Alaska's favorite domestic terrorist is trying to get out of prison again.

Schaeffer Cox, the imprisoned founder of the Alaska Peacemakers Militia, is petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to review his 2012 conviction that put him in federal prison for 26 years. 

Michael Filopovic, Cox’s federal public defender, recently filed the petition seeking the Supreme Court review partly claiming lower appeals courts have issued conflicting rulings on legal issues raised in the Cox case. 

”This case … really concerns the outer limits of liability for conspiracy in the federal courts, particularly with respect to statutes involving conspiracy to murder federal officials or federal agents,” Filipovic told Alaska Public Media. 

Specifically, the defense attorney claims, the petition raised the question whether Cox’s talk about murdering government officials, who weren’t specifically identified, posed an actual threat. 

Filopovic argues that threats from Cox and his militia group would have been carried out only if the U.S. government implemented martial law, something he claims was highly unlikely.

"Look I was going to kill you if you did this thing, I even bought weapons and made plans for that very reason. But since you didn't do that thing no harm no foul, right?"

Typically I would say that Schaeffer's chances of getting out of prison were about as good as Donald Trump's chances of finding his own penis without a hand mirror and a pair of tweezers.

However we now live in strange times, where the government does not seem to even recognize terrorism if it is carried out by a white guy, and where even a scumbag like Scooter Libby can be pardoned for obstruction of justice and lying to the feds.

So who knows?

Woman who was fired for flipping off Donald Trump's motorcade is suing her former employer.

Juli Briskman, the Virginia cyclist who flipped off the presidential motorcade and lost her job last fall, doesn’t think we should be afraid to speak our minds. 

That’s why she went to court Wednesday to sue Akima, the government contracting firm that fired her. 

“I filed this lawsuit against my former employer today because I believe that Americans should not be forced to choose between their principles and their paychecks,” Briskman said.

Now you might think that Briskman does not have a firm leg to stand on, after all the 1st Amendment only protects from retaliation by the government, it does not force a company to keep you on if your actions embarrass them or make it untenable to keep you employed.

However the company that Briskman worked for was a government contractor.

Our right to free speech may protect us from punishment by the government, but it’s not clear whether it protects our jobs when our bosses don’t like how we behave. 

But Briskman’s legal team of Maria Simon and Rebecca Geller argue there is a big difference in Briskman’s case. 

"Akima’s actions — forcing Juli to resign out of fear of unlawful retaliation by the government — violated the basic tenets of Virginia employment law,” Simon said.  

See, Briskman’s bosses didn’t take a moral stand against her action. They didn’t worry that an obscene gesture offends her fellow employees or sullies the good name of her company. 

I wasn’t successful in reaching anyone at Akima for comment. But the firm is a government contractor, and it made it clear to Briskman that it was worried about retaliation from this administration. 

“Defendant forced plaintiff to resign for the stated reasons that the photograph of her would have an adverse effect on its ability to obtain government contracts,” the lawsuit said.

THAT makes this case a little different from the ones where a neo-Nazi was fired for attending a rally, or a TV station fires an employee for sending antisemitic emails.

If it can be demonstrated that Briskman lost her job because her company feared retaliation by the government, that would indeed constitute a breach of her 1st Amendment rights.

Personally I hope she wins.

The right to flip off Donald Trump should actually be added as another amendment to the Constitution. And I bet a lot of other people would agree with that.

Senator Elizabeth Warren holds health insurance executive's feet to the fire, while also making argument for single payer.

Elizabeth Warren is shocked to find out that the health insurance giant, Anthem, gets roughly half their quarterly earnings from the federal government, and still has the audacity to pull out of the Affordable Care Act marketplace--thus sowing more instability for millions of the poorest Americans--because their demands aren't being met. 

I have to say that if I were somebody involved in some shady shit and I knew I was about to be grilled by Elizabeth Warren I would be pooping my pants.

She is unbelievably good at this stuff and simply does not tolerate bullshit.

And she is right, this kid of greed in the health insurance market is exactly why we need to seriously consider moving to a single payer, government controlled, health care system.

Alabama candidate for Attorney General suggests that citizens of his state should take up arms to end abortion.

This is from a speech that Sam McLure, a candidate for Attorney General of Alabama, delivered to the Alabama Constitution Party while standing in a Bass Pro Shop: 

“McLure said that for a politician to say that he is Pro-Life but that he can do nothing about abortions because Roe v. Wade is the law of the land is a farce and a cop out. We have been manipulated by politicians who claim they are Pro-Life but don’t do anything about it. The Roe versus Wade ruling barred the State from protecting the lives of children.” 

McLure denounced Gloria Grey, who he said “makes $2 million a year to convince parents to kill their children. She owns the abortion clinic in Tuscaloosa. Since Roe v. Wade in 1972, over 500,000 Alabama children have been killed by abortion, 16 a day.” The adoption attorney in his first run for office, said that if a Pro-Life Governor, backed by a Pro-Life Attorney General and Legislature shut down abortion in the State, there is nothing anyone could do to stop it. “Sure Judge Myron Thompson would rule it unconstitutional but who would enforce it? Would President Trump intervene with troops? I don’t think so. They could cut off Federal funding,” but McLure doubted that they would. “The Second Amendment provides ‘for a well regulated militia.’ Where is Alabama’s militia? The armed people of Alabama are the militia and they would prevent a Federal officer from moving against a Pro-Life Alabama Governor who ended abortion in the State. You must be willing to die for your political beliefs and to protect your neighbor’s lives.”

Willing to die for your political beliefs is crazy enough, but this guy is also suggesting that a militia, comprised of Alabama citizens, engage in a gun battle with federal officers sent by a judge to enforce the law. 

Essentially this guy is suggesting that if citizens shot and killed officers of the court that the Federal government would not dare to do anything about it.

That is the exact same kind of thinking that sent Alaska's own domestic terrorist Schaeffer Cox to prison for 20 years, and this guy wants to be Alabama's Attorney General?

At one point in his speech McLure declared that his anti-abortion cause was similar to that of William "Braveheart" Wallace. (Because apparently Mel Gibson was fighting to take away a woman's right to choose in that movie.)

I swear these idiots are literally pouring out of the woodwork these days.

Makes me wonder if they think that because Donald Trump is in the White House that all law and order just ceased to exist or something.

A short, anti-Nazi film titled "Don't Be A Sucker" has reemerged after this past weekend's deadly white-supremacist rallies in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

Produced by the US War Department in 1943 and released two years after the end of World War II, the film was a warning to Americans to resist fascist rhetoric — and to condemn it even if you're not among those directly under attack. 

The film opens with an agitated man handing out pamphlets and yelling to a crowd from a podium about the threat posed to "real Americans" by black people, "foreigners," Catholics, and Freemasons. "I see foreigners with money," the man shouts. 

"I see negroes holding jobs that belong to me and you. Now I ask you, if we allow this thing to go on, what's going to become of us real Americans?

"The clip was posted to Twitter on Saturday night by an anthropologist named Michael Oman-Reagan, who said the post-World War II film was made "to teach citizens how to avoid falling for people like Trump." It had been retweeted more than 122,000 times by Monday morning.

And now I am sharing it with you here, and I encourage you to share it far and wide as well. 

The fact that it feels as if this film could have been made last year as a warning about what a Trump presidency might do to the country, is all the more reason that as many people as possible should see it now.

Buzzfeed requests FOIA of the Federal Government for access to information and testimony pertaining to that Russian dossier.

Add this surprising entry to the growing list of those issuing subpoenas for insight into the imbroglio involving President Donald Trump and the Russians: BuzzFeed. 

The online media outlet sent formal demands Thursday to the CIA, the FBI and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, seeking details on the distribution of an unverified intelligence dossier about Trump said to have been in the possession of Russian intelligence during last year’s presidential campaign, POLITICO has learned.

BuzzFeed is also seeking testimony from fired FBI Director James Comey, as well as former DNI James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan, said a source familiar with the subpoenas.

Now the reason that Buzzfeed is requesting this FOIA is to bolster their claim that publishing the dossier was protected by  the fair report privilege in order to fight a lawsuit against them from one Aleksej Gubarev, a Russian technology executive whose name happened to be included in that dossier.

Whatever the reason this could prove quite interesting as Buzzfeed will surely report on the progress of the subpoenas as well as share what they can of the testimony from Comey, Clapper, Brennan, and whoever else gets caught in their net.

I am also curious as to exactly how much of that dossier has been confirmed by the various intelligence agencies.

And this could be one way to find that out.

Trump Administration removes virtually ALL mention of climate change, and the science that backs it up, from federal government websites.

How these pages appeared when we had a real leader in charge of this country.

During inauguration day on 20 January, as Donald Trump was adding “American carnage” to the presidential lexicon, the new administration also took a hammer to official recognition that climate change exists and poses a threat to the US. 

One of the starkest alterations to the White House’s website following Trump’s assumption of office was the scrapping of an entire section on climate change, stuffed with graphs on renewable energy growth and pictures of Barack Obama gazing at shriveling glaciers, to be replaced by a perfunctory page entitled “An America first energy plan”. 

In the more than 100 days since, the administration has largely opted for a chisel and scalpel approach to refashioning its online content, but the end result is much the same – mentions of climate change have been excised, buried or stripped of any importance. 

Federal government websites are being combed through to apply new verbiage. The state department’s office of global change, for example, has removed links to the Obama administration’s 2013 climate action report and mention of the latest UN meeting on climate change. Text relating to climate change and greenhouse gases has also been purged.

Here is one of the worst things that this article pointed out:  

Trump’s desire to champion the coal industry is reflected in the Department of Energy’s online pages aimed at educating children. Sentences that point out the harmful health consequences of burning coal and other impacts of fossil fuels have gone.

It is one thing to remove data from websites visited by adults, who may have the wherewithal and intellect to find the right information elsewhere, but when you take it off of educational sites visited by children you are purposely misinforming them down and directly interfering in their education.

This reminded me of a scene from that very troubling "Jesus Camp" documentary in which one of the kids, Levi, is reading from home school material that purposefully minimizes global warming, and attacks Evolution.

Having a parent purchase home school materials to help misinform their children, and keep them ignorant, is bad enough, but when our own federal websites are doing the same that is indefensible.

Federal investigation of Fox News expands. Wait, what federal investigation of Fox News?

The U.S. Justice Department's investigation of Fox News has widened to include a second law enforcement agency. 

Financial crimes experts from the United States Postal Inspection Service are now involved, according to four sources connected to the investigation. 

Mail fraud and wire fraud cases are part of the USPIS purview. 

Investigators from both the USPIS and the Justice Department have been conducting interviews in recent weeks -- including with some former Fox staffers -- to obtain more information about the network's managers and business practices, the sources said. 

The existence of the federal investigation was revealed in February. At the time Fox News and its parent company 21st Century Fox said they had not been subpoenaed, but a spokeswoman said, "we have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney's office for months — we have and will continue to cooperate on all inquiries with any interested authorities."

Okay first off how come I did not know that the Justice Department was investigating Fox News? 

I mean I knew about all of the allegations of sexual harassment, and now racism, but this is a goddamn fraud investigation.

I cannot imagine how this one slipped under the radar.

So now not only are those working for Donald Trump being investigated by the Feds, but even the conservative news outlets spewing propaganda for Donald Trump are being investigated by the Feds.

Now I have to go out and buy an even bigger bag of popcorn, cause it looks like Fox News is about to take center stage in the "Karma comes to kick the shit out of Right Wing news outlets" category.

As part of the investigation into Russian interference in the last election the Feds are also targeting Right Wing news outlets.

Federal investigators are examining whether far-right news sites played any role last year in a Russian cyber operation that dramatically widened the reach of news stories — some fictional — that favored Donald Trump’s presidential bid, two people familiar with the inquiry say. 

Operatives for Russia appear to have strategically timed the computer commands, known as “bots,” to blitz social media with links to the pro-Trump stories at times when the billionaire businessman was on the defensive in his race against Democrat Hillary Clinton, these sources said. 

The bots’ end products were largely millions of Twitter and Facebook posts carrying links to stories on conservative internet sites such as Breitbart News and InfoWars, as well as on the Kremlin-backed RT News and Sputnik News, the sources said. Some of the stories were false or mixed fact and fiction, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the bot attacks are part of an FBI-led investigation into a multifaceted Russian operation to influence last year’s elections. 

Investigators examining the bot attacks are exploring whether the far-right news operations took any actions to assist Russia’s operatives.

When Alex Jones of Info Wars found about the investigation he had this to say:

“I’m not gonna sit here and say, ‘I’m not a Russian stooge,’ because it’s a (expletive) lie,” he said, denying any contact with the Kremlin operatives about bots. He said this issue stemmed from “this whole ridiculous narrative of the bitching left.” 

“It’s as if we didn’t build InfoWars,” he said. “It’s as if we don’t have a huge audience.” 

Noting he had appeared on RT “probably 100 times or more,” he said sarcastically, “There’s my Russian connection.” 

Oh I can hardly wait to see transcripts of HIS interviews!

There is really only ONE appropriate response to hearing that the Feds are investigating Right Wing news outlets for spreading Russian propaganda.

Don Young helps launch the "House Cannabis Caucus" that is focused on keeping the federal government from interfering in state pro-marijuana laws.

Alaska's sole congressman, Don Young, on Thursday co-launched the House Cannabis Caucus with three other lawmakers, vowing to pursue changes to banking and other federal laws that stand between states and autonomy over the marijuana industry. 

Young joined with Reps. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., and Jared Polis, D-Colo., to say they formed the coalition to focus on advancing legislation to put managing marijuana squarely in the hands of states. 

Alaska, Oregon, Colorado and California are among the eight states and the District of Columbia that have legalized marijuana for adult recreational use. Forty-four states have legalized varying forms of medicinal marijuana. 

Young said he helped launch the caucus as a conservative Republican who believes deeply in states' rights. 

"Alaska voted to legalize it — pretty large margin — and I believe in states' rights and the federal government should stay out of it, period," he said Thursday.

Gee, just when you think you know a guy.

I have to admit that I would have pegged Don Young as the LAST guy to defend Alaska's pot legalization laws.

However that seems to be because I was not paying attention to his pro-marijuana bills from the past.

Damn it finally happened. I am actually in agreement with Don Young.

The original Trump tramp Sarah Palin calls Carrier deal "crony capitalism." Uh oh, somebody got their fee fees hurt.

Gov. Sarah Palin, who is being considered for a cabinet position in the Trump administration -- is raising alarm over president-elect's recently announced deal with Carrier, suggesting in an op-ed it could amount to "crony capitalism." 

"When government steps in arbitrarily with individual subsidies, favoring one business over others, it sets inconsistent, unfair, illogical precedent," Palin wrote in a 'Young Conservatives' op-ed. "Republicans oppose this, remember? Instead, we support competition on a level playing field, remember? Because we know special interest crony capitalism is one big fail."

Uh oh, she used the "C" word, and the other "C" word.

Methinks somebody is NOT getting a cabinet position.

Wait, there's more: 

"Foundational to our exceptional nation’s sacred private property rights, a business must have freedom to locate where it wishes," Palin said. "In a free market, if a business makes a mistake (including a marketing mistake that perhaps Carrier executives made), threatening to move elsewhere claiming efficiency’s sake, then the market’s invisible hand punishes." 

Palin goes so far to point out that such government intervention sets an "illogical precedent" of a corporate welfare system she labels as "a hallmark of corruption. And socialism." 

"However well meaning, burdensome federal government imposition is never the solution. Never. Not in our homes, not in our schools, not in churches, not in businesses," she added. 

"Gotta’ have faith the Trump team knows all this."

That last part is Palin speak for "Goddammit, why don't you know this?"

In her ghostwritten op-ed Palin compares this bullshit deal of Trump's with Obama's deal with Solyndra, which is a favorite conservative pinata, even though it is one failure among a number of successful renewable energy incentives.

Palin's disdain for all government incentives is summed up in this paragraph:

However well meaning, burdensome federal government imposition is never the solution. Never. Not in our homes, not in our schools, not in churches, not in businesses.

While I certainly don't agree with Palin that all attempts by the government to support or even rescue certain businesses are a bad idea, I do agree that if this Carrier deal is any indication as to how Trump will approach trying to "Make America great again," that he will in fact do quite the opposite.

The REAL question here is what suddenly caused Donald Trump's most ardent cheerleader, a woman who ignored the mocking of a disabled reporter, pretended not to notice the "grab them by the pussy" comments, and was not allowed to go on stage the night of his acceptance speech, suddenly turn on her favorite tangerine colored fuhrer?

Well if I had to venture a guess I would suggest that whatever behind the scenes deal she first made with Trump back in the day, has now been denied to her.

Let's face it Palin does NOT offer her support without a little something in it for her, and considering how aggressively she has been pimping Trump that something must have been substantial.

It was pretty clear that she really wanted this VA job, so perhaps she now knows she is no longer in the running. Or perhaps she just learned that Ivanka will be the First Lady instead of her. Or that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the new star of "The Apprentice."

Well whatever it is, she is clearly off the reservation.

The only question to ask now is whether Trump cares enough to throw her a bone to keep her happy, or has she served her purpose is no longer of any use to him?

The domestic terrorists who took over the wildlife refuge in Oregon are totally pissy that they might be on a terrorist watch list.

Some Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupiers appear to have jumped from one conflict with the federal government straight into another: At least three claim to now be in a federal database of known or suspected terrorists. 

Jason Blomgren, 42, Jon Ritzheimer, 33, and Jeff Banta, 47, believe they're on the terrorist watch list, created in the wake of the 9/11 attacks to track people who could be a threat to national security. 

All three said federal airport agents have pulled them out of regular screening lines to pat them down and question them when they've tried to fly. Ritzheimer also said he got extra scrutiny when police stopped him for a minor traffic accident. 

They said their boarding passes get marked with "SSSS," widely acknowledged among civil rights attorneys as the U.S. Transportation Safety Administration's notice to give somebody special screening at the airport. Any law enforcement official checking Blomgren's criminal history could see a warning to approach him with caution because he may be a member of a terrorist organization.

What the hell is this country coming to when armed men can't take over a government facility without finding themselves labeled as terrorists and treated as if they might be dangerous? 

But hey, I think that these pinheads can look forward to some good news on that front.

I have a feeling that the Trump Administration is going to turn a blind eye to any domestic terrorism without links to Islam.

I imagine that the new motto for law enforcement when it comes to terrorism will be, "If they brown, take cover on the ground. But if they white, they alright."

Yep good news for them, not such goods news for all of us.

Oregon standoff protesters found not guilty.

A jury has found that brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy were not guilty of conspiring against the government, a surprising end to the high-profile Oregon standoff trial that sparked national debates about public lands and the rights of ranchers in the American west. 

The decision, unveiled in federal court in Portland on Thursday, is a blow to the US government, which had aggressively prosecuted the rightwing activists who led an armed takeover of public property to protest American land-use regulations. 

The Bundy brothers, who orchestrated a 2 January takeover of the Malheur national wildlife refuge, were acquitted on a number of serious charges, along with five other defendants. Only a day earlier the court dismissed a juror over fears of bias, raising concerns that the trial would drag on for weeks. 

“We are just so excited,” Angie Bundy, Ryan’s wife, told the Guardian after the verdict was announced. “We’ve been praying hard, and we knew they hadn’t done anything wrong.” 

They illegally took over a federal building, damaged government property, and threatened violence against law enforcement, and they just get to walk?

The whole case was a like a circus side show from the start with all kinds of bizarre demands from the Bundy boys, including asking to be paid a million dollars for being a defendant, and a request for the return of their guns, not to mention that at one point Ryan Bundy tried to break out of prison.

In fact even the end of this trial was insane.

At one point the defendants attorney was tackled to the ground and tazed, for reasons that remain a little unclear.

Ultimately I see this as setting a really bad precedent that is only going to encourage more of these sovereign citizen types to stage protests and take up arms against the federal government, and that can only lead to more people being killed.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decide to step in stop Alaskans from slaughtering all of the damn animals.

Alaska has long allowed authorities and hunters to kill bears and wolves on national wildlife refuges as part of what it called an “intensive predator management” program. Approved methods included shooting wolves and their pups in dens, using bait to hunt bears, killing mother bears with their cubs — and one made famous by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin: gunning down wildlife from helicopters. 

That’s now about to change. In defiance of several Alaska officials, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved regulations that ban nearly all predator hunting on national wildlife refuges that is not approved by the federal government and “based on sound science and in response to a conservation concern.” The new regs specifically prohibit hunting bear cubs as well as bear hunting using traps, snares or helicopters, among other methods. 

Alaska’s predator hunting has been a flash point in a growing battle between state and federal officials over who has authority over federal lands. Alaska officials, who criticized the ban as federal overreach, say their program increases moose and caribou populations that attract hunters and serve as a food source for rural Alaskans. But in a column for the Huffington Post on Wednesday, Fish and Wildlife Director Dan Ashe denounced it as unethical and based on flawed science about predator-prey relationships. 

“Over the past several years, the Alaska Board of Game has unleashed a withering attack on bears and wolves that is wholly at odds with America’s long tradition of ethical, sportsmanlike, fair-chase hunting,” Ashe wrote. “We have a long history of cooperative management with the states, including Alaska, and we have deep respect and admiration for our state agency professional colleagues. But there comes a time when the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service must stand up for the authorities and principles that underpin our work and say ‘no.’”

You know we have been mismanaging our wildlife for a long time, and favoring trophy hunters over the welfare of our indigenous animals for far too long.

We have also received warning after warning from biologists and we have ignored them all.

So I certainly do not blame the feds for stepping in.

However ultimately it will only serve to create even more anger and hostility toward the federal government from some of our sovereign citizen types who unfortunately populate a whole lot of the voting precincts not contained within the Anchorage area.

In other words watch for more crazies to be sent to Juneau from places like Wasilla, Fairbanks, and Ketchikan.

Ryan Bundy wants the federal government to pay him a million dollars for being a defendant, or inmate. No, I'm NOT kidding.

In bizarre court documents filed Tuesday, Ryan Bundy declared himself sovereign from state and federal government and wanted to be paid $1 million to accept “the role” of defendant or inmate. 

Bundy, the brother of co-defendant Ammon Bundy in the case of the takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, is acting as his own attorney. The federal court filings were submitted by his court-appointed legal assistant. 

Ryan Bundy said he does not accept the role as defendant or inmate without fair and just compensation of $1 million. He also said he is willing to play the “role” of “judge” or “bailiff” for $1 million.

He also demanded $100 million if he has to face a judge for the conspiracy matter related to the takeover and occupation of the federal facility.

Okay so how long was that car parked on his face again?

Sarah Palin seems inordinately concerned with how much the federal government spends on UN "activities." Can you spell Illuminati?

It should be pointed out that the vehicles in Virginia were actually being transported and not driven.

There was a response to the Facebook post about this sighting which read, "30 United Nations vehicles, fully loaded with combat-prepared troops, were driving down our highway in Dallas, Texas."

Well hell, a Facebook post from a Texan about the UN invading America, what could be more reliable than that?

Palin followed all of this up by writing:  

Congress also has a responsibility to oversee the Administration's unexplained actions. There's truly no need for our government to keep citizens in the dark about expenditures like these. We're seeking answers.

And then she links to yet another article from a far Right Wing news source which reports that the amount of money non-military federal agencies, which it labels "bureaucrats,"  spend on arms and ammunition is now more than our armed forces spend.

I read through the report and it includes such "bureaucrats" as the FBI, Fish and Game, US Customs and Border Control, the Coast Guard, the US Secret Service, and a number of other agencies which seem to spend money on security forces for their employees, which include the IRS, Bureau of Land Management, and the United States Mint.

It seems fairly obvious that the point of this Facebook post is to suggest that while the Democrats are seeking to limit access to military style weapons by every day Americans, the federal government is arming their people to the teeth.

Now if you are a reasonable person you would probably assume that the increased spending on arms and ammunition by the Feds is likely in response to the increased number of military style weapons in the hands of 2nd Amendment advocates who loudly proclaim that they need them to keep the government "in check." (Just look to the Bundy ranch standoff as an example of the increased danger some of these federal agents now face.)

However if you are a Sarah Palin, or another unhinged conspiracy theorist, it is clear that the federal government is trying to take away our guns so that they can work together with the UN to herd us all into FEMA camps and then start gassing us like the Nazis did in Auschwitz.

Now the truly concerning part in all of this, aside from the fact that Sarah Palin has clearly lost her shit, is that I strongly suspect that current Republican candidate Donald Trump also gets his news from some of the same sources referenced in this post. (Where else do you think he got the idea that President Obama was born in Kenya?)

And that means that these unhinged, batshit crazy, conspiracy theories are now entering the mainstream of American thought, and if Trump were to be elected, possibly inform actual American policy moving forward.

If that does not give you a case of the tremors then you my friend are not paying attention. 

North Carolina sues the Federal government for interfering with their fear mongering over transgenders.

North Carolina casts its so-called bathroom bill as a "common sense bodily privacy law." The federal government calls it discrimination, pure and simple. 

The two will face off in federal court in North Carolina after two of the state's top officials Monday sued the U.S. Justice Department, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and one of her assistants. 

The lawsuit calls last week's demand that the state "remedy" its Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act by Monday or risk being in violation of federal law "a baseless and blatant overreach." 

The act bans individuals from using public bathrooms that do not correspond with their biological sex, as dictated by their birth certificates.

"Goddamn it Federal Government we don't care WHAT century it is we want to discriminate against people not like us as is our right according to a very loose translation our Bibles! Stop stopping us!"

You know first they made them let black people use their whites only restrooms and now they want these people to have human rights as well. When oh when will it ever stop?

During court appearance Cliven Bundy refuses to recognize the authority of the federal government. Oh yeah, he's never getting out of jail.

Jailed Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy refused Thursday to acknowledge federal authority and declined to enter a plea to federal charges that he led an armed standoff against a round-up of cattle two years ago. 

After several minutes of confusion about whether Bundy had a lawyer, U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl Hoffman entered a not guilty plea on Bundy's behalf and scheduled a detention hearing March 17. 

Arguments then will focus on whether the 69-year-old Bundy should remain in custody pending trial on 16 charges, including conspiracy, assault and threatening a federal officer, obstruction and firearms offenses. 

It could be many months before trial. Federal prosecutor Steven Myhre told the judge the case involving 19 defendants would be slow-tracked as "complex."

You gotta love these sovereign citizen types who seem to believe that since they don't believe that federal laws have any validity they can simply pretend that they don't have to obey them.

I wonder how somebody sitting in a jail cell is still able to convince themselves that the Feds have no control over their lives?

Later on the sidewalk outside of the courtroom Bundy's interim attorney had this to say:

"Mr. Bundy feels like he needs to stand up for the rights of all Americans in all states, and for the states to be the owner of public land and not the federal government," Hansen said outside court. "In the West, the government owns most of the land. He thinks that's wrong."

Okay first off Bundy is certainly not standing up for THIS American.

And secondly what a stupid cause to throw your life away over.

This is not a civil rights issue, or even a stand against government intervention. This is a guy pissed off that his cows cannot eat grass and shit on government property.

Feds arrest co-chair of Donald Trump's veteran coalition for participation in Bundy standoff.

Federal authorities on Thursday arrested a New Hampshire man for his role in a standoff by Nevada ranchers opposed to federal control of public lands. 

Gerald DeLemus, of Rochester, was named in an indictment in Nevada as a “mid-level leader” and organizer of a conspiracy to recruit, organize, train and provide support to armed men and other followers of rancher Cliven Bundy. 

DeLemus, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and tea party activist, last year signed on as a member of presidential candidate Donald Trump’s New Hampshire veterans coalition. A July news release posted on Trump’s website listed DeLemus as a co-chair.

What? You mean people associated with the Donald Trump campaign are in trouble with the law?

Who could have predicted such a thing?

DeLemus was not the only person caught in the FBI's net. They also indicted and arrested thirteen others: 

A superseding criminal indictment was returned by the grand jury on Wednesday, March 2, and now charges a total of 19 defendants. The 14 new defendants are Melvin D. Bundy, 41, of Round Mountain, Nev., David H. Bundy, 39, of Delta, Utah, Brian D. Cavalier, 44, of Bunkerville, Nev., Blaine Cooper, 36, of Humboldt, Ariz., Gerald A. DeLemus, 61, of Rochester, N.H., Eric J. Parker, 32, of Hailey, Idaho, O. Scott Drexler, 44, of Challis, Idaho, Richard R. Lovelien, 52, of Westville, Okla., Steven A. Stewart, 36, of Hailey, Idaho, Todd C. Engel, 48, of Boundary County, Idaho, Gregory P. Burleson, 52, of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph D. O’Shaughnessy, 43, of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Micah L. McGuire, 31, and Jason D. Woods, 30, both of Chandler, Ariz. 

Twelve defendants were arrested earlier today. Two defendants, Brian D. Cavalier and Blaine Cooper, were already in federal custody in the District of Oregon. 

“These indictments and subsequent arrests send an irrefutable message to the American people that our determination remains steadfast to protect them and pursue individuals who participate in violent acts of this nature,” said Special Agent in Charge Bucheit.

Wow, look at all the Bundy's. I wonder if there are any Bundy family members NOT in jail?

Gee what kind of country are we becoming when a man cannot gather a small army of heavily armed idiots to engage the federal government in a standoff?

One of the former Oregon protesters files claim against feds of $666,666,666,666.66 for damages she suffered from "works of the devil."

Shawna Cox, one of Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupiers facing federal charges, has filed a court document claiming federal damages from the works of the devil for $666,666,666,666.66. (Oh, well that seems like a reasonable amount.)

The document was filed in US District Court Wednesday, and quickly tossed by a judge who said Cox's claims were "not cognizable in this criminal proceeding and will not be addressed in this case."

The document also accuses the Feds of trying to execute her and the other occupiers.

Well damn, I guess they DO suck at their job then don't they?

Cox also claimed that the Malheur Wildlife Refuge federal employees did not refuse to show up for work out of fear of being shot, but rather because they felt guilty.

I don't know what they are supposed to feel guilty about but it apparently makes sense to this lunatic, but sadly for her not to the judge.
