NO shoes, NO shirt, NO tolerance, NO service. Tennessee restaurant refuses to serve anti-gay state senator.

"Hey! Not fair! Even homophobes have to eat!"
Courtesy of Think Progress:

A restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee refused to serve state Sen. Stacey Campfield, the man who sponsored the state’s “don’t say gay” bill, compared homosexuality to bestiality, and most recently told Michelangelo Signorile that it’s virtually impossible to spread HIV/AIDS through heterosexual sex. “I hope that Stacy Campfield now knows what if feels like to be unfairly discriminated against,” the Bistro at the Bijou wrote on its Facebook wall on Sunday. The restaurant has received an overwhelmingly positive response.

That is perfect! Good for this restaurant for standing up to discrimination.

Nicely done Tennessee!

Gryphen, why is it that you're not addressing the story about Todd doing robocalls and otherwise campaigning for Newt?

FYI, Jesse 8:40am EST, Morning Joe just ran a trailer for the movie Game Change and it showed palin in a VERY bad light. After the clip Joe and his guests were glossing over it and complimenting her on how hard it must have been to be put in that situation.......I almost threw up. Check it out. It must really be bad for her if they are backpeddling so fiercely.

Bravo to them! Let's hear what Rand Paul has to say about this...he should be in full support since he thinks restaurants can say no to blacks or hispanics or Muslims too.

Julianne Moore -- one of our greatest actresses. I fear she will give Palin greater substance than she deserves.

  10. I just heard about Todd campaigning yesterday. Made me laugh. He's worse than Joe the Plumber. That little girly voice is pathetic. Robo-calls with that voice? lol. And he's just another Joe six-pack with no brain, no education, no reality check, and no clue about government. And he's a secessionist. Good job, Newt. Slime on slime.

With a name like 'Stacey' I am wondering if he's trying to compensate for his own closet homosexuality...

"When I saw him at the front door, I told him to leave," Boggs said Monday. "It's just my way to show support for the gay community and stand up to somebody I think is a bully. He's really gone from being stupid to dangerous. I think he needs to know what it feels like to be discriminated against."

Anon 5:17 AM When a celebrity does not tell the truth about Palin's treachery, and mean-spiritedness, and hatefullness. ETC (like Julianne did not do) they lose my respect for good. I have no respect for the likes of Julianne Moore.

  15. Stacey Campfield was also escorted from Neyland Stadium October 31, 2011 because he wore a full head Mexican wrestling mask to the University of Tennessee football game that night ~ a DIRECT violation of the rules!

Anon 4:27, probably because it means nothing. lol

o/t Have you all seen who they got to play the Palin family???? The actors look nothing like them. Willow's actress is taller than BRistol's in one clip and looks like shes 25. Todd's actor looks WEIRD.

hahah. Aside from a bad dialect, Julianne looks like her. Shes just not quite as Alaskan vocally.

There have always been more sane than insane Tennesseans. Every state has bigots, but ours run for office and make news.

This guy's picture sets off my gaydar. If he leaves office, maybe he'll become a TV evangelist.

Hey wasn't the Republican conservative family values mayor shopping at the gay sex shop on the city's dime from Tennessee also too?

It's difficult to finesse acting straight when your name has "Stacey" and "Camp" in it, but it's not his fault.

I'm so glad this Bistro went the extra step and called attention to his homophobic and Santorumesque statements. I hope this starts a trend.

    Great Job, Tennessee!
