Elections have consequences.

Courtesy of Axios:

From 2015 to 2017, Pew Research tracked global confidence in the U.S. president "to do the right thing" regarding world affairs. While almost all the countries surveyed have lost confidence over the years, Russia's significant increase stands out — jumping from 11% in 2011 under Obama to 53% under Trump.

Other takeaways from the report: Merkel, Xi or Putin have more positive ratings globally than Trump. Arrogant was the most common word globally associated with Trump's characteristics. There is global disapproval across all of Trump's major policy proposals.

We have to keep reminding ourselves that this only took six months.

Though the data is from 2015 and 2017, I can guarantee that the numbers from 2016 would have lined up almost perfectly with the data from 2015.

That means that in only a six month period of time Donald Trump has completely trashed the reputation of the presidency of the United States.

I cannot even begin to imagine how much worse it will be in another six months.

Best Putin/Trump gif EVER!

I don't know who made it, it just showed up in my inbox, but damn this is perfect!

And it is now my go to gif.

Just a video I found of Hillary Clinton being a bad ass while her Secret Service detail tackles a protester.

I had never seen this before, and I found it on this Newsweek story about the Secret Service response to Trump being found unfit to hold office.

So I watched it several times and I was just really struck with how cool and calm Hillary was while this guy is getting taken down by her security staff during a campaign rally.

And that then reminded me of this clip from back in August.
Once again she is essentially unflappable.

Now compare both of those to this:

Quite a difference isn't it?

It takes a certain kind of person to be the leader of the free world. And clearly it is a person very unlike Donald Trump.

Now confirmed that Sarah Palin will definitely NOT be the ambassador to Canada.

Courtesy of the Globe and Mail:

The White House has assured Canada that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will not be appointed as U.S. ambassador to Canada.

A Trudeau government official says that assurance was provided to Canadian officials during Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to the White House on Monday.

“It isn’t Sarah Palin,” the official said.

American officials have not yet made a decision on an ambassador but were leaning to appointing someone who raised money for the Trump campaign.

I swear that it must be Sarah Palin who floats these rumors as an attempt to stay relevant since her Cheeto stained boyfriend unceremoniously dumped her in a gutter.

And then time after time when they don't pan out she just looks more and more pathetic.

Certainly had some of the Canadians a little worried though.

As one of the few people who actually had to suffer under Sarah Palin's leadership I cannot say that I blame our neighbors to the East.

However I have every confidence that WHOEVER Donald Trump inflicts upon Canada they will be able to handle just fine.

Just get a load of how easily their Prime Minister dealt with Trump's attempt to dominate their handshake.
Damn! Trudeau was not playing.

He looked like he was ready to body slam Trump if he tried any of his pussy grabbing tactics on him.

Here is how Trump typically uses handshakes to dominate others.

But fucking Trudeau was having none of it.

Smart man. Way too smart to ever allow Sarah Palin to take up residence in his country.

Donald Trump meets the pain train.

Immature? You bet. But did you secretly get a kick out of it? You know you did.

Being absorbed into the Trump/Borg collective may have broken Mike Pence.

Courtesy of New York Magazine:

When the human mind experiences great trauma, it will sometimes lapse into comforting delusions as a maladaptive means of self-protection. This appears to be what Mike Pence's mind has done after six days as Donald Trump's running mate.

In less than a week on the mogul's ticket, Pence has heard himself introduced to the song "You Can't Always Get What You Want," seen himself demeaned on national television, witnessed his party's convention derailed by an unfathomable plagiarism scandal, and had his RNC speech upstaged by a chaotic spectacle his campaign had every opportunity to avoid — all while having to continuously adapt himself to the whims of a volatile sociopath.

It seems these pressures have proven too much for the Indiana governor to bear. On Thursday morning, a visibly psychotic Pence went on Fox & Friends and described a "Donald Trump" and "Republican National Convention" that only he can see.

"What I hear from Donald Trump is that we’re going to stand strongly with our allies," Pence said Thursday, eyes wide and shimmering with madness.

You know when you get right down to it the only VP Trump could have picked, who would have survived the experience, is Sarah Palin.

After all she has been living in crazy town for many years now.

Here is my favorite Trump/Pence moment so far.

Sooo many shades of awkward.

My favorite gif of the day.

And that is how a hero is born:

This short clip has made Wiener a hero in his city. The response in San Francisco has been “overwhelmingly and enthusiastically positive. People are thrilled. There is such a deep seated frustration with Fox News and the fringe it represents,” Wiener said, saying he’d also received messages of support from around the country.

And do you know what? This country needs many more heroes just like Scott Wiener to call out Fox News for their bullshit every chance they get.

Sometimes fathers are brilliant.

When I think of all of the times I struggled to get my daughter's hair in a tight ponytail that was not crooked it makes me want to kick myself for not thinking of this myself.

I did once suggest introducing a power washer into the diaper changing room but the horrified looks I received let me know that I was a visionary way ahead of my time.

Driving evil out by hitting parishioners with your coat, you know because religion makes so much sense.

That's Benny Hinn, and that is only one of the absolutely ridiculous things he does not stage to convince ignorant people that he is channeling God's power.

Here is the video just in case you think this is made up.

Charlatans come in many different forms, and use numerous tricks to fleece their marks, but religion provides perhaps the best tool for taking money from the simple that was ever invented.

Final image (gif) of the day.

For those who are not aware, this is the man that stood up during the Mandela Memorial the other day, that was attended by dignitaries from around the world, including our current and two former Presidents, and provided sign language interpretation.

Except that he was apparently NOT a sign language interpreter, and clearly did NOT know sign language.

This from CNN:

To those outside the deaf community, the sign language interpreter for Nelson Mandela's memorial may have looked like he was working hard, translating the spoken words into gestures for four hours.

But he has been dubbed "a fake," and his actions outraged deaf people, according to an association for the deaf community in South Africa.

The service to commemorate the revered statesman, who died last week at the age of 95, was broadcast to millions of viewers around the world.

While dignitaries addressed the crowd Tuesday at Johannesburg's FNB stadium, the unidentified suited man with a security pass produced a series of hand signals that experts say meant nothing.

The Deaf Federation of South Africa (DeafSA) said the "interpreter" was not a recognized professional, nor was he known by the deaf community in the country.

"The so-called 'interpreter' who interpreted at the official memorial service for late former president Nelson Mandela at FNB stadium has been dubbed the 'fake interpreter' and the deaf community is in outrage," Bruno Druchen, national director of DeafSA, said in a statement.

"He is not known by the Deaf Community in South Africa nor by the South African Sign Language interpreters working in the field."

The man did not use facial expressions, which in South African sign language are an important part of communication, and the hand signals he used were meaningless, Druchen said.

"The signs (self-invented signs) the interpreter used are not used in South African Sign Language and it is a total mockery of the language," he said.

Okay at this point I am torn between very impressed that anybody had the balls to pull off such a daring prank, at such a  highly publicized event, and horrified that anybody could get that close to dignitaries without a background check and screening.

If this guy had been a terrorist this could have been a very bad situation indeed.

But as a prank, this guy has really set the bar to a new high.

However he had better steer well clear of the deaf community for awhile, because if they see his ass he might get a completely silent beat down, with an actual deaf interpreter standing nearby signing curses and insults in his direction.

The challenge of driving in Alaska.

To be honest I have never personally hit a bear with my car. And I have only seen one dart out into traffic when i was a kid.

I have seen far more moose, and had a few close call with them however.

Gotta admire that bear's gymnastics ability.

Steve Lonegan demonstrates his compassionate nature to his wife during concession speech.

"Bitch get off me!"
Courtesy of Happy Nice Time People:

Lonegan is just some poor sad schmuck. And this is how he treats his wife when she tries to comfort him during his concession speech

Wasn't it Tea Party pom pom girl Sarah Palin who stated that Lonegan was a lucky guy for having such "a strong New Jersey wife" who "supported him through this campaign?"

Yeah, well I guess now that he lost he can go back to treating her like shit.

Rick Santorum explaining the Republican strategy for dealing with the debt ceiling.

You know, that's kind of what I thought.

P.S. By the way, speaking of Rick Santorum, he has decided to one up Sarah Palin's Christmas book, by releasing his own Christmas movie

Just walk it off.

Have you ever laughed really hard at something while at the same time feeling really badly for doing it?

Well you have now.

My two favorite Stephens.

I don't know why, but this gif cracks me up every time.

I am a huge Stephen King fan and have read just about every singe one of his books. The ONLY book to absolutely terrify me was his book "Pet Semetary," which I finished reading under the covers with a flashlight. (I was in a relationship at the time and my girlfriend did not want me to have the light on all night. By the way, the WORST way to read a Stephen King novel is under the covers with a flashlight. Just so you know.)

As for Colbert, well you know, he's the man!
