Donald Trump takes to Twitter to essentially reinforce the allegations in Michael Wolff's new book. Update!

So that was from yesterday, when Trump decided to once again go on a tirade against Steve Bannon and this new book by Michael Woff.

However one of the things that the book pointed out is that Trump gave people nicknames in order to help remember them, and often repeated the same stories or phrases over and over again.

Which brings us to this tweet by Michael Moore yesterday.
So you can check off that box as correct.

Wolff also said that EVERYBODY in Trump's inner circle talked about how stupid he was behind his back, while he was constantly bragging about his intellect.

Allow me to present today's unhinged tweets.

#stablegenius is now trending on Twitter.

Just in case you are numbed by Trump's constant barrage of crazy, and are having trouble identifying mental instability, this is actually insane.

You go ahead and Google the last time a sitting president decided to announce to the world that they were a genius. Go ahead, I'll wait here.

Yeah, it never happened before. Because to do so would indicate a lack of intelligence.

Or even more likely, a mental health problem.

So in just a handful of tweets Trump himself has reinforced the validity of much of what Michael Wolff has described in his now bestselling book.

And he did while clearly believing he was defending himself against the allegations.

Update: Oh my god, he actually went on television to defend his intelligence.
I wonder if "I went to the best schools" is what Trump will be yelling when they finally haul him off in handcuffs?

Donald Trump's intelligence and mental health are now being openly questioned.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

Government watchdog groups are pressing the Trump administration to release documents that would shed light on whether President Donald Trump’s cabinet is covering up his mental state.

On Thursday the campaign group Free Speech For People filed the first of a series of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests seeking details about whether senior officials have concerns the president is a moron or an imbecile.

The group, which bills itself as nonpartisan, says it is trying to “determine whether Cabinet members are attempting to cover up the diminished mental capacity of a President who is unfit to serve.” Similar requests are being submitted to the Departments of State, Homeland Security, and Defense.

Could I answer that last question? Because I am pretty sure I know it.

And I am not the only one who knows it.

Courtesy of Tonic:

On Saturday, the group Duty to Warn will host town halls in 13 cities, including New York, Washington DC, and Chicago. Each will feature multiple mental health experts, academics, and doctors, plucked from places such as Yale and the American Civil Liberties Union who will speak about the Trump-shaped elephant in the room. The speakers will also voice their support for a bill that would allow Congress to create a committee to assess a president's mental and physical health. The group's argument, also made in an accompanying book and in a documentary that will be screened at the events, is simple, if controversial: Donald Trump should be impeached by Congress under the 25th Amendment, which calls for removal if a president is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."

In the group's view, echoed in a letter sent to every member of Congress earlier this August by some of its members, Trump's alleged "severe emotional impediments" make him a danger to both himself and the country at large. Elsewhere, others have increasingly gotten vocal in pointing to the drastic changes in Trump's speaking style in recent years as well as his frequent memory and concentration flubs as a sign of cognitive decline. To pick one recent example, Trump nearly forgot to sign an executive order he had issued Thursday, which he had also done in March.

I work in the mental health community, and I can attest to the fact that Trump's mental health is a topic that comes up with some frequency.

As does his intelligence.

Courtesy of the Daily Kos:

Late Professor William T. Kelley taught Marketing at Wharton School of Business and Finance, University of Pennsylvania, for 31 years, ending with his retirement in 1982. Dr. Kelley, who also had vast experience as a business consultant, was the author of a then-widely used textbook called Marketing Intelligence -- The Management of Marketing Information (originally published by P. Staples, London, 1968). Dr. Kelley taught marketing management to both undergraduate and graduate students at Wharton. Dr. Bill was one of my closest friends for 47 years when we lost him at 94 about six years ago. Bill would have been 100 this year.

Donald J. Trump was an undergraduate student at Wharton for the latter two of his college years, having been graduated in 1968.

Professor Kelley told me 100 times over three decades that “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had.” I remember his emphasis and inflection — it went like this — “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had.” Dr. Kelley told me this after Trump had become a celebrity but long before he was considered a political figure. Dr. Kelley often referred to Trump’s arrogance when he told of this — that Trump came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything.

Stupid and possibly insane, THAT is who almost sixty three million voters thought was a better choice than the woman who had served two terms as a United States Senator as well as the Secretary of State.

And now look where we are.

He is SO stupid.

Donald Trump IS the president of the Virgin Islands.

Apparently Trump actually met with Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp., and because he knows NOTHING about ANYTHING thought that he was talking to the PRESIDENT of the Virgin Islands, while completely unaware that he in fact had that title.

I don't know who is dumber, Donald Trump, or the people who voted for Donald Trump.

Brian Kilmeade of Fox and Friends suggests that 9-11 memorials are in danger of being removed like Confederate statues.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

During an interview with Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Kilmeade asked if he had any concern about the future security of the Flight 93 National Monument, which he suggested could become a target for activists in the same way that statues of Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson have become targets.

“Do you worry 100 years from now someone’s going to try to take that memorial down like they’re trying to remake our memorials today?” he asked.

Zinke didn’t directly respond to Kilmeade’s question, and he only issued a vague platitude about learning from history.

“Well I’m one that believes that you know we should learn from history,” he replied. “And I think our monuments are part of our country’s history. We can learn from it. Since we don’t put up statues of Jesus, everyone’s going to fall morally short.”

I am not sure how having statues of Jesus would make us all moral, but this entire conversation is so stupid that it makes my head ache.

The majority of the Confederate statues were put up between the 1890's and the 1950's to glorify the Civil War and to remind Black folks that people fought and died to keep them in slavery.

That is not even remotely like building a monument to those who died in the biggest terrorist attack in American history.

Just the very fact that this has to be explained to the host of a cable news program suggests that Fox News should be removed from the airwaves to preserve the intelligence of the American people.

Online advertising makes the spreading of fake news as easy as tying your shoes.

Courtesy of Bloomberg:

The intentional spreading of false stories has been credited with swaying such monumental events as last year's Brexit vote and U.S. presidential election. Tech firms such as Alphabet Inc. unit Google and Facebook Inc. have been trying to find ways to weed it out, or at least help users spot it. Some say we need to start earlier, educating children on how to think critically.

But understanding the unique epidemiology of fake news may be no less important. Unlike a typical virus, purveyors of falsehood don't have to infect people at random. Thanks to the wealth of information available on social media and the advent of targeted advertising, they can go straight for the most susceptible and valuable victims -- those most likely to spread the infection.

This insight emerges from a recent study by network theorists Christoph Aymanns, Jakob Foerster and Co-Pierre Georg, who ran computer simulations of the way fake news moves through social networks. Using state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, they examined how individuals might learn to recognize false news, and sought to identify the most important factors in helping fake news spread.

They found that the most important catalyst of fake news was the precision with which the purveyor targeted an audience -- a task that can easily be accomplished using the data that tech companies routinely gather and sell to advertisers. The key was to seed an initial cluster of believers, who would share or comment on the item, recommending it to others through Twitter or Facebook. False stories spread farther when they were initially aimed at poorly informed people who had a hard time telling if a claim was true or false.

Hence, we've unwittingly engineered a social media environment that is inherently prone to fake news epidemics. When marketers use information on surfing habits, opinions and social connections to aim ads at people with just the right interests, this can facilitate beneficial economic exchange. But in the wrong hands, the technology becomes a means for the precision seeding of propaganda.

I read through the entire article and to sum it up in a few words, we're fucked.

It seems the only possible long tern solution to this problem is to convince people to stay off social media entirely, and we know that ain't happening.

Or to dramatically improve our education system.

What was that first one again?

Fox News pulled off the air in Britain. They could not find an audience dumb enough to watch apparently.

Courtesy of CNN:

Rupert Murdoch and his sons are pulling Fox News off the air in Britain. The network's parent company, 21st Century Fox, has announced that the controversial news channel will no longer be broadcast in the U.K. after failing to attract an audience.

The network has also become a lightning rod for critics seeking to spoil the Murdochs' planned $15 billion takeover of Sky, the top pay TV provider in the U.K.

"Fox News is focused on the U.S. market and designed for a U.S. audience and, accordingly, it averages only a few thousand viewers across the day in the U.K.," 21st Century Fox said in a statement.

"We have concluded that it is not in our commercial interest to continue providing Fox News in the U.K.," it added.

Yes a cable news station designed to attract the most ignorant viewers in the country, fill their empty heads with lies and conspiracy theories, and then send them to the polls to vote for the most corrupt politicians imaginable.

Apparently that is a model which does not work outside of America.

Gee lucky us.

So I guess Britain will not have to deal with shit like this.
This, this is why we have Donald Trump.

Indiana man fatally shoots nine year old daughter while teaching about gun safety.

Courtesy of Time:

An Indiana man has been charged for fatally shooting his 9-year-old daughter in the head while teaching his two sons about gun safety.

On June 10, Eric Hummel, 33, from Hobart, Indiana, was telling his sons about the dangers of playing with guns when his daughter Olivia walked into the room, People, citing court documents, reports. Unaware that the gun was loaded, he said he pointed it toward her and fired.

Hummel has since been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death, battery resulting in death to a person less than 14 years old, reckless homicide, and, in addition, two counts of neglect of a dependent, People reports. Hummel, who has entered a not guilty plea, faces 20 to 40 years on the neglect of a dependent resulting in death charge, which is a Level 1 felony, according to People.

"She’s dead, she’s dead. I thought it was empty, you can kill," Hummel told the police officer who arrived on the scene, according to a police report obtained by People.

"I was showing the boys the gun and told them not to ever play with it because it can kill someone, then she walked in in the room and I pointed it at her and pulled the trigger, thinking it was empty," he continued, according to People.

Now see, this guy is simply too stupid to have ever been allowed to own a gun.

Anybody who would point a gun at ANYBODY, much less a child, and pull the trigger does not know the first thing about gun safety.

Despite the pain this man feels at the loss of his little girl, he absolutely deserves to be convicted of every one of the charges against him.

And perhaps even more.

Bill Maher laments the end of the summer mental health break.

My favorite part:

"So I don't know how this happened, or when exactly this stupidifying of the whole year. Maybe it was the advent of Fox News. Maybe it was when we made stars out of the Kardashians. Maybe it was the day John McCain decided to let an ill advised summer fling with a ditzy moron last all the way into November.  Whatever it was we have got to get summer back. We've got to be able to enjoy stupidity again. Hard earned, respectable, stupidity. That's what my goal is in the age of Trump."

By the way the whole show last night was very solid.

From the opening monologue, to the interview with  Dan Savage, to the great folks on the panel, the show pretty entertaining from start to finish.

Which is great, because the show last week was absolutely terrible and was bad to the point where I almsot skipped this one.

Glad I didn't.

Donald Trump just fired the guys who maintain our nuclear arsenal. Wait, what?

Courtesy of Gizmodo:

The NNSA is the $12 billion-a-year agency that “maintains and enhances the safety, security, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile.” It’s unclear when the two officials will be replaced.

Traditionally, all political appointees of an outgoing presidential administration turn in resignation letters effective on noon of inauguration day, January 20. But appointees in key positions—like the people who make sure our nukes work—are often asked to stay on in their roles until a replacement can be found and confirmed by the Senate, helping ensure a smooth transition and allowing our government to continue functioning. In fact, for the entirety of Obama’s first term and into part of his second, the NNSA Administrator remained a Bush appointee.

Trump, however, appears determined to immediately push out everyone who was appointed by Obama, regardless of whether or not he has anyone in line for the job. Or, as our source put it: “It’s a shocking disregard for process and continuity of government.”

Just in case you are not sure if this is a really big deal or not:

The source later added, “I’m more and more coming around to the idea that we’re so very very fucked.”

Yeah, what he said.

Gee I am trying to think of which leader of a foreign government might be overjoyed at Donald Trump undermining our nuclear capabilities.

Wait, don't tell me, I've almost got it.

Oops, lost it.

Maybe YOU can think of who it might be.

Female Trump supporter shows up to rally with misspelled sign attacking Paul Ryan.

So what do we think?

Is she accusing Ryan of trading baseball cards, stocks and bonds, or his integrity for votes?

Yeah yeah I know, she was trying to spell "traitor" and she was just a few brain cells shy of sealing the deal.

Seriously though considering that this is a Trump supporter I think we should simply be impressed that she showed up fully clothed.

Sarah Palin links to story claiming that the leading cause of death among minorities is abortion. These are minority fetuses she is talking about.

So in Palin's most recent Facebook post that is NOT about the Olympics, she links to that same Right Wing rag she has been linking to for the last two weeks, The Independent Journal.

In this most recent completely ridiculous, illogical, inflammatory article they link to a University of North Carolina study and then used the raw data to claim that the leading cause of "death" among minorities is "voluntary infanticide" which apparently is an anti-abortion phrase for terminating a pregnancy.

First off the definition of the  word "infanticide" is the following:

1.the crime of killing a child within a year of birth.

2.a person who kills an infant, especially their own child.

Now when they say "killing a child within a year of birth" they mean within a year AFTER the birth, not before the birth.

I realize that some of these concepts can be confusing if you suffer some kind of severe brain damage or learn things from Right Wing news sources, but "death" can really only occur after "birth."

Therefore the leading cause of death among minorities is no more abortion than the leading cause of traffic accidents is caused by people not purchasing motor vehicles.

I think my favorite part of Palin's Facebook post was this snarky sentence:

The Politically Correct types don't want to talk about this.

Actually I'm more or less a politically correct type, and I really hope that Palin and her loony tune pals continue to talk about this, and other subjects like this.

It just makes it easier to point and laugh at them that way.

The head of the police union explains that the North Miami cop who shot the black man was actually aiming for the autistic guy next to him playing with a toy truck. Oh, well okay then.

Courtesy of CNN:

The police shooting of an African-American caregiver, who was lying in the street trying to help an autism patient, was accidental, according to the local police union representing the North Miami officer.

The officer had intended to shoot the patient, whom he thought posed a danger, but accidentally shot the caregiver instead, said John Rivera, the President of the Dade County Police Benevolent Association.

Charles Kinsey, a behavior therapist, was shot Monday by police -- an incident which has sparked outrage. Footage released by Kinsey's attorney showed his client lying on the ground holding both hands in the air, next to a 23-year-old man with autism.

Rivera offered an explanation Thursday, saying that the police officer opened fire because he thought the white individual, whom they later learned is a man with autism, was going to harm Kinsey.

"This wasn't a mistake in the sense that the officer shot the wrong guy or he thought that Kinsey was the bad guy," he said in a press conference Thursday.

Mr. Kinsey, that black caregiver who was shot, had this to say:

Kinsey told WSVN that his patient was holding a toy truck, not a firearm. He said he tried to explain the situation to officers.

Cell phone footage showed Kinsey lying in the street with his hands in the air.

"All he has is a toy truck," he shouted. "I am a behavior therapist at a group home."

After shooting him the cops rolled him over and placed handcuffs on him.

At this point I do not even care which one of the two people the officer was firing at, because to shoot at either one of them is completely indefensible.

Look I work with clients very much like this young man with the truck, and I can tell you that they would be almost completely unable to comply with shouted requests coming from the police.

And the more upset they got the more likely it would be that their actions appeared out of control and possibly aggressive.

Police need to have significant training in how to deal with people with disabilities or who are suffering with a mental illness or deficiency.

There is a way to calm them down and often gain their compliance, but I can guarantee it will not happen with guns drawn.

On the other hand I would like to suggest that this Mr. Kinsey be given a fucking raise and perhaps receive some kind of award or something, because that is a dedicated professional, and deserves all the recognition that he can get.

Jesus take the wheel. Seriously Jesus take it. WTF Jesus?

Darn it, it's so hard to concentrate with everybody screaming "stop" and "look out" at me.
Courtesy of NWF Daily News:

A 28-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation after driving into a Mary Esther house Thursday morning.

The woman told Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies she was praying at the time and had her eyes closed, according to the OCSO.

The Fort Walton Beach woman was traveling eastbound on Marcia Drive when she failed to stop at a stop sign, went through an intersection and into the yard of a home on Miramar Drive.

She tried to back out but got stuck in the sand, the OCSO said.

She was cited for reckless driving with property damage.

Personally I blame God.

I mean if a person is trying to have a talk with him, the least he can do is make sure they do not plow into somebody's yard.

You know it's almost enough to make me stop believing in God.

Yep, that's it, I'm done.

The evolution of the Donald Trump supporter.

Let's hope that most of his current supporters managed to evolve out of the mouth breathing knuckle dragging stage before it's too late.

Apparently Sarah Palin does not know the difference between Facebook memes and actual news.

If it's on Facebook it must be true. Right?
Courtesy of the Moosenugget Moron's Facebook page:

Want a great summary of memes and reports to keep you up to speed on a myriad of news topics? If you only read one thing throughout the day, THIS IS IT. Hat tip to my Minnesota buddy Mike who is always on top of the issues for all of us, and he's allowed me to share his email address so you can receive his email report, too! To be added to his list just shoot Mike an email. mpdecker2003@yahoo.com (Oh yeah, I think we should totally shoot this Mike guy an e-mail. I'll bet by the end of the day he will be SO happy that Palin shared his e-mail address.)

(Purveyors of imperative info like this are the type of guys I pal around with!)

(Actually I think we knew that already.)

Here's a sample of yesterday's email from this true American patriot who's fed up with politics-as-usual, and he's doing something about it!

Here is an example of the kind of "imperative info" that this Mike guy provides.

You may recognize it as yet another failed attempt by the Right Wing to get Americans outraged over something that Obama did that every other President has also done before him.
Now see dammit I KNEW that Ronald Reagan and George H. Bush were secretly communists!

Can't say I'm surprised that Sarah Palin is bragging that she gets her "information" from the same place that your Aunt Ethel gets her proof positive that Michelle Obama is a pre-op transsexual and the President is her gay love slave. After all we've read her posts, where else would be be getting it?

However I take it as real evidence that she really does not have a full time advisor on staff who would surely have told her that this was a really stupid thing to do.

BTW Sarah we are still waiting for more information about Todd's accident. Remember, pics or it never happened.

Pro-gun mom shot in the back by four year old son with gun left in the backseat of her car.

Courtesy of the New York Daily News:

A proud, pro-gun mom was accidentally shot by her 4-year-old son — just a day after the Second Amendment-loving woman boasted about her tot’s shooting skills.

The Florida boy found the loaded weapon in mom Jamie Gilt’s car Tuesday and shot her as they cruised down a Putnam County road, officials said. The 31-year-old mother survived the mid-drive attack and is in stable condition.

“Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22,” Gilt wrote on Facebook Monday during a fiery online debate about guns as a means of self-defense. The Jacksonville mom maintained she has the right to shoot anyone who threatens her and her family — and she's teaching her kids to do the same.

This was from the woman's Twitter account:
Not sure if that was the "toy" that put the hole in her body, but it is clear she does not respect the deadliness of firearms.

I would like to think that this woman will have learned her lesson, especially since both she and her child survived what could have been a fatal incident for one or both of them, but if this post from her Facebook page is any indication she might be one of those slow learner types.

Bristol Palin tries her hand at being political. It's as pathetic as you might imagine.

A photo posted by Bristol Palin (@bsmp2) on
I love this part:

"Not looking for an argument but this hits the nail on the head."

Of course she's not looking to start an argument, she never wins those unless she has a drink to throw in somebody's face or her sister Willow to back her up.

I would contend that this is actually one of Bristol's very rare attempts to make any kind of political point (The vast majority of posts posts on her blog are of course the work of Nancy French), and of course she screws it up by failing to recognize who Bernie Sanders is, and what he actually stands for.

I am sure that she saw this picture and in her pea brain thought "Yep, if I post this on Instagram people will know I am politically savvy, and have an informed opinion."

Instead of course it simply reinforces the fact that she is a barely coherent moron, whose only use in life seems to be drinking like a fish and trying to trap men into marrying her with her no longer under factory warranty vajajay and baby manufacturing  uterus.

Father pretends to shoot his daughter, before actually shooting her, and then lies about it to the police.

Courtesy of the Temple Daily Telegram:

The 7-year-old son of Justin Ryan Jones said his father was pretending to fire at his sister when the gun went off and he shot the 9-year-old girl, according to an arrest affidavit.

Jones, 30, of Austin is charged with injury to a child, a first-degree felony, and remained in the Bell County Jail on Monday in lieu of $25,000 bail, jail records showed.

Jones reportedly told a Bell County Sheriff’s Department deputy he was showing his children gun safety when the gun he was holding fired and shot his 9-year-old daughter.

But Jones’ son said his father was pretending to shoot them.

The 7-year-old said he liked the clicking sound the gun made. He said his father pulled the trigger and “his sister was shot,” the affidavit said.

Jones’ other son, age 6, said his father was pointing the gun at his sister and held it in both hands while pretending to shoot them.

Personally I don't see how this guy fails to make it as an NRA poster boy.

Let's face it we have become inured to the idea that guns are dangerous, and we have lost our respect for the devastation that they can inflict.

Guns are not a tool nor a toy, they are an implement of death.

Period.

Four children left in a car with a loaded gun in Tennessee. Guess what happens next.

Courtesy of Local 8 News:

Officers say four children had been left in the car while their mother and step-father were inside the building a short distance away, paying a bill. The mother also left her purse with a loaded semi-automatic pistol inside.

Police say the boy's 8-year-old brother tried to unload the weapon by removing the magazine when the gun discharged, "accidentally" fired, hitting the 7-year-old boy in the head.

The boy was flown to UT Medical Center's trauma center for treatment, where he died.

Believe it or not the authorities are calling this an "accident."

In my opinion both of these adults should be thrown in jail and their children put into a place where they will be safe from this kind of stupidity.

Ben Carson tries to defend a made up story of his honesty as a student, by posting a link to a parody article from 1970. Oh this guy's the gift that never stops giving.

"I got you guys now."
Courtesy of AmericaBlog:

In his 1990 autobiography, “Gifted Hands,” Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the class—identified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301—that their final exam papers had “inadvertently burned,” requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher. All the students but Mr. Carson walked out.

“The professor came toward me. With her was a photographer for the Yale Daily News who paused and snapped my picture,” Mr. Carson wrote. “ ‘A hoax,’ the teacher said. ‘We wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class.’ ” Mr. Carson wrote that the professor handed him a $10 bill.

No photo identifying Mr. Carson as a student ever ran, according to the Yale Daily News archives, and no stories from that era mention a class called Perceptions 301. Yale Librarian Claryn Spies said Friday there was no psychology course by that name or class number during any of Mr. Carson’s years at Yale.

Well Ben Carson has had enough of his good name being sullied by people bringing up those damn "facts" so he posted this earlier today on Facebook.

On Saturday a reporter with the Wall Street Journal published a story that my account of being the victim of a hoax at...
Posted by Dr. Ben Carson on Sunday, November 8, 2015
Did you happen to notice what is at the top of this story vindicating Carson?

Yep. That article, labeled under the header “parody,” is responding to a joke issue of the Yale Record, the college’s humor magazine, where the story about the hoax class first appeared. Carson is treating Yale’s equivalent of The Onion as a matter of historical record.

Wow!  I don't even...I mean wow!

I think we may actually have to stop comparing Carson to Sarah Palin. Because at this point I kind of think he has left Palin in his rear view mirror as far as telling lies and batshit crazy statements are concerned.

Seriously....wow!
