Nicolle Wallace identifies working with Sarah Palin as the first time she realized that she could no longer be a Republican.

Courtesy of Crooks and Liars:

CONAN: Was there a moment for you when you thought, "I'm not part of what those people may be, Republicans, or that person may be a Republican, but I'm not going with that?"

WALLACE: I mean, honestly, I think in 2008 to work for John McCain, who is also in pretty bad shape health-wise, to see that Sarah Palin's crowds were bigger and more enthusiastic for the crazy things she was saying, than him, was really the canary in the mine and the signal the party had changed.

CONAN: Telling you something was happening in this country that was angrier.

WALLACE: Yes.

CONAN: And more extreme. Darker.

WALLACE: Yes. so she gave me my first shove, Trumpism gave me my last kick out the door.

We have said it many times before here on IM, but it bears repeating.

Without Sarah Palin there would have been NO Donald Trump.

She helped to create the anti-intellectual, hating on the media, deny all reality, blueprint that Trump followed all the way to the White House.

The thing is we KNEW she was dangerous, that is why I focused on her here at the Immoral Minority.

But while I was working to undermine her chances of destroying the country, Trump came riding down that stupid escalator and started to out Palin Palin.

I mean hell, who thought THIS was literally the best way for anybody to start to campaign for president?

I certainly didn't.

Louis C.K. makes one of the best cases to vote for Hillary Clinton that I have heard in some time.

You know I started listening to this because I am a fan of Louis C.K.

But after awhile I started thinking, "Damn, he makes a pretty strong case."

I love his mother analogy, because there is something innately true about it.

The "If you're a Liberal who's not going to vote you're a POS" line was pretty good as well.

Conan O'Brien breaks a longstanding rule to keep his opinions about guns in this country to himself, and he is not alone.

Now as gratifying as it is to see O'Brien breaking his silence and finally expressing the view shared by so many in this country, there is another who chimed in who came from a very surprising place.

Fox News.

Well she lost her job.

All kidding aside I think we are quite close to a breaking point where the NRA is going to lose their stranglehold on the Republican party and the conservative news outlets, and we will finally see common sense take hold which will hopefully translate into the passing of some very necessary gun laws.

I just cannot imagine how many more have to die before people say enough is enough, and finally force our politicians to do their damn jobs.

After all, they work for us not the fucking gun lobby.

President KILLS it at White House Correspondents Dinner! Everybody loved it! Well NOT quite everybody.

Okay now THAT was hysterical!  You can see Conan O'Brien's bit here, but for my money the President schooled him in how to do comedy.

I think my favorites were the bangs, the Steven Spielberg video, and the "book burning with Michele Bachmann."

In fact the President is getting huge props for his speech all over the internet. With one notable exception.
OMGD! Does she not realize how petty and middle school mean spirited this makes her look?

Especially since two years ago she crashed several after WHCD parties in a vain attempt to get noticed. I guess THIS year she found that she was persona non grata. (After all two years ago only a few people like Aasif Mandvi detected the smell of desperation, Methamphetamine, and Red Bull on her. But today EVERYBODY is gagged by her stank.)

But that was not enough, she also went to Facebook in what looks to be yet ANOTHER non-ghostwritten rant:

Yuk it up media and pols. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.

"Yuk it up?" This is what an adolescent posts on her Facebook page in order to bitch about the girl that just stole her boyfriend away. Even by Wasilla standards this is low class.

By the way she is already being crucified for her remarks.

So I guess she can once again play the victim. Of her own stupidity and pettiness that is!

Conan O'Brien reveals AIG's newest commercial.

By the way since receiving so much backlash for saying that they might join a lawsuit against the very government that saved their asses, AIG has now opted out:

Afraid of looking like a world-class ingrate, AIG on Wednesday decided against suing the federal government over the $182 billion bailout that saved the giant insurance company from collapse.

Gee how kind of them.

Assholes!

Hollywood joins the effort against gun violence.

Courtesy of USA Today:

A group of Hollywood celebrities has a message to share about gun violence.

Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez, Jaime Foxx, Conan O'Brien, Ellen DeGeneres and other entertainers are appearing in a PSA calling on Americans to "demand a plan" to stop gun violence.

"How many more?" the stars ask, before action will be taken.

No more "if we had just done something yesterday," says Aniston in the video, which was released Friday.

Well THAT ought to get some attention.

Of course the NRA supporters will simply say that the fault for the increase in violence is on the heads of these actors who participate in fake violence in movies, instead of putting the blame on the accessibility of weapons which allow unhinged people to perpetrate REAL violence in our elementary school classrooms.

Conan O'Brein sends the intern from "30 Rock" and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to the Chicago's Weiner's Circle. Hilarity ensues.

Okay before you click this let me warn you that this VERY NSFW. (Not Safe For Work.)

The actual curse words are bleeped out, but they come so fast and furious there is little doubt as to what they are saying.

However if you are somebody who likes to laugh, and is not too overly sensitive about language, THIS is probably the funniest thing you will see all day. I promise.

Enjoy.

Conan O'Brien helps Mitt Romney pick campaign slogans.

I think the "I'm out of ideas" slogan was the most honest if you ask me.

P.S. If you liked that, you should check out Conan talking to Bill Maher about gay marriage, Mormonism, and Mitt Romney by clicking here. Very funny stuff!)

Conan O'Brien features Sarah Palin explaining why many Americans find the idea of her as President "a little scary."

Now THAT was funny.

And if any of you needed yet another reason to love Conan, you should know that one of the reasons that there was tension between O'Brien and the network is that he refused to yield to pressure to have Palin on his show.

Yeah!  How much do you love him now?

More on Sarah Palin and "Shreddergate".

San Francisco Chronicle:
Californians who care about our universities - and contribute to these foundations, directly or indirectly - should not have to go sifting through trash bins to find out how their money is being spent. Sen. Leland Yee, a San Francisco Democrat who has authored legislation to force such transparency on CSU and UC foundations, called it "our little Watergate."

The students who discovered the contract are speaking out and denying it was stolen as claimed by California State University, Stanislaus president Hamid Shirvani.

And the war of words between Sen. Leland Yee and California State University, Stanislaus President continues to heat up.

Gee wouldn't there have been far less drama if the University had just asked Conan O'Brien to speak at their fundraiser?  After all he could probably have raised just as much money, been far more entertaining, and not acted like a secretive spoiled little brat. Plus he could probably really use the work.

Demonstrating a level of maturity well out of Sarah Palin's reach, Levi accepts Conan's apology.

"The Insider" was with Levi Johnston Thursday night as he watched "The Tonight Show" and heard host Conan O'Brien's personal apology for "misrepresenting him in any way" during a skit the night before. Read on for more...

Levi exclusively tells "The Insider": "I'm glad I gave him something to talk about on his show. Obviously it's good that I'm on there."

There now. Was that so hard?

Of course not. And now Levi has salvaged his reputation without damaging a potentially advantageous relationship with a well known talk show host. See how this is done Sarah? Perhaps YOU should take notes.

Does anybody doubt that Conan will have Levi on his show in the not too distant future? Of course he will.

Like I pointed out in my previous post, It was not the fact that O'Brien and Shatner were poking fun at Levi that was the problem, it was that it was not REALLY Levi they were quoting.

Once they found some real quotes from Levi to use in their segment, Levi laughed right along with them.

(H/T to commenter Levi's STOLEN ID.)

Bill Maher on last night's Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

I found this on Huffington Post (thanks Arianna) and decided to post it because:
1) it is funny,
2) It is topical, and
3) I am suffering withdrawals since HBO stopped letting me embed the New Rules segments.

Part two (Warning for those who are overly sensitive about Obama. There are some valid criticisms in this clip.)

Colbert and Conan in battle over Huckabee. WTF?

Okay it is Saturday and there is not much going on in the news.

So I had to make a choice. I could post this video from YouTube, or I could discuss the Republican primary in Nevada.

I am sure you support my decision.

And as a bonus it is kind of funny, not that the Republican's acting like they have a shot in 2008 is not funny. Because it is.
