During his Univision appearance, Mitt Romney threw a temper tantrum over his introduction, and broke the rules by filling the audience with non-student activists to give the impression of more support from Latinos.

Hear that? The brown people who talk funny, love me!"
Courtesy of Buzzfeed:

When the Republican took his place Wednesday night in the first of two back-to-back candidate forums televised on the mega-network, he was greeted by an adoring, raucous crowd that cheered his every word, and booed many of the moderators' questions. The next night, President Obama was treated to stone cold silence from the audience as he was aggressively grilled on his lackluster immigration record.

The contrast was widely noted by observers who watched both forums — and it was glaring enough to evoke some boasting from the Romney campaign in the immediate aftermath.

"These forums are going to be watched by more Hispanics than watched the conventions," said Alberto Martinez, a Florida-based Romney adviser. "I think [Romney] did an amazing job, and I think it was pretty clear there wasn't the same excitement for President Obama."

But the enthusiasm gap may have been an optical illusion formed by a series of last-minute demands by the Romney campaign, according to Maria Elena Salinas, one of the Univision anchors who moderated the forums.

Salinas told BuzzFeed that tickets for each forum were divided between the network, the respective campaigns, and the University of Miami (which hosted the events) — and she said both campaigns initially agreed to keep the audience comprised mostly of students, in keeping with the events' education theme.

But after exhausting the few conservative groups on campus, the Romney camp realized there weren't enough sympathetic students to fill the stands on their night — so they told the network and university that if they weren't given an exemption to the students-only rule, they might have to "reschedule."

The organizers relented.

WTF? So essentially if the Romney campaign had played by the rules Mitt the Twit would have been sitting  in front of a number of empty seats in his brown face, instead of receiving the prearranged applause that we heard on the tapes.

Oh and that is not the ONLY time that Romney acted like a spoiled toddler.

While introducing Romney at the top of the broadcast, Salinas's co-anchor, Jorge Ramos, noted that the Republican candidate had agreed to give the network 35 minutes, and that Obama had agreed to a full hour the next night. Ramos then invited the audience to welcome Romney to the stage — but the candidate didn't materialize.

"It was a very awkward moment, believe me," Salinas said.

Apparently, Romney took issue with the anchors beginning the broadcast that way, said Salinas, and he refused to go on stage until they re-taped the introduction. (One Republican present at the taping said Romney "threw a tantrum.")

"Our president of news was talking to the Romney campaign and negotiating it," Salinas said. "But at that point, you can't really argue with that. The candidate is there, everyone is in their seats, the show must go on. There's a limit to how much we can object to it."

The compromise reached was that the anchors would note the discrepancy in the candidates' time commitments at the end of the broadcast. But Salinas said, by then, the crowd was cheering so loudly that they drowned out the anchors' words.

Here is a CNN interview with Maria Elena Salinas about the two interviews.

Okay I am being serious here, just who in the FUCK would support this pompous, over-privileged, fraud at this point? Anybody?

You know you can almost hear the wheels flying off the campaign bus as it careens out of control. What a miserable joke this guy has turned out to be. And no WONDER his fellow GOP candidates hated his ass!

I found it interesting that a slide displayed in the video showed Obama with 67% support from Hispanics and McCain with 31%. I wonder who made the mistake of using McCain instead of Romney?

It's not a mistake. They were showing that there's a trend for Obama. Since the 2012 election hasn't actually happened yet, they can't give numbers on how many Latinos voted for Romney.

I have long suspected that Romney buses in LDS from local stakes. Check out the Paul Ryan announcement. The ladies behind him were acting like church ladies, especially the one who covered her face with tissues. Very weird. Then there were the unpaid nonunion miners who were forced to take an upaid day to be his backdrop and the recently pissed-off looking workers in blue shirts who were behind him when he babbled somewhere in Ohio.

"The candidate's Utah visit began shortly after 1 p.m. when he was greeted by a local troop of Boy Scouts after his campaign plane landed at the Provo airport.

He waved to the media and the handful of people gathered outside the security fence to cheer his arrival but made no public statement. Ryan did, however, take time to ask the Scouts from Troop 720 their names and shake their hands."

Both appearances violated official BSA policy.

      Official BSA policy:
"Since we are in a presidential election year, it is a good time to restate the BSA s long-standing policy regarding the participation of Scouts in political rallies and other political events. To that end, the National Council recently sent the following message to every council in the country:

Uniformed unit members and leaders may participate in flag ceremonies at political events and may lead the Pledge of Allegiance; however, they should retire after the ceremony and not remain on the speakers platform or in a conspicuous location where television viewers could construe their presence as an endorsement or symbol of support. In addition, photos of candidates or Scouts in uniform or BSA marks and logos are not allowed in political campaign materials of any kind.

Volunteers and professionals must be alert to situations that would imply that the BSA favors one candidate over another. Strict observance of our long-standing policy against the active participation of uniformed Scouts and leaders in political events is mandatory.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please call me at the council office (248.338.0035).

      Scout Executive/CEO "

      http://www.lvacbsa.org/bsa-legal/scouting-involvement-in-politics/18905

As a former scout I'd like to point out that

      1. We as scouts knew the policies concerning attending events in uniform and what activities were acceptable as representatives of the BSA when wearing the uniform.

      2. We knew what the uniform was, and none of us would have showed at any official troop or even a meeting dressed like these sad sacks are. Perhaps at a patrol meeting, if there were no other visitors or scouts from other patrols present. Meeting a vice presidential or presidential candidate or even performing color guard duty looking like this? These so called scouts don't even rate tenderfoot status.

This is what many Mormon scout troops look like. This is one reason that Mormon scouts regularly die stupidly when they go into the outdoors. These scouts and their probably Mormon scoutmasters are idiots. Many of the badges they wear are probably not truly earned.

When the Mormon church appropriates it, it turns to shit.

It was noted during the GOP primaries that Romney bused in LDS students from Virginia to fill in the empty hall in Charleston, SC. where he was to speak.

It must be so disheartening for the groups that put on these functions (and the interviewers) to see how certain politicians manipulate things in these election processes.

I think Romney's actions and the information about the crowd he had purposedly put in there should have been disclosed immediately. He didn't follow the rules!

Immediate disclosure would stop either party from doing this type thing in the current election process as well as future ones.

We need to get truthfulness in these elections! Bullshit should be called out immediately!

And, the media should stop printing the crap that Sarah Palin puts out there. She's an idiot and has been proven so time and time again!

I find it unbelievable all the talk on MSM that Romney can turn this around.

There has been so much crap, lies and flip-flops out of his mouth together with the numerous Etch-A-Sketch character makeovers -- how in the world could you believe or trust a word out of his mouth from now until the election. Even the debates -- there is no way he is trustworthy even if he did set out some specifics as he's been caught numerous times and it's been publicized all over that he habitually changes his speech/talking points to fit the situation he's in. In doing so, he contradicts himself or the next day his campaign comes out with a statement that he didn't mean it.

For the that are voting -- they are gullible, stunned and stupid.

I think Romney's people paid the attendees. Seriously, what does thisw man offer anyone? All pap, no meat. All criticism of the Obamas, nothing substantive of his own. There is no 'there' there people. And by the way, someone may have been talking about this on Thursday, but I didn't even know it had happened until today. So my guess is that any normal not glued to the political news person has no idea that some Latinos cheered a faux tan and not a real one.

This is the BEST the GOP can come up with? The last one voted off the island?
He offends the NAACP, then busses in his own brown people for a photo op.
He has a hissy fit and changes the optics and the rules by bussing in his own "hispanic" props.

How can Romney be taken seriously?
