I hate to be all petty and partisan, but am I the only one who thinks Senator Jim Bunning is a giant dick?

And does anybody really believe he is a "stand alone dick"? Because I am pretty sure he emerged from some smoke filled Senate backroom where Republicans get together to decide how to slow down the Democratic agenda at every turn after being told that since he was on his way out of the Senate he needed to "take one for the team" and act like a complete asshole while his GOP comrades acted all innocent and confused.

"What? Senator Bunning is blocking this vote? Why, whatever would possess him to do such a thing? I swear I cannot imagine."

  1. from what I hear, even several Rethugs are intimidated by Bunning, having called him "odd, weird, mean" ...

yes, the Dems are scared of the Rethugs -- one need only look to their quick reactionary move to strip ACORN of all funding without even the most cursory of investigation on their own, based solely on the word of a Racist RightWing Whackjob Andrew Breitbart.

It is troubling, to say the least.

Yep, he's a pawn in the Republican's chess game. It's his last term, isn't it, so he has nothing to lose. He even flipped the bird to reporters -- If a Democrat were to do that...

Dems think it makes Republican's look bad, but a lot of people think it's the Democrat's fault that they can't get anything accomplished. No one wins.

This week should also be interesting with the health bill...

Rather than having a headline that points fault to the Democrats, why not just a headline that outlined what obstructionist republicans have been doing since Obama was elected? Why the negative toward the Dems? They have been working their tails off and quite frankly have accomplished more than many previous administrations.

Gryphen: No, you are not the only one who thinks Bunning is a giant dick; I too KNOW he is a giant dick and someone in KY needs to erect a billboard portraying a giant dick with Bunning's head on the head! Maybe then the rest of KY and anyone passing through the state who sees the billboard will see that, in fact, Jim Bunning truly is a GIANT DICK! God, the URGE to ring his neck is so great that I would have to be physically restrained if I ran across him because generally I am a nice person who doesn't believe in physical punishment. However, with him, it's easy to make an exception.

Political Carnival has this clip of Bunning as a Pro Pitcher deliberately beanning a series of batters. And some stats on how many bean balls he threw.

In a word he is a vicious person who enjoys hurting other people.

Why Sen. Bundog is just a regalur human bein' doncha know! he's not perfect. he said so himself...well, except for the time he pitched a perfect no hitter...for that couple of hours he has deemed himself perfect.

He's actually beyond a dick because some dicks are OK by me! LOL! He's excrement, walking, standing, speaking. It's why he doesn't care and remarks "tough shit" when challenged on his nonsense...he thinks he's a tough shit, when he's just really shit, smelly, nasty, diseased and the end result of everything the body doesn't need. He is human refuse.

It's time Dems stood up and called him on this crap in a manner he'd understand. While I'm all for decorum in the Senate, I'm sick of the spineless verbal bantering coming from Dems. Frankly, the next time Bundog gets on the Senate floor, like he did this AM, to pitch more crap someone needs to grab that famous arm and shove it right down his throat...metaphorically speaking mind you. Maybe that would keep him from repeating his verbal sewage.

I'll admit it... I've seen my share of dicks.
But this dick is in a dic-dom high on a shelf where few dicks have gone.

Yes, he is a mean old fart. He is retiring from the Senate, so he doesn't care who he hurts or ticks off. Unfortunately, my other Senator is Mitch McConnell. I'm from KY but can honestly say they both are an embarrassment.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Jim Bunning has again blocked the Senate from extending unemployment benefits and health insurance subsidies for the jobless.

    He did it again.

With out this there will be more Foreclosures and unpaid credit card.

This will hurt more then just the unemployed.

It could mean there will be more unemployed.

    It could even be you.

  14. I think its long past time for some changes in Senate rules. A handful of Senators should not be able to hold up bills, appointments, votes, and other important actions.

You are SO right! Bunning is the republicans' shiny object. And MSM is taking the bait.

I hate the obstruction (for the mere fun of it) but I hate being assumed an idiot even more. I am writing to my senator NOW.

Seems time for a whole lotta folks to show up at his doorstep and personally show their reactions to his sand bagging.
How about also suspending congressional pay until the budget is balanced?
Bunning is a festering herpes lesion on the Repugs' anal sphincter.

  17. You can bet George Voinovich (R-OH)is backing him -- he's another old fart who is retiring from the Senate who's doing little or nothing. They are both the poster children for term limits. Congress hasn't always been -- nor was meant to be -- a career opportunity nor should it be. Outlaw lobbyists and it would be like rats off a sinking ship.

Anon from AL I feel your pain. It's a toss up who has the worst. I've got McCain and Kyl. Dear Kyl said just yesterday that unemployment makes ppl lazy and they don't want to work. And well, McCain gave us $carah. Enough said.

At this point, he in my humble O is worse than Dick Cheney. DC, albeit a dick extraordinaire in his own right. D.C.'s made every decision a calculating one, based on the amount of personal wealth he can amass, as a result of it.

Bunning on the other hand, seems to be taking delight in his newfound "sport" of denying Americans their unemployment and Cobra benefits. He seems positively giddy that federal jobs have stopped, that tens of thousands have already lost their jobs because of HIS hold.

Do I think he is working alone? HA! I wasn't born yesterday Gryphen. Have you heard a peep out of ANY Republican leaders? Boehner, McConnell, and Cantor appear to be uncharacteristically
unavailable. Surprised? Don't be. This is a carefully calculated move by the Republicans who want this to play out for all it's worth to their absolute delight. You see, the GOP enjoys the "sport" of politics, far more than they care to govern.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans are struggling even more in these difficult times, due to the GOP's political "gamesmenship".

I don't know how these bozos live with themselves.

Such a tool! And he is a total dick.

I love that Jon Stewart is the only one who skewers the crazies in the house and senate...was the MSM busy that day?

It is so obvious that this is all a set up by the republicans. He is leaving so what the heck take one for the party. If the MSN keeps this in the spot light it will make the repugs look bad even as they try to act all innocent.I think a lot of people see thru what is going on.At least I hope so.I hoe Jon Stewart keeps it up.

You're giving him too much credit, he's a little dick who's been put up to this by the GOP. Real people are suffering, losing their benefits and cobra, and this idiot is punishing them for an economy the GOP created?
