Sarah Palin applauds newly elected Senator's guts after he suggests doing away with the Senate. Did I mention he is a newly elected Senator?

This is why we respect this guy... his guts and gumption in expressing what many Americans recognize as a foundational problem resulting in an insolvent, less sovereign nation - and his commitment to taking action. 

I appreciate him taking responsibility "...to blow the whistle on these problems so Americans are aware of them." 

Thank you, Senator Ben Sasse. 

Now your first instinct after reading that Sarah Palin is impressed with somebody, should be "Oh what stupid thing did this Sasse guy do to deserve that?"

And if it was you have good instincts.

Palin's Facebook page then links to an article on the defunct Breitbart news site, and as it turns out THIS is what Ben "Soon to be out of a job" Sasse said during his maiden speech on the floor of the Senate:  

If the Senate isn’t going to be the most important venue for addressing our biggest national problems, where is that venue? Where should the people look for the long-term national prioritization? Or, to ask it of ourselves, would anything be lost if the Senate didn’t exist? Again, this a thought experiment, so let me be emphatically clear: I think a great deal would be lost if the federal government didn’t have a Senate, but game out with me the question of ‘Why?’ What precisely would be lost if we had only a House of Representatives, rather than both bodies? The growth of the administrative state, the fourth branch of government, is increasingly hollowing out the Article I branch, the legislature, and many in Congress have been complicit in this hollowing out of our own powers. So would anything really be lost if we doubled-down on Woodrow Wilson’s impulses and inclinations toward administrative efficiency by removing much of the clunky-ness of legislative process?

Now Ben Sasse is a former university president and has a Master's degree in Philosophy, so you would think he might know better than to introduce a topic as easily misrepresented as this one.

First he expects folks like Sarah Palin to understand what a "thought experiment" is when they really do not understand the concept of "thinking."

Second he is essentially attacking the very institution that he campaigned long and hard to join, which is never a good thing.

And thirdly, WTF is his point really?

Does he really think that the Congress, now overrun with moronic teabaggers, should be allowed to run amok without the checks and balances provided by the Senate?

What am I saying, this is a guy endorsed by Sarah Palin, of course he wants the government to fail.

I don't know what I was I thinking.

By the way Salon has decided that Palin would be a shoo-in as moderator of the GOP debates:   

Sarah Palin – This one seems so obvious I have to think someone has suggested it already. Palin’s proclivity for speaking in word salad that even the most powerful Star Trek universal translator likely couldn’t make sense of is well known. Anything she says would likely be a stream of babble that would trail off into nothing, leaving the candidates free to just opine about whatever talking points they would have spouted even if asked a coherent question.

They have a point.  If you wanted somebody who would not challenge the candidates with facts, or embarrass them by demonstrating a superior intellect, Sarah Palin would be the obvious choice.

God could you just imagine?

Two hours of Sarah Palin asking ignorant questions and the candidates trying to make sense of them, or just giving up and proselytizing to the flock instead? It would the TV equivalent of receiving a colonoscopy from a doctor who just found out you were banging his wife.

Okay so as you know I am not commenting on things on the channel unless somebody else goes there and reports on it first, or it gets uploaded to YouTube.

As it turns out Palin is now doing that very thing. The bitch!

This is the video that Bob Cesca sampled last Saturday, and which is still rocketing around the internet resulting in stunned looks and belly laughs all over the world.

The whole thing is just as bad, if not worse.

Palin you know a few weeks ago the Massachusetts Senator, Elizabeth Warren, she gave a speech outlining the eleven rules to be a progressive. Well I'd love to answer her with a common sense conservative's take (Where is she going to find one of those?) on her eleven tenants. (Pretty sure that's supposed to be "tenets" not "tenants.")


Warren: We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it.

Palin: We believe that Washington DC needs to take less of our money, it need more scrutiny, fewer bureaucrats... and it needs a reminder of the principles laid down in the constitution that our leaders swear to defend. Furthermore we believe crony capitalism is infecting both sides of the aisle in DC, so we're working really hard to root it out of our party. Uh senator Warren, what are you doing to root it out of yours? (Is she really asking Elisabeth freaking warren what she is doing to fight corruption?)

Warren: We believe in science. and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this earth.

Palin: Uh hum, we believe in science, and God's magnificent creation overflowing with natural resources. That means, we have a responsibility to honor him by protecting the earth as we develop our resources in an environmentally sound way for mankind's use. (In other words she believes in sciences that does nothing to disprove her favorite deity, and wishes to preserve the planet so that people can continue to exploit its resources and pollute its air and water. Makes perfect sense, if you are Sarah Palin.)


Warren: We believe that the internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality.

Palin: We believe the internet shouldn't be censored by the world's tyrants, that means President Obama should reverse his disastrous decision to hand over control of internet domain names to the UN, where it will come under the thumb of authoritarian regimes like Russia  and China. (So in other words, the United states should tyrannically control the internet in order to keep it out of the hands of tyrants?)

Warren: We believe that no one should have to work full time and still live in poverty. That means raising the minimum wage.

Palin: We believe in lifting Americans out of poverty and into sustainable jobs. Now that means government needs to butt out, butt out of employee pay issues and quit over regulating businesses and increasing taxes it drives up operating costs, that's what effects wages. (Yeah, no not so much.)


Warren: We believe that fast food workers deserve a liveable wage. And that means when they take to the picket line we are proud to fight alongside them.

(And this is where Palin REALLY went off the rails!)

Palin:“We believe”? Wait, I thought fast food joints, hurh. Don’t you guys think that they’re like of the Devil or somethin’ . Liberals, you want to send those evil employees who would dare work at a fast food joint then ya just don’t believe in, thought you wanted to, I dunno, send them to Purgatory or somethin’ so they all go vegan and, uh, wages and picket lines I dunno they’re not often discussed in Purgatory, are they? I dunno why are you even worried about fast food wages because.... Well we believe an America, where minimum wage jobs, they're not like life time gigs, they're stepping stones to a good job with sustainable wages, hm, teaches work ethic, we believe in helping Americans climb the economic ladder, not get stuck on that first rung. A strong economy with good paying jobs it comes from free enterprise, not from a top down bloated big government command and control economy” (Wow! Talk about out of touch with the reality of making a living in this country. You know if her family were not living off of her name and had to get real jobs based on their work ethic, talent base, and educational background, Palin would know first hand how hard it is to make a living working in jobs that pay minimum wage.)


Warren: We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt.

Palin: We believe that students learn not to make decisions that result in a lot of debt (You know like attending college in the first place.) and we believe that schools need to be more accountable for the insane increase in tuition, hey and their insane curriculum, many of 'em. (Does she mean a curriculum that teaches something besides hair design and skin care?) It is no accident Elizabeth that the rise in tuition corresponds with a rise in government intervention! More government isn't the answer. (What?)

Warren: We believe that after a lifetime of work people are entitled to retire with dignity. And that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions.


Palin: We believe a pension is a promise. It must be honored. OK we do that by using common sense and prioritizing budgets that once and for all will end waste and fraud and the crony capitalism and the stupid political decisions that are bankrupting our nation! (You mean like starting unnecessary wars?) We believe that in order to keep faith with future generations and fulfill our current commitments to our seniors...well we must enact sensible entitlement reform. (Sadly the Republican party has never offered anything that looked like "sensible entitlement reform.")

Warren: We believe..only I can't believe I have to say this in 2014. We believe in equal pay for equal work.

Palin: We believe, I cant believe I have to say this in 2014. We believe in equal pay for equal work  and President Obama should abandon his hypocritical practice of paying women less than men, in his campaign, in his administration, and in the white house. Uhh, the leader of your party Elizabeth could set an example for the rest of the country. (Okay as much as it grieves me to admit this, Palin has a point here.)

Warren: We believe that equal means equal. And that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, and it's true in all of America.

Palin: We believe that all men and women are created equal.  They claim we are not tolerant, well, we believe that tolerance goes both ways. You know, uh, that means respecting people's rights to disagree with you. Instead of trying to intimidate or silence us. We believe the answer to free speech you find offensive, is more free speech not less. (Okay I am going to assume she is talking about the recent actions to limit proselytizing in the military. If you can think of another example let me know.)


Warren: We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant and that means reform....

Palin: We believe that legal immigration the help make this country strong and vibrant and that means welcoming law abiding, hard working immigrants who wish to come here legally and pledge their allegiance to the United States of America! Furthermore we believe, as none other than Cesar Chavez believed, that if illegal immigration hurts the country it unfairly hurts working class Americans of all races, all backgrounds, who are seeking good paying  jobs, security for their families. (I'm assuming that she does not realize, nor care, that the wait time to become a US citizen can be up to 20 years. That is what Warren is talking about, and it is what President Obama has wanted to address since taking office, but he is dealing with a Congress that simply has no interest in solving problems, especially if they can blame those problems on the President.)

Warren: And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies, we will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!

Palin:We believe women have a right to their bodies, just as babies have a right to their living breathing bodies nestled in a mother's womb. (That's a fetus, NOT a baby. That's why science is so important.) Hey, and anyone who wants contraception, more power to ya, can continue to freely buy any kind you want, no one is stopping you. We'll fight for the right of private businesses, including Hobby Lobby, to work with you... figure out health care coverage themselves. Any way, the owners of those businesses that they built themselves, anyway they want to. Knowing that, eh, come on government intervention it just always screws everything up. Furthermore  we believe that religious liberty is enshrined in our Constitution. Remember? The government has no right to cause people to violate their religious beliefs (Sure we do. That's why we do not allow honor killings, or still allow slavery, and why we prosecute parents who allow their children to die without seeking medical attention because they believe in faith healing.), and if try to take any of our constitutional rights away we will fight for them. One final thought for Senator Warren and her would be progressive populous, we conservatives believe, as Ronald Reagan said (Wow, I cannot believe it took this long for her to call upon the ghost of Ronald Reagan. She must be slipping.), that you can't be for big taxes, big government, big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy. Well, we stand with the little guy. The little guy today who is  being bullied and beaten down by the progressive left's failed policies of yours Elizabeth Warren. (Wait, who's beating them up? The people fighting for equality and a higher minimum wage?) We stand for free men and free markets. The twin ideals that made this nation strong, peaceful, and prosperous. We say, god bless America, uh, we hope you say the same, Senator Warren.

Oh yeah that is a LOT of crazy for only $9.95 a month.

Okay now I have another one of THOSE headaches.

Politico knows NOTHING about Sarah Palin!

"Hey, I hear voices in my head! And not the usual ones telling me to kill Todd either."

This was written about Sarah Palin since leaving Fox News by reporter Mackenzie Weinger, over at Politico: 

Sarah Palin With a passionate fan base and a powerful social media presence that can launch hundreds of thousands of clicks, Palin’s life after Fox has been just as influential - and divisive - as during her tenure on the network, observers say. 

She joined Fox News as a paid contributor in 2009, after she had resigned as Alaska governor. This January, Fox News confirmed the three-year run with the former Republican vice presidential nominee was over. 

Even without a formal arrangement, Palin still gets her name out there often on Fox News, with 135 mentions in the last 90 days on the network, according to TVEyes. And Fox News has hardly blacklisted her as a news subject - Palin’s comments on social media and her speeches at CPAC and the recent NRA convention in Texas have been clipped and discussed on the network. 

And even without her gig as a regular on Fox News, Palin still garnered much of the same coverage in the first four months of this year as she did in 2012, according to the Nexis database. From January 2012 to May 2012, Palin received 223 mentions in newspapers; 69 in Web-based publications, such as CNN.com, Washingtonpost.com, POLITICO and USNews.com; 563 in blogs; and her name appeared in 46 news transcripts, for a total of 901 mentions. During the same period this year, in her post-Fox News life, Palin’s still very much in the conversation, with 118 mentions in newspapers, 55 in Web-based publications, 726 in blogs and 12 in news transcripts, for a total of 911 mentions, and she also wrote an op-ed for the conservative website Breitbart. 

Okay somebody needs to explain to this ninny that generating clicks or having her name mentioned in articles is NOT the same thing as having a "powerful media presence" ESPECIALLY since much of those articles are making fun of her and the majority of the clicks are driven by a macabre desire to see just how far she will fall, whilst handfuls of popcorn are devoured during the spectacle.

Palin has the same positive impact on the news as a fleeing bank robbers does during an episode of COPS. Sure we all enjoy the chase, but in the end most viewers are hoping the getaway car will flip in the air and the fugitives will burn up in a fiery crash.

This part is a little more realistic.

Fox News was never “the foundation of her public personality at all,” Mair said. “If somebody took Facebook or Twitter away from Sarah Palin, then that would have a significant impact on her media profile.” 

Actually that would be the end of her "media profile," as without Facebook and twitter for all intents and purposes Sarah Palin would cease to exist altogether. Only showing up occasionally for the opening of a carpet store, spotted once in awhile stumbling around race tracks or car shoes, and having her name pop up as a $200 question on Jeopardy about has beens and losers.

 But perhaps the most telling part of the article is this:

Palin did not respond to POLITICO’s requests for comment. 

Yes because Palin is SO incredibly paranoid about being asked a question that she cannot answer she will ONLY respond to media that she KNOWS will treat her with kid gloves, like Breitbart and the occasional local news outlet in some back water town that is just excited that somebody they once saw on TV is right there in that ashen flesh and barely circulating blood.

No Palin has no actual "media presence," any more than Hitler has a "media presence," or flesh eating diseases have a "media presence." Sure we will click on links that mention them, but NOT because we are impressed by them or fascinated with their story, but rather because they disgust us and we want to make sure they are not making a comeback.
