Donald Trump knows he is going to lose these upcoming debates so he is already claiming they are biased against him.

It's unfair. They want to ask me questions. I don't know how to answer actual questions!
Courtesy of Yahoo:

Debate organizers are “gaming the system” with Democratic moderators who will savage him to spare themselves the kind of criticism Matt Lauer got for his moderation of NBC’s Commander-in-Chief Forum, Donald Trump tells FNC’s Bill O’Reilly tonight.

“What they are doing is they are gaming the system, like gaming the ref,” Trump told The O’Reilly Factor host as the GOP candidate continues his campaign to manage expectations for the upcoming debates with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. “They are also going after Lester. They’re trying to intimidate Lester and I think the world is going to be watching that…Lester is a professional, but we’ll see what happens.”

“By the way, Lester is a Democrat. It’s a phony system. They are all Democrats. It’s a very unfair system.”

“I’m not okay with Anderson Cooper, because I think he treats me very unfairly at CNN,” Trump said of the second debate moderator. He did not seem to have an opinion on ABC’s Martha Raddatz, who is co-moderating the second, town-hall style debate with Cooper.

Cooper, says Trump, is “very unfair on CNN. I think CNN – they call it the Clinton News Network. That’s why the ratings aren’t doing very well because who’s going to watch that?”

Fucking pansy ass.

He KNOWS Hillary is going to mop the floor with him so he is saying the game is rigged against him so that his pathetic follows, who don't trust the media anyhow, will buy into his bullshit about the "liberal" media favoring his opponent.

I don't think he was judged the winner after a single one of those Republican debates by the way.

He just went on Twitter afterward and said something ignorant so that the media would talk about that instead of the fact that he debates like a mentally handicapped middle school kid with Tourrette Syndrome.

Donald Trump does not want moderators at debates with Hillary Clinton. Oh yes he does.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

After speculating about Clinton’s health scare on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Trump said that a debate moderator would be “very unfair” to him. Trump argued that the proof of this was in the fact that Matt Lauer was criticized after he seemed to go easy on him on several major occasions during their interview at the Commander-in-Chief forum.

“I think maybe we should have no moderator. Let Hillary and I sit there and just debate, because I think the system is being rigged so it’s going to be a very unfair debate.”

While Trump continued to brag that he outperformed Clinton at the forum, he said the fallout proved that “they are gaming the system” against him.

“I think it’s very unfair what they are doing,” Trump said. “I think we should have a debate with no moderator, just Hillary and I sitting there talking.

I know that Trump is feeling fairly secure right now after Hillary's pneumonia diagnosis, but by the time of the first debate on the 26th I am pretty confident she will have recovered and Trump seriously does NOT want to face off against a fully functioning Hillary Clinton without referees in the room to occasionally pull her foot off of his throat.

Trump undoubtedly thinks that he can bully Clinton like he did his Republicans opponents, without those pesky moderators stopping him by calling him out for spewing fact less bullshit, but this woman deals with more BS than that before breakfast.

Essentially he wants a cage match with a Bengal tiger while having steaks strapped to his flabby orange ass.

You know now that I think about it, I kind of want that too.

The moderator for the presidential debates on Fox News says he will allow candidates to lie. Color me unsurprised.

Look I only play a journalist on Fox News, why would I be interested in the truth?
Courtesy of Think Progress:

For the first time, Fox News has been selected to moderate a presidential debate. The Presidential Debate Commission selected Chris Wallace, host of Fox News Sunday, to moderate the third presidential debate, scheduled for October 19 in Las Vegas.

Wallace appeared on Fox News’ Media Buzz to discuss what his selection meant to him personally and “what it means to Fox News.”

The host of the program, Howard Kurtz, asked Wallace, “What do you do if they make assertions that you know to be untrue?”

“That’s not my job,” Wallace replied, without skipping a beat. “It’s not my job to be a truth squad.”

I would assume that this is why the Republicans pushed so hard for a debate on Fox News.

Trump is going to get hammered during these debates and he wanted at least one place where he could lie with impunity and not be called on it. And after all isn't that why Fox News exists in the first place?

Let's face it the Fox News debate is probably the only one that the conservatives will bother to watch, so when they go to the polls in November their heads will be filled with Donald Trump lies and concerns over why Hillary Clinton looked so irritated by all of those Benghazi questions from Chris Wallace.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are each working hard to prepare for their upcoming debates. Well one of them is.

Courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times:

Hillary Clinton is methodically preparing for the presidential debates as a veteran lawyer would approach her biggest trial. She pores over briefing books thick with policy arcana and opposition research. She internalizes tips from the most seasoned debate coaches in her party. And she rehearses, over and over again, to perfect the pacing and substance of her presentation.

Donald Trump is taking a different approach. He summons his informal band of counselors — including former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, talk-radio host Laura Ingraham and ousted Fox News Channel chairman Roger Ailes — to his New Jersey golf course for Sunday chats. Over bacon cheeseburgers, hot dogs and glasses of Coca-Cola, they test out zingers and chew over ways to refine the Republican nominee's pitch.

Trump's aides have put together briefing books, not that the candidate is devoting much time to reading them. Trump is not holding any mock debates, proudly boasting that a performer with his talents does not need that sort of prepping. Should Trump submit to traditional rehearsals, some associates are talking about casting Ingraham, an adversarial chronicler of Clinton scandals, to play the Democratic nominee.

I think that in preparation for this debate Hillary should practice arguing with a middle school bully over which Saw movie is the least gay.

No that's not fair, the middle school bully will be far more reasonable.

I am not ashamed to admit that I am looking forward to this debate like a Trump supporter looks forward to their afternoon medications.

I can't decide if it will be more like Brad Pitt stabbing Eric Bana through the chest in Troy, or Sigourney Weaver flushing the xenomorph queen out into space in Aliens.  (You know I might be watching too many movies.)

All I know is that I have my popcorn and box wine all ready for the first debate on September 26th.

Hillary Clinton's debate prep includes weathering attacks about Monical Lewinsky, her e-mail server, and the death of Vince Foster. Donald Trump's preparation includes advice from that troll who used to run Fox News..

Courtesy of Politico:

It’s one of the most uncomfortable and important jobs in Democratic politics: trying to embarrass the woman who could be the next president.

The person picked to be Hillary Clinton's sparring partner in her upcoming debate prep sessions is expected to confront her about the death of Vincent Foster, label her as a rapist's enabler, and invoke the personally painful memories of Monica Lewinsky and Gennifer Flowers.

Clinton’s team is beginning its preparation ahead of the first general election debate scheduled for Sept. 26 at Hofstra University. And one of the key components of that prep, campaign allies said, is finding a person who can stand in as Donald Trump during mock debates and launch personal attacks on the former secretary of state that will make the real Trump look tame by comparison.

“It needs to be someone who is naturally smart, glib and utterly irreverent,” said Democratic strategist Bob Shrum, who oversaw debate prep for Al Gore. “You can’t learn to be utterly irreverent.”

When I first read this I thought that Hillary has already seen how low Trump can go, so she is probably already prepared. That is unless he has Beelzebub, the Prince of Darkness in his corner.

And then I read this:

Roger Ailes, the former Fox News chairman ousted last month over charges of sexual harassment, is advising Donald J. Trump as he begins to prepare for the all-important presidential debates this fall.

Mr. Ailes is aiding Mr. Trump’s team as it turns its attention to the first debate with Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, on Sept. 26 on Long Island, according to three people briefed on the move, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

Two of them said that Mr. Ailes’s role could extend beyond the debates, which Mr. Trump’s advisers see as crucial to vaulting him back into strong contention for the presidency after a series of self-inflicted wounds that have eroded his standing in public opinion polls.

So the man who would defeat the Clintons is being aided by the man who created an entire cable news outlet to do just that.

If I were Hillary I would use that against Trump, like so:

"So did that incredibly misogynistic and ugly question come from one of your many alter egos, John Miller of John Barron perhaps, or from that serial sexual abuser who is now advising you?"

I actually heard one of Trump's surrogates suggesting that Hillary will try to find some way out of these debates. But I disagree, I think she is chomping at the bit to rip this idiot a new asshole in front of the American people.

And I would imagine that no matter on which day or time it is scheduled that very few people are going to miss it.

I know I won't.

Hillary Clinton preemptively accepts debate schedule. So Donald Trump suggests that perhaps she should be assassinated.

Courtesy of CNN:

On Monday night, seemingly out of the blue, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta released a statement saying that Clinton "looks forward to participating in all three presidential debates" that are scheduled in September and October.

"The only issue now is whether Donald Trump is going to show up," Podesta added.

The statement wasn't a response to any new remark by Trump or any official invitation by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

In fact, the invites haven't gone out yet.

The Clinton campaign may be trying to put Trump on defense -- or pre-empt any more complaints from him about the debate schedule.

I think we all remember that Donald Trump started complaining that the debates were opposite two NFL games, which apparently are more important to Trump's demographic than watching two politicians argue with each other.

That got a lot of folks in the media talking about the possibility that Trump was trying to find a way to skip the debates and save himself from the embarrassment of having his ass handed to him by a woman.

Now with this move Clinton has boxed him in and if he tries to avoid the debates her campaign will simply accuse him of being afraid, and THAT is definitely something that he will not be able to handle.

In response to this news Donald Trump said this:

“I will absolutely do three debates,” Trump told TIME in a phone interview. “I want to debate very badly. But I have to see the conditions.”

I would imagine that the conditions would be that he be given the questions ahead of time, the allowing of note cards, and of course having duct tape placed over Hillary's mouth.

Because those are the only ways that Trump has any chance.

Oh well I guess he does have one other option.

Courtesy of CNN:

Donald Trump set off a fierce new controversy Tuesday with remarks about the right to bear arms that were interpreted by many as a threat of violence against Hillary Clinton.

"Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know," Trump said.

So, too much of a pussy to debate Hillary, and now he is calling for one of his supporters to gun her down.

Is it any wonder that the establishment Republicans are fleeing this candidate by the boatload?

As predicted Hillary Clinton officially declines invitation to Fox News debate. Because...you know...duh.

Courtesy of TPM:

Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton has reportedly declined to participate in the Fox News debate that her opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has agreed to.

"We have declined Fox News' invitation to participate in a debate in California. As we have said previously, we plan to compete hard in the remaining primary states, particularly California, while turning our attention to the threat a Donald Trump presidency poses," Clinton's spokeswoman, Jennifer Palmieri said in a statement to Bloomberg.

"We believe that Hillary Clinton's time is best spent campaigning and meeting directly with voters across California and preparing for a general election campaign that will ensure the White House remains in Democratic hands," Palmieri said in the statement.

Of course there are those who are going to argue that Hillary agreed to one more debate, but that was before she attained such an insurmountable lead against Sanders.

After all Hillary has won every debate they have had so far, and when you are in the ring and your opponent is down for the count it is unseemly to keep kicking on them.

And if the Sanders' folks thing that California is their firewall against a Clinton nomination, they might want to do the math again.

As for allegations that Clinton is too afraid to debate Sanders I direct you to Google the eleven hours of testimony during the Benghazi witch hunt.

Watch carefully and see if you can identify the moment where she was frightened.

Spoiler alert, it doesn't exist.

Donald Trump lays out what he will use against Hillary Clinton in the general election. Essentially everything.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Donald J. Trump plans to throw Bill Clinton’s infidelities in Hillary Clinton’s face on live television during the presidential debates this fall, questioning whether she enabled his behavior and sought to discredit the women involved.

Mr. Trump will try to hold her accountable for security lapses at the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and for the death of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens there.

And he intends to portray Mrs. Clinton as fundamentally corrupt, invoking everything from her cattle futures trades in the late 1970s to the federal investigation into her email practices as secretary of state.

Drawing on psychological warfare tactics that Mr. Trump used to defeat “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, “Little Marco” Rubio and “Low-Energy” Jeb Bush in the Republican primaries, the Trump campaign is mapping out character attacks on the Clintons to try to increase their negative poll ratings and bait them into making political mistakes, according to interviews with Mr. Trump and his advisers.

Not exactly unexpected, and on the plus side with Trump showing his cards so early it gives Hillary plenty of time to prepare.

However on the negative side we still have the disrupting influence of the Sanders' campaign to contend with,

So on the one hand we have every bit of oppositional research the conservatives have been compiling against Hillary, both real and imagined, for the last thirty plus years, combined with Bernie Sanders telling everybody who will listen that the Democratic party is as corrupt as the Republican party.

Donald Trump energizes the conservatives base, and Bernie Sanders disenfranchises the independents and young people.

I used to wonder just how the Republicans could possibly overcome their demographic problems in a general presidential election.

I guess now I have my answer.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders finally agree on date for New York debate. Sanders camp still not happy. Update!

Courtesy of NBC News:

Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have finally come to terms on where and when they will have one more debate before New York's Democratic primary.

It's going down in Brooklyn.

The DNC-sanctioned debate will be aired on CNN and NY1, a regional cable news outlet, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET on April 14 — five days before the New York primary.

There we go. After several weeks of grousing by the Sanders camp we finally have a date, so everybody should be happy.

Right?

Wrong.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

Afterward, Sanders' campaign spokesman, Michael Briggs, released an aggressively worded statement criticizing Clinton for making the Sanders campaign change a date for a rally that it was planning to hold on the same day.

Briggs wrote:

"Fortunately, we were able to move a major New York City rally scheduled for April 14 to the night before. We hope the debate will be worth the inconvenience for thousands of New Yorkers who were planning to attend our rally on Thursday but will have to change their schedules to accommodate Secretary Clinton's jam-packed, high-dollar, coast-to-coast schedule of fundraisers all over the country."

I'm sorry but since the large majority of Sanders supporters are young people still in college, exactly what plans do they have to change?

Speaking of Sanders' supporters get a load of what Barney Frank had to say about them recently:

Supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders are unrealistic about what the independent Vermont senator can achieve if elected president, former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) argued Monday.

“I think it is a lack of information, to be honest,” he said on “MSNBC Live with Jose Diaz-Balart” when asked why Sanders is resonating with voters.

“You have people, I believe, who do not understand how hard it is to make change. [It is] the importance of not just being idealistic, but being sensibly pragmatic and keeping their ideals. Sanders is getting their support.”

Frank said some of the voters who are frustrated with the Democratic establishment have unrealistic expectations about what a president can deliver.

“You have people who don’t understand, frankly, the nature of the American political system,” he said. "It’s the separation of powers.

This is the exact same argument I have with my daughter, who seems to think that Bernie Sanders is a Jewish version of Gandalf the Gray, with the power to wave his staff and simply change everything that he wants to change with some unspecified kind of magic.  (My daughter hates when I make this comparison by the way.)

She talks about free college, reforming Wall Street, and universal health care as policies that Bernie can put into place through sheer force of will, and with the support of everyday people with no ability to influence votes in the House or the Senate.

The reality is that winning this next election might be possible for either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, but Hillary wants to continue pushing forward policies put into place by President Obama, which is possible and perfectly reasonable, while Sanders wants to upend the table and start from scratch, and that is simply a non-starter.

Not only will Sanders face unrelenting opposition from the Right, but even Democrats in Congress will be wary of associating with him for fear of making themselves vulnerable in their bids for reelection.

Let's face it a Democrat in a purple state cannot afford to have a challenger with the ability to create ads showing them "palling around with a Socialist."

That label might not bother young folks today, and that is great news for our future, but it is the kiss of death in most Southern states and rural communities in this country.

Update: Okay I finally got around to reading this New York Daily News interview with Bernie Sanders.  I would suggest that any Sanders supporters do the same.

Pay close attention to his responses concerning Wall Street and "too big to fail" banks.

He literally has no idea what he is talking about.

Bernie Sanders presses Hillary to debate him in New York before the primaries. It does not appear that Hillary is interested however.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont challenged Hillary Clinton on Sunday to a debate in New York before the state’s primary on April 19 and expressed concern that Mrs. Clinton might not debate him now that she is far ahead in the race to win the Democratic nomination.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Mr. Sanders said he wanted to have a debate in “New York City, upstate, wherever, on the important issues facing New York and, in fact, the country.” The Democrats have held eight debates so far, the last one on March 9 in Miami, and the two campaigns pledged to hold an additional debate in April and another one in May before the final primaries in June.

Asked by Chuck Todd, the host, if he was worried that Mrs. Clinton would not debate him again, Mr. Sanders replied, “Yeah, I do have a little bit of concern about that. But I certainly would like to see a debate in New York State.”

When the New York Times reached out to the Clinton campaign they declined to comment.

However not all of her surrogates were so close mouthed.

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

Joel Benenson, the campaign's chief strategist, said on CNN Monday morning that Sanders needs to watch his tone, or else the Clinton campaign will pack up its ball and head home. "The real question is, what kind of campaign is Sen. Sanders going to run going forward?," Benenson said when asked about Sanders' request for a New York debate.

"Let's see the tone," Benenson continued when pressed about why Clinton was reluctant to debate. "This is a man who said he'd never run a negative ad, he's now running them, they're planning to run more, let's see the tone of the campaign he wants to run before we get to any other questions."

Benenson added, "Let's see if he goes back to the kind of tone he said he was going to set early on. If he does that, then we'll talk about debates."

I am of two minds on this.

On the one hand it is perfectly understandable that the candidate in the lead feels no need to engage in any further debates. If the Clinton campaign feels good about where they are, and their ability to win primaries moving forward, why rock the boat?

However refusing to debate in the state that Hillary represented in the Senate, makes her seem insecure about her ability to carry it on April 19th. And using the tone of the Sanders campaign as an excuse makes her seem weak and unprepared.

I think we all know that Donald Trump is going to unload with both barrels on the Democratic nominee, and up until now it seemed that Hillary was not only ready for that, but relishing the opportunity to go toe to toe with him.

Besides if her past debate performances are any indication she will come out of this one seeming even more presidential and capable than she did going in.

So yes I think that Hillary should debate Bernie.

And if she isn't going to she sure as hell needs a better reason than she does not like "the tone" of the Sanders campaign.

Saturday, February 06, 2016

Yes it's time for yet another GOP debate.

I actually missed the fact that this was on tonight until about six hours ago.

Probably a case of cognitive dissonance on my part.

So I have a handful of predictions for tonight, because those of us covering these events are supposed to do that sort of thing.

Mine are rather simple.

After missing the last debate Trump is going to go out of his way to make a mark tonight so that the people of New Hampshire have him on their minds when they caucus next week. So expect plenty of  Trumpisms and insults.

Speaking of insults Trump is also going to punish Ted Cruz like a naughty puppy for beating him in Iowa.

EVERYBODY is going to go after Marco Rubio. Especially Chris Christie and Jeb Bush.

Unfortunately nobody can go after Carly Fiorina because apparently she has now been sent to the back of the bus and will not be on stage with the fellas.  (Come on, it's the GOP did anybody REALLY think that her candidacy was going to be taken seriously?)

But most important of all is that those of us who were blown away by last week's Democratic debate are going to be totally underwhelmed by the low blows, backstabbing, and cat-fighting which defines the GOP debates.

If that happens just do what I'm planning to do and imagine Hillary or Bernie eating these idiot's lunches for them.

As always I will be on Twitter.

And I will also be back to update the post as events warrant.

"Oh God is it time for another debate?" The GOP edition.

Source
Courtesy of NPR:

It's the home stretch in the presidential campaign before people actually start voting in less than three weeks — and that raises the stakes for Thursday night's Republican presidential debate in Charleston, S.C. (After this debate, there will be just one more before the Iowa caucuses.)

Donald Trump has been the great disruptor of the 2016 presidential campaign. He's been the focus, whether Republicans have wanted him to be or not. And Thursday night, all the other candidates (except perhaps Ben Carson) will likely have him in their sights.

That's especially true after Trump and Ted Cruz finally dropped the niceties with each other. Trump continued to raise questions about Cruz's eligibility to be president — even playing "Born in the U.S.A." at his rallies. (Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother.) Cruz hit back, saying Trump should play "New York, New York" at his rallies because he "embodies New York values." Cruz accused Trump of being "rattled."

Well now that Trump and Cruz have stopped playing nice with each other this might be an entertaining debate to watch.  The key phrase of course is "might be."

But I swear if I don't see any blood drawn in the first half hour I might have to tune out early.

I'm especially cranky because I had to look through the listings to even find the Fox Business channel. I swear if they are going to hide the debates in the no man's land of preferred cable plans they should not expect a large number of viewers.

Of course I will watch most of it since this is the job that I chose for myself, because apparently the crash test dummy position was filled.

Anyhow as always I will be drunkenly tweeting the debate here, and occasionally posting updates here at IM and leaving comments as well.

Now where is that corkscrew?

I still think Jimmy Carter could kick Donald Trump's ass in a street fight.

And don't forget Hillary sat through an eleven hour Benghazi hearing without breaking a sweat.

Even when her voice started to crack she refused to stop slapping the Benghazi out of Trey Gowdy, and his crew of pinheads.

Megyn Kelly mocks Republican candidates list of demands for debates.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

Megyn Kelly looked over the list of demands in the GOP letter drafted yesterday––including specific requests about temperature in the room, the kinds of questions asked, and approval of all on-screen graphics––and just mercilessly mocked it.

The letter was drafted by an RNC official trying to bring all the candidates together to crack down on debates after the CNBC debacle. And while a few candidates won’t sign the letter, the fact that so many would be okay with these conditions amused Kelly.

“Can you imagine having to submit our graphics for approval to the candidates?” she asked. “Good luck with that.”

Now remember this is on FOX NEWS which for all intents and purposes serves as a propaganda machine for conservatives and Republicans in this country.

Let's face it when even your outlet for propaganda is fed up with you, you really don't have much to fall back on.

At this point I kind of wonder if we will start to see the candidates forming smaller groups and holding their own debates in the back of a bar or something and asking the media to attend if they are not too busy.

Or perhaps they will all simply call in to a conservative radio station and argue with each other telephonically.

Or perhaps Donald Trump will come to the rescue and hold the HUGEST, BESTEST debate anybody anywhere has ever seen in one of his hotels.

Of course in Trump's version of a debate, he would fill several roles including producer, moderator, candidate, and, of course, winner.

Is it wrong that I am having so much fun with all of this?

It really feels like it should be wrong.

President Obama mocks the Republican presidential candidates over their inability to handle debate moderators.

Courtesy of Crooks and Liars:

At a fundraiser Monday night, President Obama mocked the 2016 Republican primary candidates for being such whiners about the CNBC debate.

Speaking about candidates' big talk about handling Vladimir Putin, he said, “They say, when I talk to Putin, he’s going to straighten out. And then it turns out they can’t handle a bunch of CNBC moderators.”

“If you can’t handle those guys, I don’t think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you,” the President concluded.

Essentially the GOP presidential lineup is made up of a bunch of over privileged, tough talking, babies.

"Oh the questions are too hard."

"Oh the camera showed my bad side."

"Oh I want to talk more than the other candidates or I'm going to take my ball and go home."

And they want to go up against Hillary Clinton, who spent eleven hours dealing with a Republican witch hunt, and emerged victorious after eating their lunch for them?

Good luck!

Sarah Palin has found another tiny cable news network that nobody has ever heard of to work at temporarily.

"I'm back bichez! You know on a cable news outlet that most of you won't be able to find."
Courtesy of Newsmax:

Immediately following Wednesday’s debate, Sarah Palin and other top pundits will join Newsmax TV’s post-debate special program offering their take on the candidates' performance.

In addition to the former Alaska governor, political experts joining the Newsmax special will include Dick Morris, John Zogby, Mike Reagan, Craig Shirley and others.

Newsmax TV also will be conducting an instant online poll asking viewers to vote on who won the third Republican debate.

This debate may prove to be the most important of the primary season. So tune in to watch Sarah Palin, Dick Morris and others for their reaction to this important event!

Oh wow, Mike Reagan, Dick Morris, AND Sarah Palin? This is going to be an all you can stomach incoherent word salad smorgasbord!

The article goes on to brag that Newsmax reaches "42 million US homes." Of course that is just because they managed to attach themselves to Direct TV's basic package. That in no way means that there are anywhere near that many people actually tuning in.

In fact the network only has five affiliates. Three in Kansas, one in Arkansas, and the last in Idaho.

The news outlet has only been around for a little over a year, and according to Business Insider the owner, Chris Ruddy, is actually a moderate Independent who is friends with the Clintons and has talked of possibly supporting Hillary in 2016.

Gee I wonder if anybody bothered to tell Palin THAT little bit of news?

So apparently Palin was so unimpressive during her last gig on One America News, that THEY don't want her back, but a fledgling conservative cable news operation, started by a politically moderate Hillary supporter, who launched his network as a direct challenge to Fox News, does?

Anybody smelling a possible setup here?

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

So Mike Huckabee took to Twitter last night during the debate and it was...let's say interesting.

He was perhaps a little underwhelmed with Bernie Sanders.
Had a little something to add about guns
As well as Benghazi.
And of course Hillary's e-mail server.

But then apparently his meds wore off.
Okey dokey.
Good way to remind everybody that your son once murdered a dog.

And then things got really weird.

I don't even know what to do with this.

Leave it to good old Mike Huckabee to remind us why the GOP debates are more entertaining, and why NONE of them should ever be allowed to even set foot in the White House.

In the least surprising news imaginable Sarah Palin is trying to raise money off of John Boehner's resignation.

If you click the link it takes you to the SarahPAC Facebook page where you can vote for your choice, if you are willing to leave your e-mail address and name of course.

Of course Palin tried to raise money off of the Pope's recent visit so yeah you could have seen this coming from outer space.

Once again I cannot imagine how many people are still ignorant enough to give SarahPAC their e-mail address, unless of course it is a made up Yahoo or GMail account that contains words like "grifter," "fame whore," or "Bitch on ice" in it.

Especially since Palin has made similar attempts to gather e-mail addresses using the recent GOP debate,  an attack on Hillary Clinton, and of course those doctored Planned Parenthood videos.

At this point it seems that Palin has been reduced to the equivalent of a mongrel dog, desperately trying to gain sustenance from the left over scraps of news coverage given to others now that the warm glow of the limelight is no longer feeding her ego.

The campaign of Tea Party favorite Ben Carson is apparently self destructing.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

The presidential candidacy of Ben Carson, a tea party star who has catapulted into the top tier of Republican contenders, has been rocked by turmoil with the departures of four senior campaign officials and widespread disarray among his allied super PACs.

In interviews Friday, Carson’s associates described a political network in tumult, saying the retired neurosurgeon’s campaign chairman, national finance chairman, deputy campaign manager and general counsel have resigned since Carson formally launched his bid last month in Detroit. They have not been replaced, campaign aides said.

The moves gutted the core of Carson’s apparatus and left the 63-year-old first-time candidate with only a handful of experienced advisers at his side as he navigates the fluid, crowded and high-stakes contest for the Republican nomination.

Carson is a hot commodity on the right-wing speaking circuit and has fast become a leading candidate, winning straw votes at conservative gatherings and rising in public polls.

But his campaign has been marked by signs of dysfunction and amateurism, alarming supporters who privately worry that Carson’s sprawling circle of boosters is fumbling his opportunity. And, they argue, the candidate has been nonchalant about the unrest.

I have little doubt that Carson will find more political leaches ready and willing to climb onto his campaign to nowhere, but I think the fact that this thing is ultimately going to crash on the rocks is already a foregone conclusion.

In fact my anticipation of Carson's self immolation during the first handful of debates is right up there with my anticipation of the new Jurassic World movie opening this week.

My only question is will he be the first to spontaneously combust or will he be preceded by the likes of Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, or Rick Perry?

All I know is that this is going to be some of the most entertaining television since Breaking Bad went off the air.
