If batshit crazy Michelle Bachmann were batshit crazy enough to challenge Al Franken for his Senate seat she would be crushed into actual bat shit. (I'm sorry bat guano.)

Courtesy of Public Policy Polling:

PPP’s new survey of Minnesota voters finds Al Franken comfortably leading all potential challengers. Franken leads Michele Bachmann 55% to 38%. He leads Jason Lewis by 54% to 37%. Franken bests Republican Mike McFadden 51%-36%. He leads Julianne Ortman 52%-35%. Julie Rosen trails Franken 36%-52%. Rounding out the bunch, Rich Stanek faces a 36%-51% deficit against the Senator.

Franken himself is popular, with a 51% approval rating to 42% disapproval. Bachmann is deeply unpopular, at 34% favorable, 60% unfavorable and 7% not sure.

“Al Franken has proven to be a pretty popular Senator,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “Add to that a relatively weak Republican bench in Minnesota and he’s looking like a clear favorite for reelection.”

Okay look here's the plan.

We need to surreptitiously contact some of the Tea Party groups and convince them that this PPP poll was fixed to show that Bachmann has no chance against Franken because the liberals are afraid that if she ran against him she would beat him hands down.

Then we simply need to send e-mails of support to Bachmann telling her how she is the ONLY Representative in Minnesota worth a damn and that she should really be in the Senate. (Oh and send some to Marcus telling him that the choices for Senate interns are far cuter than the left over ones that end up working for the Congress.)

Then we need to get a HUGE bowl of popcorn and watch the show, because I cannot think of ANYTHING that I would rather see than Al Franken crushing Michele Bachmann like a crazy eyed bug meeting a semi truck windshield at 60 miles per hour.

No seriously, I think it can work! Don't you?

Fox News gets dissed by perhaps the BIGGEST movie of the summer. Aww, sucks to be them!

Courtesy of Politicususa:

In the upcoming blockbuster The Avengers, MSNBC and CNN are featured, but after dissing Spider-Man last summer, ratings leader Fox News is conspicuously missing.

TVnewser has the scoop, “MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts appeared as himself, gamely pretending that the world had just been saved by a giant green man and the Norse God of Thunder. In addition to MSNBC, “footage” from the battle ran on CNN, local Time Warner Cable channel NY1 and ABC affiliate WABC ( we didn’t see any real anchors, just clips and an interview with a “witness”). There were also some fictional TV networks, including a fake channel 5, which is a Fox affiliate here in New York. We also noticed that the only cable news channel not featured was Fox News Channel.”

Now you may be wondering WHY Fox News, who is certainly not shy about self promotion, would not have their name prominently displayed throughout this movie? Good question.

A possible reason for this might be that Disney, who is distributing this movie hates Fox news, or perhaps that Fox News hates them back.

Or it could be this:

Fox News has accused the left of forcing Marvel to “take a radical left turn to extreme political correctness” by making the new Spider-Man half black and half Hispanic.

Marvel, which is also the comic book company behind the Avengers, is undoubtedly sensitive about having one of their most iconic characters attacked in this way, so that might very well have something to do with the fact that the movie now portrays Fox as being perhaps the ONLY cable news network that would not consider the saving of New York by a group of colorfully garbed super heroes to be newsworthy.

Undoubtedly Fox was too busy covering another socialist political move by President Obama, or reporting on how a white person exercised  their first amendment rights by delivering justice through the barrel of a gun to some poor minority that walked too close to their house, or perhaps they were busy making sure that the stupidity falling out of Sarah Palin's mouth was broadcast into the homes of unsuspecting Americans.

Yeah I know that it will probably not have any real impact on Rupert Murdoch, Roger Ailes, or the shareholders of Newscorp.  After all they have a Hannity, an O'Reilly, and a Van Susteren as their own personal "superheroes," assuming of course that blatant lies and obfuscation can be considered a super power that is.

Well personally I am very excited about attending this move today. Because even though Fox News may have an army of brainwashed paint chip eaters who are still ignorant enough to support them, those of us who are NOT seeing a Leftist agenda behind every corner have something much more exciting, we have a Hulk!

Oh boy, I can taste the popcorn already!

With Sarah Palin's aspirations all but destroyed, Michele Bachmann jumps up to quickly take her place while the political corpse is yet still warm.

"I think I'll put the knife right there between her grizzly shoulder blades."
Courtesy of the New York Times:

Sarah Palin, the reigning heroine of many social conservatives, has given few signals that she will make a presidential bid. Mike Huckabee, who won the Iowa caucuses in 2008 on the strength of his appeal to evangelicals and other constituencies, has mostly offered reasons for not joining the race.
So into that space has come Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

“It isn’t that I was born thinking I had to be president,” she said, leaning in and talking softer than she does on television or at Tea Party rallies. “I’m getting a lot of encouragement to run from people across the country. I don’t believe this is a rash decision.”

Do you think she is talking about real "people," or just the voices in her head?

“If Congresswoman Bachmann gets in, she has the potential to appeal to a lot of people who might have gone for Governor Palin,” Gov. Terry E. Branstad of Iowa said in an interview. “Imagine if they both got in. That could make it really interesting.”

If Bachmann and Palin BOTH get into the race this will be the most entertaining GOP primary in history!  They could put the debates on Pay-Per-View and have enough to finance the ENTIRE Republican campaign.

Of course it would still not do them any good because by the time this Republican three ring circus was over and they finally swept up the last of the sawdust, and shoveled out the remaining elephant shit, the American people would never vote whichever clown was left standing into the White House.

But the question remains, if Palin decides to finally use that common sense she is always bragging about and skips this nomination process, does Bachmann truly have what it takes to wear her mantle?

Ms. Bachmann would have substantial obstacles to overcome. She has already made some high-profile gaffes — including declaring late last month that the opening shots of the Revolutionary War took place in New Hampshire, not Massachusetts — that raise questions about her preparation for the scrutiny of a national campaign.

Her Congressional office has experienced considerable turnover, including five chiefs of staff in the last four years. A former chairman of the Minnesota Republican Party, Ron Carey, resigned after five months in the post. He told reporters in Minneapolis that he would not support her presidential bid, saying, “She’s not going to be an electable candidate for us.”

Well I guess that answers THAT question.

"The Teabaggers Queen is dead!  Long live the Queen of Teabaggers!"

Update: Andrew Sullivan honored me with quote of the day. Sweet!
