Bristol stands silent while Dr. Drew trashes the father of her child.

Look how hard would it have been for Bristol to simply say "Well Levi is NOT like those other dads, he does ask to spend time with Tripp quite a bit"?
For all of those who want to make the case that the Johnston's are lying and that Levi and Bristol have "made up" as reported on TMZ and other gossip sites, along with the BS about him being "able to see his son as often as he likes", I give you exhibit A.
Don't you think if they were getting along, and there were no hard feelings, that Bristol would stand up for the guy she tricked into knocking her up?
Update: Okay this just makes me nauseous.

ReplyDeleteDoes Bristol have no shame? Is she willing to allow the father of her child be reviled whether directly or indirectly? How is their son going to feel about that when he is old enough to think for himself? How is he going to feel about her allowing his father to be demeaned in public?
ReplyDeletePerhaps she is counting on what a lot of single parents count on: that he or she can indoctrinate the child with so much hate of mistrust of the other parent before the child is old enough to ask questions, seek answers and draw his or her own conclusions that the child will never want to grow close with that parent.
Thing is, most children finally do figure out the truth. Bristol and Levi both should understand that there will be ample information and commentary out in the world waiting to feed their son's curiosity.
Sarah, as embarrassed mother and vengeful mother-in-law, needs to remember that as well. No amount of money thrown at a child, no amount of threats or bribes or distractions will keep that little boy from seeking and finding the truth.
Kids have a funny way of ferreting things out. No doubt there will be other kids who will be more than willing to help prod him into seeking the truth.
Every time Bristol fails to explain or stand up for Levi, will be a count against her in her son's eyes. Even if Levi was truly a deadbeat Dad, no child wants to believe that and no child should be allowed to think it. Every parent has some redeeming qualities.
The longer Bristol puts off admitting to and speaking about Levi's strengths, the stronger and more wonderful he will look in her sons eyes in just a few years.
Someone needs to counsel Bristol that she is on a path that is not only detrimental to her son but also detrimental to her relationship with her son.
Bristol, give Levi his due. At least stand up against someone trying to slur him publicly because if you don't, when the kid realizes Levi is not the Big Ogre you are allowing him to be typecast as, Levi will be all the more appealing and you, as the lying or complicit-to-lies mother, will lose your credibility and perhaps even the respect of your son.
What a disingenuous clip. Where is the baby right now? How many young teen mothers get nearly 2000/mo in child support from their "baby Daddy?" Why does Bristol try to keep Levi Johnston from seeing his son if it is so hard for her?

ReplyDeleteDr. Drew is not what he appears to be. He has charisma, so those who put the reality shows he is in together use him as their actor. He is not the wise doctor he appears to be. He is mainly a media whore. He has made a lot of errors and one of them was speaking about the situation with Bristol without knowing what he was talking about. At least Dr. Phil would present both sides, gather information and tell everyone what their part in it is. I had a close relative get pregnant on purpose in high school. She told me she was trying to get pregnant. She did it to trap the boy, get out from under her parents, and keep other girls from getting the boy. Those kind of situations always end in disaster. I took her to talk to some wise people and she would not listen. She now tells a completely different version of the story, that she got pregnant by accident.

RESPONSE: All the time. A child support petition is about child support. Time with the child is a separate petition in most cases (the exception being when there have been numerous violations of orders so the courts use support to pressure the custodial parent to comply - but currently it appears that Bristol is not in violation of any court order.
I understand the anger at Bristol, but I think it's important to not let the anger cloud the facts or judgments. There is a lot to think is wrong in this picture. I don't get the total picture. But both parents should support their child, and both parents should participate in the child's life. If both aren't happening, each parent has recourse in the courts. Either Levi is doing stuff we don't know about, or he has chosen for his own reasons not to pursue the matter in the courts.

The late teen years and 20s are the best physical times for women (and men) to have children. How is the genetic pool being affected by those who wait until late in life, when eggs and sperm have aged out? Studies show that the outcome isn't always the best.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Americans don't want to grow up and accept responsibility early enough. We've been led to believe we should sow "wild oats" for as long as we can; after all, that doesn't make you a better person; in fact, it has made a lot of people worse.
Having kids young isn't the problem--not growing up is and it seems society doesn't want us to--it's a lot more profitable to cater to the mind that's stuck in adolescence and hasn't moved on.
Some people shouldn't even be allowed to raise a dog...
Dr. Drew said the stats are that 80% of the Baby Daddies bail - not Levi...and he even wanted to marry the "Bristhole"! What a sucker!

I don't think Drew was slamming Levi. He was talking about the phenonmemom of absent fathers. It is a horrible epidemic that needs to be addressed. It didn't seem like it would be appropriate for Bristol to interupt what he was saying at the time.

Finally, the part of your piece from Mercedes and her mother that was most puzzling was 16 or 17 year olds doing everything they could to try and have a baby. WTF! We know Sarah is oblivious, but this would take eztraordinarily bad parenting to first, ignore that they were copulating like rabbits, and second, to have teenagers that would think having a child at this age is a good plan. Me thinks Bristol was begging for her parents' attention any way she knew how.
Sigh. Bristol's "book" will be a dud, but it won't really matter. These people have learned how to milk the system, and they aren't going away.

I've been convinced for a long time that they are a bunch of ignorant, dishonest fame whores. They will be until they turn to dust. Except for some opportunistic mockery of them and the society (ours) that essentially created them, I'm really done with all of this.
What attorney worth his salt lets his client get dinged with a $2000 a month child support payment and doesn't demand an equitable visitation arrangement in return? There is something desperately not right here and I am beginning to think there is something we have yet to learn about the Johnstons, Levi and this baby that is allowing the Palins to keep Levi away. Either that or he is receiving very poor legal counsel. As for Bristol, I say she is the fairest of fair game now. She's no longer the child of Palin, she is now a separate, adult public figure and I think the gloves should come off as far as her relationships, her living arrangements and her abstinence or lack thereof.

It seems like with professional sports contracts, only a lucky few will truly profit in the way BristHole has with her pregnancy (ies?). I wonder how many parents are having to scramble to make sure their little 'ordinary' girls understand that not all young ladies will end up with book contracts, speaking engagements and the adoration of millions of 'moralists' if they get pregnant. Millions of black and brown teens keep their babies but somehow they are wrong and demonstrative of everything that is wrong in black and brown communities. This dim bulb keeps her baby (that no one forced her to get pregnant with mind you) and she's somehow a perfect pro-life/abstinence only role model? What's going on in this crazy country?
BristHole (and honestly, I don't like talking that way about anyone, but in this case it fits) would definitely get more respect if she took some of her ill-gotten cash, quietly used it to attend college and stayed out of the public eye. This sideshow she is performing now is insane, but hey when you're a Palin, cash rules everything, and skoolin' is optional.
As I've said before, are we still going to have to hear her preachify about what a mistake she made and how incredibly hard her life is when she's a 37-year-old used up hag with no education?
Anon 5:11 I agree with you. I think Pinsky was making general comments about educating young guys and women and generally about absentee fathers. I think we forget that we follow Palin stuff (BS !!) closely but other people don't know all the details. So he could easily not know the entire story.

ReplyDeleteI graduated from a great college with honors. I was editor-in-chief of my college newspaper, and the contributing editor to a local magazine. I'm now writing book reviews for an on-line publication.
I also won countless trophies for public speaking. And when I was interviewed live by a local news station, I was called a "word wizard" by the anchorman, and was told I was very poised and charming in front of the camera.
Yet, I'm sitting here wondering if a temp job that pays barely enough to support me is going to come through because I am so desperate to have a job, any job.
Perhaps if I was the offspring of a vindictive, ignorant grifter, and a marginally educated, inarticulate broodmare I'd have a better chance at success.
We really don't live in a meritocracy, do we?

I have two grown sons and taught them this very thing.
If you don't want life threatening venereal disease or children you MUST wear a condom.
If your girlfriend is taking birth-control pills or using something else....good for her.
A condom is a perfect back-up, accidents happen.
But....first and foremost, if the responsibility is YOURS, it doesn't matter if you are male or female!
If I had a daughter I would tell her the same thing ....insist your boyfriend wear a condom AND take birth-control pills!
Dr. Drew is jeopardizing his license by his recent behavior. He certainly has no credibility left among professional colleagues. He should now be considered a celebrity talking head and not a 'doctor.'

I was aware that Dr. Drew was loosing his grip, I didn't know it was this bad. I will give it to him, he did admit that he scored high on the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI). He suffers from narcissism, perfect for anyone who sells out to a corporate spiel and all the get fabulously rich schemes for doctors. He was selling a book, The Mirror Effect. Now we are to believe he can't spot the celebrity narcissist family in action? TAKE HIS LICENSE. He is doing more harm than good. This is a man that teens listen to.

Is Bristol abstinate is a legitimate question. Bristol brought it up that she has a roommate, she can talk about that like other teens. It is the job of the media to learn what 'roommate' means. The media is not going there and the blogs must ask the questions and find answers. Levi wants to sell a reality show, I think he said it would feature his hockey buddies. That would mean they would be fine with celebrity, like the Jersey Shore stars. I have no clue what version of reality Levi wants to sell, he would certainly talk to his friends about their participation. It was RadarOnline that was using him in the January article that made him look stupid. Levi Johnston's Excellent Beer Pong Adventure RadarOnline is carrying the Palin water and no one will call them on that? They will do these stories for Bristol until the truth is told. Calling them out may not stop them but it will help put a damper on their atrocious scams.
Maybe the residents of Wasilla will wake up when they rename the town Palinville and Sarah comes back as Queen Sarah of Palinville..

It is ridiculous if a Dr. can't back up his claim. How can he speak for Bristol? He is full of it and I hope parents let him know. Bristol is a role model and must be clear about her message to teens. Not say one thing and next tell another to a Dr. for him to promote.
How convenient if both the abstinence only and opposites have her for a role model.
The good Dr. is part of a confused message because we don't hear Bristol being honest with the children who follow her. These quick change artists need to get their stories straight and be loud and clear to the preteens and teens that they target. Where are the parents?
Dr. Drew and others need to know more about the roommate, the one that looks like Levi. He did see Bristol's mid-section expansion. He might know what is going on. Hopefully, it is birth control and not another pregnancy that is showing.
I am wondering if Dr. Drew met this man? Is that how he knows that Bristol does NOT believe in abstinence only?
Does anyone who understands the Heath, Palin family's, And now seeing the expanding midsection of Bristol, believe this will be allowed to continue?

Do you think expanding midsection Bristol would have an abortion? ! am hoping it is an improper diet or birth control pills. I don't know what Dr. Drew knows but I do think he will be in on a "ANOTHER STORY COMMING."

Anyone who is into the whole reality show phenomena should follow Dr. Drew and/or Bristol and do an exposé. It should be a big deal when Bristol is saying abstinence only is not realistic, abstinence only is the only way, abstinence only is left out but pause and so on. IT IS A BIG DEAL WHEN SHE IS SENDING CONFUSING UNCLEAR MESSAGES TO TEENS AND SHE HAS HELP FROM A NATIONALLY TELEVISED "RESPECTED DOCTOR." A BIGGER DEAL that no one notices or calls them out.
