Mommy, why doesn’t daddy wear makeup? This is the question my 6-year-old asked me on Friday afternoon. We were watching Countdown to Christmas on ABC, and a commercial came up in between watching Toy Story.

The first image is of a boy in a backwards hat with ink and black makeup. He narrates the commercial, but doesn’t reappear until the end. In the last few scenes, he is arching his back and holding his thighs next to six or so other girls. His appears to be the most feminine of all the poses. The tagline read, “Equal is beautiful.” The final image was branded with #LashEquality. 

My son watched this commercial while I wasn’t paying any attention. Because it was just a CoverGirl commercial, I didn’t think I would need to cover the screen. I was pre-occupied, speaking with David (my husband). 

Both of us were caught off guard, we didn’t know how to answer. I don’t know why, but the most logical thing we could think of at that moment was to say, “No, that’s a girl.” 

The commercial comes on a second time. It is undeniable, it’s a guy.

So what is a backward thinking, over protective parent to do when the Satanic world they are attempting to protect their little snowflake from comes bursting into their lives adorned in eye makeup?

Well misrepresent that world of course.

“Daddy doesn’t wear makeup because makeup is for girls.”

This of course is a ridiculous thing to say as her son JUST saw somebody who was NOT a girl on TV wearing makeup.

The mother then compounds her ignorance by responding with this; “That is how his parents chose to raise him...”

That of course is also ridiculous as parents cannot actually "choose" who their children will be. Nor should they try.

All we can do is love and support our children, and help them to make choices which empower them and allow them to be the best they can possibly be as adults.

And we cannot choose their sexuality, which seems to be the suggestion made by this mother, and her deepest fear.

In the end this sad creature decides that she will simply change her brand of makeup, and then makes this rather pathetic observation:

"Our world is headed in a direction where my 6-year-old son is having to grow up so much faster than I want him to."

Now remember her world was undone by a GUY WEARING MAKEUP. 

I mean this is not a video of somebody brutally killing another person on screen, or her son overhearing inappropriate language from an R rated movie, or the death of a beloved pet.

This is just some young guy wearing makeup.

Do you know how you handle that?

You say, "Well he must like to wear makeup, and that's his choice." and you move the hell on.

The fact that this woman sees this as some kind of existential crisis seems to indicate that perhaps SHE needs to start getting out of the house more herself.

In attempt to convince them to confess their sins parents and church members beat two teenage boys. One of them to death.

Two teenage brothers were brutally beaten in church - one of them fatally - in an effort by their parents, sister and other members of the congregation to force them to confess their sins and seek forgiveness, police said Wednesday. 

Police Chief Michael Inserra said investigators are still looking into what the supposed sins were. 

Lucas and Christopher Leonard, 19 and 17, were pounded with fists Sunday at the Word of Life Church when a "counseling session" meant to explore their spiritual state turned violent, Inserra said. They were beaten in the abdomen, genitals, back and thighs, authorities said. 

Lucas died and his brother was hospitalized in serious condition. Six church members - including the brothers' parents and sister - have been arrested.

What is that saying again?

What besides religion, or superstition, could ever convince a parent to take the life of their child? 

Creationist Ken Ham knows why women suffer during childbirth. It's because you're all sinful little bitches that's why!

So Ken Ham, who tells children that dinosaurs and people totally used to hang together, read about a lecture given by a certain Dr. Scott Simpson, who is a Professor in the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine’s Department of Anatomy.

According to Dr. Scott the reason it hurts like the dickens when women make little people is because:

“One reason is that we have evolved to walk upright and the human pelvis has tried to accommodate that. Also the human brain has grown, which makes for proportionately bigger heads and a more difficult time getting through the birth canal.”

That by the way is exactly what I was taught in my college biology class as well.  And it is supported by virtually everything that I have read since.

But clearly that is because I have been reading textbooks, and THAT, according to Ken Ham, is NOT where one finds the answer:

So bigger brains and upright walking—that’s why women supposedly have pain and difficulty in childbirth. And that answer is just totally wrong! In fact, anyone who can read the Bible can find out the true answer to that question. 

Because Eve took the fruit (being deceived by the devil), we are told what God did: 

To the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children’ (Genesis 3:16) 

And God reminds us in Romans 8 that because of our sin in Adam, 

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. (Romans 8:22) 

Evolved bigger brains are not the reason for why there is pain in childbirth—we could say it’s because of fallen brains!

So there you science loving smarty britches. Now you know the truth about painful childbirth according to the superstitious imaginings of an ancient people who believed that the sky was a body of water with the moon, stars, and sun trapped in it.

And that should be a lesson to you ladies that making men eat apples when they totally would never do that if you did not trick them with your feminine wiles, can lead to incredible pain and probably stretch marks as well.

So the next time you are screaming with pain because of a little parasite slithering out of your nether regions, remember that it is not because you are a highly evolved species at the top of the food chain, but rather because you are sinful will vixens that are wholly responsible for the fall of man.

Man Christian men have it made! Blaming all of societies ills on women and everything. I think I'm beginning to see the attraction.

Creationist suggest that if we believe in Evolution that Josh Duggar did nothing wrong.

Eric Hovind, son of imprisoned tax evader and fellow creationist Kent Hovind, declared on his Creation Today website the following:

If evolution is true, then there is no absolute right and wrong. If evolution is true Josh should not have admitted his faults over a decade ago because what one evolved bag of molecules does to another bag of molecules just doesn’t really matter. If evolution is true there is no ultimate Judge on the bench who will hold every man, woman, and child responsible for their actions. And if evolution is true you will not give an account for every idle word you speak.

So to be clear, as far as Hovind is concerned, if there is no supreme being forcing us to resist the urge to molest our little sisters, then there really is no good reason not to molest our little sisters.

Well that is a fairly disgusting point of view.

Hovind also has a "great punishment" in mind for Josh Duggar: 

A good punishment for Josh Duggar? 

Since Josh molested girls, which could damage their trust of men, which could damage their future marriage, which could damage their future family, we should make Josh Duggar work the rest of his life to help families stay together and help them recognize how twisted the world is and how God offers instruction on how to live righteously! He should be forced to push faith, family and freedom in the public showing the Christian worldview has the answers. We should force him to get a job at the Family Research Counsel who's mission is "to advance faith, family and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview." 

That would be a great punishment!

Yes let's pay this former (Well hopefully former.) child molester, who has never received any formal therapy, to tell others how to live a righteous life and to push his version of a Christian worldview on unsuspecting families.

Apparently this makes perfect sense to Hovind.

Here let me clear up a little something.

People who accept the teachings of evolution, embrace secularism, or even self identify as Atheists, have NO problem understanding the concept of right and wrong.

We are more than capable of feeling both guilt and shame for doing bad things, and though we do not believe that there is a powerful sky parent waiting to punish us for our sins, we do recognize and understand why there are rules and laws governing our society and how we interact with each other.

We may in fact be "bags of molecules," but these bags of molecules often live quite moral lives without the fear of eternal damnation being held over our heads.

Which, by the way, makes us the moral superior of anybody who is only acting in a moral fashion in order to avoid punishment, either legal or spiritual. 

Sarah Palin wants Democrats to stop trying to pry sugary drinks out of the mouths of her family and to start fighting harder against radical Islam and to keep all of those brown people out of our country.

So the brave folks over at Wonkette have once again waded hip deep into the mushy moosenuggets of misinformation that drop from Sarah Palin's gaping maw with each new, and increasingly rare, Sarah Palin Channel video.

In this one Palin takes great umbrage at the very idea that Democrats recognize anything as sinful, and would increase taxes in order to protect people from lung cancer, obesity, or type two diabetes.

The bastards!

"Get this, a Connecticut Democrat has proposed legislation to tax sugary drinks at one cent per teaspoon of sweeteners, like sugars! Theses types of taxes, they’re designed to discourage certain behaviors, kinda mold the person into what some politician perceives as an ideal person (Healthy?), according to their own priorities. You know like smoking or drinking pop, soft drinks. Those are called ‘sin taxes.’ But wait a second: liberals are now all of a sudden interested in sin? Well how judgmental! During a time when Christians are being targeted and murdered by radical Islam, when the Obama administration still isn’t serious about jihad, when our national debt is sky-high and growing every day, and when our borders are open and we’re rewarding illegal aliens whose first act upon our soil is to break our laws—yeah our borders aren’t secure—well, really, soda? That should be way down on the list of government concerns. (Actually, funny thing, liberals can do more than one thing at a time.) Prohibition didn’t work well the first time around, did it? When she says "actually work to fix things that are wrong in our nation," does she mean vote to keep Republicans out of office? Cause we do that.

You know one might think that Palin would be all for taxing sugary drinks. After all they probably contributed, at least in some small part, to this version of her daughter from 2010.

There were likely other contributing factors as well, but for the life of me I cannot remember what they might have been.

Lack of exercise perhaps?

And by the way Sarah Palin, while she was mayor,  raised the sales tax in Wasilla by .5 percent. And yes that included taxes on soda and sugary drinks.

Hypocrisy much?

(Of course that was not enough money for her, so she left the city 22 million dollars in debt.)

So not only did Palin fight vehemently against Obamacare, which has resulted in 9 out of 10 Americans now having insurance, she is also promoting the idea of sending our troops to fight more enemies, argues against reducing emissions to save our planet, and now pisses and moans about taxes on sugary drinks that contribute to obesity and the onset of preventable diseases.

I think I now know who Sarah Palin is really working for.

Death.

Michigan pastor compares homosexuality to being an axe murderer because you know they have SO much in common.

A Michigan pastor has come under fire after he told his congregation that same-sex marriage was wrong because homosexuality was a choice like choosing to be an “axe murderer.” 

During a sermon earlier this month, Clint Echols, pastor of First Baptist Church in Zeeland, pointed out that the Bible said that God considered homosexuality to be an “abomination.” 

According to Echols, the church should not accept the sexual preference of LGBT people because it was like saying “I think I’m an axe murderer.” 

“It’s an internal compass and a person can discover their sexuality at any moment…oh wait a second, I’m gay, I’m bisexual, I want to change my gender, these things, and that’s being true to themselves and being true to their internal compass,” Echols said. 

“For instance on another, a completely other playing field, if tomorrow I woke up because I have this internal compass that’s telling me what truth is,” he continued. “Tomorrow, if I wake up and say, well, I think I’m an axe murderer, now I’m an axe murderer, would you be happy with that? Would you agree? Would you want me to follow that internal compass?”

Personally I am guessing that this asshole does not even possess an "internal compass."  That's why he needs a book to tell him right from wrong.

I mean seriously, comparing being gay to being a murderer? What kind of fucked up thinking is that?

Besides "Dykes on Bikes" (Which sounds like a Showtime movie just waiting to be made.), witches, hypocrites, and pot smokers, the guy also calls out "so called Christians."

Which makes me wonder is there NOBODY that gets a free pass from this guy's god?

Phil Robertson claims that diseases, such as AIDS, are God's punishment for sin. Holy crap is it 1981 again?

While promoting his new book unPHILtered: The Way I See It, Robertson spoke at length about what he called the “physiological downside to immorality” in an interview with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins’ radio program Washington Watch last week. 

“I mean, a great question to ask is ‘Why is it that all of these just—is this coincidental that viewing all of the immoral conduct that America now is participating in, I’ve asked a lot of people, Do you think it’s a coincidence that all of these debilitating — and literally, it can cause death — diseases follow that kind of conduct?” Robertson said. 

“God says, ‘One woman, one man,’ and everybody says, ‘Oh, that’s old hat, that’s that old Bible stuff’ and I’m thinking well, let’s see now. A clean guy, a disease-free guy, and a disease-free woman, they marry and they keep their sex between the two of ‘em, uh, they’re not gonna get chlamydia and gonorrhea and syphilis and AIDS. It’s, it’s safe.” 

Robertson concluded that such diseases from such behaviors are punishment from God. 

“Now to me either it’s the wildest coincidence ever that horrible diseases follow immoral conduct,” he said, “or it’s God saying, ‘There’s a penalty for that kind of conduct.’ I’m leanin’ toward there’s a penalty toward it.” 

“So, you read in the Bible, you say well let’s see, ‘Well, it’s one man, one woman,’” he said. “Any logical person would say, what the guy is sayin’ is, that’d be me, is that if you wanna be safe from a lot of debilitating diseases, that’s the route to go. And it agrees with what God says so it’s just one argument after another, Tony, but what can I say all you can do is just show ‘em that and say, ‘Man, we ought to think about this Jesus stuff.’”

You know it occurs to me that if a man and another man, or a woman and another woman,  were to enter into an exclusive relationship that they too would be safe from the diseases that Robertson listed above.

So it seems that the problem is NOT that certain behaviors are deemed sinful in the minds of the narrow minded, and therefore punishable by God.  But instead that those engaging in careless promiscuity, or not practicing safe sex, might infect a partner with a sexually transmitted disease, whether gay or straight.

As for other diseases like cancer, or heart disease, or even Ebola, those seem to care little how moral or immoral a person might be.

And the reason for that is because sickness and death are both a biological inevitability that only the ridiculously superstitious would consider the result of human immorality.

Phil Robertson is an imbecile who insists upon seeing the world through a prism which identifies everything in terms of good vs evil.

And anybody who buys his book looking for wisdom is barking up the wrong fake hillbilly.

For those who think that Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Roberston, has learned his lesson, well you could not be more wrong.

Robertson’s controversial beliefs first made waves in December 2013, when he likened homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with GQ magazine. After public outcry and a temporary suspension from A&E, Robertson released a public apology that read in part, “I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” 

That benevolent attitude was nowhere to be seen, however, during a fiery sermon at Whites Ferry Road Church in his hometown of West Monroe, La., on Easter Sunday, April 20. 

“What’s [Jesus] coming back for? …” Robertson asked the congregation. “To bring salvation to those who are waiting for it. Are you waiting on Jesus? Or are you afraid to see that sky busting, you see him coming? You got two lists.” 

“I gave some guy one list,” he said, apparently referring to the bombshell GQ interview. “You say, were they mad at you about that list? They were mad at me.” Indeed, A&E briefly suspended him from the hit show. 

“You say, why’d they get mad at you?” he continued. “‘Cuz instead of acknowledging their sin, like you had better do, they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins. Don’t deceive yourselves.” 

He shouted, “You want the verse? The news media didn’t even know it was a verse! They thought I was just mouthing off. Is homosexual behavior a sin? The guy asked me. I said, do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived.” 

“Neither the sexually immoral, nor the idolators nor adulterers nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God,” Robertson blasted, paraphrasing a verse from Corinthians in the Bible.

The article goes on to point out that Duck Dynasty's ratings have fallen 40% since Robertson's initial rant was published in GQ magazine.

Perhaps after this one the show will disappear altogether.

In fact by August the biggest audience they might attract will be the smattering of folks that show up to see them at the Alaska State Fair.

I am well past the point of not finding the ideas of heaven and hell completely ridiculous, but if I thought there were a possibility that I might end up in heaven with the people who are constantly bragging that they are on the fast track to acceptance like Pat Robertson, Sarah Palin, and Ken Ham I would start knocking over banks and setting churches on fire just to make sure they took me off the invite list.

Besides I don't care how hot it is, the idea of hanging out with Albert Einstein, Richard Dawkins, and Mark Twain for eternity sounds like a hell of a party.

Mormon child abuse disguised as religious instruction.

The man terrifying that young man, is Elder David Bednar, who is a member of something called the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Apparently that means he is a big fish in the putrid little Mormon pond.

As a parent, and as a human being, watching this man make that clearly frightened child the center of attention, in order to teach some bullshit lesson about how straying from the path will put his very soul into jeopardy, makes me seethe with anger.

The boy asked a simple question, one that could have been answered simply, and without subjecting him to humiliation and fear.

You know I have taught numerous children the importance of studying, being moral and ethical, and about the real dangers and challenges that they may face in life, and not once did I make one of them cry nor feel the need to terrify them.

You can call me immoral til the cows come home, and insist that I cannot understand right from wrong without God or religion, but when I look in the mirror I see a man who children felt safe around, and who they knew would rather cut off his own arm then cause them any pain.

Emotional or otherwise.

Good news for Duck Dynasty's outspoken homophobe Phil Robertson, the Christians have your back.

Franklin Graham posted a statement on billygraham.org with the title, “I Support My Friend Phil Robertson”. 

The statement said, “Phil Robertson’s desire is to see all men and women repent—that is to turn from their sin and follow Christ in obedience. Indeed, that’s his own story, as he freely shares. This is my desire too. We live in a culture that openly supports and promotes sin against God. While Phil Robertson is not anyone’s judge—God is, and will judge all sin. Jesus Christ came to this earth to save sinners, which includes me. I have appreciated the Robertson family’s commitment to biblical values, and that they have not backed down in a politically-correct world that is tolerant of everything except biblical standards and values. I pray that we would be a nation where we can disagree civilly while holding firm convictions. I support my friend Phil Robertson.” 

Hey if it's in the Bible than how can the Christians NOT support it right?

Well that is certainly the thinking of the Westboro church people, who ALSO have come out in support of Phil Robertson: 

The Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket the A&E cable network in support of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson after A&E suspended Robertson from his hit show for using his Christian faith to justify some disturbing and offensive anti-gay remarks. 

According to a report issued Dec. 21 by Raw Story, the Westboro Baptist Church will be picketing A&E on February 1, 2014 because, it claims, “F*gs run A&E!” 

The Westboro Baptist Church, a notorious Christian hate group, joins other Christian hate groups, such as the Family Research Council, in supporting Robertson’s controversial and demonizing characterizations of LGBT people.

Well now isn't THAT interesting? Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I would like to point out that this whole accepting the gays thing is just the latest moment in history where the Christians have been pulled kicking and screaming into the future. The Bible was also used to argue against working on Sundays, freeing the slaves, and allowing women to vote.

Progress and equality does not occur BECAUSE of religion, it occurs in spite of it.

Pat Robertson believes that killing characters in video games is a sin. Uh oh!

"If you're murdering somebody in cyberspace in a sense you're performing the act whether you like it or not. Here's the danger with this stuff. And it has to do with television, books, everything. You lose your sensitivity to God. And if you're keen for the Lord, you're in prayer, you're spirit is attuned to Him, you're seeing miracles in your life, you listen to the voice of God. That stuff will chop off your access. And you will grow dead in your heart. That's the danger of all of this."

Did Robertson just ask kids to choose between video games and God?

Because if he did, he may have just put a stake into the heart of Christianity for good.

He does realize that the images which appear to be people in these games are made up of pixels and polygons right? I mean they're not real, and every child sitting in front of their game console knows that.

But then again what can one expect from a man who thinks that hurricanes and tornadoes are called down by God to punish homosexuals and that clothes from Goodwill might be demonic?

Now if you will excuse me I will return to my game racing against Bowser. Koopa Troopa, and Yoshi. I hope I get one of those demonic turtle shells pretty soon.

New morality clause at Catholic school causes President of Advisory Council to resign in protest.

The President of Our Lady of Fatima School Advisory Council has resigned in response to a new morality clause the Diocese of Lafayette has asked teachers to sign. In a letter to Principal Joni Duos obtained by KATC, Jaci Russo said the morality clause is flawed. 

"By listing these 'sins,' a number of teachers are forced to either lie about who they are, or deny the things they may have done in order to keep their jobs at Fatima," Russo wrote in her resignation letter. "This is a travesty, as I know there are teachers who have had children out of wedlock and are divorced and remarried without annulment, yet they signed the clause and continue to teach." 

Russo added, "I cannot in good conscience stand by while we prevent great teachers from doing their jobs at Fatima." 

Longtime teacher Jane Riviere, who is openly gay, said she didn't sign her contract because she couldn't "be honest to its content." The morality clause bars teachers from engaging in homosexual activity, using birth control, or being married outside the church. Riviere said Wednesday that while she does not agree with the church's position, she accepts it. 

Russo, whose children have attended Fatima for the past 10 years, questions teachers who have lied or denied things to keep their jobs. 

"What does this say about their moral fiber?" Russo asks. "Is adherence to the clause based on reality, or just what each individual is willing to admit?" 

Russo also discusses Riviere's character in the letter. She notes Riviere has touched the lives of many in the community, which she says is evident in the number of former students and co-workers who have commented about Riviere not signing her contract. 

"I don't understand how she could be such a great teacher for the past 30 years, and now be viewed as unacceptable," Russo wrote. "Isn't a woman of this quality exactly who we want to teach character to our kids?" 

Believe it or not the list of "sins" that this contract included were, non-Catholic marriages, living with a boyfriend or girlfriend, homosexual activity, becoming pregnant or fathering a child out of wedlock, and of course having an abortion or helping someone to get an abortion,

I think that it is great that people are standing up for themselves and refusing to let the church bully them into hiding who they are or judging them for who they love, or how they love.

If more people were to do this these superstitious bronze age thinking assholes would have to change their mindset or watch their schools close down from lack of teachers.

Which by the way I don't see as a bad thing.
