Here is Sarah Palin's appearance on Newsmax TV yesterday. And oh yeah, it's bad.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin praised all the participants in the third Republican presidential debate Wednesday in Colorado but singled out Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Newsmax TV because "he schooled the media." 

"That's what the American people are craving — for our leaders who are already in these positions of authority to tell the media to start getting focused on the things that concern us," the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate told host Steve Malzberg on the "Newsmax TV Post-Debate Special." 

There needs to be a focus on "the things that really make a difference in a presidential campaign because the state of the media … has been so poor and so unfair," Palin continued. "We have seen such a downfall of what the media has become [so] when Ted Cruz spanked them — they deserved to be spanked — he put them in order. 

"It seemed like they kind of behaved a little bit better after that," Palin said. 

Palin called Cruz, Donald Trump and Ben Carson the debate's winners, adding that some candidates should drop out of the race. 

However, she declined to be more specific, saying only that some should quit because "they are wasting ammunition on one another." 

I have to admit that I did not watch all of this YouTube video. And I really do not think it is necessary for anybody else to do so either. 

You can literally start it anywhere, the beginning, the middle, or near the end and quickly realize that it is the same old shit, muttered by the same old lunatic, in a slightly different format.

There are a couple of interesting points such as when she begs of criticizing Marco Rubio missing Senate votes in light of the fact that she resigned partway through her first term.

The entire piece is incredibly unprofessional and of course Palin is participating from that studio Fox built for her in Wasilla, so there is a long delay.

For all intents and purposes this feels like the cable news equivalent of Sarah Palin showing up for the opening of a pet store, or hawking crappy jewelry on late night TV. Essentially this is the bottom of the barrel that we all predicted she would be scraping many years ago.

She is much too unlikable to feel sorry for, but there is a sense dissatisfaction that her career is ending in such a pedestrian manner instead of with the huge scandal I think all of us had hoped for. 

There are still some things that I hope to bring to light, but I am not sure that too many people actually care enough to even listen.

Don't let this be you.

The conservatives expect us to stay home, the pundits expect us to fail our representatives, and Koch brothers have spent a fortune to convince us that we are wasting our time and the election is already lost to us.

I want to prove all of them wrong.

Republican strategist says that Joni Ernst is Sarah Palin with more intelligence.

Republican political strategist Dick Morris shrugged off the news that former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin might run for office again, telling Newsmax TV on Wednesday that there's a new and improved Palin on the campaign trail these days — and her name is Joni Ernst. 

"Ernst is Sarah Palin, but with much more in the way of gray cells," Morris told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner, calling Iowa's Republican candidate for the Senate "one of the superstars of American politics." 

Wow, a smart Sarah Palin. That's the kind of thing that gives children nightmares here in Alaska. 

Dick Morris at one time was all in for Sarah Palin, but then he seemed to get over her. (Perhaps he saw her without her makeup or something.)

More recently Morris has become the political analyst who cannot get anything right.

Though I have to say that on this one he is undoubtedly correct.

I think that Joni Ernst IS just as much of a wing nut as Sarah Palin.

And as for the intelligence thing, well damn who isn't smarter than Klondike Kardashian?

With this crazy talk of impeachment I think we all need this reality check.

Boykin is referencing this Op-ed he posted on July 2nd refuting the findings of the Quinnipiac poll which states among other things:  

Under President Obama, the unemployment rate has fallen from 10 percent in 2009 to 6.3 percent today. Under George W. Bush, on the other hand, the unemployment rate rose from 4.2 percent to 7.8 percent. 

Under President Obama, the U.S. economy is gaining 200,000 jobs a month. When Bush left office, however, we were losing 700,000 jobs a month. 

Under President Obama, at least 24 million people have gotten health insurance. The rate of uninsured has declined from 18 percent to 13.4 percent and the rate for Blacks has dropped dramatically from 20.9 percent to 14.7 percent. And despite all the exaggerated GOP claims that Obamacare would be a "job killer," we've actually added more than 9 million new private sector jobs since the president signed the law. 

Under President Obama, businesses are also booming again. In the first few weeks of his presidency, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was sitting at 6547. Today it's close to 17,000, a 10,000 point increase in five years! And corporate profits hit an all-time record high just last year. 

Don't forget Obama inherited from Bush a deeply divided country, engaged in two wars, in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, with banks collapsing, housing prices plummeting and the domestic auto industry on the verge of extinction. 

President Obama ended the war in Iraq, drew down troops in Afghanistan, captured Osama Bin Laden, averted a second depression, helped to rescue the financial sector, stabilized home prices and saved more than a million jobs in the auto industry. 

At the same time, he enacted the most sweeping health care reform legislation in 50 years, something Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton couldn't do, and which Ronald Reagan and the two Bushes never wanted to do. 

Compared to Bill Clinton, Obama also stacks up well.

Boykin then goes on to explain why that last statement is true. 

And Boykin is not the only pundit to take great umbrage at the findings by Quinnipiac. Talk Show host Joe Madison held nothing back: 

Quinnipiac you bastards. 

Obama the worst President? Hardly!!!.

Obama has 50 plus months of private sector job growth; you bastards. 

The damned stock market is within 1000 points of tripling under Obama since the March 8, 2009 low; that means $3000 is now worth $9000; $30,000 is now worth $90,000; $90,000 is worth $270,000; $270,000 is now worth $810,000; $30 billion is now worth $90 billion; you bastards. 

Corporate profits are at record highs under Obama; you bastards. 

Obama has 50 plus months without a double dip recession; you bastards. 

Obama has given us 9 million new jobs; you bastards. 

You know I could read that all day long.

You know this President is by no means perfect. But by any rational measure he is doing an incredible job while withstanding some of the worst partisan attacks in American history.

What he inherited from the Bush administration would have traumatized a weaker man but President Obama rolled up his sleeves and started digging through the rubble on his first day in office.

And what he has accomplished since is nothign shy of miraculous.

Personally I don't think the Right Wing hates him becasue they see him as a failure, instead they fear him because they realize how well he has succeeded.

You know it seems like just yesterday that we were all trying to figure out exactly what Palin was building on her property only about three months after her resignation.

When we found out that it was a studio I think I may have been one of the first to predict that it was a waste of News Corp's money and that someday Ailes would have to send trucks out to pack it all up and sell the components off to the highest bidder.

And recently it seemed that was about to happen. However Palin's survival instinct proved bigger than her ego, and realizing that she could not survive on SarahPAC dollars alone, she clearly ate some large helpings of crow in order to keep her job at a fraction of her previous salary. I think it is also safe to assume that Ailes demanded that she function as more of a team player whihc explains her pimping of other Fox personalities on her "all about me" Facebook page.

So here she is today kissing Roger Ailes's ass, rubbing her opulent lifestyle in the faces of those who sent her their children's college money in the belief that she would actually run for office.  I wonder how many of those SarahPAC donors have their own airplane hangar on their prototype? I am willing to bet there are very few if any.

So I guess she really DOES owe Roger Ailes a huge debt of gratitude.

After all if he had not given her a job she would have had to actually serve out her term as Governor.

And without the airtime he provided her she could NEVER have continued to seem relevant, and become a political force outside of Alaska.

And he all but created the Tea Party and installed her as its temporary queen.

Yep, she certainly owes Roger Ailes quite a lot. And now that he has allowed her to crawl back with her tail between her legs for the monetary scraps he is now willing to throw her way, he essentially owns her.

So these days when we hear Sarah Palin tossing word salad on the air, we know it's Roger Ailes's salad that is being tossed.

Oh and by the way I happened to see that Judge Jeanine show the other day with my daughter, and trust me you can ABSOLUTELY argue with Ann Coulter, and any sane person should do just that. (My daughter literally turned to me once during the segment and wanted to know of Coulter was for real, or just a put on. Good question.)

So to be clear the ghostwriter Palin hired to make her daughter sound like a political pundit (And not a babbling moron as every interview with her already proved she was), and the one that Palin hired for herself (For the same reason), are now saying that the policies secretly put into place by the last Republican President are un-American?

I find that interesting, in that there was NOT a word from Palin about the fact that George W. Bush started this secret domestic spying program by the NSA in 2002. I guess it is just harder to accept when it happens during the administration of a African American Democrat.

As for this attempt to advertise Bristol as a sort of poor man's Meghan McCain, THAT is going to fall apart the minute that anybody actually interviews her on television concerning the opinions that her ghostwriter has attributed to her on the blog.

(Now where have we seen somebody completely fall apart when interviewed on television about their opinions before?)

My assumption is that this new Bristol personification will end in ridicule and ruin, just like the abstinence spokesperson and the reality star gigs that came before it.

And as long as Palin keeps pushing her family out there to be ridiculed, we will continue pointing and laughing.

The Pakistani Taliban denied any involvement in a double bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed at least three people, spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said Wednesday. 

"Wherever we find Americans we will kill them, but we don't have any connection with the Boston Explosions," Ihsan said. 

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the Times Square bombing in 2010.

Thus far it seems that nobody has taken responsibility for the attacks, which is unusual for Islamic terrorist groups.

Also the injured Saudi that was originally identified as a "suspect" by certain irresponsible media outlets, and gave rise to the idea that this attack was the work of Muslim extremists, has turned out to be nothing of the sort.

U.S. law enforcement officials said Tuesday that a Saudi national injured in the Boston Marathon bombing is regarded as a witness, not a suspect. 

The Saudi, who is recuperating at a Boston hospital, is in his 20s and is in the United States on a Saudi scholarship to study at a university in the Boston area. 

The federal officials’ explanation echoed comments by a Saudi official at the country’s embassy in Washington. The embassy official said that a Saudi national has been questioned as a witness but is not regarded as a suspect. The Saudi official cited information provided to the embassy by U.S. law enforcement officials.

I am not going to say that any of this indicates that there is no possibility that the attacks were not the work of Islamic terrorists, but but as time goes on it seems less and less likely.

I have noticed a rather interesting dichotomy  between the Left and Right media right now.

On the Left many pundits have seemed to focus more on the possibility that this was the work of domestic terrorists, possibly White Supremacists or anti-tax sovereign citizen groups.

However on the Right they seem to be working overtime to suggest that this HAD to have been the work of some Islamic group hell bent on the destruction of America. And some have even gone so far as to blame President Obama as well.

Like I said, I really do not have enough information to form a strong opinion, however I think that when we DO find the perpetrators one side is going to go on the attack, and the other is going to become very defensive.

And I find that very interesting. And not a little troubling.

Update: This is happening now:

A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was taken into custody Wednesday in a breakthrough that came less than 48 hours after the deadly attack, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation said Wednesday. 

The official spoke shortly after several media outlets reported that a suspect had been identified from surveillance video taken at a Lord & Taylor store between the sites of the two bomb blasts, which killed three people and wounded more than 170. 

The official was not authorized to divulge details of the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The suspect was expected at a Boston courthouse, the official said.

A news briefing was scheduled later Wednesday.

So we should know sometime today.

Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate. Since these stories often have unintended consequences, we ask the media, particularly at this early stage of the investigation, to exercise caution and attempt to verify information through appropriate official channels before reporting.

I don't think they are very happy.

Female pundit receives death threats for appearing on Sean Hannity show and daring to suggest that educating men would stop more rapes than arming women.

Zerlina Maxwell, a liberal pundit and political analyst, appeared on Fox News‘ “Hannity” last week to advocate for men to not rape women. In return, Maxwell has become the target of a social media campaign threatening to gang rape and kill her.

Here is a portion of the offending comments according to Glenn Beck's  "news" site The Blaze:

“I don’t think that we should be telling women anything,” Maxwell said. “I think we should be telling men not to rape women and start the conversation there.” 

“Criminals are not going to listen to that,” Hannity interjected. 

“You are talking about it as if there is some faceless, nameless criminal, when a lot of times it is someone that you know and trust,” Maxwell replied. 

Hannity pointed out that “evil exists in the world” and women need to know that these situations unfortunately occur. 

“We can prevent rape by telling men not to commit it,” Maxwell said, repeating the same bizarre claim. 

Instead, Maxwell, who is a rape survivor herself, said she wants women to “not be in this situation.” She added that if you “train” men not to be rapists, we can prevent rape. 

“If firearms were the answer, then the military would be the safest place for women and it’s not,” she said.

Hannity of course is completely ridiculous here, seeming to have NO idea of how rapes actually happen in this country and imagining roving bands of rapists that can be gunned down en masse, instead of the acquaintance, angry lover, or family member who is most likely to be the perpetrator.

In response to what seems to be a logical and reasonable assertion, Maxwell found herself the victim of  social media campaign which featured tweets like this:

Maxwell's point is obviously more than valid, however apparently these Right Wing fanatics who watch Hannity's show refuse to accept that educating young men to respect women would have a much more serious, and long lasting affect on the number of rapes in this country than arming women could ever hope to achieve.

I guess in the eyes of these sorry excuses for men, if a woman cannot shoot them full of holes if they tried to rape her, then she deserves what she gets.

South Carolina has spoken, and they want Stephen Colbert to replace the outgoing Jim DeMint. Now THAT'S a change we can believe in!

Nikki Haley is one of the most unpopular Governors in the country. Only 42% of voters approve of the job she's doing to 49% who disapprove. Out of 43 sitting Governors PPP has polled on, that ranks her 35th in popularity. 

Haley has pretty solid numbers within her own party. 70% of Republicans approve of the job she's doing to 22% who disapprove. But with Democrats (15/78 approval) and independents (28/57) her numbers are pretty woeful. 

There is a path back to popularity for Haley though: appointing Stephen Colbert to replace Jim DeMint in the Senate. Colbert tops the wish list of who South Carolina voters would like to see join that body at 20%, followed by Tim Scott at 15%, Trey Gowdy at 14%, Jenny Sanford at 11%, Henry McMaster and Mark Sanford at 8%, Jeff Duncan and Joe Wilson at 5%, and Mick Mulvaney at 4%. 

It's Democrats and independents- those voters Haley most needs to improve her standing with- who are pining for a Colbert appointment. Among Democrats 32% say they'd like Colbert to be picked with Jenny Sanford at 19% and no one else in double digits. With crucial independent voters Colbert has a 15 point lead for the appointment, getting 28% to 13% for Tim Scott, 12% for Jenny Sanford, and 10% for Trey Gowdy with no one else in double digits.

I think that South Carolina would be well served with a Senator Colbert advocating for them, but personally I don't think that any state that would elect Jim DeMint twice to the Senate and Nikki Haley as their governor deserves our Stephen.

He is FAR too valuable to us as a faux conservative comedic pundit to waste him on South Carolina. 

In other words, South Carolina's loss is America's gain.

My local morning paper the ADN has referred to me as a "pundit" but according to the Daily Show I have been doing it all wrong. Well that figures.
