Donald Trump is finally scheduled to visit Britain.

Just make sure there are no protesters. I hate protesters.
Courtesy of The Guardian:

Donald Trump will make a “working visit” to the UK on Friday 13 July, the UK and US have both confirmed, with the US president set to meet the Queen during the trip.

The visit, which will take place immediately after a Nato summit in Brussels, will include bilateral talks with Theresa May, according to Britain’s ambassador to the US.

It will not, however, be the full state visit the US president was promised when May visited Washington last year, meaning he will not be honoured with an official banquet at Buckingham Palace or a carriage procession up the Mall.

Downing Street has insisted the invitation for a full state visit still stands, but there is no timetable for it to take place.

May invited Trump for a state visit when she became the first world leader to meet the president in the White House in January last year.

It was downgraded to a “working trip” after huge public opposition to the visit and MPs said Trump should not be given the opportunity to address parliament. He has clashed publicly with London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, who has said the president’s visit would result in mass peaceful protests and that Trump’s values were the polar opposite of Londoners’.

I can only imagine how badly Trump will embarrass America when he visits the Queen.

There are already mass protests planned:

Jeremy Corbyn-backing activist and commentator Owen Jones took to Facebook to urge Britons to join mass demonstrations against the visit.

Writing on the 'Protest Trump's Visit' Facebook group - which has over 100,000 people interested in it, he wrote: 'It's official; Donald Trump is visiting the UK on 13th July.

'Everyone out on the streets! Invite everyone you know to this event.'

Police have been bracing themselves for what could be the biggest protests the country has seen.

So apparently this will go off like every other event planned by the Trump White House.

Donald Trump demands the right to ride in the Queen of England's golden carriage despite the security risks.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

US President Donald Trump is keen to use the Queen's royal carriage to travel down The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

According to officials, the White House views the carriage procession as an important part of Trump's itinerary for his visit scheduled for the second week in October.

UK security sources have warned that it poses a "monster" security operation, according to a Times report, leading to a lockdown of areas in central London.

The Metropolitan Police are preparing for one of the largest public order operations in years, as hundreds of thousands of people are expected to come to Westminster to protest at Trump's state visit, which was postponed from earlier this year.

The article goes on to point out that the carriage is a flimsy affair which does not offer the same protection that the a president's reinforced car does against possible attack.

So why, considering the fact that Trump is reviled by many of the people in England, would he so keen on taking such a big security risk?

Ah, well I guess that more or less explains it right there.

Trump's ego demands that he receive the same treatment as his puppet master.

Personally I don't think that the Queen of England responds well to the demands of bullies sand I hope she refuses Orange Hitler's demand.

You may be cool but you will never be "riding in a car with the Queen of England" cool.

I'm sorry but it seems that everything this President does is extra cool for some reason.

Alan Turing, WWII codebreaker and father of the computer, granted rare royal pardon for the crime of being a homosexual.

Courtesy of Reuters:

Mathematician Alan Turing, who helped Britain win World War Two by cracking Nazi Germany's "unbreakable" Enigma code, was granted a rare royal pardon on Tuesday for a criminal conviction for homosexuality that led to his suicide.

Turing's electromechanical machine, a forerunner of modern computers, unraveled the code used by German U-boats in the Atlantic. His work at Bletchley Park, Britain's wartime codebreaking centre, was credited with shortening the war.

However, he was stripped of his job and chemically castrated with injections of female hormones after being convicted of gross indecency in 1952 for having sex with a man. Homosexual sex was illegal in Britain until 1967.

Turing killed himself in 1954, aged 41, with cyanide.

Justice Minister Chris Grayling said the pardon from Queen Elizabeth would come into effect immediately and was a fitting tribute to "an exceptional man with a brilliant mind".

Without this great man we may have lost the war.

And without his contribution to modern day computing, I may not have been able to share this long overdue good news with all of you.

Remember when next you hear a conservative go on and on about the "good old days" that those old days were not good for everybody. And the times we are living in today are the ones that progressives have been fighting to drag  us to for decades.

Picture of the day!

I have never been more frightened of an 86 year old woman in my life!

The Queen of England honors our President. And you know, I think she meant it!

Wow!  That was quite impressive.

You know I cannot help but notice that while Sarah Palin cannot even get an audience with the severely ill, and dementia stricken Margaret Thatcher, that President Obama is warmly welcomed by the Queen, who has certainly seen her share of presidents, prime ministers, and royalty, yet seems truly impressed with our most current leader.

I don't know about all of you, but this picture makes me very proud of who we have in the White House.
