This is something that the pro-choice folks should be talking about constantly.

Studies have proven that good sex education and access to birth control prevents far more abortions than any draconian anti-abortion laws passed by Republicans ever could.

I think this is an appropriate comic for the times.

Someday we may look back and thank a bunch of high school kids for dramatically lowering the number of gun deaths in this country.

And that both makes me sad for our generation, and hopeful for what the country will look like when we are no longer in power.

I imagine in Trump's mind he believes he will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents ever.

But I know that history has other ideas.

Just the fact that he has to be mentioned in the history books at all should serve as a lesson to future generations, about the fragility of American democracy.

The problem with climate change denying in the wake of devastating hurricanes.

As the US comes to terms with its second major weather disaster within a month, an important question is whether the devastation caused by hurricanes Harvey and Irma will convince Donald Trump and his administration of the reality of climate change. 

The president’s luxurious Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida may escape Irma’s wrath, but with the deaths of so many Americans, and billions of dollars in damage to homes and businesses, the costs of climate change denial are beginning to pile up at the door of the White House. 

Just days before Harvey formed in the Atlantic last month, Trump signed an executive order to overturn a policy, introduced by his predecessor Barack Obama, to help American communities and businesses become more resilient against the risks of flooding, which are rising because of climate change. 

But the merciless assault on the US mainland by Harvey and Irma should be forcing the president to recognise the consequences of his arrogance and complacency in dismissing the research and analysis carried out by scientists. 

The flooded streets of Houston and the wind-ravaged homes of south Florida bear the unmistakable fingerprint of extreme weather made worse by manmade greenhouse gas emissions.

I don't have a lot of confidence that Trump will suddenly see the light,  especially while the head of his EPA is suggesting that talking about climate change is "insensitive" to the victims of the storms, however it should instruct voters that they need to prioritize candidates who understand and respect science to offset the shitgibbon wiping poop all over the country's environmental protections.

Now who's the anchor baby?

You know all partisanship aside the Republicans are really going to have to decide, and decide soon, to cut Donald Trump loose for the sake of the party.

There is literally NO indication that Trump is going to stay off Twitter and quit shooting himself in the foot.

The guy is on a suicide mission and he has every intention of taking everybody down with him.

However speaking as a partisan, "Don't you Righties let some latte sipping, granola munching, left wing tree hugger tell you to stop supporting YOUR president. You hang in there until the bitter end. Because if you don't we will all know you are a bunch of pussies, and will mock you behind your backs."

And still they'll keep on supporting him.

It really is like America has elected a comic book villain to their our president.

So where are the heroes to defeat him?

Just the other day I was thinking that if I were to attempt tr write the craziest, most outlandish, most impossible scenario for a political drama of comedy I could never even come close to what is actually happening right now in 2016.

After all when you are insecure and trying to compensate, these are precisely the kinds of behaviors we would expect from you.

That and constructing giant phallic building with your name on them.

You know the truly sad thing is that many of his supporters would display these with pride.

Thou shall have no gods before me.

And to this god we sacrifice hundreds, if not thousands, of our people every year.

Yeah don't you hate it when that happens?

And as Salon points out there are others deserving of blame as well: 

Partisans on the right can pretend the motivation for the killing spree will remain an eternal mystery. But a plausible link obviously exists. As does a plausible link between blood-soaked verbal attacks against Planned Parenthood and the possibility they inspire people to commit violent, and even deadly, acts.

 “When Bill O’Reilly compares Planned Parenthood to Nazis,” wrote Michelle Goldberg at Slate, “we shouldn’t be surprised that some people conclude that taking up arms against it is permissible.”

The really troubling part is that they are unlikely to stop, and this is unlikely to be the last murderous rampage as a result.
