Female Democratic candidate running for a Congressional seat in Kansas drops out over sexual harassment allegations. Well you knew it had to happen sometime.

Courtesy of the Kansas City Star:

Andrea Ramsey, a Democratic candidate for Congress, will drop out of the race after the Kansas City Star asked her about accusations in a 2005 lawsuit that she sexually harassed and retaliated against a male subordinate who said he had rejected her advances.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the case told The Star that the man reached a settlement with LabOne, the company where Ramsey was executive vice president of human resources. Court documents show that the man, Gary Funkhouser, and LabOne agreed to dismiss the case permanently after mediation in 2006.

Ramsey, a 56-year-old retired business executive from Leawood, was one of the Democratic candidates vying to challenge Republican Rep. Kevin Yoder in 2018 in Kansas’ 3rd District.

She was running with the endorsement of Emily’s List, a liberal women’s group that has raised more than a half-million dollars to help female candidates who support abortion rights.

Ramsey will drop out on Friday, her campaign said.

It was really only a matter of time before a Democratic female candidate was taken out by the #MeToo movement as well.

And in some ways this is the very example of gender equality.

Of course women can sexually harass male co-workers, hell it's happened to me.

However they are typically not as crude, and certainly not as physically threatening while they do it.

But still it happens, and when it does we need to respond to it just like we would if it were a Republican male.

By the way I was first tipped to this story by a tweet from the Wasilla Wendigo, who has been largely silent about charges directed at Donald Trump and Roy Moore, but can't resist going on the attack when it's a Democrat in the crosshairs.
Yeah we Democrats were "brooding" so hard that most of us did not seem to even know about this story.

New accuser comes forward and claims that Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was only fifteen years old.

Courtesy of CBS News:

Nelson describes her first encounters when she was 15 years old working as a waitress at a local restaurant after school.

She said Moore, DA of Etowah County, was a regular customer where he would often pull the ends of her hair as she passed by and complimented the young girl's looks.

"I did nothing to encourage this behavior," said Nelson, adding "I did not respond to any of Mr. Moore's flirtatious behavior."

She said that at the time of the encounters she had a boyfriend and was "not intersted in having a dating or sexual relationship with a man twice my age."

Nelson went on, describing another incident in which Moore signed a school yearbook of hers when she was 16.

"He wrote in my yearbook as follows: 'To a sweeter more beautiful girl, I could not say merry christmas, Christmas, 1977, Love Roy Moore, old hickory house. Roy Moore, DA.'"

She said after the incident, Moore had offered to drive Nelson home after work, during which she alleges he forced himself on Nelson and groped her in a locked car.

"I trusted Mr. Moore because he was district attorney, I thought he was doing something nice to offer to drive me home," said Nelson.

She detailed her fighting off Moore in the car as he squeezed her neck, forcing her head onto his crotch.

She said that Moore eventually gave up, and told her, "You're just a child and he said I'm the district attorney if you tell anyone about this no one will ever believe you."

This woman also says that she told others about the assault, though not at the time that it took place, and informed her husband before they got married.

If that can be verified, along with Moore's signature in her yearbook, I think Moore is cooked.

According to her attorney she is also perfectly willing to testify before Congress and the Senate under oath.

The other day a former boyfriend also came forward to affirm that he once dated the former 14 year old girl that Moore molested and that she told him the story back in 2009.
In response Mitch McConnell publicly stated that he believes the women and is calling for Moore to "step aside."

Senators Orrin Hatch and Susan Collins are also calling for Moore to resign.

On the plus side for the embattled Senate candidate more than 50 Alabama pastors just signed a letter of support for Roy Moore and  his campaign.

Moral Majority my ass.

Update: I realize now that nobody can leave comments on any of the posts after the Sean Hannity post from 6:15 this morning (Including me).

No I do not know what is wrong at the moment, but I have been having my own problems with Blogger for several days now.

Hopefully it will rectify itself, but in the meantime if you want to talk about a post you will have to leave a comment on the Hannity post from this morning.

Charlotte mayoral candidate lists being "white" as one of her qualifications for office.

Courtesy of the Charlotte Observer:

A Charlotte mayoral candidate wants people to know that she’s Republican, smart – and white.

“VOTE FOR ME!” Kimberley Paige Barnette posted on Facebook. “REPUBLICAN & SMART, WHITE, TRADITIONAL.”

Barnette, who turned 53 on Friday, is a former Mecklenburg County magistrate making her first run for office.

She could not be immediately reached.

In a WTVI debate last month, Barnette criticized last September’s Charlotte protesters. She called the protests “an expression of Democratic behavior.”

Asked how the city could help its lower-income residents, Barnette said, “I don’t think we should encourage more lower-income people to (come to) Charlotte.”

“We should attract higher-income people.”

In case you missed it, "higher-income" is shorthand for not a brown person.

I don't really want to judge people on their looks, but I am pretty sure I saw that same face stirring a cauldron during a Shakespearean play I watched one time.

But hey, she's white so who cares?

This is now apparently Trump's America where being white is really the only qualification one needs for success.

Is it too early in the day to start drinking?

Stephen Colbert beautifully calls out Republicans for their hypocrisy concerning Syrian refugees.

You can read a partial transcript over at Raw Story.

Here was my favorite part:

If you want to know if somebody is Christian, just ask them to complete this sentence,” Colbert said, quoting from Matthew 25:35. “Jesus said I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you — and if they don’t say welcomed me in, they are either a terrorist or they are running for president.”

Somehow I think that the behavior of some of these candidates is not exactly helping the Christian church stem mass exodus from their churches.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm just pointing it out.

It's official, John McCain's favorite girl is going to run for President!

Oh no, not THAT favorite girl, Lindsey Graham.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

Lindsey Graham says he is running for president.

While the Republican senator will make his official announcement June 1 in his hometown of Central, South Carolina, he made his intentions clear during an interview on “CBS This Morning” Monday.

“I am running because I think the world is falling apart,” Graham said.

He becomes the seventh major candidate to jump into the race for the GOP nomination. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, ex-Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson have already launched their respective campaigns.

Oh man this circus just gets more interesting every day.

And how in the hell will Miss Scarlett of "Bomb the Crap out of Everybody" farm going to fix the world anyhow?

By the way this is how he answered the question about going into Iraq:

Asked about stumbling from fellow Republicans Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida on Iraq, Graham said that knowing what we know now his answer of going into Iraq would be, “probably not, but that’s yesterday’s thinking.” Graham, however, added that “I’m afraid that more American soldiers will die in Iraq, eventually in Syria, to protect our homeland.”

This guy thinks that every problem is a nail and that the US Military is the hammer that needs to drive it into oblivion.

He's the kind of asshole who thinks that a burning building needs more gasoline in order to bring it under control.

In short he may be the absolute WORST candidate for President that the Republican party has to offer.

And that is a list which includes Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee so you KNOW this idiot is really dangerous.

Conservative Anchorage mayoral candidate Amy Demboski calls public park access plan "big government garbage." WTF?

Okay the project that crazy eyes was losing her shit about back in 2014 was a simple plan to secure access points to Chugach state park, which already exist but are unsecured.

Here is more from Alaska Dispatch:

The overall goal is to secure and maintain access to the park for existing and future park users. The plan is a step toward this goal by identifying potential access points, basically locations where users can already access the park but where the access is not secured or formally designated. The identification of such sites is a requirement of the Municipal Land Use Ordinance (Title 21) specifically to guide future planning and zoning decisions.

And that is what Demboski so eloquently refers to as "big government garbage."

God I cannot believe this is one of the two candidates in the run off election that will choose the next mayor to lead my city.

Sarah Palin is planning to run for office again. But "shhh" don't tell anybody.

"Wait, nobody is supposed to know yet."
Well I just got a call from a very well placed source who tells me that Palin is working overtime to head off a potential scandal that she is terrified will leak to the press.

Apparently that scandalous bit of information is that Todd's brother JD did not pass a recent urine test and is about to lose his job. (I have not heard what substances he tested positive for, but my source says alcohol has to be at least one of them.)

So worried is Palin that she has had Todd hire.....you might want to sit down for this....Rex Butler.

I know right?

So gee I guess all of that talk about Rex and Tank being paid off by the Palins in order to destroy Levi's credibility and drain his bank account, does not sound quite so far fetched anymore does it?

According to the source this company wants JD gone but Sarah and Todd are desperate for this not to explode onto the headlines.

Why are they so concerned you might be wondering?

Because the big surprise that Chuck Jr. has been hinting at is that Sarah is about to announce her candidacy for some political office.

Which one is still unclear, but she is DEFINITELY getting ready to make an announcement.

And my response to that is, good! If she does that I am certain to attract national attention for my source and to possibly even get her a book deal.

Speaking of my source I am pushing back my post until January 5th.

The reason is because that is a Monday which is always a better day for big news, and also because now I have quite a lot more information to work with than I did before.

Rex Butler, can you believe that shit?

Conservative blogger, supporting Tea party candidate, breaks into nursing home where opponent's wife lives and takes picture for attack video.

Courtesy of TPM:

I'm inclined to say this is what happens when you've got a Tea Party candidate who dabbles in neo-confederate and supremacist politics. But boy is this one weird and dirty. Here are the key facts. Incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran's wife has been in a nursing home for more than a decade. Precise details are sketchy but she appears to suffer from some form of advanced dementia and is in precarious health. The Tea Party candidate McDaniel has been dishing out an avalanche of oppo over recent days including a very weird article in Breitbart which in the guise of talking about spending on congressional trips was clearly intended to suggest that Cochran is having an affair.

But now things have gotten really dark and weird (yes, we're on a very relative scale here.) A pro-McDaniel blogger, Clayton Thomas Kelly, was just arrested for breaking into the nursing home where Cochran's wife lives, videotaping her and then posting the video. Remember, this is an elderly woman who I'm told is in a fairly advanced vegetative state. So in addition to being a serious felony it is just ugly and awful in human terms.

So Kelly got arrested and obviously it's an embarrassment for the McDaniel campaign since he's a supporter, appears to have had some level of contact with the campaign if not necessarily a relationship and seems to have been trying to advance (in a colossally weird and immoral way) the same wife/aide something something something story the McDaniel campaign has been pushing with the reporters.

But here's where it gets dicey for the McDaniel campaign and where Cochran's supporters have pounced. It's pretty clear they knew the details of what happened before the news of what happened became public - mainly because McDaniel's campaign manager called her counterpart to commiserate and distance McDaniel from the incident. McDaniel himself also seems to have told reporters he'd only just learned of the story when his campaign manager had said he'd been bummed about it since he heard about it the night before.

Of course the McDaniel camp denies having any advanced knowledge of this break in:

"The McDaniel campaign found out about the break in when a local political blog posted about it at 11:40 p.m. last night," McDaniel spokesman Noel Fritsch said in a statement Saturday afternoon. "Senator McDaniel has denounced the break-in and called Senator Cochran to extend his condolences. It is unconscionable for the Cochran campaign and the liberal media to use the act of a sick individual to lob despicable accusations."

Yeah just because your campaign manager offers condolences about a blogger breaking into your opponent's wife's nursing home before the police release a public statement about it, doesn't mean you knew about it ahead of time, or had anything to do with it, right?

You know I don't necessarily follow Mississippi primary races all that carefully, but it kind of dawned on me that the name Chris McDaniels sounded kind of familiar.

Guess why:

Governor Sarah Palin today announced her endorsement of Chris McDaniel, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Mississippi, in his bid to unseat six-term incumbent Senator Thad Cochran.

“I am truly humbled that Governor Palin has honored my request for her to join my campaign in this fight for liberty in Mississippi,” said McDaniel of the endorsement.

Damn, that Palin curse is one nasty bitch.

Senator Chuck Schumer to Hillary Clinton, “If you run, you’ll win and we’ll all win.”

Courtesy of Politico:

New York Sen. Chuck Schumer on Saturday urged Hillary Clinton to run for president, calling 2016 “Hillary’s time.”

“Run Hillary run,” the Democrat was expected to say at an Iowa dinner, according to prepared remarks. “If you run, you’ll win and we’ll all win.”

Schumer’s comments about his former Senate colleague and the former secretary of State were slated for delivery at the closely watched Jefferson Jackson dinner, a high-profile gathering of Democratic Iowa activists.

Clinton, a top 2016 possibility and current Democratic frontrunner, has made a slew of public appearances recently. She’s hit the campaign trail for Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, and given a series of speeches at universities and other events held by organizations including the Center for American Progress.

Schumer went on to paint Clinton as the party’s best hope for combating the tea party — a movement he slammed repeatedly in the remarks.

“With a strong platform and with Hillary leading the charge, we will vanquish the Ted Cruz, tea party Republicans in 2016,” he said. “And create a generation of Democrats who will make sure the middle class gets what it needs, our country advances and the torch held by that beautiful lady in New York’s harbor burns more brightly than ever.”

I kind of have to agree with Schumer here.

If Hillary runs, she WILL win.

And once she wins, we ALL win.

Australian politician who drew comparisons to Sarah Palin due to her ignorance withdraws her candidacy. She quit? Wow, she IS like Sarah Palin!

Courtesy of ABC Net:

One Nation candidate Stephanie Banister, who made international headlines after describing Islam as a country, has pulled out of the federal election race.

The party has confirmed that Ms Banister is no longer seeking election in the Queensland seat of Rankin.

One Nation leader Jim Savage says she was not disendorsed, but made the decision to withdraw following ridicule and threats.

"Stephanie Banister has withdrawn her nomination to stand following the disgraceful way she has been portrayed by recent media [and] ridicule over a minor gaffe in a statement she made to Channel Seven," he said in a statement to the ABC.

Well she may be like Palin for quitting, but she is NOT like our usual politicians in that she was embarrassed enough to leave office.

If only Anthony Wiener would take a page out of her book.

There is also some talk that she was threatened, but I always reserve judgement on that as a lot of these crazy people claim to have been harassed and threatened when in fact they exaggerated the incidents or made them up altogether.

Well good for you Australia! You dodged a crazy ass bullet with that one!

Now we will just wait for the next politician to idiotic things and watch the Palin comparisons start all over again. Cause you KNOW they will.

South Dakota Senatorial candidate mocked by newspaper after having picture taken with Sarah Palin.

Here is the headline from the article:

Bosworth cozies up to Palin.

Followed up by this:

This one picture sums up the Bosworth campaign: Say anything for attention and money. (And BosworthForSenate.com still does nothing but ask for money.)

It's pretty funny that just the very image posing with Palin dismisses this person as a serious candidate.

Not that Dr. Annette Bosworth did not already have skeletons in her closet:

Sioux Falls Doctor Annette Bosworth made her candidacy official Tuesday. The 41-year-old physician will campaign against former Governor Mike Rounds and state Senator Larry Rhoden in next June's primary.

Bosworth has been in and out of the headlines the past several months while fighting to keep her medical license for employing an assistant without the proper agreements in place. But Bosworth believes those experiences have made her battle tested and she is touting her career as a physician as an asset for her candidacy.

Ah almost losing your license for breaking the law, sounds EXACTLY like somebody who would seek an endorsement or photo-op from Sarah Palin.

By the way speaking of Palin this photo was sent to to me with the caption; "Palin tried the 'do you know who I am?' bit at Denver airport to try and get an earlier flight. Ours was delayed by 3 hours."

The sad fact for Palin's future is that fewer and fewer people remember who she is, and those who do really don't give a shit.

Teabaggers hoping to tap pro-wrestler for Tennessee Senate seat. Well they're already a circus, why not invite another clown?

Courtesy of the Daily Caller (Warning this link takes you to the Daily Caller!):

Glenn Jacobs, the seven-foot-tall professional wrestler better known as Kane, just might be the next Republican senator from Tennessee.

The former WWE world champion (And uncompensated Daily Caller columnist.) is already being touted by Tennessee tea-party groups as the man who can beat moderate GOP  in 2014.

“It’s well known that Lamar Alexander is considered by most as a RINO (Republican In Name Only),” reads a late-May statement from the Tennessee Alliance of TEA Party & Liberty Groups. “If Mr. Jacobs actually announces his candidacy against Alexander, with such a famous name known around the world, this would be a prime situation for ALL of the Tennessee TEA Parties to strongly support his candidacy.”

Jacobs insists he has “no plans to run at this point.” But, at the same time, he is not prepared to rule it out.

“Of course I know what’s going to happen is the media at first would treat this like a joke,” Jacobs says of his potential candidacy. “There would be a lot of interest in it, but it wouldn’t be taken seriously in that respect, but that’s okay — because I think as it would move along they would find out that I do understand, and I do care, very, very, very deeply. But are those enough to be able to win? Because, frankly, if I’m going to do it, that would be my goal.”

“So you know, there would just have to be a lot of things put in to place, and certainly my family would have to be comfortable with it,” he added.

By the way Lamar Alexander votes with his party 89%  of the times and seems to be a good solid Republican representing a very red state, However he has attracted the ire of the Tea party for pushing the idea of an internet tax.

As we know the Teabaggers are allergic to even the IDEA of a tax, and that has apparently angered them into trying to recruit a man whose claim to fame is pretending to fight in a ring surrounded by hillbillies and inbreds.

You know what? THAT might just be the prefect preparation for representing the Teabaggers in the Senate.

New Quinnipiac polls shows Hillary Clinton destroying top potential Republican candidates.

Courtesy of Quinnipiac:

Hillary Clinton would defeat three potential Republican presidential candidates if the 2016 presidential election were held today, with New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie second in a field of three Democrats and three Republicans selected by Quinnipiac University for a national poll released today.

Vice President Joseph Biden and New York's Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo would not fare nearly as well, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

The Republicans tested also include Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.

Former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State Clinton wins easily against any of the Republicans, topping Christie 45 - 37 percent; leading Rubio 50 - 34 percent and besting Ryan 50 - 38 percent.

"Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would start a 2016 presidential campaign with enormous advantages," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "She obviously is by far the best known and her more than 20 years in the public spotlight allows her to create a very favorable impression on the American people. But it is worth noting that she had very good poll numbers in 2006 looking toward the 2008 election, before she faced a relative unknown in Barack Obama."

Yeah but let's face it, NONE of these three is on par with Barack Obama. Not even close!

Besides THIS Hillary has much more gravitas and respect than the Hillary of 2008 could even have hoped for. In other words, this is NOT your parent's Hillary Clinton anymore.

Here is my prediction.

I think that barring any serious health concerns that Hillary runs in 2016. NOBODY with numbers like this, who has wanted it as long as Hillary has, could possibly walk away from this opportunity.

If she does I doubt that either Christie of Rubio will decide to take her on.

However if she does run all eyes will turn to Jeb Bush who the Republicans will see as their ONLY shot at taking back the White House. (With a shiny new female VP in tow as well.)

And I think Jeb is ready for this fight. He MUST already know that Hillary will be the Democrat's choice and yet he is not at all shy about letting people know that he intends to run. I think that his cons far outweigh his pros however, and though he might be able to put up a better fight than ANY other potential GOP contender, in the end he is destined to hit the canvas like a wet bag of cement. "Whap!"

All I can say for sure is that, for Democrats at least, 2016 is looking very good indeed.

Disheveled Mitt Romney spotted pumping his own gas in California. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Courtesy of UPI.com:

Trending on Reddit today is this photo of what user mkb95 says is the defeated presidential candidate pumping his own gas at a station in La Jolla, CA -- sans Secret Service protection. "Mitt Romney at my local gas station.. he looks tired and washed up," the tagline reads.

"I talked to him for a good three minutes while he was filling his tank. I guess he's moving to on(e) of his houses in the town I live in, La Jolla," mkb95 added.

Wow! When was the last time you saw such an appropriate photograph of a beaten candidate?

No staff on hand.

No Secret Service protection.

Apparently no hair gel.

Just a cranky old man, in a wrinkled shirt, pumping his own gas, in the middle of the night. You know, almost like one of those 47% people.

By the way this was not the ONLY recent sighting of RMoney. He and his lovely bride were also spotted by TMZ attending the latest installment of the Twilight series, or like I refer to it "the death of the vampire movie."

By the way you can totally tell it's them by how out of focus they are. Try as I might I could simply never make out exactly WHO Mitt Romney was

The excuse I hear for WHY the couple attended this Emo soft porn, was in support of fellow Mormon Stephanie Meyer who wrote the books, because apparently REAL werewolves and vampires scared the goose crap out of her. So then she had to ruin it for the rest of us.

Hmm, going the a theater to watch Twilight, and cruising around California in the middle of the night. Does anybody else predict a visit to one of Marcus Bachmann's anti-gay therapy clinics in Mitt's near future?

I'm just saying.
