A roundup of all of the Immoral Minority's Sarah Palin "Babygate" stories over the last few months.

So it all started with an e-mail I received from a friend asking about a rumor that little Trig was not Sarah's baby. I received this on August 29th, the very day that Sarah was snagged for John McCain's VP.

My first actual post on the story occurred on August 30th, and linked to one of the first sites dedicated to the pregnancy story.

On that same day we learned that Sarah's Wikipedia page had been scrubbed. And the Daily Kos weighed in with their very confrontational declaration that baby Trig was definitely not Sarah's baby. (Don't bother clicking the link to Daily Kos because the story was removed.)

On August 31st I found a video of Sarah Palin pregnant with one of her other children (Sorry the link I provided for this story is now broken. In short it showed Sarah Palin working for news station KTVA while pregnant. And even though she was seated, it was VERY clear that she was pregnant, even from the neck up). On this day I also posted the Sarah Palin Pregnancy Decision Map. And the ADN published an article that was supposed to put the controversy to rest in which Palin Spokesperson Bill McAllister admitted being told about the rumor that Bristol was pregnant by Sarah Palin herself, BEFORE she announced that SHE was pregnant.

And then it was September, and things REALLY started to heat up! (I will continue updating this post as the day progresses.)

Update: So September 1st arrived and after the McCain campaign callously threw Bristol under the bus to put to rest the pregnancy rumors, I discovered what appeared to be the Smoking Gun. Which contained some pictures from Mercedes Johnston's MySpace page. Which later of course was shut down (Like every other Internet site that had potentially damaging photographic proof that Palin was not Trig's mother.)

To be honest I thought the controversy was over. I did not believe that ANYBODY could look at those pictures and not know for certain that Trig was somebody elses child.

I was wrong.

September 2nd provided another photo of a too slim to be pregnant Sarah Palin and the news that possible baby daddy Levi Johnston was hitting the campaign trail! That must have been an uncomfortable bus ride!

On September 5th we saw the picture of Levi Johnston tenderly placing a kiss on little Trig's head. (The picture on my post is dead but you can still see the picture here.) Also on this day I posted "Vanity Fair's Authoritative Trig Palin Conspiracy Timeline".

On September 7 I did a round up of other blogs working this story as well.

On September 9 one of my teacher friends dropped a bomb which just confused me further. And on "Real Time" Bill Maher expressed skepticism concerning the official story as well.

September 10 was the first day I called for the release of Sarah Palin's medical records. And the first day I linked to blogger Andrew Sullivan and his take on this fascinating question. On this day it also looked like the national Enquirer was going to get the goods as well, but they seemed to not realize what they had.

September 12 had the Canadian Broadcasting Company talking about the inconsistencies in the Trig Palin birth story.

On September 21st I found a website by a woman who asked a very reasonable question about Sarah Palin's pregnancy.

September 23 brought us a new website that put all of the evidence together for the Internet surfer with limited time on their hands.

On September 24 I became aware of "Palins Deceptions" for the first time, which is the site making all of the noise on the web today.

And then it was already October.

The first post of October was on the sixth which linked to yet another website devoted to the pregnancy question.

On October 20th I posted about Sarah's then still unreleased medical records, and Andrew Sullivan reopened the can of worms again as well.

October 30th Cajunboy got everybody's hopes up with a the story that ADN had an article about "Babygate" that it was going to publish. Guess how that turned out?

And then it was November, the month of the election, and we still had not put this controversy to rest.

I will continue to update this throughout the day, and will keep moving it to the top each time that I do. There are many, many posts so forgive me if this actually takes a few days to complete.

Stay tuned for more.

  1. You can not believe anything today so I still do not know or care but she is still using that baby very successfully as a Political prop!

Gryphen - thank you so much! I'm going to link this particular story in my next post as your's a true accounting of the development of the Sarah/Trig story.

FYI: The link 'this is what Sarah looks like pregnant' done in 1989 took me to an interview by Diane Baker.

WOWJUSTWOW flickr page is now defunct.

I'm wondering if any of the people who possess the actual photos which have been scrubbed from the internet will ever be coaxed into coming forward. I touched on this topic here:

    http://ozmud.wordpress.com/2008/11/30/sarah-palin-not-the-peoples-choice-part-3-glasses-and-props/

    - and thought you might be interested in my take on the muted sideliners.

    Thanks again

  3. Bristol's baby is supposedly due on the 18th of this month. It's Dec 3rd, today. Can't help but wonder when that baby is going to be born. If that baby is born in January, then I think all hell may break loose public relations-wise because it was reported nationally that Bristol was 5 months pregnant after Sarah was became GOP VP nominee. And that was what killed the MSM from investigating further. If that baby isn't born in December, then I think the national media will be taking a much deeper look at the issue and all the work that has been done online.

  4. Has anyone seen Bristol? Any sightings of her since her return to AK from the convention? I had coffee with a woman who said she's following chatter by some who believe Bristol's body appeared looked postpartum, not pregnant. You'd think there'd be some mention or photo or something out there of her. No matter what, it's just a shame that Trig is nothing more to Palin but a ploy to win sympathy. It's rotten.

  6. Yes you were indeed the mysterious e-mailer.

And there has been a Bristol sighting in Wasilla. My understanding is that she is indeed pregnant, and not talking to the press.

This should be an interesting month indeed.

  7. Gryphen - This is super-helpful from an historical standpoint. Please keep it going, and the more detail the better.

Along with Audrey, you'll be viewed as one of the heros in this odd saga when all is said and done.

I am astounded that people still will not leave Sarah Palin alone. I am a nurse and have seen women go into delivery who did not even look pregnant. it is also a medical fact that women over 35 are at risk for a down syndrome baby. Good grief he is her baby and why is it such a big deal anyway.

People won't leave SP alone b/c she won't leave us alone. She won't fade into the background like all other losers. She makes herself a public figure so she is fair game. As far as the baby, I too have known women who've not shown at all during their pregancy. But I've never seen one who did show had such a major changes in such a short period. Also, the time line doesn't add up. Getting on a plane after your water broke makes no sense at all.

1:22 PM - If you don't know why it is a big deal you really are a clueless dolt. Bless your heart.

It's very amusing. Winters are very long in Alaska and people have a lot of time on their hands! Still, there is a delicious irony in a conspiracy theory purporting that Sarah Palin faked a pregnancy after all that birther conspiracy nonsense thrown at Barack Obama.
