinstein, a day after Weinstein was fired from the eponymous company he co-founded amid a flood of sexual harassment accusations. 

McDaniel said Trump’s remarks on the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape bragging about grabbing women “by the pussy,” released almost exactly a year ago, were not relevant to the discussion about the allegations against Weinstein. 

“It’s not even comparable, though,” she said on CNN. “To even make that comparison is disrespectful to the President.” 

McDaniel said Trump “didn’t have eight settlements” and said Weinstein “admits that he did that.” 

She also claimed Trump did not have “women coming forward” with such allegations, though multiple women accused Trump of sexual misconduct after the “Access Hollywood” tape was released. 

“Harvey Weinstein brought women into his hotel room,” McDaniel claimed.

Touchy, touchy.

By the Trump ALSO took women back to his hotel room and used his influence and power to get them to have sex with him in exchange for favors he promised to do for them, that is well documented.

Hell he essentially admits to that in a number of interviews with Howard Stern.

However Romney McDaniel (Yes, she IS Mitt Romney's niece.) is right in that there ARE differences between Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump.

For one thing there do not appear to be any allegations that Weinstein raped a 13 year old girl, and the political party that he is most affiliated with did not nominate him to be their candidate for president.

Other than that though, not a whole lot of difference.

I have to say that I love the fact that Trump and his idiot son are allowing all of us to once again bring up that Access Hollywood tape and all of the allegations against him, which include those underage rape allegations.

I actually have no doubt that Trump knew all about Weintsein's behaviors.

There is probably a club that powerful sexual predators belong to where they can swap war stories about their narrow escapes and wax philosophical about their numerous victims.

The 39-year-old also liked posts about how the film industry had covered up Weinstein's advances toward women, how close Weinstein was with several high-profile Democrats and how Weinstein planned to sue the Times for not giving him enough time to respond to the allegations. 

Trump Jr. then seized upon another part of Weinstein's statement, where the executive wrote that he "came of age in the '60s and '70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different." CNN journalist Jake Tapper wrote that "it's weird how many dad[s] grew up in the same exact era and never sexually harassed anyone," and Trump Jr. liked it. 

Wait, what? 

President Trump has been accused of harassment by several women—and, depending on how you interpret the 2005 tape, may have even admitted to it. In that conversation, recorded as the tycoon spoke with Access Hollywood host Billy Bush, Trump bragged about a lady and said he'd "moved on her like a bitch." He added that he was attracted to beautiful women, and when he wants to seduce them, he "just starts kissing."

It should be pointed out that yesterday, during the time that Junior was posting all of this, it was the first year anniversary of the release of the Access Hollywood pussy grabbing tape.

That's why the video was played on a loop for 12 hours yesterday just outside the White House.

This kind of deflection reminds me of when Trump invited all of those Bill Clinton accusers to the debate in order to rattle Hillary.

However that failed and she mopped the floor with him that night.

This right here is yet another epic fail on the part of the Trumps.

Harvey Weinsein is indeed a terrible person, and he deserves everything that seems to be coming his way right now.

However I think Nate Silver summed it up nicely.

Hard to think of any difference between Weinstein & Trump other than one of them was his PARTY's NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Hillary Clinton is NOT responsible for Weinstein's actions. And it is really not her responsibility to publicly condemn him.

I mean it's not as if he were her father, who she was attempting to provide cover for or anything.
