So do all Trump supporters secretly want to bang their daughters? Because that might explain some things.

So that was posted by Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's lawyer.

I assume I do not have to point out just how creepy that is.

However some on Cohen's Twitter feed took it upon themselves to do just that.
This put Cohen on the defensive, and he tweeted a response.
Okay well I just threw up in my mouth a little.

There were a couple more exchanges with Cohen becoming increasingly angry and defensive.

Of course the immediate thing that jumps to mind is Donald Trump's ultra creepy relationship with his own daughter.

But I also thought about those bizarre purity balls where conservative Christian dads dress up their daughters in slinky gowns and parade them around in front of other dads, as if to say "Look how fuckable MY daughter is."

Now if you will excuse me, I have to shower. Until the hot water runs out completely.

Barack Obama, great President? Perhaps. But greatest dad ever? Definitely!

Courtesy of LA Times:

President Obama says he plans to stay in Washington after the end of his presidency so that his younger daughter can finish high school with her class, a rare disclosure about his family's personal plans.

During a visit with voters in Milwaukee on Thursday, Obama said he wasn't sure where he and wife Michelle Obama would settle down for the long term, but added that they were putting off the decision until daughter Sasha finished at Washington's Sidwell Friends School in spring 2019.

"Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough," Obama told a group of people gathered to have lunch with him at a Milwaukee restaurant.

I am sometimes impressed by gifted politicians, but great parents are the people I admire the most.

And my admiration for President Obama just went through the roof.

What the hell MetLife?

Okay as a one time single father, who had to scrape to make ends meet, I am especially vulnerable to this kind of thing.

Hit me right in the feels. Hard!

Whatever happened to Snoopy? At least that made me laugh.

Parenting like a boss.

Hopefully somewhere there is a father, or mother, telling their little boy how to respect women and helping him grow up to be the kind of man that this little girl deserves.

GOP staffer who criticized Obama daughters to resign.

Courtesy of MSNBC:

A GOP staffer has been forced to resign after launching a verbal assault on Malia and Sasha Obama in the wake of their appearance at their father’s annual turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House.

Elizabeth Lauten, who served as a communications director for Rep. Stephen Fincher, criticized the two girls in a Facebook rant which eventually went viral. “Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar. And certainly don’t make faces during televised, public events,” wrote Lauten.

She went on the call the first children, who largely stay out of the limelight, “classless.”

Many have argued Malia and Sasha were behaving like typical teenagers at the event. They appeared unamused by President Obama’s corny jokes and at one point Malia declined to pet the Thanksgiving turkey by simply saying, “Nah.”

This is far from the first time the president’s daughters have been singled out for ridicule on the right.

I think we all knew this was coming.

Especially with so much pressure coming from all corners to fire her.

Communications Director for Tennessee Congressman trashes the First Daughters. Immediately regrets that decision.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

A staffer for Republican Rep. Stephen Fincher (TN) took to Facebook this week to attack Sasha and Malia Obama, President Barack Obama’s daughters, for failing to show what she deemed to be sufficient respect for their father’s annual pardoning of a Thanksgiving turkey.

According to Gawker, Elizabeth Lauten, former new media political director for the Republican National Committee, wrote an open letter to the two girls, attacking their facial expressions and clothing choices.

“Dear Sasha and Malia,” wrote Lauten, “I get that you’re both in those awful teen years, but you’re part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part that you play. Then again your mother and father don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up a little short in the ‘good role model’ department.”

She continued, “Nevertheless, stretch yourself, rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar. And certainly don’t make faces during televised, public events.”

For the pardoning ceremony, elder daughter Malia wore a long-sleeved sweater, a plaid schoolgirl skirt and opaque tights. Sasha Obama wore a mini-dress that hit her at mid-thigh with a long-sleeved cardigan sweater.

Both girls rolled their eyes when their father made a joke, as teen girls typically do when their father says something he thinks is funny.

Seriously?  Lecturing the Obama girls for acting their age?

That seems like a REALLY bad idea.

And guess what, it was:

Nine hours after her initial post, Lauten had a change of heart or, more likely, her boss called and flipped on her, or she was tired of getting cursed out on social media. In any case, she removed the initial post and apologized, also via Facebook:

"I wanted to take a moment and apologize for a post I made on Facebook earlier today, judging Sasha and Malia Obama at the annual White House turkey pardoning ceremony.

… I reacted to an article and quickly judged the two young ladies in a way that I would never have wanted to be judged myself as a teenager. After many hours of prayer, talking to my parents and re-reading my words online, I can see more clearly how hurtful my words were. Please know that these judgmental feelings truly have no pace in my heart. Furthermore, I’d like to apologize to all of those who I have hurt and offended with my words, and pledge to learn and grow (and I assure you I have) from this experience."

Gee I had no idea that daughters of Presidents were held to such high standards.

I wonder what Ms. Lauten would have had to say about this?

Or about the antics of a daughter from a certain famous half term Governor from Alaska?

Kind of makes folded arms and an eye roll seem sort of innocuous, don't you think?

Sometimes fathers are brilliant.

When I think of all of the times I struggled to get my daughter's hair in a tight ponytail that was not crooked it makes me want to kick myself for not thinking of this myself.

I did once suggest introducing a power washer into the diaper changing room but the horrified looks I received let me know that I was a visionary way ahead of my time.

Purity balls, where young girls "gift" their virginity to their fathers until marriage. Just as creepy as it sounds.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

Purity balls, in which a girl pledges to remain ‘pure’ until her wedding day, symbolically ‘marries’ God, and promises her father that she will remain a virgin until she's a wife, have become a phenomenon in America, now taking place in 48 out of the 50 states.

The balls resemble giant wedding ceremonies, with the girls - all around the age of 12 - wearing white gowns and dancing with their fathers who promise to ‘protect’ their daughter’s chastity.

During the ceremony, fathers present their daughters with purity rings, which they wear to symbolise their commitment to virginity.

In the movement purity means no sexual contact of any kind, including kisses, until after marriage.

One of the largest father-faughter purity balls - which is the subject of a Nightline Prime investigation - has been held for 14 consecutive years in Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. The event sees upwards of 60 fathers pledging to ‘protect their daughter’s choices for purity'.

Fathers taking part are expected to sign a ‘purity covenant’ in which they, as ‘High Priest of their home and family’ pledge ‘before God to cover my daughter as her authority and protection in the area of purity.’

The daughters silently commit to live pure lives before God through the symbol of laying down a white rose at the cross, before engaging in a wedding-type dance with their father.

"You're married to the Lord, and your father is your boyfriend." Holy crap that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up.

This idea of virginity being some sacred entity which must be protected at all cost, and that the loss of it stains a woman's virtue beyond repair, is based on primitive concepts and has no real value in this day and age.

As a father we should be prepared to defend our daughters against ne'er do wells, give them good advice about sex, and comfort when their hearts get broken, but we should NOT be constantly involved in their sex life of dictating when and with whom that can begin.

So creepy!

Evangelical minister says he will teach his sons to be independent but teach his daughters the exact opposite.

Courtesy of the Friendly Atheist:

My children are gonna be taught to not commit fornication [before marriage] and that it is not acceptable and that it is a very major sin and that there will be very major consequences if they commit it.

Now, I’m gonna teach that unto my sons because I think it’s so important that they remain pure and that they keep their virginity until they get married…

I say I’ll teach that unto my sons and you say, well, aren’t you gonna teach that to your daughters? I’m gonna tell you this: It’s not gonna be humanly possible for anyone to commit fornication with my daughters. [Laughter] And you know what? You’re laughing but I’m not kidding… You say, what about when they go get a job? Well, they’re not going to get a job. Why would my daughters go get a job? What do they need a job for? You know what, I’m gonna pay for them, I’m gonna pay their bills. And you know what? When I’m done paying for them, their husband’s gonna pay for them. And I hope that he doesn’t fail in his responsibility to provide and send them off to work or something, but you know what, at that point, it’s none of my business. At that point, it’s not my responsibility. But you know what? When I pass off my daughters unto their husband, I’m gonna be able to guarantee that they’re a virgin because I’m gonna make it to where it’s not even humanly possible. Because I’m not gonna have them out gallivanting around town. I’m not gonna have them going off to work, and going out with all these people…

And you say, what if you don’t like the guy they’re dating? They’re not gonna be dating a guy that I don’t like. A guy that I don’t like is gonna get his face punched in. [Laughter]
…

And you say, well why the double standard? Um, ’cause everything in the Bible’s a double standard?! ‘Cause I’m not a feminist?! ‘Cause men and women are different? ‘Cause my sons are gonna be taught to be independent. My daughters are gonna be taught not to be independent. [Fake crying noises] My sons are gonna be taught to go out and work hard and make a living! My daughters are gonna be taught to be a homemaker, okay? You don’t like that? Well, whatever, that’s what the Bible teaches…

Man is THIS guy in for a rude awakening!

The idea that shear force of will he can keep his daughter from dropping her panties for the first guy that manages to separate her from her parents is the kind of confidence that comes from arrogance and naivete.

And let's not even mention how repulsive it is that this guy places all of his daughter's value on her continued virginal "purity." Perhaps somebody should clue this guy into the fact that he is living in the 21st century.

Louis C.K. has an interesting, and humorous, take on Father hood. Seemed appropriate for today.

I cannot say that I share too many of Louis's trepidations about being a parent, but I do share the fact that on some days I could certainly do a better job at it.

And yes, when you become a REAL father and not simply your wife's assistant, you become a much better parent. Sadly I was forced to do that after a divorce, but I have confidence that married men can do that as well.

They just have to want to.

Do you think you are done shopping for your daughter this Christmas? Perhaps not.

I think this is a marvelous idea, and so late in coming.

My daughter truly disliked the dollhouses, and Barbie's my mother gave her as gifts, but after I bought her Star Wars figures and Lego's she would not stop playing with them. In fact THAT fueled her desire to create set designs, and to make movies, which is what she does now.

I think we now realize that teaching little girls to be princesses, housewives, and mommies is outdated. But a present that teaches them that they can be ANYTHING, now that is a gift worth giving.

It was "Take our Daughters, and Sons, to Work Day" today. Even in the White House.

Hmm, it definitely looks like the President is not the ONLY Obama who has a gift with children.

I remember that back when this day was first created, my daughter was told about it at school and wanted to come with me to my job.

At the time I worked as a gymnastic coach, and also ran the after school child care program.

Suffice it to say that my daughter had the best time imaginable and declared as we were driving home that I had the BEST job in the world. I have to day I kind of agreed with her.

That was quite a few years ago now, but it still ranks as perhaps my favorite job ever.

For those of you have had not yet had your daily dose of adorable, here is video of the First lady welcoming the children to the White House and then sitting down to answer their questions.

Update: From Twitter.

It looks like the President still retains his title of the "Baby Whisperer."
