Arnold Schwarzenegger will NOT "be back" on The Apprentice. Blames Trump for poor ratings. Update!

Courtesy of Empire Online:

Fans of Celebrity Apprentice are about to lose the show's biggest asset as Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be returning to host another season of the show. "I learned a lot, I had a great time, it was a really great opportunity," Schwarzenegger said, speaking exclusively to Empire. "But under the circumstances I don't want to do it again."

"It's not about the show," he explained. "because everyone I ran into came up to me and said 'I love the show... but I turned it off because as soon as I read Trump's name I'm outta there!'"

"NBC did everything they could to promote the show and [producer] Mark Burnett did a fantastic job. No one really knew that this was going to happen and I think that everyone was caught off guard."

"When people found out that Trump was still involved as executive producer and was still receiving money from the show, then half the people [started] boycotting it."

"Even if asked [to do it again] I would decline." Said Schwarzenegger. "With Trump being involved in the show people have a bad taste and don't want to participate as a spectator or as a sponsor or in any other way support the show. It's a very divisive period now and I think this show got caught up in all that division."

Of course as we know Trump blamed the low ratings on Schwarzenegger.
And then just today Trump went after Schwarzenegger again.
However I would agree with Arnold on this one.

Trump's name is now toxic.

Unless Trump wants to also blame his poor approval ratings, the rejection of Ivanka's clothing line, and small inauguration crowds on Schwarzenegger as well.

Personally I always thought that the contrived conflicts in The Apprentice were an insult to the viewer's intelligence, but apparently there are a number of people in this country with no intelligence to insult.

I would also classify them as "Trump voters."

Update: Arnold responds.
Nicely done.

Donald Trump takes time out from his busy busy day of not accepting the findings from the intelligence agencies to throw shade at the guy who replaced him on "The Apprentice."

Gee I can hardly wait until the Toddler-in-Chief is responding to world leaders by dissing them on Twitter.

It will be like watching a reality show where civilizations might actually be destroyed.

For his part Schwarzenegger had a pretty good response.
So we now live in a world where Conan the Barbarian is actually more diplomatic and sophisticated than the man leading our country.

Oh, aren't we blessed?

Donald Trump's worst fears realized as immigrant takes his job.

Courtesy of Variety:

NBC has tapped Arnold Schwarzenegger to replace Donald Trump as host of “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

Schwarzenegger is a natural choice for the “CEO” role in the reality-competition franchise that challenges celebrities to prove themselves as entrepreneurs as they raise money for charitable causes. In addition to his credentials as an action-movie star, Schwarzenegger is a two-term former governor of California and has long had a range of business holdings, from restaurants to real estate development to sports franchises.

“I have always been a huge fan of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork,” Schwarzenegger said. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let’s get started!”

If you think about it this seems like an obvious choice. After all there are few people as arrogant and dedicated to self promotion as Donald Trump, but Schwarznegger is definitely one of them.

A fact that the Donald himself seems to realize as evidenced from his response to this news:

"Congrats to my friend @Schwarzenegger who is doing next season's Celebrity Apprentice," Trump tweeted. "He'll be great & will raise lots of $ for charity. To all my fans, sorry I couldn't do The Apprentice any longer—but equal time (presidential run) prohibits me from doing so. Love!"

Plus, you know, his being fired kind of prohibits him from doing the show as well.

If NBC doesn't change the catch phrase from "You're fired" to "You're terminated" then they will have missed a golden opportunity here.

In other news a Portland, Oregon artist has painted Trump's portrait. Using her own menstrual blood.

Yesterday Sarah Palin stood in the middle of her glass house throwing stones like a maniac.

Yesterday Sister Sarah decided to double dip into the Roger Ailes goodie bag and made two paid appearances on Fox News as a "political consultant." Once on the Sean Hannity show, and then again, with her on Fox Business.

During the Hannity segment (which you can see in its entirety here, if you so desire) the Grizzled Mama was in a clearly agitated state. She went after President Obama with teeth bared, insinuated that Newt Gingrich only apologised to appease the "Lamestream" media (When in actuality it was the CONSERVATIVES who pressured him to do so), and called David Gregory a racist, and essentially left a circle of scorched earth behind when she finally stumbled off camera.

However it was perhaps this response to the trumped up allegation that Nancy Pelosi's district had been given unfair latitude when it came to instituting the Affordable Health Care plan where Palin got REALLY ugly, and also REALLY hypocritical. (H/T to Media Matters for the video.)

"Tight faced lie?"  Is that a shot at Nancy Pelosi's forays into plastic surgery?

Doesn't that smack of a certain tone deaf hypocrisy, considering Palin's own obvious cosmetic surgery procedures?  And how does that affect a certain ex-DWTS contestant's  self esteem?

Or does Bible Spice Barbie now suddenly embrace the idea of evolution, but only as it applies to the evolving look of Bristol's face?

Yet just when you think that Klondike Kardashian might need some more plastic surgery of her own to remove that foot from her mouth, she appears on Fox Business, where she continues to chew up the furniture and drops a huge steaming pile of "opinion" behind for the Fox News janitors, and apologists, to clean up. (Video courtesy of Politico.)

Let me get this straight.  She "feels badly" for HIS children? What about how HER children felt when they learned about her affair with Todd's old business partner Brad Hanson? Or Todd's sex-capades with a prostitute

And it "is really a pretty disgusting thing that he did in pretty much denying that he had a child for ten years?" Seriously?

But what about Todd's love child

The boy is much older than Arnold's "love child," and the scandal has been kept secret for a much, much longer period of time. (Yes I realize that both of these stories are currently only covered by blogs and the National Enquirer, but fear not they might very well reach a much wider audience in the near future.)

All in all it appears that Sister Sarah was on hypocritical overload yesterday. I have to wonder if she realizes that these soundbites will live forever, and might very well come back to bite her on her wrinkled ass in the not too distant future?

What am I saying?  This is Sarah Palin, she literally has no idea the damage that she does to herself every single time she opens that lipstick saturated maw of hers.  And if she did, would she really be this entertaining to watch self destruct?

The lipstick wearing pitbull bares her teeth at the Terminator. Gee I hope her face does not get stuck that way. Oops too late!

For those who missed it, (and how could you I just posted it yesterday, sheesh!), California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said the following when asked about Sarah Palin and her resistance to agreeing that the dramatic climate change is caused mainly by human beings.

“You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?” said Mr Schwarzenegger. “Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the [Republican] nomination [for president]? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt.”

Essentially Arnold is suggesting that Palin is pandering to a certain demographic (stupid people) to further her political agenda.

By a show of hands does anybody here disagree with that? Yeah I did not think so. I mean seriously you can spot sister Sarah's naked ambitions from space. No thinking person is fooled by her transparent attempts to ingratiate herself to the lunatic fringe. Except, of course, the lunatic fringe.

So now Sarah, never one to let a critical remark go unanswered, has fired up her ghostwriter and posted THIS response on the only venue that fits her adolescent personality, Facebook.

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

- Sarah Palin

So did you read that? What? You say it does not make sense? Well duh, it IS Sarah Palin after all! Okay here let me pare it down to the important points.

  • Ha! You broke you stupid state with all of your "save the planet" moose poop.
  • My state is colder than yours, so I can tell the globe is not warming!
  • I was TOTALLY for fighting climate change, before I was against it. (Different audience)
  • Stop blaming people! God made this place just for us, so of course we can do what we want with it. If we screw it up he will just make us a new one!
  • You are only pretending to care about the environment so all of your Hollywood friends, and the liberal media, and the science-y people will like you the most.
  • Besides your stupid speeches are even harder to understand than mine. So there!

Perhaps Shwarzenegger will take a moment to gently explain to sister Sarah that living in a place with weather does not make her an expert on climate, just like living in a place with oil did not make her an expert on energy.

Demonstrating that not all Republicans are science deniers, Governor Schwarzenegger wants America to take the lead in fight against climate change.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has urged the White House to emulate California in taking a lead in the fight against climate change, saying “it would be good for the whole world . . . if the US becomes the power behind the movement”.

“America within 10 years could get 20 per cent of its power needs from renewables,” he said. “We have sun, wind – you can even now get oil from algae. There is a green revolution [in California] but the whole US could be leading like that.”

Mr Schwarzenegger, who flies to a UN climate change conference in Copenhagen this week, also called on cities, states and other “sub-national” governments, urging them not to wait for a binding deal before taking action to curb emissions.

“International agreements, as critical as they are, will never do enough,” he said he would tell the conference this week.

“The world’s governments alone cannot make the progress that is needed on global climate change . . . they need the cities, the states, the provinces, the regions. California is the eighth largest economy in the world and also America’s trendsetter, so what we do has consequences.

“And we in California do not believe, and we do not behave, as if progress has to wait for Washington or Beijing or Kyoto.”

Angered by the refusal of the Bush administration to take meaningful action against global warming, the Republican Mr Schwarzenegger became one of the leading advocates for the environmental movement after introducing tough emissions and renewable energy targets in California.

I have numerous differences of opinion with Arnold, but at least the Governor understands that politics is not more important than protecting the planet.

Are you listening sister Sarah?

(H/T tip to Amy Ray. Thanks Amy.)

Update: I missed this little gem in the article:

The California governor has become an environmental standard bearer for the Republican party, which is split on the merits of curbing emissions. Sarah Palin, John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has attacked cap and trade and questioned any link between man-made emissions and global warming.

“You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?” said Mr Schwarzenegger. “Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the [Republican] nomination [for president]? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt.”

I think Arnold has sister Sarah's number, what do you thnk?
