Cliven Bundy: "If I say 'negro' or 'black boy' or 'slave" and people are offended "then Martin Luther King hasn't got his job done yet."

Bundy was pressed by CNN's Chris Cuomo to acknowledge that he offended people when he mused about whether blacks were "better off as slaves, picking cotton" than "under government subsidy," which was first highlighted by the New York Times. 

In response, Bundy said King wouldn't have wanted the media to demonize him over those remarks and invoked the example of Rosa Parks to show he supported civil rights. 

"I thought about Rosa Park taking her seat at the front of the bus … What Reverend King wanted was that she could sit anywhere in the bus and nobody would say anything about it," Bundy said. "You and I can sit anywhere in the bus. That's what he wanted. That's what I want." 

"That's what he was after, it's not a prejudice thing but make us equal," he added. 

"I understand that Martin Luther King's message was one of peace and freedom," Cuomo said in a testy exchange. "When you suggest that you were wondering if blacks were better off as slaves, that's the opposite of freedom and very offensive to people. And I think you probably know that." 

"Maybe I sinned and maybe I need to ask forgiveness … but you know when you talk about prejudice, we're talking about not being able to exercise what we think and are feeling," Bundy eventually conceded. 

"If I say 'negro' or 'black boy' or 'slave,' I'm not -- if those people cannot take those kind of words and not be offensive then Martin Luther King hasn't got his job done yet," he added.

And yes those remarks were caught on tape.

So let's be clear, Martin Luther King Jr. has not done his job because racist comments are still condemned by society?

This asshole does realize that it was gun toting racists like him that stopped Martin Luther King Jr. from finishing "his job," right?

I have to imagine that right now there are Right Wing types slamming their heads against the wall in frustration and wishing that somebody would shut this son-of-a-bitch up before he says anything else that exposes the fact that behind closed doors they are all racists.

Look how angry he made poor addle brained Sean Hannity.

And Koch brother backed groups are trying to pretend they were not shaking their poms poms in support before he went all Archie Bunker on their ass.

Hey maybe they could convince George Zimmerman to come out of hiding and help explain what Bundy is really trying to say? At this point it probably couldn't hurt.

Republican Congressional candidate compares Duck Dynasty patriarch to Rosa Parks. Did that really just happen?

Today, Ian Bayne called Phil Robertson, star of the A&E series “Duck Dynasty,” the ‘Rosa Parks’ of our generation. 

“In December 1955, Rosa Parks took a stand against an unjust societal persecution of black people, and in December 2013, Robertson took a stand against persecution of Christians,” said Bayne. 

“What Parks did was courageous,” said Bayne. “What Mr. Robertson did was courageous too.” 

Bayne believes that the Duck Dynasty star knew that going on GQ would result in the current controversy going on surrounding his suspension, as well as his suspension. 

Bayne added that this exposure of Robertson’s situation is an eye opener for many who may have been previously in disbelief that the bible is fast becoming considered “hate speech” by the media and society.

Look he is even bragging about this on his website.  Where non-crazy Teabaggers can see it and everything.

Okay you know this was all fun and games up until now, and sort of a revelation as to how far the two sides are now split in this country, (My daughter tells me dropped a lot of Facebook friends over it.) However this has just dropped down the freaking rabbit hole.

Does this idiot REALLY believe there is ANY comparison between Robertson making some truly offensive remarks about a group of people who are just now being granted the same civil rights as everybody else in the country, to a woman who stood up for African American civil rights in the 50's?

Seriously?

Perhaps now would be a good place to revisit what this great champion of free speech had to say about black folks back when Rosa Parks was risking her freedom for the great cause of that time:

I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I'm with the blacks, because we're white trash. We're going across the field. ... They're singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, 'I tell you what: These doggone white people' -- not a word!... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.

Yes this humanitarian was so in tune with the struggles of the American people that he could work side by side with an oppressed minority and not recognize how much they were suffering, and that they were not allowed access to the same opportunities enjoyed by white folks such as himself. 

Rosa Parks was a hero.

Phil Robertson is hillbilly with a reality show based on his ability to make fucking duck calls.

They should never be mentioned in the same breath by ANYBODY!

Ted Nugent goes after Democrats for destroying his people. You know, black people.

"No this hand gesture has NO relation as to why I own so many guns."

In Nugen'ts latest crayon drawing that he submitted to Wing Nut Daily he makes the following claim:

Barack Obama, the guy who received roughly 93 percent of black American votes, is the clear and present engineer of the destruction of black America. 

Yes because becoming the first black presidential role model,  reforming health care which will help African Americans get health care coverage for the first time, and working to repair the economy is SO bad for black people in this country.

But wait there's more:

It was a damnable lie when Vice President Biden stated at a campaign rally attended by many black Americans last fall that if the country elected Republicans they would “put y’all back in chains.” What a disgrace and clown Vice President Biden is. He’s a national embarrassment. 

The truth is that the Democratic Party has been the engineer of the destruction of black Americans, and everyone knows it except the very people who need to know it the most – black Americans. 

The turbo-destruction will continue for black Americans until they realize that dirty Democrat politicians are their true enemy, not their salvation. Fortunately, some are beginning to embrace this self-evident truth. 

I am not sure what "turbo-destruction" is, but it sounds like a word a ten year old boy comes up with to describe something he really does not understand very well.

"Ooh that movie I just watched was a rocket inspired epic slam dunk of a film all covered in awesome sauce!"

But what can you expect from a national embarrassment who projects that title onto one of the most beloved Vice Presidents in history?

Nugent then goes full retard by making up a number of superlatives in order to describe the influence of black musicians on that horrible racket that HE makes on stage.

Indeed, the tapestry of black America is rich and vibrant. I don’t celebrate Black History Month. I celebrate it every day, as my very black-inspired musical dreams could not have been successful were it not for black Americans. 

My fire-breathing musical career was literally launched by black musical thundergods such as Bo Diddly, Little Richard, James Brown, Wilson Picket, Sam & Dave, Albert King, BB King, Freddie King, the mighty Funk Brothers, and the epitome of Rock ‘n’ Roll Gods, the master, Chuck Berry. The music these gentlemen created gave birth to my music and all great, moving, soulful music. We owe it all to them. 

By the way some of the ways that Nugent has celebrated Black History everyday is by once suggesting that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson were "lisping ebonic-mumbo jumbo," and comparing gun owners to Rosa Parks.  Because you know NOTHING says I am down with the African American community quite like making fun of civil rights icons.

As for that whole Bo Diddly, Little Richard, and Wilson Picket being "thundergods" I would like to point out that not only is the ACTUAL thunder god a lily white Norse guy..

...but that the MAJORITY of African Americans today don't even know who Ted Nugent is. And if they do, they know him for being a crazed pro-gun lunatic, and have little idea that he even plays music, never mind that he believes himself to be a paler version of B.B. King or Chuck Berry.

Let's face it if the Republicans are going to use Ted Nugent as their diplomat in reaching out to African American voters, they might as well forget getting any support from them EVER!

I have to assume that Nugent took this task on because the conservatives could not get ex-KKK leader David Duke to return their phone calls.

At a campaign fundraiser Wednesday at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, President Obama took a moment to sit aboard the historic bus where Rosa Parks once took a stand in the name of civil rights. 

"I actually had the chance to sit in Rosa Parks' bus -- I just sat there for a moment and pondered the courage and tenacity that is part of our very recent history," he said.

The journey is not yet over, and recently we have again learned that the road will be anything but smooth, but seeing our first African American President sitting in the same seat once occupied by civil rights legend Rosa Park is quite a powerful image to me.

Sadly the struggle for racial equality, and an end to prejudice, is far from over, however it is always worthwhile to celebrate every step in the right direction.
