Joe McGinniss interview with Mike Porcaro, right wing radio host in what is clearly no longer "Sarah Palin's Alaska." Update!

You can hear the full one hour interview here.

Joe does not pull any punches here in defending his use of anonymous sources, the Palin induced fear which grips the people of Wasilla, and the utter dishonesty that permeates Sarah's personality.

In the second half of the interview Porcaro asks Joe to discuss the issue of babygate, and Joe does not shy away from the topic in any way. Though he still claims to be a "Trig-nostic" his focus on the issue indicates otherwise.

Now you must remember that this is a RIGHT WING radio host on the same radio station that also broadcasts programs by Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Mike Huckabee, yet Porcaro allows Joe to go into great detail about the pregnancy hoax without once interrupting him, which should indicate just how completely OVER Sarah Palin Alaskans are these days.

I ma certainly NOT a fan of Porcaro, but I have to admit that this was one of the best interviews I have heard Joe give thus far.

Update: For those who are having trouble hearing the entire interview, here is a better version that I found over at Progressive Alaska:

  6. I just listened to the whole show and it was great. I'm still wondering why Joe wasn't on Bill Maher when he was the announced guest?

THE ROGUE is an amazing book and should be read by anyone who is interested in TRUTH. Joe is obviously the real deal (rill dill in Sarahspeak), and should be supported for going where other "journalists" dared not go. Thanks for posting, Gryphen!

Thanks, Gryphen! I forgot that I wanted to listen to this last night. You saved me having to find a podcast. :) Another strong McGinniss interview. Love the way he handles himself. I was hoping one of the Palins would accept the call-in invite, but of course, wasn't holding my breath!

I think when Joe says that he is "Trignostic" is that he does not have a belief as to where the child known as "trig" came from. I think he firmly believes that he did not come from Sarah.

Bette Midler joked that the well-dressed ladies at yesterday’s Central Park Conservancy lunch at the Mandarin Oriental came straight out of reality-TV central casting. “I feel we have the makings here of what could become a groundbreaking reality television series, ‘The Fund-Raisers of Central Park,’ ” Midler said, adding, “I’ll be the mean, wine-swilling blonde with the unstable husband.” She also poked fun at GOP presidential hopefuls Ron Paul, Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann -- “It’s hard to appear less credible than Sarah Palin, but I’m darned if she hasn’t done it!” Midler was honored for her work rebuilding parks through her New York Restoration Project nonprofit, including planting trees all over the city through the MillionTreesNYC initiative. The actress, who’s currently filming “Parental Guidance” in Georgia, also joked she couldn’t stay long at the lunch because, “I promised the mayor that I would run down and help him tidy up Zuccotti Park.”

One of Julianne Moore’s latest parts has her feeling a bit jaded.

The actress — who is playing Sarah Palin in "Game Change," HBO’s upcoming movie about the '08 presidential race — recently told ABC News that the role has exposed her to some harsh political realities.

“In terms of the research I did on the way campaigns are conducted, you know, so much is about how do you get on the air, how to you get the most media attention, how do you make the most noise. When, in fact, what we’re all looking for is leadership,” she said. “We don’t want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us.”

Moore also said she’s “really disgusted” and “kind of ashamed” by the country’s divisive political climate. “I mean, there’s got to be an end to it,” she said. “I think everyone is really sick of it.”

  22. Okay, so HOW exactly is she inducing this fear. Do you think she is making (or having others make for her) direct threats to people who talk about her? Threats of physical harm or financial ruin? I just don't get it. She is no longer in public office. Can she really still do that much harm to the local folks?

Glad that Joe's still out there spreading the word about the real Sarah Palin. The nuts at C$P are still dreaming she'll "get in", that the GOP will have a brokered convention and Palin will win the nomination by acclamation--you betcha! Also they're excited she's going on Greta's show tonight, some still thinking she might hint that she was just kiddin' about not runnin'. They are so delusional, at least I hope so. But anyone who's read "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" knows that unlikelier candidates than Sarah Palin have risen to power thru the power of demogoguery. Before he rose to power, Hitler was considered a joke by much of the German populace. He seemed to be washed up, finished. Like Sarah Palin. That's why we can't ignore her, and that's why we can't ever just laugh her off.

i tell you all again..roger ailes and EVERYONE powerful behind the scenes knows full well of the trig hoax and how bizarre palin really is.

also remember there are tons of things joe knows that for legal reasons had to be left out of the book.

People who talked to Joe are liars. Every single one of them. And anonymous sources can't be trusted.

In fact, nobody who provides anonymous information or details about the Palins can be trusted.

By the way, they are a wonderful family, universally loved by everyone who meets them, Trig lives with Sarah, and Bristol is a smart, strong girl.

I wonder if people like Rush and Pocaro are now finally growing skeptical about Palin's stories. You have to ask yourself why did the GOP wash their hands of Palin so quickly? Why didn't Hannity defend her against Joe? Is this generous interview just further proof that conservatives are finally beginning to accept that she might have faked a pregnancy?

    @birdwatcher

I think she still has her hooks into some people in public office with influence. Any employee "at will" can be let go, and I wouldn't think there are tons of job opportunities in that area especially with the state of the economy. Wasilla sounds like way too small a world for me, and people are either afraid, can't or don't want to leave family or don't have the means to move away. Listening to the stories about threats and such reminds me of watching people in scary movies that keep staying in the house of horrors instead of leaving.

  32. Wonderful interview...on AK radio with Alaskans listening who knew some of the people they were talking about. Joe hit the highlights of the extreme religious agenda; the bullying she learned from her father; the expanse between her image and true self. I think almost every interviewer has asked him about babygate and he does a great job. As a woman, with daughters and granddaughters, who wants to see Sarah's promotion of the anti-women's right agenda stopped, I am extremely grateful. Caller Pat O'Hara was a highlight.

I think I heard Pocaro laugh after Joe pointed out that Stoll hadn't read the book and again when Joe said he was Trignostic.

Sarah ran a con job on Alaska as a mayor and governor. She thought she could take that show on the road but most of America saw through her and stopped her before she could do real damage to America.

Sarah can thank those idiots who sent SarahPac money, bought her books and DVD as well as attend her speeches. Sarah has at least 4 houses and several banks accounts due to the retards who sent her their last dime. Now those idiots are sitting at home wondering how they fell for her scam job.

  38. @1:33 There is nothing you can tell me that would make believe they were good people. I've seen SP and her family in action. It is all on video.

Good people do not go around calling some people "real" Americans and certain parts of America "real". They don't lie over and over and over again. The lies she has told are also on paper and directly from her mouth. She did nothing for her people when they were starving and needed heat while she was gov.

Do you know who helped these people? The Alaskan bloggers told people about it & they raised money & received supplies from people all over the world. What did Sarah do? Wait for months and then show up with a plate of cookies.

I've seen the footage of Piper with Sarah on her last big vacation, oops I mean tour of America. Her daughter was unhappy and I mean unhappy.

The only child of hers that has not acted out is Trig. Contrary to your opinion this is NOT normal. Maybe one child but all of them?

There are so many things it would take a book to write everything that shows she isn't a good person (oh that's right books have been written and they sure don't show SP in a good light).

I can see that she has some people fooled and that would include you as well. If you want to let people know how wonderful and strong and close they are you are on the wrong blog.

The interview abruptly cut off while Joe was explaining the craziness of Palin's "Wild Ride." Then it started back at the beginning...Joe got as far as Seattle on the wild ride when this happened, but wow! The straightforward, dry factual way he describes it really emphasizes how ludicrous Palin's story really was. No way was she in labor! And the world needs to know this. Dear Bio Channel,

For many years, I have enjoyed the programming offered by your channel. I loved the in depth profiles showcased on the A&E network and I was thrilled when Bio got its own channel. My family has watched many Bio programs and as a parent I like knowing there are shows which entertain and educate.

Due in part to these reasons, I am shocked to hear that Bio is featuring Bristol Palin on a new show. I do not believe Ms. Palin would have any measure of notoriety were it not for her high profile teenage pregnancy. I sympathize with young mothers having been one myself...the issue is that I would not have put myself up on such a pedestal and therefore implied others should be like me.

In this age of MTV paying teen mothers thousands of dollars to showcase pregnancies and groups of high schoolers getting pregnant "together" as if it were an after school activity, I really do not think it is appropriate to feature Bristol Palin in a reality show. Between her being paid over four hundred thousand dollars for ventures she only was part of due to her teen mother status and now being featured in a new show, why would other young ladies think anything aside from "teen pregnancy sells"?

When you factor in the incidents where Bristol has used racially or socially inappropriate language or gestures, I feel strongly that Bio should not feature Bristol Palin and I believe research on Bio's part would indicate many others feel the same way.

If Bio indeed showcases Ms. Palin in such a manner, I will no longer patronize the Biography network. I enjoy many of your programs and features, but I simply can't abide building an entire show around an individual who would not be known to the public were it not for a teenage pregnancy upon which she has already made half a million dollars.

At some point, someone needs to say "enough". I sincerely hope the Biography network will stand up and say "we made a mistake. We will not be featuring Bristol Palin as the center of any Bio program".

    Most sincerely,
    [my name]

lmao, Gryphen, Palin is hilarious on Greta right now. She literally talks about how candidates shouldn't be allowed to not really answer the question in depth and pivot...and that the moderators should zero in and force detailed answers.

SHE IS THE MOST UNSELF-AWARE, HYPOCRITICAL, WITCH, EVER!!

It's unbelievable. That is all she ever did during her VP debate.

She gets to sit back and criticize and say what the candidates should do, all while she's too chickenshit to do the same.

Why does no one point out that she has no right to criticize any of the candidates, now that she has proven that she's too much of a coward to do what they have to do?

You'er a lifesaver, Gryphen, thanks so much for this. I missed most of the first part yesterday when it was on live. Based on what I heard, it sounded like Joe was getting a fair shake.

But hearing the whole thing today just blew me away! He was treated with the respect he deserves as an accomplished author. That Steve Noll guy sounded really scared, dazed, and confused. And Joe handled it with aplomb. His wild ride explanation was clear, concise, and spot-on.

I read his book and felt the "liberal media" failed us for the most part by either not interviewing him, or treating him like a lunatic. I'm amazed this was on an Alaskan Right Wing program that airs beck and limbaugh.

I'm just starting Paradigm Shift, while waiting for Fred's book.

  56. What a great interview. Joe laid out the explanation of Sarah's alleged birth of Trig and why it raises so many questions in such a simple, forthright manner that is is almost impossible to dismiss it.

For a right-wing radio host, the questions were not the least bit dismissive of the book or its author. I had to laugh at Steve Stoll calling in and saying Palin never tried to appoint him to city council. According to him, everyone else is lying, including all the Alaskan media. He really sounded nervous. Palin had to be spitting nails if she listened to that interview and was hoping for anything positive to come out. There wasn't anything about it that was a plus for her. Joe came across as reasonable with clear-cut answers and without any hesitation on his part.

  59. Birdwatcher wrote: "Okay, so HOW exactly is she inducing this fear."

Sarah Palin is not the only person in Alaska and other places who bullies and induces others to do the same. People in other parts of the US (the deep south, NM, etc.) and countries where there are lots of isolated small towns, such as the bush in Australia have some of the same experiences. I do think it is worse in Alaska for the simple reason lots of them are run off from other states and end up here.
They start by spreading rumors, rolling their eyes so others can see them and telling lies about the person. Alaska can be very cliq-ish to begin with, then add the in-group and out-group mentality of the evangelical religions. The rumors cause people to think negatively about a person over time and are compounded when they come from a person of authority. People treat them differently at work, socially and in doing business with them. Here on the Kenai Peninsula this goes on within the women's shelters and the social work/mental health systems, especially the rumors. The target is left out of social activities, if they own a business less people buy from them or use their services. If they have a job people begin to sabotage them and workplace bullying may begin. Politically appointed heads of agencies can make things happen with just a phone call. Lets say their son is on probation, the governor (or agent of)calls the department of probation and encourages the P.O. to charge them with a violation so they go back to prison or does the same with a law enforcement agency or gets someone to file a false police report about them. Those appointed to protect a politician and do the bidding of those in power is probably not very good at their job, but that was not the reason they were appointed to begin with. They are selected for their lack of morals in the protection of corrupt politicians and retaliation of their enemies categories. This turns into a mobbing because they eventually can get a whole community against the person. Then when people at the state level participate people can get charged with crimes and incarcerated, get fired from their jobs due to lies, get blackballed from finding another job, etc. Even little things like not getting your PFD and then getting ignored when you complain, or applying for a hunting or fishing permit and having it sabotaged can happen. So, it is not just Sarah or Todd, they have a network of people who help them and many think bullying is justified for them due to religious wingnuttery. They ruin people's lives and can make them very ill.

The host had clearly read the book, was respectful, asked pertinent questions, never interrupted and generally didn't act like we're accustomed to having rw radio hosts acting. Joe was incredible - best interview ever & his best babygate explanation to date. Bravo!

I'd be willing to bet that Steve Noll is one of Sarah's "under the bus" former supporters. She used both him & Chryson (AIP) extensively to get in the Mayor's office. His denials of all info about him were pathetic and weak. Saying he wasn't a Palinista was very revealing. He sounded like he was scared to death, he probably was knowing what the Palin's are capable of.

Celia Harrison, yes indeed bullying goes on in small towns. It is going on right now in the small town I live in and the target is a black mayor, and two other neighbors who are resisting the bully tactics. Supporters of the bullies are in cahoots with the bullies, and in positions of power.

The spreading of false rumors and lies does start it off. It continues just as you say. One is left with a complete loss of trust, fear, and illness. Just what the bully wants.
