Yesterday Donald Trump called for due process when dealing with allegations of abuse or sexual misconduct. Senator Gillibrand says "Hold my beer."

Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?

Trump tweeted this out yesterday in response to yet another White House staff member resigning in the wake of allegations of spousal abuse.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand decided that he had a point.

The President has shown through words and actions that he doesn’t value women. It’s not surprising that he doesn’t believe survivors or understand the national conversation that is happening.

The lives of survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse are being shattered every day. If he wants due process for the over dozen sexual assault allegations against him, let’s have Congressional hearings tomorrow. I would support that and my colleagues should too.

Well that seems perfectly reasonable to me.

If Trump really wants to see justice done, and an investigation of the numerous allegations being bandied about, well where better to start than with the ones against him? 

If Trump thought the Mueller investigation was terrifying, wait until he saw a parade of women making accusations against him filling into the Senate chambers.

Now THAT would be must see TV.

Congress is about to get submerged under a huge wave of sexual harassment claims.

Not surprisingly, the end-of-the-year political news coverage has been dominated by midterm election predictions. They usually point to the abundance of surveys showing Democrats with a big lead in generic congressional polls. Other pundits predict the public's response to the GOP tax reform law will play a key role in the November results. 

But leave it to those pundits to miss what could be the top "x-factor" in the midterms: sexual harassment. Sexual misconduct has already been dubbed the top story for 2017: Complaints against the Department of Justice's handling of many sexual harassment cases is just the latest scandal to arise.

Potential cases could likely hit both the House and Senate throughout 2018. But it's the Senate where the impact is likely to be greatest, and the reason is simple math. The GOP majority in the Senate is already a dramatically low 51-49 margin post Doug Jones' victory in the Alabama special election. Just one lost seat either pulls the Senate into a tie or gives the Republicans some much needed breathing room. 

Those 260-plus settlements yet to be unsealed hang like a sword of Damocles over all of Capitol Hill.

Sources say that pressure is leading to a widespread fear factor on Capitol Hill. Dozens of staffers have told CNBC they're starting to make contingency plans in case their elected bosses get ensnared in the next sexual misconduct allegation to go public.

There is no real reason to think that more Republican than Democrat politicians will necessarily be affected by this, after all men are still men despite their political point of view.

However if I were a betting man I would think that the Republicans would probably fear this more than members of the other party, simply because the GOP's attitude toward women is a little more Cro-Magnon and even their propaganda network (Fox News) is rife with allegations of sexual misconduct.

In the end I think this might mean that it benefits the Democrats a little more, but I am absolutely certain that it means we are soon to see a huge influx of female Congresspeople and Senators.

Well I think we all know what "and would do anything for them" means in this case, just like we all knew what he meant by "“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever" when he was talking about Megyn Kelly.

This man is a pig, and he continues to degrade and insult women even while sitting in the most powerful political position on the planet.

He simply cannot be removed from office fast enough in my opinion.

It appears that the battle lines have now been drawn. 

Women, progressives, and feminists on one side.

And pedophiles, misogynists, and perverts on the other.

In wake of newest allegations Senator Kirsten Gillibrand asks Al Franken to step aside.

This statement comes in response to the newest allegations against Franken.

A former Democratic congressional aide said Al Franken tried to forcibly kiss her after a taping of his radio show in 2006, three years before he became a U.S. senator. 

The aide, whose name POLITICO is withholding to protect her identity, said Franken (D-Minn.) pursued her after her boss had left the studio. She said she was gathering her belongings to follow her boss out of the room. When she turned around, Franken was in her face. 

The former staffer ducked to avoid Franken’s lips. As she hastily left the room, she said, Franken told her: “It’s my right as an entertainer.” 

“He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me. It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like ‘Wait, what is happening?’ But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked,” the aide said in an interview. “I was really startled by it and I just sort of booked it towards the door and he said, ‘It’s my right as an entertainer.’”

Franken has denied this latest allegation, but that is likely not enough to save his seat in the Senate.

There are now a number of Senators besides Gillibrand calling for Franken to step aside.

And that now includes Senator Chuck Schumer as well.

There is a tsunami coming to wash away male predators and it is likely to take a few innocents down as well.

I don't know that Franken is innocent at all, but like I said it simply does not matter at this point.

Especially since Gillibrand is likely going to ride this wave of female anger and their desire to achieve long denied justice all the way to the presidential nomination in 2020.

The Kentucky Republican is sponsoring legislation called the “Transparency for the Families of 9/11 Act,” which would force the release of the disputed pages. With his support, an important issue that has languished far too long may be finally gaining traction. 

Paul is a big catch for the 28 pages movement, as advocates describe their effort. Former Florida senator Bob Graham, who has been banging the drum on the classified pages for years, will appear alongside Paul at a press conference at the Capitol on Tuesday morning to lend his gravitas to the occasion. 

Graham led the Senate inquiry and drafted the pages that have been kept under wraps. Without violating his oath of secrecy about specifics, the Democrat has been quite outspoken, saying the redacted pages “point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier” of the 9/11 attacks. He has also said the U.S. government’s protective stance toward the Saudis allows them to continue spreading the extreme Wahhabi version of Islam that has led to the rise of ISIS. 

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) has long been on record supporting the disclosure, and he is co-sponsoring the legislation. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is described as “definitely interested,” and as the 9/11 family members continue to press for answers, they hope the moment is coming when this long-festering report will see the light of day, either by legislative action or by President Obama deciding enough is enough.

Damn do I hate being on the same side as Rand Paul, however once again he is absolutely right to push for this.  

I don't want to get all conspiratorial here, but if you think we know the full truth about 9-11 then you are seriously deluding yourself.
