If the conservatives are going to constantly quote Ronald Reagan, then let them quote this.

That's right, Ronnie said that.

I sometimes think that the Republicans imagine Reagan as a grandfatherly version of the Bible.

They only quote the passages that speak to their ideological sensibilities and pretend that the parts which conflict with what they want to be true about Reagan simply don't exist.

That Reagan was more open minded than HW Bush on this concept still surprises.

Finally, a quote from Reagan that the baggers won't like...
In other news, Mooselini had two, count 'em, two appearances on Faux News yesterday! First up, in blue tie dye for Judge Andrew (it's a wonder the U.S. has anyone left to run the legal system, all the" judges" seem to work for Fox). Next up, for Hannity, she dug out the red leather jacket and invoked lot of " big dog" imagery... the P-bots must begging crazy! The pit bull is back!

Noticed that in both shots, she has gone back to the lake backdrop - maybe the weed collection caught fire, or attracted mice. Oh, and Wilma must've gotten her necklace back

Well, he may have stated a commitment to separation of Church and State on that occasion, but he apparently said things like this on others:

"Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged."

"If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

“Without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure.”

“Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face.”

I imagine these are some of the quotes Conservatives enjoy. I think he was fairly established as a Conservative Christian, no?

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm so glad you posted that particular quote. There is a definite disconnect between Ronnie's record and what today's conservatives think he accomplished. Keep pointing it out.

  7. NTW, they'll simply ignore this in the same way that they ignore the New Testament and still call themselves "Christians".

That's how they use The Bible too. No surprise.

WakeUpAmerica, there also was a definite disconnect between what Reagan said and what he did and also between what he said one time and what he said another time and what he said the time after that. He was particularly good at calling for and announcing tax cuts and then raising taxes the following week. The senile old goat just said whatever the puppeteers told him to.

We Democrats shop as Walmart too. I am a lifelong liberal Democrat, and love saving money at Walmart. So please stop making it seem like only teabaggers shop at Walmart. Even some folks with money shop a Walmart.

Obama is the Reagan of 2012

Newt and Mitt are clambering over each other trying to claim the Gipper's mantle. But it's a Democrat whose situation and rhetoric best mirror Reagan's

...And lost in this year's bloviating combat over the Reagan banner is another reality that will at first rile and finally infuriate Republicans as the opportunistic Romney runs and then stumbles toward a November showdown with Barack Obama. For on the evidence of history, it's likely that Obama will be the Reagan of 2012.

The one is certainly not the ideological heir of the other. But this president is beginning to travel a path along an emerging political landscape that parallels Reagan's in potentially decisive ways.

Is the GOP race over if Romney wins Florida?

Mitt Romney is poised to triumph in Florida. Newt Gingrich swears he'll keep fighting, but if he loses Florida, many politicos believe it's all over but the shouting

Hey, remember when Ronnie rolled-back the mpg requirements for cars and trucks that Jimme Carter put in place? So much for energy independence.

  22. Won't do any good.

If they can graze through the Bible, only using the quotes they like, they can do the same with Reagan.

Never knew a Republican who couldn't ignore facts that contradict their beliefs. Why should Reagan be an exception?

Hey troll !! If you are really a 'lifelong liberal Democrat', why on earth are you still using the very bad, palin-bot grammar, when referring to ALL your 'liberal Democrat friends and family'?

Will you never learn the difference between a noun and an adjective, etc.? You are all so obviously stupid (or just think that is so clever and cute?), it must be hard claiming to be anything else, but what you are -- which is 'palinbot trolls!!!
