The Daily Mail has a photo of Sarah Palin with Dakota Meyer in Kentucky, and it's awesome! Update!

Sarah Palin unloading on Dakota Meyer in Kentucky.
Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The eleventh hour cancellation of Bristol Palin's Memorial Day Weekend wedding left mom Sarah with little alternative but to go ahead with the already planned reception - although significantly her daughter chose not to attend.

The bizarre set of circumstances mean't that while the former vice presidential candidate hung out with her daughter's ex-fiance and ex-Marine Dakota Meyer and his family in Kentucky, Bristol made a very public showing of her non-attendance by posting a series of photos of her enjoying a 'weekend getaway' back in Alaska with her best friend who is an exotic model.

....

But the 'celebration of life' appears to have quite heated at one point as this photograph showing Sarah Palin raising her finger in what appears to be a heated exchange with the man who was supposed to have become her son-in-law.

Days earlier Meyer had put out his own statement on Facebook page around the same time as the elder Palin and bearing striking similarities to her message, suggesting a concerted public relations offensive.

But if both sides were supposed to be maintaining a united front someone forgot to tell Bristol.

The Daily Mail then shares with its readers the same pictures of Bristol with Marina that we shared with you on Saturday, and even goes into detail about Marina's exotic moneymaking pastime.

Bristol and Marina, with some folks I don't know identified only as "family."
They also point out that this attempt to re-package the now called off wedding as a "family picnic" failed miserably with only about a hundred people showing up and a rather less than festive environment.

They even mentioned that Palin parked her " massive 'Dynamax Cruising Tour Motorhome' right on the party lawn. Alaska plates and all."

Way to blend in.

All in all it was fairly clear that his was a public relations ploy designed to save face for Palin, and that it failed miserably.

Like I said, I could not have planned this outcome better myself.

Update: Sorry I used the wrong photo.

This is actually the one with Marina in it.

So did Sarah Palin go to that Kentucky picnic?

Okay so the above tweet show up on this Fox News guy, Rick Leventhal's, Twitter feed.

It looks as if there might be a covered picnic area off to the right and a ginormous RV in the background, so it makes you wonder if Palin actually DID go to Kentucky in order to save face and make an appearance at the Meyer family picnic.

But it's not really convincing on its own. But then there's this;

This photo was tweeted four hours before the Palin photo, but that is clearly Dakota Meyer next to Leventhal.

Now it seems odd to me that Palin would travel all of the way to Kentucky to prove there is no hard feelings between her family and the Meyer family, and not have some press coverage and a group photo or three.

So does this mean that sometime today Fox News will broadcast a story covering the Palin-Meyer co-picnic? Or are a few hard to find tweets going to be the extent of it?

No matter how they frame it things certainly do not appear copacetic.

We now have this one picture of Sarah, this video of Trig twerking, and this picture of Track and his new squeeze.

Caption: me, track, and field ☀😍️🍻 #memorialdayweekend #kentucky #trackedout

However there is no sign of Willow, or Piper, and we KNOW that Bristol stayed in Alaska with her exotic modeling friend, and that Tripp is with his dad.

So even if Palin somehow forced Track and Trig to accompany her to Kentucky, and probably Todd because she can't leave him out of her sight for long, that is still a pretty weak showing.

Especially considering the fact that two people most impacted by the revelations of Meyer's secret marriage were Bristol and Tripp. and neither of them is anywhere near this lame attempt to show solidarity.

Personally I can hardly wait to see what Palin and Fox News might have cooked up in order to help her save a little face.

Update: It looks like Perez Hilton has taken notice of Bristol's exotic model friend.

That guy has a metric ton of followers, so that means the story is going to go viral now.

Just another thing that will make this weekend extra special for Palin. LOL!

Sarah Palin commemorates Memorial Day by suggesting that if you don't like guns to get the hell out of the country.

So the above is an image from Palin's Facebook page.

As you can see she did not think that the Bald Eagle, the national bird of the United States, was patriotic enough so she found a picture of one with red, white, and blue foliage.

You know just like they are often found in nature.

Palin then subtly alludes to her daughter's recent broken engagement:

Kicking off Memorial Day weekend, here's to any and all looking for a bridge over troubled waters. Every person on earth encounters those waters.

Yes who hasn't, at one time or another, manipulated their daughter and a controversial war hero into an unsteady relationship, quickly publicized their rushed engagement so that they could bask in the reflected glory, and then had the whole thing blow up in their face after learning that there was a secret marriage?

Troubled waters indeed.

Then Palin decides to go all evangelical:

Billy Graham once said, “The Bible is not an option; it’s a necessity.” This is especially true in times of despair that can lead to anxiety and fear

Yes what an appropriate thing to say about the Bible not being an option on a weekend where we remember the troops who died to make sure that we had the option of which religion and religious text to embrace.

After this Palin quotes a number of lines from scripture which I am sure most of you are familiar with after seeing them on motivational posters, bumper stickers, and on those signs in front of your local church.

Palin then adds a truly tasteless cartoon about the President and tops the post off with this image:

So to be clear, on the weekend where we memorialize the soldiers who gave their lives to "protect our freedoms," Palin tells those who call for stricter gun control to protect our citizens from unnecessary violence or death to move their "happy ass" to another country.

You know somehow I don't think she truly understands the whole idea of "freedom."

Oh and by the way, nothing I saw posted today convinced me that the Palins and the Meyer families got together for some barbecue this weekend, and since it looks pretty clear that Bristol is out camping with her exotic model friend in Alaska...

....let's mark this down as yet another epic fail for the Palin family shall we?

Sarah Palin doubles down on that whole Palin-Meyer family co-picnic. Update!

Courtesy of People Magazine:

As promised, the Palin and Meyer families are gathering for a barbecue at the ex-Marine's Kentucky farm, where the wedding was supposed to be held on Saturday.

Bristol's mother, Sarah Palin, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement, "This Kentucky farm is a beautiful setting for our friends and families to gather in celebration of life itself this Memorial Day weekend. Nothing is more precious to us than family, faith and America's freedom."

"On the year anniversary of our families meeting each other (I'm sorry, so now they are supposed to have know each other for a year?), this weekend is to appreciate both our families' unconventional, unexpected chapters in exciting lives, with pages turning to more opportunities to live life vibrantly," the former Alaska governor continues. "This centers on showing love and respect for our military's sacrifices, and that's what Memorial Day is all about."

Well okay then, taking Palin at her word, I guess we should all be prepared for one of the most awkward picnics in recorded history.

However today is the 23rd, so if the Palin clan are planning to arrive in Kentucky this weekend they better already be on the plane. After all it IS Memorial Day weekend.

And by the way I hope she realizes that there is a significant burden of proof placed on her to convince all of us that this is indeed happening.

Using internet parlance, "pictures or it never happened." And I mean pictures of Bristol and Sarah WITH Dakota and his family, not just photos of a Kentucky airport or some generic picnic pictures with the Palins photoshopped into them.

Hey, maybe People magazine would like to cover the event?

Hell if somebody buys me a ticket, rents me room not too close to a pig slaughtering plant, and pays for my inoculation against deep fat fried southern stupidity, I would be happy to cover it myself.

Update: Okay last night Willow posted a video of Trig twerking (Gee I wonder who taught him that?) next to a guy who looks and sounds a lot like Dakota.

However today Bristol posted a picture of Tripp riding his bike down a bike path surrounded by pine trees.

Any pine trees in Kentucky?

I have a question.

Why is the Governor choking this poor woman? Does she think THAT is Mudflats?

(Photo borrowed from the ADN website, which I linked to so that they can enjoy a little bump in traffic. After all I am a giver.)

COME ONE, COME ALL. TO THE "SCREEN DOOR" CELEBRATION OF SARAH PALIN'S LAST FULL DAY IN OFFICE!

Where? The Delaney Park Strip downtown.

When? Between 12:00 and 3:00

What? Oh you mean why is it called the "Screen Door" celebration? Because we are asking that our dear Sarah NOT let the screen door smack her on the ass on the way out!

The Governor will be having her very last picnic in Anchorage tomorrow so I am sure she will be looking forward to seeing ALL of her soon to be ex-constituents before she flies away on Rupert Murdoch's plane to pursue her career in destroying the GOP one interview and rally at a time.

Let's not disappoint her!

All of your favorite liberal bloggers will be there and as well as many of your fellow Alaskans, so come join the party!

Bring your signs. Bring your kids. Bring your sense of humor. And hell while you are at it why don't you bring your copy of "Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin" for the ex-Governor to sign. That is the least she could do for us isn't it?

See you there!
