Mercede has a brand new post up today and all I have to say is WOW!

Sadie attempts to explain EXACTLY what happened back during the campaign with her computer and what she now suspects may have taken place.

There are definitely things in her post that even I did not know, and I found it quite fascinating.

Great job Sadie!

Palin made a federal case out of someone trying to hack into her private email account (where she was unethically conducting state business).

So why isn't she helping to solve the mystery of who wiped her former son-in-law=to-be's computer completely clean.

And who are the mystery lady handlers who tried to keep Mercede a prisoner in her own home?

Campaign people? Remember, Palin brought in a thug from New York City- Ed O'Callaghan- to take over state government (along with Meg Stapleton)while she was gallivanting around with Todd, Bristol, and Levi.

Not surprising that they would have hired junior thugs to muzzle members of the family.

  2. I don't know the other "ladies" name, but one of them was a woman by the name of Anna Arodzero.

At least THAT is the name she gave reporters who asked her for it when she answered the Johnston's door.

Mercede is an excellent writer. Her grammar, punctuation, etc. is exemplary. Her description and writings are wonderful to read. And the tone is mature and pleasant. I'm impressed. I wish I could fast forward a year or two, to see where everyone's life will be. I'm hoping for a very happy and bright future for the Johnston family.

  4. Gryphen, since you are a friend, please try and help Mercede get her computer back from the police.

The hard disk can be sent to a data recovery and forensic company that can analyze the disk to see what happened and possibly recover the data. It's not exactly cheap but I'm sure there are many here who would be willing to help out with the cost.

  5. To state the obvious someone has something to hide. It is NOT Mercede, Levi, or her Mom. I can understand some pictures being taken down, as Bristol was on Myspace drinking, but all of them? Knowing what I have learned just dealing with my computer, and helping friends out, I know if you delete something it is always hidden on your hard drive. Someone with government knowledge wiped that computer then actually took it just in case anything was missed. Why is the big question? What does Sarah have to hide? The more I learn the more I do not want that lady anywhere "near" power.

Idiots. If the Palins wanted this computer gone, they would have staged a break-in and stolen it.

I don't understand how Mercede's computer was hacked. Did someone gain access to the Johnston house or can a computer be hacked from the outside?

I do remember that Audrey found the Triggy Bear pictures through other Alaska kids that had MySpace accounts. Mercede and her friends passed everything around, sometimes sharing too much party information. So, even if the Johnston computer was wiped clean, other kids still had those pictures.

Now the question for any computer expert is what else can be found in those shared posts? How long is the information stored? Isn't there one Alaska citizen who cares enough to come forward with some of that cached information? We would all like to see more pictures of the baby with the ruffled ear, pictures of Sarah and Bristol anytime in 2008 before April 18.

Once McCain and friends realized what a wacknut, fake, loser they picked they must have tried to wipe her past away. Though they tried to create a new persona for her, the lying, dumb hickbilly Palin truely is couldn't be hidden.

    Thanks again, McShame.

Why would a left wing/radical/anarchist/Palin hater want to get rid of any evidence on Mercede's computer that might incriminate Sarah? Wouldn't you think they would want this evidence published, not erased? You make no sense whatsoever.

Why would they have to steal the whole computer, right wing/radical/anarchist/Palin lover? Who's the idiot now?

All anyone would have to do is take a screwdriver to the chassis of the computer and substitute a clean empty drive with only Windows OS on it for the one that had the incriminating photos and personal diary, etc. on it.

Really. I don't know why anybody hasn't figured that out yet.

lol at the idiot troll. A break-in and theft would require a police report. A mysteriously clean computer would generate head-scratching and a trip to the tech for more head-scratching until it was too late to connect the dots. Sure, the Palin idiots might be dumb enough to try a break-in, but public smears are much more their style. This has McCain all over it. The campaign got VERY aggressive in Alaska, so I have no problem blaming this on them. Once they realized what a mess Palin was, it was all about clean up and cover up in the early days of the Palin VP pick.

I know a local policeman (NY) that just took some training courses at Quantico in Computer Forensics; he says pictures or any data can never be wiped completely clean. He used his computer as an example: he had some family vacation photos that he thought were accidentally erased a long time ago, and lost forever; but the teacher at Quantico ran a simple program and recovered all of them, even though they had been 'lost' for well over 10 years.

There is always some remnant of any file or picture you look at left on your hard drive, always.

Only way to completely eradicate them is to do as KaJo said at 10:33 AM, swap hard drives and put a new one in, which I am sure is what happened here.

Mercede, I am sorry, but your original hard drive is long gone, and the UFO that crashed at Roswell will probably turn up before your hard drive does.

It really doesn't matter HOW they did it. It just adds to the big karma bullseye on McCain's forehead. McCain signed off on whatever would help him pursue his elusive dream of the presidency. His bitter ambition stuck him and the rest of us with Sarah. He paid by losing the race and his credibility. We continue to pay by having to endure that bitch and her flapping jaws.

It sounds like the vandals destroyed Mercede's property, they didn't just steal it. If it was stolen there is something to get back. Has anyone contacted the Electronic Frontier Foundation? One can always report or file complaints to the authorities. That should be done in case more happens and to have a record. I know of a 'computer problem' that was taken to be 'fixed' because of questionable things the repair shop contacted the FBI. In this case, who can say if it would have been a good idea for the FBI to have it. I guess when you took the computer in the first and second times that you were thinking that the Republican 'helpers' were not suspect. Too bad you did not just file a local complaint with authorities when you suspected it to be someone else or another problem.

I doubt any property can be retrieved but like any crime [theft, vandalism] a report must be made. As it is now, it is just blog conspiracy stuff. I believe Mercede but this needs to go full throttle to look legit. I don't understand how Mrs. Johnston allowed people in her house without ID and knowing who they were? It must have been overwhelming and you want to trust someone when the world is beating down your door. I had a SWAT team come to my house (looking for someone I didn't know but who knew a previous roommate). No one expects that before coffee and I didn't know what to do but I could see them breaking through doors so I cooperated and showed them every inch of the whole property. They were watching me and I was trying to watch them the whole time. I can't comprehend leaving any type of official or authority type, nice or not, alone in my house. I would also file a report if anything was stolen or destroyed.

I take it the local authorities are the ones that now possess the Johnston's computer or computers. Didn't you say before that there were two? Authorities were working on a drug case at that time. It is possible they were looking to protect a Palin from being linked to illegal drug activity and making incriminating or suspicious comments. When it comes to Wasilla drugs are the elephant in the room and notice how it never gets mentioned? The thousands of other pictures of wild Wasilla drunk teen fun was not destroyed, those pictures do not line up with the Sarah Palin myth of her wonderful paradise and all she did for it and the children she loves so much while she was in office.

I've done exactly what KaJo and anon at 11:27Am have done. It was for my daughter's computer that had been infected with so much garbage. The other hardware was brand new, but she stupidly let a "friend" (ex-friend now) surf the web and you can guess wtf he did. Since it was a new computer, it didn't have a lot of personal stuff on it, so I swapped the hard drive for a clean one and physically destroyed the old one. Problem solved.
One way to check would be if the sticker on the computer matches the number of the Windows software on the physical machine. If it does not, that's one way to tell. My guess is this was a bunch of pro's but you never know. Until she gets the machine back from the cops (good luck) no one will ever know.

Sarah's blackberry was hacked as a prank by a college student who did not have a political agenda. He stood trial and is facing prison time.

It seems to me that the Johnstons have the same sort of case, only this time it wasn't just a prank. It is pretty clear that it came from the McCain/Palin bunch, in light of the orders from Bristol and Sarah to clean out the pictures. Since we have the name of one of the two ladies who pretended to be friends of the Johnstons, why not start with a lawsuit against her, since she had access to the computer. She will also have to give up the name of her "friend." A crime has been committed against the Johnstons, and it is very much like the "crime" that was committed against Sarah. What is sauce for the goose ought to be sauce for the gander.

    Mercede 7-Jun-10
    By the end of September...
I took it to the local repair shop and he was able to fix it. The first time."
One morning I woke up to log on to my computer...
There were absolutely no files, all my desktop icons were gone, and there was not ONE photo on my hard drive besides the “Sample photos” which came with the computer.
We called the local repair shop and I had my computer in his hands within hours.
He had my computer for about a week and called me to ask if he could keep it longer because he was very “fascinated” by how there was nothing left on it, and that it appeared to have been completely wiped clean.
He had worked on my computer previously so he KNEW there were once thousands of pictures, school work, documents, etc. He also asked if I wouldn’t mind if a few computer friends/techs come in from Fairbanks and Washington.
By the time early December rolled around he told me he had over 12 techs look at my computer and that they spent days and days working on it, and searching for what had gone wrong, and could not figure it out.
    He said “Nothing made sense”.

Aside from the original computer repair shop she said friends/techs come in from Fairbanks and Washington, 12 techs.
Yet no one noticed if the hard drive was new or removed and replaced?

If the Johnstons didn't realize it could be a stolen hard drive and they are only seeing that possibility for the first time, why not file a stolen property report now? They certainly have every reason to request that their property is returned from the police who have it now. If they are told it is missing, that must be investigated.

The professionals and techs that saw it before should definitely weigh in on if there are anymore changes. They could talk to the people at EFF and get advice as to how to handle this. There are some serious implications. The FBI should be involved but then again should they?

Mercede's story is indeed quite compelling and her voice is believable . . .

As and aside, from Floyd Orr's PalinBabygate site, the March '08 photo . . . I'm wondering if sarah and the pip-squeak were visiting with Trig's real birth mother, as it appears to be in a hospital setting. That would also have allowed sister sarah a few weeks to feign pregnancy, before "presenting" the child Trig, who was clearly not "just born" in the April 18th images of sarah and the first dude . . .

Might also explain why she keeps lil' Piper on a tight leash, for she too knows the truth about Trig. It's hard to get a child to lie, especially when they are told to do so . . .

To others: How is this legal? Why are people in the press not making a huge-ass deal about the fact that someone -- probably the McCain camp -- hacked a girl's computer? How is this not exactly what happened in Watergate? People, write to the Arizona Republic, and ask why they're not demanding more info on this. When you have stolen property, like a hard drive, you don't need to know who did the stealing to report the crime. It is the investigators job to find out who was known to have access, be in the house or have a motive to want a hard drive. A person can be stopped for a minor traffic violation but in time the crimes could turn into more, like illegal weapon trafficking. Sometimes you just need to get the ball rolling to find out what it is all about.

During the campaign the two women that were allowed in the house pretended to be helping. They were trusted. If they did do something (or allowed something to be done as trusted guests whose stated purpose was to help the Johnstons) that is going into fraud and other crimes. It is far more than invasion of privacy. For now this is just a sad story of some people who were fleeced and who happen to be connected to a famous person.

I don't know where the computers were in the house or if the two trusted Republican women were left alone in the house. A third party could have been allowed in to take care of the computers.

When the police took Mercede's computer in December, someone may have wanted to switch the hard drives again or the part with numbers. Without an investigation this is only about assumptions and nothing conclusive. The Palins will love if the bots can say she or the campaign are 'falsely implicated or accused.' It proves her point and send her money.

Did both Sherry and Mercede Johnston use Mercede's computer? I am not sure why the police took Mercede's computer for the drug bust? Didn't Sherry have a computer? Do the police still have Sherry's cell phone? Did they also take Mercede's and what about Levi? Sherry also trusted the two young "friends" that turned her into the police. Why would they not be suspects? In my hood their names would be well known by now. It is a red flag that they are so well protected and not only by the authorities.

I can't imagine if my friends did that to my mother. I'd want to release my emotions, get that out and name names.

  34. Loren3:47 PM

Curiouser----- It is a crime whether the hard drive was removed or not. Mercede needs her computer back to stop guessing about the hard drive and try and get to the facts. The Johnston family needs help on the best way to go about reporting the crimes and getting further investigations. I am afraid, as it is now, this could even be used against Levi in his custody case. She clearly had a computer problem and there are technicians and others that can say what they saw or know. There is a paper trail with the receipts.

  35. Didn't Steve Schmidt say he has the hard drive? Or did I dream that? I swear I remember reading way way way back (maybe even on Audrey's site) that Steve will never let Sarah win the 2012 nomination because he now works for Romney and he (Schmidt) has the Johnston hard drive.

The press is not going to pick up a story like this. It is just someone writing a blog.

No crime was committed as far as the press is concerned because no crime report has been filed and no investigation is in process. The only story is that someone had a terrible experience. I live in a fire zone where the loss of everything is always heartbreaking. People tell their stories and life goes on.

I agree with those that are saying to get an education. There is also adult education when Sherry can go to class and online is popular in Alaska. I know some sweet trusting women who are not really into asserting their needs until something happens and they find the gumption to make changes. If you don't know your rights to begin with problems are compounded. This first attempt at explaining the computer only serves to open the door to more questions. Idk, the time line detail, how long Republican operatives were in the house, did they sleep over there? What kind of access and were they alone in the house? For the life of me I don't know why anyone would not have the names of people that came to their house like that.

The female Republican operatives are not the only way the computer could have been tampered with. How long was the drug situation investigated? I recall something about it was put off in order to fit with what the campaign wanted. If we don't learn more, who can say what happened to the computers wasn't about the drug investigation only? I don't think that is the case, but shouldn't all possiblities be considered? Since there is no actual investigation, I guess not. That will make this Palin bashing. Not what Mercede wrote, but how the blogs pick up on this. The press might care if Mercede wrote this in a book, magazine or did interviews about her experience. If you want the press to care see what can be done to report the crimes and get an investigation.

  38. Why swap the harddrive? One computer pretty much looks like another. They could swap it out for another machine entirely and who would know? And all of the numbers would match. I doubt the repair guy would have her serial numbers on file to compare with the previous machine.

I think she should sue for the return of her machine or for compensation for it's replacement.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I see a lot of people talking about the Johnstons trying to get their computer back. The computer was seized in the aftermath of Sherry's arrest. Under forfeiture laws, the police are able to seize any property they believe could have in any way been involved in a drug sale. Once that property is seized, it is auctioned off. Even if no charges are ever filed, that property will never be returned.

This article by Radley Balko discusses forfeiture laws:

  44. Ok, it seriously creeps me out that the McCain campaign sent 2 women to babysit the Johnstons at the end of Sept, likely planning to keep them there for another 6-7 weeks. That is screwed up (I could use much stronger language). Why in the world would any campaign take such measures? (Rhetorical question.) Seriously, Bristol Palin's boyfriend's mother and sister are such a threat to the Palins that they have to send over kidnappers to keep them in line? That is just sick.

What is really pathetic is that it sounds like Sadie was happy to comply with reasonable requests. Want a certain pic removed? Sure. No problem. Pic removed. Want me to eliminate my presence on the intertubes? No, but happy to clean up my My Space page to help out. What do the Palins and the McCain campaign do? They kept the Johnstons hostage. That was so effective. Sheesh.

I am appalled about operatives being at the Johnston house or did they actually move in? Two operatives or more were there but that does not prove they had anything to do with what happened to a computer. Anna Arodzero is not going to answer any questions. Why would she care? She was doing a job and she is loyal to what she believes.

I don't know how it all happened but Arodzero was invited in. She was welcomed at the time and no one thought she had anything to do with the computer. Suspicion about the republican operatives came later. I would like to see that something more happens with all this. If I was in the Johnston's situation I don't know what I'd do. They need help.

It would be interesting to read more about everything that happened while operatives were in the house. More important that must be on record (McGinniss?). The original introduction to the republican operatives, first impressions, how it was on a daily routine while they were around and when and how they left. All the timing and details that can be remembered. Any receipts or paperwork that might relate. If no known names of operatives or picture identification when possible.

It is inexcusable that a national campaign would send operatives to a house of a possible in-law of a candidate. No one has as much as given a simple excuse for that.

At the time it was certain that Bristol and Levi were going to marry, according to the campaign. In the spin machine they were high school sweethearts. That was when it was all denied that Bristol got around and was a party girl. The last I remember hearing from Levi he was still saying Bristol was a good girl.

McCain is a piece of work himself. He could have had Sarah Palin properly vetted, instead it looks like he wanted her no matter what and he decided to just do cover up on the problems he knew and all that would come up. What a reckless, neglectful and abusive SOB he is when it comes to our country. I thought McCain was for election reform in the system. The FCC should investigate and come out and state how they view tactics like moving operatives into the home of a possible in-law. That alone is too crazy and no media cared. Similar things will happen again because no one cares to clean up the campaign election violations and crimes. We need reform and law enforcement. I hope people will demand that from future and current administrations.

We can't trust the FCC. When Watergate happened there was cover up but they did get around to taking care of the criminals to some degree. Thank you Katharine Graham. People like her are long gone. Joe McGinniss is covering the 2008 campaign. I hope he doesn't leave out the part about operatives in a the could-be-in-laws house and what happened to the sister of the disposable poser fiance.
