Anti-Islamic groups plan armed protests outside mosques all over the country this weekend. Oh that should be helpful.

Pro-gun Islamophobe  Jon Ritzheimer
Courtesy of TPM:

The anti-Islam sentiment that has crept into the mainstream political dialogue in recent weeks may hit a boiling point this weekend, as planned protests outside mosques and Islamic centers across the nation coincide with the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March in Washington, D.C.

A Facebook page called "Global Rally for Humanity" appeared in August urging "patriots" to organize protests at their local mosques on Friday and Saturday. "Global Rally for Humanity" appears to have ties to John Ritzheimer, who rose to prominence among anti-Muslim activists when he organized a protest and "Draw Mohammad" contest in May in Phoenix. Known for his bizarre antics, he recently attracted the attention of U.S. Capitol Police when he vowed in an open letter to arrest Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) over her support for the Iranian nuclear deal.

It's unclear whether Ritzheimer himself organized the event. He said in a Facebook video posted Aug. 9 that he and others were "planning a global rally to protest against radical Islam," citing contacts in Canada, Australia and Europe. He also encouraged interested protesters to bring their weapons.

"We’re not going to make you travel," he said in the video. "If you’ve got a mosque in your city, a mosque in your state, you go there. You voice your opinion there."

This is America so of course people are allowed to stage protests, but exactly WHAT are these idiots protesting?

Like many people I think that the atrocities perpetuated around the world in the name of Islam are horrible. Just like I feel that the atrocities directed toward gay people in Africa in the name of Christianity are horrible.

I just don't see how protesting a non-violent mosque in America addresses problems associated with the Islamic religion in other countries?

And asking people to bring their guns? That is just a recipe for disaster.

According to a recent poll one third of  Republicans want to make Islam illegal in this country, and nearly half want to make Christianity the official religion in America.

So is THAT the goal for these yahoos? To simply make it so inhospitable here in America that the Muslims will pack up and leave the country? Or are they attempting to start a fight in order to elicit a violent response?

That would explain the guns wouldn't it?

It's not bad enough that half the world seems to be engaged in one holy war or another, now these knuckle draggers want to start one in our country as well.

Bill O'Reilly does the bidding of ISIS and declares that America is in a holy war with Islam.

Courtesy of Alternet:

Last night, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly finally gave ISIS what it wants: a declaration that the West and Middle East are, indeed, in a holy war.

In a segment titled, “The Holy War Begins,” O'Reilly used the recent murders of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians to slam President Obama's approach to ISIS, and quoted a list of religious leaders, including Roman Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who warned that ISIS threatens “civilization, everything that is decent and noble about humanity. It is a worldwide crisis that cannot, must not, be ignored.”

O'Reilly then ran through the gamut of this week's right-wing complaints about Obama.
These ranged from critiques of the State Department's Marie Harf's statement that ISIS cannot be defeated solely with military means, to a bizarre critique that the White House somehow did not recognize that the 21 Egyptians murdered by terrorists were Christian. He concluded with the statement that “the Holy War is here and unfortunately it seems the president will be the last one to acknowledge it.”

As Alternet points out this is the culmination of weeks of frothing at the mouth from Fox News hosts and commentators.

Which is easily demonstrated by one of the head mouth frothers, Todd Starnes:

You know - the world would be a much safer place if the Obama administration hated Islamic extremists as much as they do Fox News.

And then there's Franklin Graham:

"His mother was married to a Muslim, his father was a Muslim. Then she married a man from Indonesia. He was raised in Indonesia. Went to Islamic schools. I assume she was a Muslim," Graham said. "So his whole life, his experiences have been surrounded by Islam. He only knows Islam. And he has given a pass to Islam. He is refusing to understand the evil that is in front of him."

You know the President has been very careful to choose his words in order to condemn that acts of these men while not condemning the religion they hide behind.

Which is just what he did again yesterday:

President Barack Obama, speaking at his summit on countering violent extremism Wednesday, sought to strike a balance between appealing for more acceptance of Muslim-Americans while emphasizing the need to remain vigilant against radicals who could turn violent.

"We are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam," Obama said during his remarks, adding later that Muslim leaders "need to do more to discredit the notion that our nations are determined to suppress Islam."

Obama went to lengths before the summit began to avoid linking extremism to the Muslim faith; his intent, aides say, was to avoid giving credence to the ideologies of Islamic State or al Qaeda terrorists.

Look as all of you well know I have been aggressively critical of ALL religions on this blog, and I really do think that currently followers of Islam seem to be the most easily directed toward violence in the world.

However what O'Reilly and Fox News are doing is unconscionable in that it plays right into the hands of a group of people who are desperate to create the idea of a war between Christians and Muslims in order to help with recruitment and to justify terrorists acts.

It seems to me that these agitators could care less if their rhetoric results in the deaths of more American soldiers, prolongs the conflict with ISIS, or inspires terrorist attacks in America.

All they care about is pandering to the fears of their base, and attempting to undermine the President's attempts to approach these complicated issues like a grown up.

Personally I think that if Todd Starnes, Franklin Graham, and Bill O'Reilly are so anxious to start a holy war that we need to outfit them with a crucifix, a rifle, and a Bible and send their flabby asses to the front line where they can all become martyrs for the cause.

Sarah Palin, and her cub Bristol, pimping a Fox News exploitation piece while doubling down on calls for a religious war with Islam.

This from Joan of the Arctic's Facebook page:

Be sure to tune in tomorrow at 7pm ET to FOX for Greta's special on the persecution of Christians around the globe.

She then links to Bristol's ghostwritten blog, which in turn posts a video of Greta Van Susteren  promoting the Christians Under Attack special appearing on Fox tonight. (Palin also posted a video previously

Of course as we know Christians are certainly being brutalized in Iraq by the ISIL, however they are far from the only group that is being targeted and in fact they are not the ones being targeted the most aggressively.

As I wrote last Saturday, the Iraqi people under attack include not just the Christians, but the Yazidi, Turkmen, Shaback, and Kurds.

As it turns out the Yazidi were the group most in danger and the Obama administration reached out to protect them and it appears that may have been successful.

However both the Palins and Fox News seem to be actively ignoring the fact that this ISIL group is going after all kinds of groups that it finds offensive to its political and religious beliefs, and are instead focusing on the Christians in an attempt to fan Islamophobia in this country.

This is an incredibly divisive and potentially dangerous tactic as it encourages people in America to think of the conflict in Iraq not as genocide, but instead as a religious conflict in which they have a vested interest because it involves "their" religious brothers and sisters.

I swear Sarah Palin and Fox News will not be happy until American forces show up in force on Iraqi soil to beat the infidels to death with steel covered Bibles while yelling at them to repent their sins and accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.

P.S. By the way Brancy offered up a way for people to help stop the "Christian massacre in Iraq," which included prayer, giving money to a religious organization, and signing a petition started by a Christian organization.

So in other words you can help by doing everything you can think of that falls short of actual help.

Sarah Palin quotes scripture while demanding that the President sacrifice more American lives to "secure America above all else."

Courtesy of Mary Megadeath's Facebook page:

For such a time as this, our finest need our support; demand the Commander in Chief prioritize troop needs to secure America above all else.

The quote above is attributed to David who was calling upon his God to help him to smite his enemies.

Which of course is exactly what modern day Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing as well right now.  Only they are praying to Allah to help rid themselves of Christians.

In fact right now ISIS is on a rampage through Iraq trying to eradicate Christianity altogether in their homeland. And in response there has been much outrage here in the United States, and among other Christian nations, to stand up and defend their Christian brothers and sisters.

There are great atrocities being committed against innocent men, women, and children, that is to be sure. And I agree that something needs to be done to stop it.

However ISIS has been targeting not only Christians but ANY people living in Iraq who they do not find worthy, including the Yazidi, Turkmen, Shaback, and Kurds.

Many of these people are also Muslim, yet ISIS does not consider them "pure" enough to live unmolested in their country. They either demand that they convert to their brand of Islam, or they kill them outright.

So if the United States, is going to intervene (And by the way we ARE intervening.), it must do so as a response to ethnic cleansing and on behalf of human rights. NOT as a Christian nation coming to the aid of its fellow Christians.

THAT only feeds into the idea of a giant religious war, which is exactly what ISIS is hoping for.

So little bullshit Facebook posts by Palin and other Christian zealots do nothing but inflame religious outrage and cause people to put their faith ahead of their humanity.

The last thing we need to do is engage in another Christian crusade.

George W. Bush already tried that once, and we are still dealing with the fallout to this day.

Evangelical calls for Christians to martyr themselves in war to save America from "pagan onslaught." I don't think I like the sound of this.

This from World Net Daily:

“Throughout Scripture, the only power that can overcome the seemingly invincible omnipotence of a Babel or a Beast is the power of martyrdom, the power of the witness to King Jesus to the point of loss and death. American Christianity has not done a good job of producing martyrs, and that is because we have done such an outstanding job of nurturing Americanists who regret that they have only one life to give for their country. Americanists cannot break Babelic or bestial power because they cannot distinguish heretical Americanism from Christian orthodoxy. Until we do, America will lurch along the path that leads from Babel to Beast. If America is to be put in its place – put right – Christians must risk martyrdom and force Babel to the crux where it has to decide either to acknowledge Jesus an imperator and the church as God’s imperium or to begin drinking holy blood.”

The above is a quote from  Peter J. Leithart’s “Between Babel and the Beast.” This portion is not:

Where are the champions of Christ to save the nation from the pagan onslaught imposing homosexual marriage, homosexual scouts, 60 million babies done to death by abortion and red ink as far as the eye can see on America? Who will wage war for the Soul of America and trust the living God to deliver the pagan gods into our hands and restore America to her Judeo-Christian heritage and re-establish a Christian culture?

Let’s make it crystal clear: Those who embrace homosexual marriage and homosexual Scouting – or homosexuality in general – know little and practice nothing of Christianity. Notwithstanding Sen. Rob Portman – or the 1,400 Boy Scout delegates who buckled – Christian love is regulated not by impulse, but by principle. “We hence conclude, that not only the reprobates ought to be reproved, severely, and with sharp earnestness, but also the elect themselves, even those whom we deem to be children of God.” [John Calvin]

As to the future of America – and the collapse of this once-Christian nation – Christians must not only be allowed to have opinions, but politically, Christians must be retrained to war for the Soul of America and quit believing the fabricated whopper of the “Separation of Church and State,” the lie repeated ad nauseum by the left and liberals to keep Christian America – the moral majority – from imposing moral government on pagan public schools, pagan higher learning and pagan media. Bill Bennett’s insight, “… the two essential questions Plato posed as: Who teaches the children, and what do we teach them?” requires deep thought, soul-searching and a response from Christian America to the secular, politically correct and multicultural false gods imposing their religion on America’s children.

And just in case you were not certain where Lane was going with this, here is how he ended this psychotic commentary:

You ask, “What is our goal?” To wage war to restore America to our Judeo-Christian heritage with all of our might and strength that God will give us. You ask, “What is our aim?” One word only: victory, in spite of all intimidation and terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, America will ultimately collapse.

So essentially, according to this wingnut, America IS a Christian nation despite the words of the Founders themselves to the contrary, and the only hope for its salvation is for Christians to martyr themselves while waging war on...well on everybody else.

So as America becomes less and less a nation defined by its Christian faith, and our young people turn away from the prejudice and hatred embraced by their parents, the solution to that "problem," according to this lunatic, is to wage a holy war and FORCE their beliefs on people who do not readily accept them.

Who needs to worry about the Taliban? We apparently have our very own version right here in America.

Oh by the way just in case you think that the author's name, David Lane, sounds familiar, well it just might. You see he has worked with Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Michelle Bachmann, and Rand Paul, just to name a few. You see in certain circles this point of view is NOT considered insane.
