Ted Nugent posts video of black man striking another man, and claims it depicts slain teenager Michael Brown in attempt to smear his name and the Black Lives Matter movement.

So on Nugent's Facebook page you can find this video of a black man, purported to be Michale Brown, striking another man from behind and then beating him and robbing him. It is quite terrible to be sure.

Nugent reposted the above video and then added his own comments as well:  

ALL LIVES MATTER but not to devilscum. If black lives matter then let us pray that blacks stop killing raping & destroying their own. Soulless pathetic punks. Here's the gentle giant of Ferguson in action. The world is clealy better off without such vicious devils.

The problem of course is that the man in the video is NOT Michael Brown. Which Snopes made clear back in December of 2014.

Oath Keepers Defend Right to Bear Arms Ferguson's Streets 0:52 Heavily-armed members of a controversial patriot group added an extra dose of unease to protests in Ferguson, Missouri, early Tuesday. 

The Oath Keepers organization says its members — all former military, police and first responders — pledge to "defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic." 

However, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar described their presence as "both unnecessary and inflammatory." 

Protesters and police confirmed that a handful of Oath Keepers with assault rifles, bulletproof vest and camouflage gear were seen early Tuesday on the streets of Ferguson, which was under a state of emergency following demonstrations pegged to the anniversary of Michael Brown's death. 

Several protesters confronted members of the group, asking why they were allowed to openly carry weapons. 

"I'm happy that we're able to defend ourselves," one Oath Keeper replied in footage from NBC station KSDK. "It's been our right for a long time." 

Apparently after being confronted some of the so-called Oath Keepers suggested they were there to protect the protesters from the police, but nobody was buying it. Especially the police who would have undoubtedly disarmed the men and sent them packing.

Oh I forgot these are white men.

Which is a difference that did not go unnoticed by the locals, one of whom tweeted:

"Black people are killed for carrying toy guns in an open carry state. White men come armed with assault rifles to a protest and nothing."

It really seemed that the Oath Keepers came to rub protester's noses in the fact that THEY could walk around heavily armed, while black folks were getting killed simply for jaywalking.

I guess there wasn't already enough racial tension for their liking.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch launches investigation into police brutality in Baltimore.

The Justice Department launched on Friday a pattern or practice investigation into the methods of the Baltimore Police Department, weeks after the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. 

Calling police-community relations "one of the most challenging issues of our time," Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced Friday the investigation, which will look into whether the police department has used excessive force and conducted unlawful searches, seizures and arrests, and discriminatory policing practices through the lens of civil rights and constitutional violations. 

She said she launched the investigation at the urging of Baltimore officials and community leaders, and with the support of the Baltimore police union. 

"Our goal is to work with the community, public officials, and law enforcement alike to create a stronger, better Baltimore," Lynch said at a press conference Friday. If violations are found, the investigation will result in a "court-enforceable agreement" to change the practices of the Baltimore Police Department.

This of course follows the DOJ's scathing report on what they found after investigating Ferguson.

I have a feeling that there will be similar findings after this investigation in Baltimore.

Personally I think that if the Department of Justice were to investigate police departments all over the country, that they would find racism brutality, and injustice, in varying degrees, practiced by virtually all of them. 

I did not use to think that was true, but that was before the evidence started showing up in video clips, witness accounts, and e-mails. Now only a blind man could say that he did not see institutional racism in every nook and cranny of our society.

After election of first African American female mayor, 80% of police force resigns.

Voters in Parma, Missouri voted in their first African-American female mayor. 

Tyrus Byrd will be sworn in as mayor on Tuesday evening, April 14 at the Parma Community Building. 

According to Mayor Randall Ramsey, five out of six police officers resigned this week, effectively immediately. 

Mayor Ramsey said the city's attorney, the clerk and the waste water treatment plant supervisor also turned in resignation letters citing "safety concerns."

The previous mayor, a white guy of course, had been in office for 37 years.

Parma only has 740 residents so some wondered why they needed six police officers in the first place.

By the way Missouri is also where Ferguson is located, so as you see the state continues to struggle with their racism problem.

Former Ferguson City Court Clerk fired over racist e-mails claims she felt like she was "raped."

“It took me a while to get over the feeling of being raped and being thrown under the bus,” she told KMOV in her first interview since losing her job. “I feel like I was the sacrificial lamb.” 

She added that if everyone who sent racist emails were fired they’d “have to shut the doors.” 

“It went on all the time.” Twitty did say she understands how the emails look bad in retrospect, but insisted she meant nothing racist by it. 

“It’s ruined my name, it’s devastated me,” Twitty said. “I’m not that person that they’re saying I am…It’s not like I personally sent them out or forwarded them to the police officers to hurt anyone or be racist. Because I’m not racist…I’m human. I meant nothing bad by it.

So to be clear Ms. Twitty did not send out those racist e-mails because she is a bigot. She sent them out because making derogatory remarks and showing racially insensitive images of black people  is funny.

After all what's racist about that?

She is right about one thing however if indeed it "went on all the time" then she should certainly not be the only city employee to lose her job over it.

Jon Stewart slams Fox News for hypocrisy and then literally drops the mic.

Stewart pointed out that, while Fox hosts have focused all of their attention on a Justice Department report finding no evidence that Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson last year, they have pointedly ignored that the department also found extensive evidence that Wilson’s colleagues on the Ferguson Police Department systematically targeted the city’s black residents for citations and traffic stops — a pattern of discrimination which lent itself to a flashpoint incident like the shooting. 

Similarly, he said, Fox “used ‘Benghazi’ like a clubhouse password” — right up until the Republican-led House Intelligence Commmittee debunked the network’s favorite talking points. 

“Did Susan Rice go on TV and try to deceive anyone? Report says no,” Stewart explained. “Did the administration ignore credible warnings about that day’s attack? Report says no. Was there a stand-down order or failure to rescue [the victims] and send rescue planes? Report says no. Was there a massive intelligence cover-up? Report says no — not CIA, not FBI, none of them.” 

“They demand accountability for anger and divisiveness whilst holding themselves entirely unaccountable for their anger and divisiveness. For two years, they used Benghazi as shorthand, as a symbol for the whole concept of a corrupt, lying, tyrannical — possibly murderous — Obama White House,” Stewart said. “Kind of how other people used ‘Hands Up Don’t Shoot’ as a symbol for systemic racism. There’s really only one difference between the two phenomena: systemic racism actually exists.”

After making that point Stewart literally dropped the mic.

And well he should because THAT was a thing of beauty. 

Suspect in the shooting of two Ferguson police officers arrested.

A 20-year-old man from the St. Louis area has been arrested in connection with the shooting of two police officers during last week's protests in Ferguson, Missouri, a prosecutor said Sunday. 

Jeffrey Williams was arrested late Saturday, and he has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, a count of firing a weapon from a vehicle and three counts of armed criminal activity, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch said at a news conference in Clayton. 

"The demonstrations were pretty much over (when the officers were shot). People were leaving, and that's when this happened," he said, describing Williams as a demonstrator who had taken part in protests on numerous occasions. 

At the time of his arrest, Williams was on probation for receiving stolen property, and McCulloch said he believed Williams had an outstanding warrant after not reporting to his probation officer for several months. 

The prosecutor repeatedly thanked the public for the information that led to the arrest. He also said that, because of the public's assistance in the case, police were able to serve a search warrant on Williams' residence where they seized a .40-caliber handgun, "which has been tied to the shell casings that were recovered" at the scene of the shooting.

Can only imagine how surprised the Fox News crowd were to discover that the shooter was not either President Obama or Eric Holder.  This must be a huge letdown for them.

And look the public were actually helpful in finding this man, which goes against the conservative meme that Ferguson is full of people who want to do harm to the police, or protect those that do.

By the way it should be noted that some of the Ferguson protesters are not at all convinced that this was also a protester.

On radio talk show Rudy Giuliani blames President Obama for the cops being shot in Ferguson and suggests he should talk more like Bill Cosby.

Host John Gambling sought Giuliani’s take on the vicious McDonald’s fight; the recent police shootings in Ferguson, Mo., and NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton getting booed Thursday at a City Council hearing by protesters. 

Giuliani said, “It all starts at the top. It’s the tone that’s set by the President.” 

The former mayor said he just returned from a trip overseas, and the United States is constantly derided there as a “racist state.” 

“It is the obligation of the President to explain . . . that our police are the best in the world,” said Giuliani. 

Obama is also not addressing the “enormous amount of crime” that’s being committed by African-Americans, Giuliani said. 

“I hate to mention it because of what happened afterwards, but (he should be saying) the kinds of stuff Bill Cosby used to say,” said Giuliani.

Okay so in what way should the President talk more like Bill Cosby?

Should he tell young women, "Here drink this it will make it easier for me to rape you?"

I fail to see how that would be an improvement on anything he says now.

No of course Guiliani is talking about how Cosby used to lecture black men about being better fathers, because racist assholes like Giuliani love it when black people slam other black people, because then he can repeat it without sounding like a racist.

Or so he thinks.

Apparently Guiliani takes his cues about what is, or is not, racist from "The Office."

Oh by the way Giuliani is by no means alone in his blaming of Obama for the cops being shot in Ferguson, the entire Right Wing media network is right there with him.

Gee, it's almost like they coordinate with each other or something.

In wake of scathing DOJ report Ferguson police chief calls it quits.

After a federal report alleged widespread racial bias in his department, the police chief of Ferguson, Missouri, has agreed to resign. 

Ferguson came under investigation after a white police officer killed an unarmed black teenager in August, sparking weeks of unrest. 

Several other Ferguson officials have stepped down in wake of the report. 

US authorities have vowed to reform the force, possibly dismantling it. 

Thomas Jackson had resisted calls from protesters and some state leaders to step down, after the shooting of Michael Brown and the weeks of demonstrations that followed. 

The city said it would be giving Mr Jackson a severance payment and would pay for his health insurance for one year.

The resignation is effective on March 19th, you can read his resignation letter here.

Well finally some change is coming to Ferguson, Missouri. Too bad it took the death of an unarmed eighteen year old to make it happen.

Eric Holder's remarks about the DOJ's Ferguson investigation.

Here is a summary of Holder's remarks by The Guardian:

• Attorney general Eric Holder said a “searing” justice department report on racial discrimination by Ferguson police contained “deeply alarming” documentation of “abusive and dangerous” behaviour. 
• Holder defended a justice department decision not to bring charges against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the killing last August of Michael Brown. ““I urge you to read this report in full,” he said, addressing skeptics. 
• Holder said the justice department was ready “to force compliance and implement basic change” to fix routine civil liberties violations in Ferguson. 
• The feds are not done with Ferguson, Holder said, calling for a “court-enforceable remedial process that includes involvement from community stakeholders as well as independent oversight.” 
• The department of justice will engage not just Ferguson, but “surrounding municipalities – to reform their law enforcement practices,” Holder said. 
• A justice department report exposed a pattern of racist and abusive behaviour on the part of Ferguson police and city employees. 
• The report found that apart from fatal incidents such as the killing of Michael Brown, Ferguson police systematically harassed, over-ticketed, insulted, wrongfully arrested and physically abused African-American residents, with sometimes shattering implications for the lives of the abuse victims. 
• The report said police dogs were only used against black people and Tasers were over-used. It published racist emails passed among city employees. 
• Holder called the Ferguson police department a “collection agency” for the city instead of a law enforcement agency.

Here are some of the racist e-mails uncovered by the investigation, courtesy of AATTP:

A November 2008 email stated that President Barack Obama would not be President for very long because “what black man holds a steady job for four years.” 

A March 2010 email mocked African Americans through speech and familial stereotypes, using a story involving child support. One line from the email read: “I be so glad that dis be my last child support payment! Month after month, year after year, all dose payments!” 

An April 2011 email depicted President Barack Obama as a chimpanzee. A May 2011 email stated: “An African-American woman in New Orleans was admitted into the hospital for a pregnancy termination. Two weeks later she received a check for $5,000. She phoned the hospital to ask who it was from. The hospital said, ‘Crimestoppers.’” 

A June 2011 email described a man seeking to obtain “welfare” for his dogs because they are “mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English and have no frigging clue who their Daddies are.” 

An October 2011 email included a photo of a bare-chested group of dancing women, apparently in Africa, with the caption, “Michelle Obama’s High School Reunion.” 

A December 2011 email included jokes that are based on offensive stereotypes about Muslims.

Yeah, no racism there.

DOJ finds that Ferguson police department racially biased. No, really? Update!

A Justice Department review has found that Missouri's troubled Ferguson Police Department engaged in a broad pattern of racially biased enforcement that permeated the city's justice system, including the use of unreasonable force against African American suspects, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the findings. 

In 88% of cases in which Ferguson police documented the use of force, for example, that force was used against African Americans, according to the official who is not authorized to comment publicly. In addition, in all 14 canine bite incidents in which the suspect's race is known, the person bitten was African American. 

African Americans account for 67% of the population in Ferguson, but they accounted for 85% of the drivers stopped by police, 90% of the people issued tickets and 93% of the people arrested, a three-year examination of suspect stops found. When those cases reached the Municipal Court, authorities collected more fines for suspects' failure to appear than any other charge, mostly from the city's poorest and most vulnerable residents. 

African Americans were more than twice as likely than white drivers to be searched during vehicle stops, but 26% less likely to have contraband, the review found. 

The Ferguson Police Department often charged its black residents with petty crimes. African Americans accounted for 95% of the people charged with walking in the street and 92% of people charged with disturbing the peace.

Well this comes too late to bring justice to Michael Brown, but hopefully it might help to protect the next Michael Brown.

Update: Also found among municipal e-mails was this statement about President Obama: 

Among the report's findings was a racially tinged 2008 message in a municipal email account stating that President Barack Obama would not be president for very long because "what black man holds a steady job for four years."

Perhaps they were thinking of a certain half term quitter from Wasilla. Because our President is in it for the long haul. 

Bar complaint filed against Ferguson grand jury prosecutor Bob McCulloch. About damn time!

A bar complaint against St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch and Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Kathi Alizadeh and Sheila Whirley has been filed regarding the handling of the Ferguson grand jury. 

Attorney and former judge James R. Dowd and attorney Robert Ramsey reviewed the grand jury transcript – including evidence, witness interviews and testimony – before a group of seven citizens and attorneys – led by Christi Griffin, founder of the Ethics Project – filed an 11-page complaint with the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel in Jefferson City, Missouri. 

Griffin says the complaint focuses on more than 15 Rules of Professional Conduct the group believes were violated, including the following: 

- Presenting witnesses to the grand jury – including Darren Wilson – who McCulloch, Alizadeh and Whirley knew or should have known would make false statements, is not exhaustive. 

Under Missouri Supreme Court Rule, the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel has the duty to investigate allegations of misconduct by lawyers and for prosecuting cases where the misconduct poses a threat to the public or to the integrity of the legal profession. It is the position of the complainants that McCulloch, Alizadeh and Whirley’s conduct have done both. 

- Presenting the grand jury with a legal instruction ruled unconstitutional for decades. 

- Mislabeling and misplacing evidence related to key witness Dorian Johnson.

 - Failing to provide specific charges to the jury after “dumping” on them thousands of pages of interviews and evidence the complainants cite as going above gross negligence.

Personally I hope this is only the beginning and that this guy not only loses his job but gets sued into bankruptcy.

A member of the Michael Brown grand jury is suing so that he can speak out about the case. And we should all hope he wins.

A member of the grand jury that declined to file criminal charges against former Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown sued St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch Monday for the right to speak publicly about the proceedings. 

The suit says that the former juror, identified in court documents only as "Grand Juror Doe," wishes to speak out to challenge public misconceptions about the case and that speaking publicly could "contribute to the current public dialogue concerning race relations" that was sparked by the Aug. 9 fatal shooting. It hints that jurors were not unanimous in their decision. Doe also wants "to advocate for legislative change to the way grand juries are conducted in Missouri," the suit says, and more simply, be able to talk about the case "with close family members at home."

The plaintiff claims McCulloch's characterization of the grand jury's view of the evidence after they declined to indict Wilson was at odds with Doe's opinions of the case, that the public's understanding of the grand jurors' views is "not entirely accurate." 

The investigation of Wilson "had a stronger focus on the victim than in other grand jury cases," the suit says. The presentation of evidence and "the State's counsel to the grand jury" "differed markedly and in significant ways. . . from the hundreds of matters presented to the grand jury earlier in its term." The suit also claims the legal guidelines presented to jurors in applying facts of the case were "muddled and untimely" compared to other cases.

Well we all know that this gran jury case was fixed from the get go, so it would be really great to have the opportunity to hear what really happened behind the scenes. 

It might also be helpful to the Feds who are doing their own investigation.

MSNBC reported last night that St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch put witnesses before the Ferguson grand jury that he KNEW were lying. WTF?

Certain witnesses who spoke before the grand jury investigating the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown told obvious lies under oath, St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said Friday. 

“Clearly some were not telling the truth,” he said during an interview on KTRS 550. He added that he's not planning to pursue charges against any lying witnesses. 

In his first extensive interview since the grand jury decided not to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, McCulloch said he had no regrets about letting grand jury members hear from non-credible witnesses. 

“Early on I decided that anyone who claimed to have witnessed anything would be presented to the grand jury,” McCulloch said. He added that he would've been criticized no matter his decision. 

During the interview, McCulloch referenced a woman who claimed to have seen the shooting. 

This “lady clearly wasn't present,” McCulloch said. “She recounted a story right out of the newspaper,” backing up Wilson's version of events.

Okay I am pretty sure that it is unethical to have witnesses provide testimony to a grand jury that you know are lying.

And I KNOW it is against the law to lie to the grand jury.

So why isn't anybody getting prosecuted over this?

I think that the prosecuting attorney should be disbarred and this woman thrown in jail. That to me seems obvious.

And then I would like somebody to call Hannity out for constantly using the ONE witness which supported his inner prejudice and his desire to find Darren Wilson guiltless.

The oft quoted "Witness 40" in the Michael Brown shooting trial turns out to be a racist ex-felon who was nowhere near the incident that day.

The grand jury witness who testified that she saw Michael Brown pummel a cop before charging at him “like a football player, head down,” is a troubled, bipolar Missouri woman with a criminal past who has a history of making racist remarks and once insinuated herself into another high-profile St. Louis criminal case with claims that police eventually dismissed as a “complete fabrication,” The Smoking Gun has learned. 

In interviews with police, FBI agents, and federal and state prosecutors--as well as during two separate appearances before the grand jury that ultimately declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson--the purported eyewitness delivered a preposterous and perjurious account of the fatal encounter in Ferguson. 

Referred to only as “Witness 40” in grand jury material, the woman concocted a story that is now baked into the narrative of the Ferguson grand jury, a panel before which she had no business appearing. 

While the “hands-up” account of Dorian Johnson is often cited by those who demanded Wilson’s indictment, “Witness 40”’s testimony about seeing Brown batter Wilson and then rush the cop like a defensive end has repeatedly been pointed to by Wilson supporters as directly corroborative of the officer’s version of the August 9 confrontation. The “Witness 40” testimony, as Fox News sees it, is proof that the 18-year-old Brown’s killing was justified, and that the Ferguson grand jury got it right. 

However, unlike Johnson, “Witness 40”--a 45-year-old St. Louis resident named Sandra McElroy--was nowhere near Canfield Drive on the Saturday afternoon Brown was shot to death.

Witness 40 is of course the ONLY witness that Sean Hannity ever quotes, while he conveniently pretends that the other twenty or more witnesses do not exist.

Not at all surprising that he chose the one that is a fucking liar. 

For those who may have forgotten this is the graphic that shows the numerous inconsistencies among the witnesses.

I have a feeling that this Sandra McElroy is not the only "witness" to have perjured themselves before the Grand Jury.

Former St. Louis police officer: Darren Wilson processed his own evidence after shooting Michael Brown. #Fergusonisnotover.

Redditt Hudson a former police officer with St Louis County police says Darren Wilson processed his own evidence. Reddit also says he was in the room when Ferguson police chief Tom Jackson told them, Darren Wilson had no knowledge of Michael Brown being involved in a store robbery before the encounter with Wilson.

Hudson also wrote a rather incredible piece for  the Washington Post about how being a cop taught him about racism within law enforcement.

I think Chris Hayes is one of the last television hosts still digging into Ferguson, for which I admire him greatly.

It seems since the Eric Garner situation hit the front pages, with incriminating video and everything, that the shooting of Michael Brown has been permanently pushed to the side.

And that is too bad, because in my opinion there is still much to learn about the Ferguson case, and it will never be uncovered now that most news outlets have moved on to the next hot story.

However Michael Brown remains dead, Darren Wilson remains free, and justice remains unserved. 

According to Fox News the American public need to be trained to respect the police. Yeah, that's the problem.

You know occasionally I watch a little of Pirro's show just to remind myself how histrionic these people can be.

The Grand Jury's decision in the Eric Garner case was so terrible that it drained the funny right out of Jon Stewart.

You know we rely on Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert, to find the humor in situations that seem to defy laughter.

However during last night's show Stewart's reaction was really the ONLY reaction that we could have expected him, or anybody, to have in response to this incomprehensible news.

Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Victor White III, Eric Garner,  after awhile it is simply too much to take anymore.

Finally white America has discovered something about itself that minorities have known all along. And they don't like it.

Darren Wilson did NOT know about the convenience store robbery when he confronted Michael Brown on the streets of Ferguson. Update!

In Wilson's now very public account of his encounter with Michael Brown and Dorian Johnson on August 9 he has claimed that he asked Brown and Wilson to move to the sidewalk rather than walk in the street. 

When they walked on, Wilson has repeatedly stated, he realized they matched the description of two suspects wanted in connection with the robbery of nearby Ferguson Market. A youth matching Brown's description had stolen a box of Swishers cigarillos. 

It was this realization, he stated, that caused him to reverse his vehicle and sparked the car-side confrontation that left Brown dead on the street with six bullets in his body. 

But the sworn testimony of Wilson's squad supervisor directly contradicts this account. 

Wilson's supervisor was the first officer to speak with the 28-year-old cop following the shooting. The men spoke before St Louis County Police had even been notified of the incident and before the medical examiner or investigating officers had arrived on the scene. 

At that time, the supervisor said:'He [Wilson] did not know anything about the stealing call.' 

When pressed by the attorney questioning him, the officer reiterated that Wilson, 'did not know anything'. 

Asked, 'He told you he didn't know about there being a stealing at Ferguson Market?' 

The officer responded, 'Correct.' 

Now this is a key fact because, number one it proves that Wilson was not responding to a person that he knew to be violent, and number two it proves that Wilson lied to the Grand Jury. 

And the part that I found particularly enlightening was that in fact Wilson could NOT have known about the robbery because the call came in AFTER the shooting had already taken place.

(Update: Okay somebody asked me how I know that the robbery call came in after the shooting. In point of fact I described that poorly. What I meant to say was that it was unlikely that other officers would be looking out for Brown as the responding officer only received the call after 11:54, which is immediately after the robbery took place. He then had to drive to the convenience, conduct his interview (At which time he received a more detailed description.) Brown was shot dead at 12:01 which means that quite literally this officer was probably in the process of conducting his investigation.  And as this was a low priority, unarmed, snatch and grab it is very unlikely that he called for assistance or put out an APB.)

And remember 15 witnesses said that Michael Brown was running away when Wilson started firing at him, and 16 said he had his hands up before the last bullets were fired.

I think at this point the Justice Department has no choice but to launch their own investigation.

This whole thing stinks like crazy.
