While debating a land-use bill at a committee meeting on Tuesday night, Pennsylvania state Rep. Matt Bradford laid his hand — for just a moment — on the left forearm of the colleague sitting next to him. 

That colleague was conservative Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, who interrupted Bradford mid-sentence with a personal bit of information. 

“Look, I'm a heterosexual. I have a wife, I love my wife, I don't like men — as you might. But stop touching me all the time,” Metcalfe told Bradford, who then began laughing. 

Several other members of the committee, which Metcalfe chairs, giggled and smirked. 

“Keep your hands to yourself,” said Metcalfe, a Republican from Butler County. “If you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle who might like it. 

“I don't.” 

Bradford, a Democrat, appeared to be stunned by the comments. 

“Okay, chairman, chairman,” he said, widely grinning as committee members laughed. 

One member appeared to conceal her face from the camera with her hand. “We're officially off the rails. ... My intent was just to beg for your permission for about 30 seconds.” 

“Then beg, don't touch,” responded Metcalfe, who is serving his 10th term in office. Bradford continued to laugh.

I have seen some rather stunning examples of homophobia in my time, but I think this one easily makes the top of the list.

In a lengthy new sit-down interview with WVUE, Yenni insists there was no sex involved and that he is not gay. 

“We had some off color texts,” said Yenni in the interview. 

“Did you mean what you wrote?”, asked the interviewer Lee Zurik. 

Replied Yenni: “Probably not, because nothing was acted upon. You know, there was… there was no sex, you know? Everybody thinks, oh, something sexual happened. But there was no sex. They think these things… they think things were acted upon. They think there was, you know…. this was over a period, you know, the total time frame, probably less than two weeks.” 

“So, if you’re not going to act out on it, why do it?”, asked Zurik. 

“Exactly what I ask myself every day,” said Yenni.

Man that has to be one of the most uncomfortable interviews that I have watched in quite awhile.

By the way let me help this poor slob answer that question as to why he did this.

HE WANTED TO HAVE GAY SEX!

It may or may not have happened, but that was definitely his intent.

And the sad part is that because of his religion, and because of his fear of rejection from his community, he is going to try and live his life denying who he truly is, and probably respond to any questions about his sexuality by trying to pass as much anti-gay legislation as he possibly can.

When lying about being caught having gay sex in an alley is preferable to the truth. Update!

Michigan state Rep. Todd Courser (R) planned to release a fake story claiming that he was caught having sex with a male prostitute in order to cover up his relationship with fellow state Rep. Cindy Gamrat (R), according to audio recordings released by The Detroit News Friday. 

Courser was apparently caught on tape discussing the plan in a series of recordings made by a House aide. 

“Courser secretly removed from Caucus several weeks ago due to male on male paid for sex behind a prominent Lansing nightclub,” an email announcing the fake story would have stated. “He is a bisexual, porn-addicted sexual deviant.” 

Courser said on one recording that the fake story was designed to make any subsequent reports look like “a complete smear campaign” against him. He also commented that the story needed to “make anything else that comes out after that — that isn’t a video — mundane, tame by comparison.” 

“I need to, if possible, inoculate the herd against gutter politics that are coming,” he said.

Okay this one is a little hard to wrap my head around.

So this conservative lawmaker was willing to release a story that he was a porn addicted, male prostitute visiting, closeted homosexual rather than have the true story of his affair with a female lawmaker come to light.

Gee that must make her feel terrific.

Yes I realize that the plan, a poorly thought out one in my opinion, was to reveal that this gay sex story was false in the hopes that it would give Courser the credibility to dismiss the true story as well.

But I still don't see how he thought something like that would work.

That is some crazy conservative thinking right there.

Update: As it turns out these two were also ardent defenders of "traditional marriage":  

“We are living in the last days,” Gamrat wrote on Facebook after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage. “Last Friday was a sad day for America. Last Friday was a crushing day for those who believe in traditional marriage and traditional morality. I need your help and your country needs your help now.” 

Gamrat said the ruling was a “trampling of the people” and that “the ramifications of this decision will be devastating, affecting churches, schools, businesses, pastors, government officials, and families.” 

After the ruling, Courser proposed a bill with Gamrat’s support requiring all marriage certificates in the state to be signed by a religious leader, essentially making it impossible for municipal or judicial officials to wed gays. “The contract that has been in place for thousands of years is between a man and his wife on one side and God on the other side,” Courser said. 

As if that weren’t enough, Courser was also working on the “Pastor Protection Act” that would ensure that religious leaders do not have to perform duties that don’t align with their beliefs, like gay marriage.

Yes let's protect traditional marriage from "teh gays" but not from two horny lawmakers desperate to break their vows by getting freaky at the local no tell motel.

Michigan pastor compares homosexuality to being an axe murderer because you know they have SO much in common.

A Michigan pastor has come under fire after he told his congregation that same-sex marriage was wrong because homosexuality was a choice like choosing to be an “axe murderer.” 

During a sermon earlier this month, Clint Echols, pastor of First Baptist Church in Zeeland, pointed out that the Bible said that God considered homosexuality to be an “abomination.” 

According to Echols, the church should not accept the sexual preference of LGBT people because it was like saying “I think I’m an axe murderer.” 

“It’s an internal compass and a person can discover their sexuality at any moment…oh wait a second, I’m gay, I’m bisexual, I want to change my gender, these things, and that’s being true to themselves and being true to their internal compass,” Echols said. 

“For instance on another, a completely other playing field, if tomorrow I woke up because I have this internal compass that’s telling me what truth is,” he continued. “Tomorrow, if I wake up and say, well, I think I’m an axe murderer, now I’m an axe murderer, would you be happy with that? Would you agree? Would you want me to follow that internal compass?”

Personally I am guessing that this asshole does not even possess an "internal compass."  That's why he needs a book to tell him right from wrong.

I mean seriously, comparing being gay to being a murderer? What kind of fucked up thinking is that?

Potential GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson says being gay is a choice because men turn gay in prison. So he didn't want to be a presidential candidate?

Let me start off by saying I know nothing about gay people.

The renowned neurosurgeon-turned-conservative-celebrity said prisons prove this theory, in an interview with CNN that aired on Wednesday morning. "A lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight — and when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question," he said.

He does realize that sometimes having sex with men is a means for survival in prison right?

Perhaps somebody should let Carson know that a lot of the men that engaging in man on man sex while in prison, go right back to women once they get out.

And besides that if you put a man in a cage for years on end, with no access to women, then he is going to have sex with whoever, or whatever is handy.

If you are gay, you are gay. But if you are in prison you are simply desperate.

Update: Carson has now decided that he should just avoid the topic of homosexuality from now on:  

“I simply have decided I’m not going to really talk about that issue anymore,” Carson said in a phone interview on Hannity’s show on Wednesday. “Every time I’m gaining momentum, the political press says, ‘Let’s talk about gay rights.’ And I’m just not going to fall for that anymore.”

Yeah good luck with that.

For the first time a US court has determined that homosexuality is not a mental disease. The first time?

 In a blow to the controversial practice of gay conversion therapy, a New Jersey judge has ruled that therapists who claim that homosexuality is a curable mental disorder are committing consumer fraud. 

The ruling, issued on Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Peter F. Bariso Jr., is part of an ongoing lawsuit filed on behalf of four men who say they were subjected to humiliating treatments by therapists affiliated with Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing (JONAH), a gay conversion therapy referral service based in Jersey City. Bariso said it violates the state's Consumer Fraud Act to advertise conversion therapy services by describing homosexuality as a mental illness, disease, or disorder. 

"This ruling makes clear that when conversion therapists lie about the nature of homosexuality in order to lure these vulnerable clients into their services and their programs, they're committing fraud," says David Dinielli, deputy legal director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which filed the lawsuit for the plaintiffs. According to the SPLC, this marks the first time a US court has found that homosexuality is not a mental disease.

Just so you know I am embarrassed that I did not realize that the courts had not already made this determination decades ago. 

By comparison the psychiatric community stopped listing homosexuality as a mental illness back in 1973.

That is also somewhat shocking considering what we know today about sexuality, but the fact that it took the courts more than forty years to reach the same conclusion is mind blowing.

Thousands sign petition to keep the TLC show "My Husband's Not Gay" off the air.

Thousands have already signed an online petition calling for the cancellation of a forthcoming TV special about a group of Mormon men who say they are attracted to other men but have chosen to marry women. 

Slated to air on TLC on Jan. 11, "My Husband's Not Gay" promotes "the false and dangerous idea that gay people can and should choose to be straight in order to be part of their faith communities," according to the Change.org petition's founder, Josh Sanders. 

“I started this petition because these men deserve compassion and acceptance," Sanders, a devout Christian who said he was previously subjected to reparative (or "ex-gay") therapy, said in an email statement. "Instead, TLC is presenting their lives as entertainment, and sending the dangerous message that being gay is something that can and ought to be changed." 

He added, "No young person should ever be told to be ashamed of who they are -- especially by a television network.”

As you may remember I posted about this show on Christmas day.

At the time I sort of made light of it because, honestly, how can you take it seriously? And my position really hasn't changed.

"Oh God, why does this feel so right?"

Though I understand the concerns of the LGBT community, I have to say that if the program is anything like the trailer that this may do more to demonstrate the ridiculousness of denying your sexuality in deference to God, than anything else I can imagine.

I mean come on, did that convince any of you that these men are not gay?

New TLC show about gay Mormon men, refusing to admit they are gay. But you know, they are.

"My Husband's Not Gay," a TV special about a group of Mormon men living in Salt Lake City who are attracted to other men but have chosen to marry women is headed to TLC. 

The special will follow couples Jeff and Tanya, Pret and Megan, Curtis and Tera, and a 35-year-old bachelor named Tom, according to The Wrap. 

Quotes from the trailer include "With our faith in God we believe we believe we can overcome anything," "I like to say I've chosen an alternative to an alternative lifestyle" and "I'm interested in men I'm just not interested in men."

This almost cries out for a Jeff Foxworthy like bit called "You might be gay if..."

You might be gay if....you like to nibble the batter off of your corndog before swallowing it whole.

You might be gay if...the first thing you notice when you see your beautiful totally nude wife emerge from the shower is that she's done something different with her hair color.

You might be gay if...you cannot quote any football stats but have memorized every episode of "This Old House."

And you might be gay if....you are the male half of any of these couples.

I swear leave it to religious people to convince themselves that by denying the love they so desperately seek that they are somehow making God love them more.

Just goes to show that denial is not simply a river in Egypt.

Pat Robertson believes that gays will soon die out because they cannot reproduce. Not sure what is more troubling, his understanding of sexuality or of history.

The 700 Club televangelist took a call recently from woman complaining that her church forbids dating or marriage—that even showing interest in the opposite sex is a “sin.” 

Robertson told the woman to “run” from her church before everyone dies out. 

“You know, those who are homosexual will die out because they don’t reproduce. You have to have heterosexual sex to reproduce,” he opined. “Same thing with that church— it’s doomed, it’s going to die out because it’s the most nonsensical thing I’ve heard in a long time.”

While I agree with Robertson that this woman needs to leave her church immediately (Actually leaving ALL churches might not be a bad plan), his contention that homosexuality will die out because they cannot produce offspring together is truly ignorant.

As just about everybody EXCEPT Pat Robertson already knows straight parents produce gay children and have been doing so since the beginning of time.

In fact if Robertson were to open a book that does not begin with the words "In the beginning.." he might realize that teh gays have existed well before the establishment of Christianity, Judaism, or even monotheism.

In fact they are the one constant that ties ALL societies, ethnicities, and past civilizations together.

Suggesting that gay folks will soon die out is like suggesting that Pat Robertson will soon start saying things that are not incredibly stupid.

Not gonna happen.

Phil Robertson claims that diseases, such as AIDS, are God's punishment for sin. Holy crap is it 1981 again?

While promoting his new book unPHILtered: The Way I See It, Robertson spoke at length about what he called the “physiological downside to immorality” in an interview with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins’ radio program Washington Watch last week. 

“I mean, a great question to ask is ‘Why is it that all of these just—is this coincidental that viewing all of the immoral conduct that America now is participating in, I’ve asked a lot of people, Do you think it’s a coincidence that all of these debilitating — and literally, it can cause death — diseases follow that kind of conduct?” Robertson said. 

“God says, ‘One woman, one man,’ and everybody says, ‘Oh, that’s old hat, that’s that old Bible stuff’ and I’m thinking well, let’s see now. A clean guy, a disease-free guy, and a disease-free woman, they marry and they keep their sex between the two of ‘em, uh, they’re not gonna get chlamydia and gonorrhea and syphilis and AIDS. It’s, it’s safe.” 

Robertson concluded that such diseases from such behaviors are punishment from God. 

“Now to me either it’s the wildest coincidence ever that horrible diseases follow immoral conduct,” he said, “or it’s God saying, ‘There’s a penalty for that kind of conduct.’ I’m leanin’ toward there’s a penalty toward it.” 

“So, you read in the Bible, you say well let’s see, ‘Well, it’s one man, one woman,’” he said. “Any logical person would say, what the guy is sayin’ is, that’d be me, is that if you wanna be safe from a lot of debilitating diseases, that’s the route to go. And it agrees with what God says so it’s just one argument after another, Tony, but what can I say all you can do is just show ‘em that and say, ‘Man, we ought to think about this Jesus stuff.’”

You know it occurs to me that if a man and another man, or a woman and another woman,  were to enter into an exclusive relationship that they too would be safe from the diseases that Robertson listed above.

So it seems that the problem is NOT that certain behaviors are deemed sinful in the minds of the narrow minded, and therefore punishable by God.  But instead that those engaging in careless promiscuity, or not practicing safe sex, might infect a partner with a sexually transmitted disease, whether gay or straight.

As for other diseases like cancer, or heart disease, or even Ebola, those seem to care little how moral or immoral a person might be.

And the reason for that is because sickness and death are both a biological inevitability that only the ridiculously superstitious would consider the result of human immorality.

Phil Robertson is an imbecile who insists upon seeing the world through a prism which identifies everything in terms of good vs evil.

And anybody who buys his book looking for wisdom is barking up the wrong fake hillbilly.

Conservative pastor calls for a constitutional amendment that would criminalize homosexuality.

In a video posted to his PreachingPolitics.com website last month that was flagged by the Good As You blog on Monday, Pastor Michael V. Williams asserts that Christians have been “increasingly tolerant” of gay people over the last 50 years. 

“Whereas homosexuality used to be a felony in every state — referred to as sodomy — it has now been decriminalized, and homosexuality is allowed to be openly expressed in public,” he notes. “While Christians are becoming increasingly tolerant of homosexuals, homosexuals are becoming increasingly intolerant of us.” 

“It’s time for Christians to resume obeying God and his word, and to re-criminalize homosexuality, outlaw it again,” the pastor continues. “The only way to do this and keep it beyond the reach of activist judges and unaccountable bureaucrats is to create a constitutional amendment.” 

Williams’ proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution declares that the “United States of America is a Christian nation with Judeo-Christian ethics, morals, principles and values.” 

And it decrees that the “practice of homosexuality in the United States of America and in all its territories and possessions, and in all its States, Counties and Cities shall be a felony punishable by ten years in prison at hard labor.”

But remember, these people are NOT homophobic. They just want to throw gay people into jail for simply loving the "wrong" people.

Homophobic patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan claims he was "just trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus" when he compared the gay lifestyle to bestiality and claimed they were all going to hell.

Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson explained over the weekend that people had misunderstood the intent of his homophobic comments because he was just “trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus.” 

Speaking at the Rock the South festival Cullman, Alabama on Saturday, Robertson defended comments he made to GQ magazine last year comparing homosexuality to bestiality and adultery. 

Robertson had argued that “a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” and said that LGBT people “won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” On Saturday, Robertson told the crowd that he was “actually a nice man,” according to the Birmingham News. 

“I’m trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus,” he said.

Yes and nothing says, "I'm just trying to help you," like comparing someone's sexuality to man on mule love, and suggesting that they are destined to an eternity of pain and suffering in the fiery pits of hell.

There is nothing wrong with being religious, but if you feel justified in telling somebody that because they do not believe as you do that they will punished for all eternity, then yours is a religion of threats and condemnation and not one of love and acceptance as they are so often advertised.

Christian radio host arrested for sexual assault involving a minor. I believe I have written some variation of this same headline multiple times now.

 John Balyo, the WCSG radio personality arrested Friday on a sex assault allegation involving a young boy, was taken into custody at the Big Ticket Festival, one of the nation's largest Christian music events, police confirmed. 

Balyo, 35, of Caledonia, was arrested about 11:30 a.m. June 20 without incident, Battle Creek police Sgt. Jim Martens said. 

Martens said Balyo was identified through investigations following the arrest of another man, Ronald Moser, of Battle Creek. Moser was arrested after police searched his residence on June 5. 

The charge against Balyo involves a single incident in May, Martens said. Homeland Security Investigation agents allege he paid a man, identified as Moser, to arrange a sexual encounter with a minor. Martens declined to discuss specific details of the case against Balyo.

Earlier it was reported that Balyo had been placed on paid leave, but now the radio station is saying that he is no longer affiliated with them.

Gee, ya think?

You know just the other day I was asked by the parent of a young boy that I am working with whether or not I am gay. Of course the subtext being that people believe that gay men are more likely to also be pedophiles.

That of course is incorrect, but part of the reason that such prejudice continues is that some churches either actively push that meme, or subtly suggest it from the pulpit.

In fact you may remember that even Vladimir Putin used that argument in order to oppress homosexuals in Russia.

However from my perspective it really seems that if one were to try and link pedophilia to one demographic it would overwhelmingly be that of Christians. And more appropriately, Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christians.

I'm just saying.

Texas Governor Rick Perry compares homosexuality to alcoholism. Because Texas Governor Rick Perry is an idiot.

Rick Perry knows nothing about being gay. But his corndog might.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) raised eyebrows Wednesday at an event in San Francisco when he drew a parallel between homosexuality and alcoholism. 

An audience member asked Perry about the Texas Republican Party's recent endorsement of "reparative therapy" for gays during the governor's appearance before the Commonwealth Club of California, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Perry responded that he didn't know whether the therapy worked. 

Perry was then asked whether he believes homosexuality is a disorder. 

"Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that," he responded, as quoted by the San Francisco Chronicle. "I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way."

You know I think ole Rick might be on to something here.

I remember watching my alcoholic father stumbling around the house and thinking, "That's so gay."

Obviously being gay is NOTHING like having a predisposition toward alcoholism. And suggesting that it does demonstrates a deeply inaccurate view of homosexuality.

If he wants to make a more accurate comparison he might suggest that homosexuality is like the need for water, in that without love they will die.

It seems to me that people always get hung up on the mechanics of gay love ("Oh God, he put his winkie in his butthole!  Gross!"), instead of recognizing that, just like heterosexual love, there is an emotional and even chemical connection.

If you ever meet an elderly gay couple, and I suggest you do because they are often delightful, you will notice that, much like elderly heterosexual couples, they may not have sexual relations very often anymore but the love and sense of connection is as strong as ever. Perhaps even stronger.

If my father had been able to resist his impulse to drink he might still be alive today.

But if a gay person resists the impulse to love, then what is there to live for?

Republican lawmaker helps to cripple Hawaii's sex education program because he claims it "normalizes" homosexuality.

Hawaii State Representative Bob McDermott clearly very upset that he never gets in any of this.

Hawaii’s state Department of Education announced on Saturday that its middle school sexual education program would only be taught to students whose parents explicitly opted-in. 

The announcement was a victory for Hawaii State Representative Bob McDermott, who claimed that the program would “normalize” homosexuality. Rep. McDermott has long fought against sexual education programs like Pono Choices, which was developed by the University of Hawaii at Mānoa’s Center on Disability Studies using funding from the federal Office of Adolescent Health. (“Pono” is a Hawaiian word typically translated as “righteous.”) 

“I am a little uncomfortable saying this, but this is what your children, your 11-year-old children, are being taught. To me, this is outrageous because it robs them of their innocence and it’s not appropriate,” McDermott said about the program late last year. 

“I can assure you my 11-year-old girl knows nothing about anal sex, and one of the reasons is because she’s not exposed to Pono Choices.” (Yeah, well I can assure this uptight prick that his daughter knows all about anal sex, and could probably teach him a thing or two. These kids are NEVER as innocent as their parents think they are.)


After he made that statement, the Department of Education temporarily suspended the program until it could determine the curriculum’s “appropriateness.” It found that “the cirriculum meets department standards” and “is a culturally responsive curriculum that has resulted in positive outcomes for students.”

However the program was only reinstated on an "opt in" basis which means that parents have to sign a paper allowing their children to attend instruction, rather than the usual method of "opting out." Of course the result of this approach is that more children will miss the opportunity to learn and that is not good for fighting STD's and keeping teen pregnancy stats low.

Personally I am a little surprised that Hawaii is still struggling with this kind of thing.

Not only did they recently pass a law allowing gay marriage, but in my experience it is just about the gayest place on the planet.

Not to mention that everybody is dressed in brightly colored garb, wearing flowers around their neck, and that they have a long standing tradition of young men who dress like women to have sex with other men, called the Mahus.

Historically the Mahus are widely accepted in Hawaiian culture, and are also revered for their dancing and sexual abilities.

But leave it to some uptight haole to screw things up for the people of Hawaii.

Florida lawmaker: Common Core will turn your children gay. Wait, what?

Common Core may not be a well-intentioned set of improved educational standards, as supporters would have you believe, but instead a trojan horse designed to turn every schoolchild in Florida, if not America, gay. 

This ominous warning came at an anti-Common Core event in March courtesy of Florida State Rep. Charles Van Zant (R). Speaking at the “Operation Education Conference” in Orlando, Van Zant warned that officials implementing Common Core in Florida are “promoting as hard as they can any youth that is interested in the LGBT agenda.” 

Their aim, Van Zant warned, was to “attract every one of your children to become as homosexual as they possibly can.” He then apologized to the crowd for having to be the bearer of bad news. “I really hate to bring you that news,” the Florida Republican said, “but you need to know.

You know I am not exactly a cheerleader for Common Core, I have some concerns. 

However you have to be an incredibly under educated buffoon to think that education can alter a person's sexuality.

And speaking of education, exactly what kind of a sentence is "attract every one of your children to become as homosexual as they possibly can?"

It seems to me that this dipshit would benefit from furthering his education. And if that education turns him gay, then all the better. 

Catholic Bishop performs anti-gay exorcism as a way of showing love to the gays. Boy I'm glad he doesn't love me!

Bishop Thomas John Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, took to LifeSiteNews during last week’s March for Life to defend his recent performance of an anti-gay exorcism. The gay rights foe explained that he performed the “minor exorcism” in order to “renounce Satan and break our relationship with the Devil” and “drive out the Devil from his influence that seems to be pervading our culture.” 

He called the exorcism a “fitting” response his home state’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage, adding that it is appropriate for a time when the “church is under persecution or some opposition, and certainly the redefinition of marriage is very much in opposition to God’s plan for married life.” 

Paprocki said that the exorcism was done out of love for gay people, whom he explained need to be disciplined like children being punished by their parents: “Like any good parent will tell you that sometimes you have to disappoint your child, sometimes you have to say ‘no’ and sometimes you even have to punish them.”

So to be clear, this bishop believes that gay people are possessed by the devil, and need to be punished for being naughty.

Oh yeah, that is definitely the way to reach out to the gay community. 

Now see this is why we cannot have a reasonable conversation with these fundamentalist morons.

They see everything in the world the way that a small child sees the world, separated by good and evil.

You actions are either good, ie sanctioned by religion and the Bible, or evil, ie fun to do and things these hypocrites WISH they had the balls to do.

With that kind of mindset there is no way to have a frank conversation about homosexuality, abortion, premarital sex, evolution, or anything that the two sides disagree about. Because if you disagree with them you are under the influence of Satan.

Yeah that's a conversation stopper right there.

Controversial new book claims that smoking and drinking by a pregnant woman increases the chance her child will be gay. I imagine this is from the well known study entitled "Look What I Pulled Out of My Ass."

Women who suffer stress during pregnancy increase the chance of their child being gay, according to a controversial new book. 

The lifestyle of pregnant mothers affects the sexuality of their unborn child, altering their hormones and the formation of their brains, it claims. 

Smoking or taking drugs can also result in a child who grows up to be gay, according to the book by Dutch neuroscientist Dick Swaab, which is yet another chapter in the debate about the origins and causes of homosexuality. 

Professor Swaab believes that a child’s sexuality is determined in the womb and cannot be altered, while others argue that it is affected by upbringing or ‘selected’ as a lifestyle choice. 

In his book, We Are Our Brains, he writes: ‘Although it’s frequently assumed that development after birth also importantly affects our sexual orientation, there’s no proof of this whatsoever. 

‘Children brought up by lesbians aren’t more likely to be homosexual. Nor is there any evidence at all for the misconception that homosexuality is a “lifestyle choice”.’ 

Professor Swaab says that the development of the brain during pregnancy is altered by the tiniest of chemical changes. 

As an example, he claims that a drug prescribed to two million mothers to combat miscarriages during the 1940s and 1950s increased the likelihood of bisexuality and homosexuality in their unborn children. 

‘Pre-birth exposure to nicotine or amphetamines also increases the likelihood of lesbian daughters,’ he writes in the book. 

‘Pregnant woman suffering from stress are also more likely to give birth to homosexual children, because their raised levels of the stress hormone cortisol affect the production of fetal sex hormones.’ 

Professor Swaab also claims that a boy with a number of older brothers is more inclined to be gay, and that nature made teenagers annoying to curb incest, and that difficult births produce children with schizophrenia, autism, and anorexia.

You know, because all of that makes so much sense.

Perhaps somebody should point out to the professor that homosexuality has been a component of human sexuality since the beginning of time, and well before the discovery of tobacco and even alcoholic beverages.

Not only that but homosexuality is wide spread among mammals, birds, and fish. When was the last time you saw a pregnant dolphin getting hammered during happy hour?

Look while I applaud any effort to keep pregnant women from smoking and drinking, because it really IS bad for their babies, this is simply ridiculous and should not be used to frighten expectant mothers into thinking they are responsible for the sexuality of their fetus, simply becasue they had a glass of wine before they decided to pee on stick.

And by the way, for the record, my ex-wife did not drink nor smoke, and had the most carefree pregnancy imaginable. So I feel pretty comfortable calling bullshit on this book. 

San Antonio church leaders complain that new anti-discrimination ordinance discriminates against them by not allowing them to discriminate. Ow, my head hurts!

So to be clear the San Antonio church leaders are angry because they feel that being forced to treat homosexuals and bisexuals equally, infringes upon their ability to be good Christians by mistreating them or attempting to shame them for who they are, and how they love.

Thank the gods we have religion right? I mean without that it would just be so hard to figure out who to hate.

Pastor cures teenage boys of their homosexuality by having gay sex with them. Wait, what?

A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa claims he had sex with teenage boys because it was his duty "to help [them] with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with [them]." 

Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist after authorities found out about his actions. 

In February Girouex confessed to Council Bluffs police detectives that he had sexual relations with four young men starting in 2007 to help them gain "sexual purity" in the eyes of God. However, at least eight men have come forward with complaints that the pastor molested them. 

Girouex told investigators that the longest relationship he had with any of the victims lasted four years. He said that it started when the boy was 14 years old and that the "mutual" contact took place 25 to 50 times. The victim, who is now an adult, told investigators the real number of times was between 50 and 100 times. 

Three of the victims who came forward told authorities the sexual encounters took place at Girouex's house. They all said that they went there to be helped with "sexual purity." 

“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives. 

Achieving "sexual purity" by helping the teens ejaculate their "evil thoughts?" Damn, just when you thought you had heard everything.

I feel badly for these teens who I am certain believed they could trust a "Man of God." Once again the cloak of Christianity is used to lower the guard of the defenseless and allow predators to take advantage of the weak or youthful.
