Somebody set up a GoFundMe account for the Chicago craft store employee who was berated by that crazy Trump supporter.

Remember her?

This from the GoFundMe page:

On the night before Thanksgiving, I witnessed a white woman engage in a 30 minute racist rant (complete with yelling and cursing and repeated references to the fact that employees were African American) against the employees at a Chicago Michaels store - because she did not like that they offered her the option to purchase a re-usable shopping bag for her larger items. I was directly in front of this customer in line, I stopped at the exit to show my 2 year old a Christmas ornament and witnessed first-hand that the Michaels’ employees did nothing to provoke this verbal attack, and in fact treated all customers with professionalism and courtesy. I was so shocked by this unprovoked attack that I captured 17 minutes of it on video on my phone. I am starting this gofundme because I’d like to do something to try to make it up to the employee who was the main target of this racist attack. I’d like to show her that many people are horrified by how this woman treated her, and that we stand with her and appreciate her hard work. She inspired me because despite the hateful words that were being hurled in her direction, she stood in that entranceway calm and unmoving to protect her staff and customers. Her calmness calmed me and I saw a true leader, which in today’s world, is something to be rewarded. All proceeds from this gofundme will be given to this employee, who has three children, to try to make her busy holiday season brighter. In the current climate I believe it’s very important that we go out of our way to treat each other with dignity, kindness and politeness, and that we stand up for each other when we see people being mistreated.

***Thank you so much for everyone's kindness and generosity, I want to reiterate that the police were called, bystanders, including myself, were actively involved and the staff handled this flawlessly. There is so much you don't see in this video. Atleast ten customers stood next to the manager and waited for the police. That is what shocked the manager and myself the most, that people actually spoke up. You had to be there to see how the people were united. Thank you so much for helping me with this small gesture to thank this employee. Over 48,000 people have seen this video, if that many people gifted $1 this could be life-changing. I saw a hero and a leader in this manager. I was inspired by her. This incident started over a $1 re-usuable bag, but it's not new for African Americans and other POC. We have to stand up, if you can't speak up, at least be a witness and share your story.

As of this posting that account has already received more than $18,000 in donations.

However it appears that we may actually need more GoFundMe accounts because that lady is not finished taking out her Trump inspired wrath on defenseless store employees.

Jesus I can only imagine how much worse this will be when Cheeto Jesus actually takes office.

Another day, another court date for Levi and Sunny Johnston.

As has been mentioned earlier on this blog Levi and Sunny appeared in court this morning, even though the custody case has been settled.

Most of you have already guessed why Bristol is still able to drag Levi through the court system, though I am apparently not supposed to state it definitively here on IM. Let's just say that today's hearing, as you can determine for yourself by visiting Court View, should be entitled the "Shut Gryphen up!" hearing.

Apparently, if my sources are correct, Bristol seems to believe that Levi controls me and can somehow keep me from posting anything that could prove damaging to her.

For the record, no he cannot.

However I think that once that part has been established today in court that the next plan will be to simply take Levi back to court as often as they can in the future and punish him financially for every negative story I write about her or her family with information that he may, or may not have provided during our conversations. (I DO have other sources still.)

In fact I learned yesterday that CSSD cleaned out Levi's accounts, and took all of the money that he had in there earmarked for the building of that house for his mother.

If I had to guess I would imagine that SOMEBODY notified the department about the Johnston GoFundMe account and tried to make sure that the money would not reach their lawyer. However the lawyer money was paid so instead they simply got the money for Sherry's house.

Just more dirty tricks my friends.

So let me take a minute to explain what I don't think a lot of people understand about Levi's case.

It may seem to simply be a child custody case, but in fact it is a 1st Amendment case.

Let me explain what I mean by that.

You see ever since Levi and Bristol split up, she and her mother have used Tripp, and other tactics, to keep Levi quiet about the things that he saw while living with them, and while dating her.

In my opinion Sherry Johnston's drug conviction was just one of those tactics. (Trust me, how she came to be arrested and the length of her conviction were HIGHLY unusual.)

When Levi hooked up with Rex and Tank (And remember that was just an attempt to get his son back in his life as well.) he started to tell the media those very stories, but at some point his handlers were compromised and once again Levi became afraid to speak freely.

(For instance do you remember when Levi supposedly apologized publicly to the Palins for the things he said in the media? Yeah? Well he never did that, in fact he only found out about it AFTER it had been published. But he was too intimidated by what they might do to correct that story.)

If you have been paying attention, EVERY time Levi came off of his leash, even to simply explain that he did NOT owe the amount of child support that was being reported in the media, he has suffered consequences. Which most of the time resulted in a loss of contact with his son.

After awhile you become afraid to even say your name to a reporter, much less tell your story.

To put that into perspective that would be like if YOU were constantly afraid that if you talked about your child, your ex, or some seemingly innocuous part of your life, with ANYBODY, that it might show up in a tabloid or blog somewhere and you would suddenly have no contact with your child or you would be viciously attacked in the press.

So when Levi came to me, after exhausting all other possibilities, you have understand how desperate he had become.

I gave him the money for his lawyer with no strings attached, but Levi felt it was only right to answer some of my questions, and so he did. Even though at the time he worried about the backlash, I assured him that nothing would be reported until AFTER the custody case was decided.

And I kept my word.

I must explain in my defense that I carefully laid this whole thing out for Levi and explained how he would be safe from retaliation if he were only to avoid a couple of missteps.

One of those missteps was to ever put trust into any deal from Bristol or her attorneys, or to believe that they would ever keep their side of any bargain.

Unfortunately I was not able to attend Levi's hearings with him and not everything went the way it was supposed to. For that reason we now find ourselves where we are today.

Today's hearing was closed so I will not be told what happened, and therefore cannot share it here.

I can tell you that Levi and Sunny have been under assault for this entire week, and that is most likely why Sunny has deleted her Facebook page.

I don't know what comes next for Levi and Sunny but I do know that I have no intention of being silenced.

In the meantime those who are helping to destroy this young couple's life seem to be largely untouched by any such drama.

Courtesy of Bristol's blog:

Dakota and I have a dilemma probably biweekly. He thinks clean shaven looks the best.

But, I disagree! I like him scruffy.

He says if I’m right – and people agree with me more – he’ll keep it scruffy.

If I’m wrong – he can shave whenever.

HELP ME OUT! Vote which look is best!

Yes while Levi and Sunny fight to keep their family together and pay their bills those with the means simply get to debate the importance of grooming.

Must be nice.

As promised this is my Monday post about the Johnston's Go Fund Me page.

So there is a slim possibly at this point that there are some of you who do not know that on Friday Levi and Sunny started a Go Fund Me account.

In just over an hour they had raised a $1,000.

By the end of the day Alaska time they had met their initial goal of $5,000.

So with the urging of myself and a whole lot of IMers they raised the amount to the one that I had suggested earlier, $10,000. And by the time yesterday was over they had met that goal as well.

News of the account has now been covered by TMZ, Raw Story, International Business Times, and the Washington Post.

There is still quite a bit of misinformation in the comment section of those sites, but I noticed some stalwart IMers waded in to correct the record. (Thanks for that by the way.)

Today Sunny withdrew some of that money to pay off the lawyers, and is preparing to take out more soon to pay off a number of other debts.

As you can imagine both she and Levi and extraordinarily grateful and touched by the outpouring of support and goodwill.

In fact Sunny sent me this message today to share with all of you:

We just want to say thank you, and to share with you that around this time last year we had been forced to sell everything we could think of just to make ends meet, and Levi was away working on the slope while I had a brand new baby to care for and no real place to call home (I don't know if that's too much information, but it's true.)

But life has really turned around since then... I'm still surprised we reached our goal so quickly.

This, what you have done, will take a lot of pressure off of us. We are already planning to use any money that is not needed immediately for lawyer fees, or to pay outstanding debts, to pay down some of the back child support that Levi still owes.

Like most families we have a number of plans for our future and hope to become successful enough to one day give back to others like all of you have given to us.

Maybe we can help other fathers fighting for their kids. Or help children who cannot afford a good education.Things of that nature.

We have already started to pay it forward by giving away everything for free at our garage sale this weekend. So you all have already inspired us a lot.

It feels good to know there are people on our side when so many out there have such a terrible image of who Levi is because of the Palin's misinformation for so many years.

It's good to know that some people do their homework and can look past a negative headline, instead of immediately jumping to a false conclusion based on lies put forward by those trying to destroy Levi's reputation and credibility.

Let me just remind you that standing up for yourself against the Palins here in Alaska is no easy feat, and it is infinitely worse when you live in the same small town. So you may judge Levi and Sunny however you wish, but I know the courage that it took to make their situation public and to stand up for their family, knowing the kinds of repercussions coming their way.

Remember the Palins never let a slight go unchallenged, and if payback is a bitch, well you know what she looks like.

P.S. I thought I would take a moment to say that what you guys have done for these two young people is something for which all of you should be extremely proud.

I know that I am both proud of you, and humbled by the response.

Kind of hard to call ourselves the Immoral Minority when there are so many selfless and inspiring people hanging out here isn't it?

Dylann Roof's sister has a Go Fund account to pay for the wedding that was so inconveniently preempted by her brother's killing spree.

Courtesy of Radar Online:

Amber Roof posted a photo of herself with her fiancĂ© Michael Tyo under the headline “A Fresh Start For Michael and Amber.” The page shows a goal of raising $5,000.

“As many of you know Michael and I had to abruptly cancel our wedding day, due to the tragedy that occurred in Charleston,” she writes in a message on the page, referring to the day her brother gunned down nine people in their Charleston, S.C., church.

“June 21st was suppose to be the happiest day of our lives. It is the day every girl dreams of, it was the day we dreamed of. We had each other, we have the perfect venue, and we had our vows ready to be read. We were ready! We had planned out every detail for months and months. It was going to be the PERFECT day!” she wrote.

“Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man,” Roof, 27, notes, saying her sibling’s sick actions were responsible for “destroying the first day of Michael and my life together.”

Gee, how sad for her.

Here she is trying to start a life with her soon to be husband and her brother goes and slaughters nine people in a church in an effort to start a race war.

I can only imagine how much she has suffered.

Now if you will excuse me I have to step outside and do a little primal screaming.

Ex-Marine who organized armed protest outside Arizona mosque tried to raise ten million dollars to either protect his family or to run against John McCain.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

After announcing last week that he was going into “hiding” to protect himself and his family following an anti-Islam rally he organized in Phoenix, Arizona, ex-Marine Jon Ritzheimer tried to launch a crowd-funding campaign that aimed to raise $10 million. But now, it appears that the GoFundMe site he used has removed the page.

According to KPNX reporter Brahm Resnik, the man said he planned to use the funds to either protect his family or run against Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in 2016.

Well there's a choice for you, hide my family away to protect them from my stupidity, or expose them to greater danger by openly running a campaign for the US Senate.

I am not sure if this chucklehead is more of a danger to himself, his family, or the Islamic community in Arizona.

I don't blame GoFundMe for taking down his page.

Forget raising money to help a victim of cancer, or of the Boston Bombing. The real money is in refusing to serve pizza at gay weddings.

Courtesy of NewNowNext:

According to GoFundMe’s Most Raised page, the fund benefiting Memories Pizza is the second highest-funded project in the website’s history, raising more money than funds for a woman dying from a rare cancer, victims disfigured by the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, and a disabled man brutally beaten outside his home.

I first read this post yesterday, and since then the Most Raised page has removed Memories Pizza's account from their list. However if you click the link above, and compare the top earners to Memories Pizza's GoFundMe page, it will still demonstrate that they have indeed raised more money than everybody else except an account for a young girl dying of cancer.

And that includes more money than two victims of the Boston Bombing, the family of a priest killed in a car accident, and a woman dying of a rare form of cancer.

Maybe it's just me but it seems that if closing your store after a few threatening phone calls, makes you a bigger victim in the eyes of the eyes of the public than losing your limbs or dying of cancer, then there is something truly fucked up about this country.

Oh and by the way Memories Pizza is reopening. Which must be a snap when you have  $842,000 for remodeling, advertising, and of course security to keep teh gays out.
