The National Enquirer has taken a swing at President Donald Trump‘s embattled attorney, Michael Cohen.
The tabloid has long had a reputation of serving as Trump’s media fixer, running salacious headlines such as “Hillary Framed Trump Family!” and “Proof! FBI Plot to Impeach Trump!” however, it is the first time it has turned on Trump’s legal fixer, Cohen.
The publication’s parent company, American Media Inc., run by Trump-pal David Pecker, is also currently being sued by Playboy model Karen McDougal. She claims that AMI offered to buy the story of her alleged affair with Trump for $150,000, to then not publish it — known as a catch and kill agreement.
The headline of the Enquirer’s latest cover, which reads “Trump Fixer’s Secrets and Lies!” also comes in the wake of Trump attempting to distance himself from his longtime attorney.
Make no mistake, if the National Enquirer has turned on Trump's fixer, that is because Donald Trump gave them the go ahead to do so.
Which means that Trump is tossing Cohen under the bus, and any loyalty that Cohen might feel toward his boss is completely misplaced.
So now we just have to wait and see how long it takes before Cohen and Mueller come together for their version of "Let's Make a Deal."
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Ammosexuals are murdering their coolers because they dared cut ties with the NRA. No, I am not joking.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
National Rifle Association backers are outraged over claims a company decided to cut ties with the organization, so they’ve started blowing up their products.
Yeti, a Texas-based outfit for outdoor gear, is known for its pricey coolers which can cost more than $1,000 each. The company had been offering discounts to the NRA, but once those deals were ended, the NRA said Yeti was engaging in a boycott. That prompted owners of Yeti products to lash out, crushing, shooting and blowing up their purchases, The Washington Post reported.
The source of the boycott claims was a letter from the NRA Institute for Legislative Action stating that Yeti was the latest in a series of companies to end business with the organization following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, FL, the Post said.
Footage of NRA advocates above shows two women destroying a Yeti cooler in what’s being dubbed the ‘#YetiCoolerChallenge,’ then stating, “Yeti does not support the NRA, so we do not support Yeti.”
So let me see if I understand this.
If a company chooses to break ties with an organization that lobbies for gun manufacturers due to gun violence, these supporters of that organization respond with gun violence?
Good thinking.
Speaking of good thinking as it turns out the Yeti folks actually did NOT cut their ties with the NRA.
Though I would think they might be reconsidering that decision now.

Ex-Forbes writer recalls how Donald Trump called him posing as "John Barron" and then lied to get on the Forbes 400 list.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
“No one could imagine the unimaginable,” said writer Jonathan Greenberg Friday on CNN. “No one can imagine someone would do this, call as their own PR person.”
But it happened, of course. And Greenberg was one of those duped by President Donald Trump into believing he was talking to The Donald’s PR flack, “John Barron” — when, in fact, he was talking to The Donald. Greenberg was reporting for Forbes in 1984, helping to compile the magazine’s Forbes 400 List. As part of a piece for the Washington Post Friday, Greenberg shared audio of his calls with Barron, and recalled how the mogul tried to convince the magazine he was worth more than he actually was.
'Although Trump altered some cadences and affected a slightly stronger New York accent, it was clearly him. “Barron” told me that Trump had taken possession of the business he ran with his father, Fred. “Most of the assets have been consolidated to Mr. Trump,” he said. “You have down Fred Trump [as half owner] . . . but I think you can really use Donald Trump now.” Trump, through this sockpuppet, was telling me he owned “in excess of 90 percent” of his family’s business. With all the home runs Trump was hitting in real estate, Barron told me, he should be called a billionaire.'
Greenberg also referred to Trump as the "consummate con man." Which is something that I think is more than obvious to most of us.
I have to think at some point there will come a time when the people who voted for Donald Trump, and this might be a few years in the future, are really going to start hating themselves for being so fucking gullible.
Don't you think?
Or am I giving them too much credit?

Michael Cohen killed a US Weekly article about Donald Trump Jr's affair back in 2013. Update!
Courtesy of Mediaite:
Another day, another story Trump lawyer Michael Cohen had to kill about a Trump family member having a scandalous affair.
This time, the Wall Street Journal reports that Cohen killed an Us Weekly story being prepared in 2013 on Donald Trump Jr.’s alleged affair with pop singer Aubrey O’Day.
Don Jr., President Donald Trump’s adult son, was a year earlier a judge on Celebrity Apprentice while O’Day was a contestant.
Here is how the US Weekly staff characterized their interactions with Cohen:
“We were all on speakerphone and huddled around the phone,” this person said. “He was just one of these New York characters where he was just like swearing at us and totally over-the-top threatening.”
The magazine’s staff didn’t believe it was a big story that would be worth a legal fight and had a good working relationship with the elder Mr. Trump on stories related to the TV show “The Apprentice,” so they dropped the story.
So verbal abuse and threats, that sounds like the Michael Cohen method.
Speaking of Michael Cohen, his lawyers are flipping their proverbial shit about that FBI raid.
Courtesy of ABC News:
Lawyers for President Donald Trump's personal attorney say investigators "took everything" during raids last week on his residence and office.
The lawyers wrote in a court filing Monday that the raids a week ago to gather evidence from attorney Michael Cohen were "completely unprecedented."
They said investigators seized more than a dozen electronic devices and other items including documents and data unrelated to the probable cause upon which the search warrants were based.
The letter demanded Trump and Cohen's lawyers be allowed to decide which items seized are protected by attorney-client privilege before criminal prosecutors see them.
Gee I wonder if that bit about Junior's extramarital affair is part of what got scooped up?
The hearing over this is scheduled for today, and rumor has it that a Miss Stormy Daniels may be in attendance.
Should be a fun day for one and all.
Update: Let's also keep this in mind.

While Stormy Daniels describes the thug who threatened her to a sketch artist, her lawyer files papers to depose Donald Trump.

Appearing on New Day Monday, Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti (well into his 16th minute by now) told Alisyn Camerota that he’s ramping up the efforts to locate the man who is alleged to have approached his client in a Las Vegas parking lot and threatened her to keep silent about her alleged affair with Donald Trump.
“[M]y client sat down with Lois Gibson. she’s the foremost forensic artist in the world,” Avenatti said. “She has..a world record for the number of IDs. A composite sketch has been produced.. We’re gonna be releasing that tomorrow, along with a significant reward asking that the public come forward. We are very close to identifying this individual.”
Camerota asked Avenatti if he has any proof beyond Daniels’ word that this threat took place.
“There is significant evidence that this actually happened,” Avenatti claimed. “We’re gonna release that in the coming weeks. And I’m also confident that when we release this sketch tomorrow (Which is now today.), and when we offer this sizable reward, someone is going to come forward and is going to tighten the noose, if you will, on this issue.”
In other news Avenatti also filed a new request to depose Trump.
Courtesy of The Hill:
Adult film actress Stormy Daniels's lawyer on Sunday filed a renewed motion to depose President Trump and his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, over a $130,000 payment from Cohen to Daniels before the 2016 election.
A federal judge temporarily blocked Avenatti's attempt to depose Trump on Thursday, ruling that the motion was "premature."
The new motion Avenatti filed states that Daniels’ case “centers on a dispute concerning whether a settlement agreement, containing a mutual release and terms of non-disclosure, was ever formed between the parties.”
The motion calls for a deposition for both Trump and Cohen of no more than two hours and requests various documents concerning the non-disclosure agreement.
Well Monday is certainly turning out to be a little stressful for Donald Trump.

CNN's Brian Stetler points out the damage done by Donald Trump's "Addiction to Fox News."
Courtesy of Mediaite:
CNN’s Brian Stelter today opened by talking about how President Trump‘s “addiction to Fox” is having a lot of real-world consequences.
He brought up the past week of big news on immigration and troops being sent to the border, following the President’s tweet after watching a segment on Fox News.
“The line where Fox News ends and where Trump begins,” Stelter said, “is getting blurrier by the day.”
He brought up the initial Fox News coverage, followed by the primetime coverage, of the migrant “caravan” as indicative of how Trump’s “addiction to Fox and to other pro-Trump commentators leads to impulsive actions.”
Stelter said deploying the National Guard to the border is a “PR stunt” for a President who “wants to give his Fox friends something to celebrate.”
Very well said.
Donald Trump is addicted to fake news and conspiracy theories, and what better place to find them than Fox News? (Well, besides Info Wars of course.)
If Trump were just an every day citizen this might be a pain in the ass to his family, but probably nothing more.
But as America's Commander-in-Chief Donald Trump can take the bullshit from Fox News and weaponize it to cause real harm to our country, and our country's allies.

Attorney for Stormy Daniels says that she can describe Donald Trump's genitalia in "great detail."
(Relevant portion starts at around the 9:00 mark.)
Courtesy of Mediaite:
Michael Avenatti, the lawyer to porn star Stephanie Clifford (better known as Stormy Daniels), said in a Wednesday interview with Megyn Kelly Today that his client has a whole lot more to say about her alleged affair with the president.
The interview arrived after a 60 Minutes segment featuring Clifford in March, in which she described her interactions with Trump and claimed to have sex with the president shortly after the birth of his youngest son. In the segment, host Anderson Cooper focused largely on the timeline of events, as well as the threat she said she received in the parking lot of a fitness class while in the midst of sharing her story on Trump with a tabloid magazine years before the election.
Apparently, there’s a lot left to be told about the affair.
“When she sat for that interview, it actually lasted over two hours in length … the portion that the American public saw was only about 14 or 16 minutes,” Avenatti said Wednesday. “CBS, they’re a conservative network. There’s a lot of information that was said that did not make it into the final 60 Minutes piece.”
“For instance, she can describe the president’s genitalia in great detail, that did not make it into the piece,” he added.
God I hate Megyn Kelly, who I still think is carrying water for the conservatives, but I thought that this interview was interesting and worthy of being shared.
I actually think that one of Trump's greatest fears is for one of the many women who saw his penis describing it on national television.

Ted Nugent claims that Parkland students have "no soul."
Courtesy of Mediaite:
Appearing on Newsmax’s The Joe Pags Show, the guitarist/conservative commentator let host Joe Pagliarulo know what he thought about the Parkland shooting survivors who have become outspoken gun reform activists. And, umm, yeah.
Describing them as “poor mushy brained children who have been fed lies” and that they’re “committing spiritual suicide” by recommending gun control, Nugent went so far as to label David Hogg and others as lacking a soul.
After Pagliarulo played some clips of Hogg and Emma Gonzalez speaking out against the NRA on CNN, Nugent railed against the media, liberals and the kids.
“The dumbing down of America is manifested in the culture deprivation of our academia that have taught these kids the lies, media that have prodded and encouraged and provided these kids lies,” the ‘Wang Dang Sweet Poontang’ singer exclaimed. “I really feel sorry for them because it’s not only ignorant and dangerously stupid, but it’s soulless.”
He continued, “To attack the good law-abiding families of America when well known predictable murderers commit these horrors is deep in the category of soulless. These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul.”
So it's a little hard to follow the theme here, but I think that what Nugent is trying to say here is that children fighting to protect others from gun violence are soulless.
Because you know, THAT makes all kinds of sense.
You know I think ole "Poopy pants" here dropped an extra load in his drawers after watching of these kids on social media, and is a blind panic that they actually might help to pass laws that will keep him from accessing the military style weapons, flame throwers, and rocket launchers that he needs to help him feel like a REAL man.

Donald Trump's attorney is continuing to use intimidation to silence adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Courtesy of NBC News:
President Donald Trump's lawyer is trying to silence adult-film star Stormy Daniels, obtaining a secret restraining order in a private arbitration proceeding and warning that she will face penalties if she publicly discusses a relationship with the president, NBC News has learned.
The new pressure on Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, comes a day after she filed a lawsuit in a Los Angeles court alleging that a nondisclosure agreement she made to keep quiet about an "intimate" relationship with Trump is invalid because he never signed it.
Tuesday's lawsuit says that Trump attorney Michael Cohen — who brokered the agreement with Clifford during the presidential campaign — attempted to "intimidate" Clifford and "shut her up" by initiating what it calls a "bogus arbitration proceeding" against her in Los Angeles on Feb. 27.
On that day, Cohen obtained a temporary restraining order against Clifford from the private arbitrator, a retired judge, which bars her from disclosing "confidential information" related to the nondisclosure agreement signed in October 2016, according to a copy of the order obtained by NBC News.
Okay so here's a silly question.
If Donald Trump never had a sexual relationship with this woman, as the White House has stated repeatedly, what is the need to keep this woman from telling her, apparently false, story?
And, once again a silly question, why would anybody pay $130,000 to prevent her from telling it in the first place?
By the way as it turns out Sarah Huckabee Sanders was not supposed to spill the beans about that arbitration yesterday.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
President Donald Trump is reportedly somewhat less than thrilled with his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, for her comments during Wednesday’s briefing addressing the Stormy Daniels story.
According to CNN’s Abby Phillip (citing reporting from Jim Acosta), Trump believes that Sanders essentially breathed life into the Stormy Daniels controversy with her Wednesday remarks.
“According to this source, Sarah Sanders’ comments were essentially putting the Stormy Daniels storyline on steroids yesterday,” Phillip said.
Oops, Rachel Maddow better make more room on her wall, because it looks like another White House staff may get tossed to the curb.
Damn, this Stormy Daniels story is getting more interesting by the day.

CNN reports that Hope Hicks suddenly decided to quit after being berated by Donald Trump.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
On Tuesday, White House Communications Director Hope Hicks reportedly admitted to the House Intelligence Committee that she’s told “white lies” for President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, she announced her resignation.
A new report suggests the two developments may not be unrelated.
According to CNN, Trump was furious with the head of his communications shop following her testimony. In a report presented on OutFront with Erin Burnett, the host (citing an unnamed person identified as a Trump ally) said that the president “berated” Hicks following her testimony on Tuesday.
“That source telling me Hicks departure was sudden,” Burnett continued. “The source saying Trump berated Hicks after her testimony to Congress yesterday, you know, the nine hours in which she admitted to telling lies on behalf of the president.”
“According to the source, Trump asked Hicks after the testimony, how she could she be so stupid,” Burnett continued. “And apparently that was the final straw for Hope Hicks.”
Of course the official story is that Hicks has been planning this move for quite some time now, but no reporter had even hinted at that. And for the leakiest White House in America's history that simply did not pass the smell test.
So if this report is correct that Hicks was Trump's "last emotional crutch," and that she is abruptly leaving him high and dry after he berated her, I have no idea how much worse things are about to get inside that White House.

Here is Donald Trump demonstrating all of that courage to protect others that he was bragging about.
Courtesy of Mediaite:Donald Trump boards Air Force One in the rain holding a large umbrella — wife and son trail behind pic.twitter.com/esWTEr7lvR— Jon Levine (@LevineJonathan) February 27, 2018
President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One tugging an umbrella close to protect himself from the intense wind and rain.
Barron Trump, the president’s 11-year-old son, is seen just feet behind him, unprotected by an umbrella or a raincoat. Trump, seeing his son, continues to keep the umbrella for himself.
Then, Melania Trump arrives on the scene a little behind Barron, and she, too, has nothing to shield her from the elements. The president stops for a wave to the crowd as the First Lady ducks swiftly onto the plane.
What began as a moving picture of Man vs. Nature turns, in mere seconds, into a scene of a man who would seemingly rather ensure that his hair is kept firmly in place than guard his family from inclement weather.
Observe my friends that man who claimed that he would rush unarmed into a hail of gunfire to protect children, yet leaves his own loved ones exposed to the elements as he protects only himself.
And his hair of course.
By the way for those who have forgotten what it was like to have a real caring leader in the White House. It was like this:

Trump White House finally accepts that Russian interference in the 2016 election is real. Now what?
Courtesy of Mediaite:
A day after it was announced that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for interfering in the 2016 presidential election, the president’s national security adviser said that it Russia meddling was abundantly clear.
“As you can see with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now really incontrovertible and available in the public domain, whereas in the past it was difficult to attribute for a couple of reasons,” National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
He added, “Whereas in the past, it was difficult to attribute for a couple of reasons. First, technically it was difficult. But then also you didn’t want to divulge your intelligence capabilities. Now that this is in the arena of a law enforcement investigation, it’s going to be very apparent to everyone.”
Before this of course Trump and his lackey's kept refusing to completely accept the findings of the intelligence agencies.
Now that it is laid out in those indictments made public yesterday it appears they have no real choice.
Of course Trump's response to this was to totally misread (Or more likely mishear.) the indictments as vindicating him of collusion.
And since this indictment did not include allegations of collusion, Fox News has decided to take a victory lap:
Boom. The Democratic Trump-Russia collusion narrative is dead.
Now if you have been paying attention to this Mueller investigation, as I have, you may have noticed that Mueller seems to like to allow the Trump folks to get way out on a creaky limb right before he takes an axe to it.
So I would not be at all surprised if nothing noteworthy happens this weekend, allowing the Right Wing spin machine to work its magic, and that sometime next week Mueller drops the other giant loafer right on their pointy little heads.

As I pointed out yesterday that is not true.Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President. The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong - no collusion!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 16, 2018
But that has not stopped a number of Trump flunkies from appearing on cable news shows to make that same ridiculous claim.Mr. Trump, you told the Russians you'd be running for president in Moscow in November 2013—and indeed it was that declaration that led to the anti-U.S. campaign in early 2014. Cohen had made clear by mid-2013 you were running; you confirmed it to the Agalarovs and Yulya Alferova. https://t.co/UyjT9QMqbE— Seth Abramson (@SethAbramson) February 16, 2018

Watching Sean Hannity do a 180 on the "Trump wanted to fire Mueller" story, while still minimizing it, is probably the best thing you will see all day.
Courtesy of Mediaite:This made my day. Hannity says he has sources that say Trump didn’t try to fire Mueller. Then minutes later he confirms the fact Trump tried to fire Mueller. He looks like he’s in shock. It’s worth watching on repeat. Tick tock, @SeanHannity. #FireHannity pic.twitter.com/lVsV4pcm1d— Scott Dworkin (@funder) January 26, 2018
When addressing the report on his Fox News show, Hannity claimed that the story was a plot to distract people from the more important story of the day, corruption at the FBI.
“At this hour, the New York Times is trying to distract you,” Hannity said. “They have a story that Trump wanted Mueller fired some time last June and our sources — and I’ve checked in with many of them — they’ve not confirmed that tonight.”
He ended the segment by asking: “How many times has the New York Times and others gotten it wrong?”
Well, in a beautifully choreographed egg-meet-face maneuver, Hannity was forced to accept the Times story minutes later on his show, after Fox News’s own reporting confirmed it.
“So we have sources tonight just confirming to Ed Henry that yeah, maybe, Donald Trump wanted to fire the special counsel for a conflict,” Hannity said. “Does he not have the right to raise those questions?”
“We’ll deal with this tomorrow night,” Hannity noted, adding that he had a video of a high-speed car crash to get to.
"Cut to the car chase, dammit I'm dying here, where is the car chase?"
I think this is my favorite Sean Hannity moment ever.
Not that there was a lot of competition.

Rand Paul laments fact that it is hard to get anything done on immigration with everybody calling Donald Trump a racist.
Courtesy of Mediaite:Sen. @RandPaul: "You can't have immigration compromise if everybody's out there calling the president a racist." #MTP pic.twitter.com/2VW99zjER3— Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) January 14, 2018
Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press this morning, the Kentucky lawmaker told host Chuck Todd that some people in the media have gone “completely bonkers” with “ad hominem” attacks on the president over his widely condemned remarks. Paul added that he wanted to see immigration reform but felt it was difficult if folks continue to criticize Trump.
“You can’t have immigration compromise if everybody’s out there calling the president a racist,” Paul exclaimed. “They’re actually destroying the setting — and he’s a little bit of it — they’re destroying the setting in which anything meaningful can happen.”
You know he could tell Trump to stop being such a goddamn racist, instead of bitching about people acknowledging that fact on Meet the Press.
Donald Trump is a racist, and everybody knows it.
Which is why if there is any real progress made on immigration it will be made in spite of Donald Trump, not with Donald Trump's help.

Both Bretibart news and James O'Keefe believed Roy Moore's accusers, and yet they attacked them anyway in the name of politics.
Courtesy of CNN Money:Breitbart editor in chief explains that he believed Moore accuser Leigh Corfman but that they had to discredit her to protect Trump. https://t.co/ACeAGaFpd5— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) December 22, 2017
Though Marlow concedes that Breitbart made coverage decisions around protecting Trump, before the sexual misconduct allegations against Moore, Breitbart had been hammering the news media and Hollywood for supposedly protecting individuals like Harvey Weinstein. Asked about the view from critics that Breitbart had done exactly that with Moore, Marlow claimed the website has been "much more careful" than other outlets when covering ongoing allegations of sexual harassment and assault, saying the website looks for "certain factors," such as "a certain level of detail" in allegations.
Marlow also stressed that he was personally uncomfortable with the behavior attributed by The Post to Moore, and noted that he did believe the accusations from Leigh Corfman, who said Moore assaulted her while she was 14 -- they were "not perfect," he said, but had "a lot of credibility." He also noted that he, and much of the Breitbart audience, initially supported Mo Brooks in the Republican primary, and only shifted support to Moore because of his opposition to Strange as the establishment candidate. But he said he saw political motivations behind The Post's reporting on Moore and wanted to home in on the "coverage of the coverage."
So the editor-in-chief of Breitbart actually believed at least one of Moore's accusers, but because the Washington Post was accurately reporting on the allegations, and it hurt the conservative candidate, he thought it was appropriate to attack their credibility?
Now does somebody justify that while arguing that they should be taken seriously as a news outlet?
And it should come as no surprise to any of you that James O'Keefe, who you may remember had a woman pretend to be one of Roy Moore's victims in order to discredit the Washington Post reporting, had essentially the same attitude.
Courtesy of Mediaite:I spoke with James O'Keefe and he said he *actually believes* Roy Moore's accusers, even though he payed a woman to pretend to be a rape victim in a failed effort to discredit the allegations https://t.co/86E4WonAzJ— Caleb Ecarma (@calebecarma) December 22, 2017
After initially dodging questions regarding the credibility of the at least nine women who have accused Moore of sexual misconduct and predatory behavior, O’Keefe admitted to believing these claims during a sit-down interview with Mediaite.
“Yes [I believe them], but it’s not my subject matter,” said O’Keefe. “That’s not what my investigation was about. It wasn’t about the victims, it was about the bias in the media.”
Just let the irony that these two outlets justify these tactics because they are convinced that the MSM reports "fake news" sink in a little.
Do you feel that wave of nausea?
I inoculated myself against it by purchasing subscriptions to both the Washington Post and then New York Times.
We need to support factual reporting at every opportunity.
That is the only way we get our country back.

Apparently Trump has now lost Ann Coulter.
Anyone in a Southwestern state who strolls to the border & drops a brick will have done more to build the wall than @realDonaldTrump.— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017
If @VP Pence were smart, starting making noises about how he'd LOVE to build a wall. He'd be sworn in as president about 2 weeks.— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017
I thought w/ Trump we'd finally have a president helping OUR country. So far: Syria, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, China, N Kor. Today: Cuba!— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017
There are few vile creatures on this planet quite as vile as Ann Coulter, which would seem to indicate that she would stick with our racist anti-Islamic president until the bitter end.At least Cuba's in our hemisphere. How long can it be before Trump gets to America? https://t.co/vTf5osrr15— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017
So does this mean that we are indeed at the bitter end?
Or does it simply mean that Ann Coulter recognizes that the bitter end is just over the horizon and wants to cut her losses before she gets caught in the undertow as Trump's ship sinks to the inky depths?
Either way it is worth noting that even the most opportunistic hangers on are starting to break away.

Just in case you have not had enough opportunities to cringe today, here is Donald Trump congratulating a soldier for getting his leg blown off.
Courtesy of Mediaite:Pres. Trump awarded a Purple Heart on Saturday to an Army sergeant recently wounded in Afghanistan: https://t.co/MSRsIByw9Y pic.twitter.com/StQ5gJ7H6D— CBS News (@CBSNews) April 22, 2017
President Donald Trump congratulated an army sergeant for being wounded in Afghanistan during his visit to the Walter Reed Medical Center on Saturday. Except, of course, that it’s not appropriate to “congratulate” a recipient of this type of award for almost getting killed.
The president and First Lady Melania Trump met with Barrientos and his wife at the hospital, and they had a small ceremony as Trump presented the sergeant with the Purple Heart. The medal is the longstanding award bestowed upon those wounded or killed in their service to the U.S. Military.
“I heard about this and I wanted to do it myself,” said Trump. “Congratulations on behalf of Melania, myself, and the entire nation. Tremendous job.”
Not only does this soldier look like he would rather be just about any place else, but did you notice Trump slobbering on his wife?
You know I read that Trump got quite a lot of support from members of the military. I wonder how they are feeling about that vote right about now?

Chuck Todd points out that right after the press reports on ties with Russia, Donald Trump increases his attacks on the media. Things that make you go, "Hmmm."
Courtesy of Mediaite:
“One issue that doesn’t seem to hurt the president right now, at least in the eyes of his supporters, are the reported ties he and his aides may or may not have with Russia,” Todd said.
He continued, “And whenever stories break on that subject, press bashing — which is always part of the president’s arsenal — seems to escalate.”
Todd then played a prepared clip detailing numerous instances where Trump went on the attack against the media directly after mainstream press reports related to potential Russian ties. The MTP host pointed to tweets, news conferences, and speeches that were devoted almost entirely to media attacks following damning Trump-Russia stories.
You know subconsciously I think I noticed this, but having it laid out like this is very enlightening.
Clearly Trump is terrified of where this reporting will lead and is desperate to undermine the credibility of the press before it blows his presidency out of the water.

Former Mormon Tabernacle Choir singer explains why she does not feel "hysterical" in comparing Donald Trump to Hitler.
Courtesy of Mediaite:Mormon choir member who quit rather than sing for inauguration, warns of facism, compares Trump to Hitler https://t.co/URQ4jQDiiL

On CNN this morning, Carol Costello interviewed Jan Chamberlin, who quit singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir when it was announced they would be performing at the inauguration of Donald Trump. She explained in late December that she was unwilling to “throw roses to Hitler” and made it clear that she sees Trump’s comments and tactics as ones that will lead to fascism if unchecked.
“Hitler? I mean, some people say that you’ve compared Mr. Trump to Hitler and that just sounds kind of hysterical and over-the-top.”
“I don’t feel hysterical; I feel quite calm,” said Chamberlin before explaining that she felt sure about her decision not to sing.
Yeah nothing about this lady comes off as being hysterical.
In fact I think her answer was quite well thought out and on point.
Donald Trump is indeed a tyrant, and it will only be a matter of time before that fact is no longer something which can be denied.
By anybody!

Trump supporter Corey Lewandowski is asked how he can have so little self respect that he would support a bigot and a liar. The room erupted in laughter at his answer.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
The Oxford Union is a debating society that is located in Oxford, England, and its membership is drawn largely from the student body of the University of Oxford. While Lewandowski was speaking at the Union, members of the University of Oxford Student Union organized a protest outside, stating “fascists are not welcome here.”
Lewandowski was asked by one young woman how he had so little self-respect that you can stand here and defend a candidate who’s not only a bigot, but a liar who doesn’t have the courtesy to follow through,” leading to the former CNN political commentator to provide the following answer.
"Well, the good news is I’m seated doing that, so I don’t have to stand, so I appreciate that. But here’s what it comes down to: Mexico will pay for the wall, and it’s very simple."
At that of course the students began to laugh out loud, which is the response that you would expect from any person intelligent enough to be attending university.
You will also notice that he never actually answered her question about his self respect, probably because he does not possess any.
Let's face it if you are a Trump supporter you are either as dumb as a box of rocks, a racist POS, or you are being financially compensated for your loyalty.
I would imagine that Lewandowski falls into that last category, but I would not be surprised to learn that the other two pertain to him as well.
P.S. By the way the entire Q &A was stomach churning which you can see for yourself by clicking here.
