Marjory Stoneman Douglas teacher who said he would carry his gun in school arrested for leaving it unattended in men's room.

Courtesy of The Miami Herald:

Not the most normal sight: a gun left in the bathroom stall.

But that's exactly what went down on Sunday in a men's room at the Deerfield Beach Pier.

The circumstances of how the Glock 9mm got there are unusual.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the weapon was left by Sean Simpson. If his name sounds familiar, he's the teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas who said he'd be willing to arm himself while on duty.

According to the sheriff's office report, Simpson told deputies he'd left his gun by accident. By the time the chemistry teacher realized his mistake, the Glock was already in the hands of a drunk homeless man who had picked it up and fired. The bullet hit a wall.

Simpson was able to grab the gun away from the vagrant, Joseph Spataro, who was charged with firing a weapon while intoxicated and trespassing.

As for the MSD teacher, he was arrested and charged with failing to safely store a firearm, a second-degree misdemeanor. Simpson posted a $250 cash bond and was released.

Gee, just imagine if this had been in a high school bathroom, and it was a student instead of a homeless man who picked up that gun.

Guns do not keep us safe.

Guns endanger us.

ALL of us.

Two men injured outside a Utah gun show after their weapon exercised its 2nd Amendment rights.

Courtesy of KUTV:

Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds after an accidental discharge in the parking lot of the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy where the International Sportsmen's Expo was being held.

According to Jason Nielsen from the Sandy Police Department, the two adult men were sitting in their car at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday when one tried to hand a firearm off to the other.

The gun discharged hitting one man in the hand, ricocheting and hitting the other man in the leg.

Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The report does not say that the men just purchased the gun at the Sportsmen's Expo but that is likely the case.

Which would mean that almost immediately after purchasing a weapon for protection they were injured by gun fire which could have potentially ended their lives.

There has got to be a lesson here somewhere.

New York man fires at what he thinks is a deer in his backyard, kills 43 year old woman walking her dogs.

Courtesy of WaPo:

A neighbor, Thomas B. Jadlowski, thought he saw a deer in his back yard 200 yards away and fired a single shot. Then he heard a scream. Realizing he’d shot a person, he ran out to help, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a news release.

Jadlowski, 34, called 911 and applied pressure to Rosemary Billquist’s wound until paramedics arrived, according to the sheriff’s office. The bullet had traveled through her hip and out her back, Jamie Billquist said. He rode with his wife to a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center facility in Erie, Pa., where she was pronounced dead.

Jadlowski has not been charged and has been cooperating with investigators, officials said. The case will be reviewed by the Chautauqua County district attorney’s office, which will determine whether Jadlowski will face criminal charges. Officials said the shooting occurred less than an hour after sunset, at a time when it’s illegal to hunt, according to the Associated Press.

Shooting after dark, not properly identifying your target, and now a man has lost his wife, and his life will never be the same.

I certainly think that criminal charges are in order here.

Guns are not a tool. Guns do not protect. Guns are simply an instrument of death.

I will never stop saying that.

81 year old man shows off the gun he carries in case of a church shooting, accidentally fires it wounding both him and his wife.

Courtesy of WaPo:

About 20 elderly people sat down for an early Thanksgiving meal Thursday at a church in East Tennessee, unaware that the pleasant afternoon would take a grim turn.

During their meal, they decided to discuss gun safety in light of recent mass shootings — an idea that came to them after a neighboring county’s sheriff’s department chose to hold similar seminars at its local churches, said Tellico Plains Police Chief Russ Parks.

“Well, I’ve got my gun on me,” an 81-year-old member of First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains said, according to Parks, whose department investigated the incident. He pulled out his holster, which held a .38-caliber Ruger handgun. He removed the magazine, cleared the chamber and showed the gun to the other parishioners. They talked about how to safely bring guns to church — and how sad it was that so many people nationwide had been killed in recent mass shootings. Earlier this month, a gunman killed 26 people when he opened fire with an assault-style gun during Sunday service at a small Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Tex.

The 81-year-old man put the magazine back into the gun and put the gun back in the holster, Parks said. Later, while people were cleaning up, a church member who had missed the demonstration asked to see the weapon.

Just as he was about to show it to the church member, the man accidentally pulled the trigger without realizing the gun was loaded.

A bullet fired across the palm of the 81-year-old’s hand and toward his 80-year-old wife, who was sitting in a wheelchair next to him. It ripped through her lower left abdomen, out the right side of her abdomen, into her right forearm and out the backside of her forearm. The bullet then struck the wall and ricocheted, landing under the wife’s wheelchair, Parks said.

This of course is the kind of thing that I have predicted would happen if more people start carrying guns into churches, theaters, malls, and public schools.

But that does not make me any more intelligent than the guy who predicts that if you stand in the rain you are likely to get wet.

It is just common sense.

More guns, simply means more shootings.

People seem to think that guns work like crucifixes do in the movies to ward off vampires, in that simply wearing one keeps you safe from attack.

But that is not the case. If you have a gun on your person you are endangering everybody in your vicinity.

However, this being Tennessee, I doubt that is the lesson these people will learn from this.

I imagine that next you will see this man's wife strapped with a holster so that she can return fire if her husband "accidentally" shoots at her again.

Teen dies because Ammosexuals do not understand gravity.

Courtesy of Fox 47 News:

Nearly a week after being struck in the head with a bullet that fell out of the sky in Hammond, Indiana, 13-year-old Noah Inman died this weekend, the Hammond Police Department announced on Sunday.

According to the Hammond Police, the boy was outside playing basketball with a group of children around 9:30 p.m. July 1 when he suddenly fell. Witnesses believed the boy was having a seizure and immediately called for an ambulance.

At the hospital, doctors found the boy was struck from a falling bullet.

"The Hammond Police Department would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Inman family. We wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts," Hammond Police Chief John Doughty said. "Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. When reason fails, pray for peace. We will be praying with you."

It is believed that the gunfire came as part of a pre-July 4 weekend celebration.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but shouldn't there be at the very least some education about the idea that "what goes up must come down" before allowing some nimrod to buy a gun?

Where do these knuckle draggers think the bullet goes after being fired into the air?

Oh that's right, into an unsuspecting teenager's skull.

Indiana man fatally shoots nine year old daughter while teaching about gun safety.

Courtesy of Time:

An Indiana man has been charged for fatally shooting his 9-year-old daughter in the head while teaching his two sons about gun safety.

On June 10, Eric Hummel, 33, from Hobart, Indiana, was telling his sons about the dangers of playing with guns when his daughter Olivia walked into the room, People, citing court documents, reports. Unaware that the gun was loaded, he said he pointed it toward her and fired.

Hummel has since been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death, battery resulting in death to a person less than 14 years old, reckless homicide, and, in addition, two counts of neglect of a dependent, People reports. Hummel, who has entered a not guilty plea, faces 20 to 40 years on the neglect of a dependent resulting in death charge, which is a Level 1 felony, according to People.

"She’s dead, she’s dead. I thought it was empty, you can kill," Hummel told the police officer who arrived on the scene, according to a police report obtained by People.

"I was showing the boys the gun and told them not to ever play with it because it can kill someone, then she walked in in the room and I pointed it at her and pulled the trigger, thinking it was empty," he continued, according to People.

Now see, this guy is simply too stupid to have ever been allowed to own a gun.

Anybody who would point a gun at ANYBODY, much less a child, and pull the trigger does not know the first thing about gun safety.

Despite the pain this man feels at the loss of his little girl, he absolutely deserves to be convicted of every one of the charges against him.

And perhaps even more.

Watch as Ted Cruz, the king of awkward, repeatedly strikes his wife in the face with his elbow.

Now to be fair I don't think that Cruz is hitting his wife on purpose, or that he does not care that he is bashing her senseless with his elbow, I simply think that he is one of those people who is not terribly aware of his surroundings.

Exhibit B.
Or maybe he really does not like women all that much.

Remember THIS was the guy that the Republicans were going to rally around in order to stop Trump.

Did anybody really think that was going to happen?

Oregon man goes on shooting spree inside his own home because, well "he had all these guns."

Courtesy of KITV:

Oregon City Police Department arrested Steven Scholz, 66, after they say he intentionally "shot up" his home Saturday morning. Police say Scholz fired his gun multiple times and its bullets hit neighboring houses and a parked car.

"I figured I'd just shoot at random because I had all these guns," Scholz said.

During a jailhouse interview, Scholz said he wouldn't have fired his gun if he'd known his neighbors were home.

"Hurting my neighbors is the last thing I want to do," Scholz adds. "I love them guys, I would lay down my life for them. They have families; I have nothing."

Scholz's next door neighbor Deanna Segura said multiple bullets went through her home and one bullet missed her son by about a minute.

The NRA urges everybody to buy as many guns and as much ammunition as possible because President Obama is coming to take our guns, and of course terrorists are lurking behind every bush, and then nothing ever happens.

So there you are staring at your vast collection of guns and piles of ammo thinking, "Well I have to do SOMETHING with it."

Makes perfect sense.

More guns in the hands of Americans means more senseless shootings and more people put in jeopardy. I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand.

Pro-gun mom shot in the back by four year old son with gun left in the backseat of her car.

Courtesy of the New York Daily News:

A proud, pro-gun mom was accidentally shot by her 4-year-old son — just a day after the Second Amendment-loving woman boasted about her tot’s shooting skills.

The Florida boy found the loaded weapon in mom Jamie Gilt’s car Tuesday and shot her as they cruised down a Putnam County road, officials said. The 31-year-old mother survived the mid-drive attack and is in stable condition.

“Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22,” Gilt wrote on Facebook Monday during a fiery online debate about guns as a means of self-defense. The Jacksonville mom maintained she has the right to shoot anyone who threatens her and her family — and she's teaching her kids to do the same.

This was from the woman's Twitter account:
Not sure if that was the "toy" that put the hole in her body, but it is clear she does not respect the deadliness of firearms.

I would like to think that this woman will have learned her lesson, especially since both she and her child survived what could have been a fatal incident for one or both of them, but if this post from her Facebook page is any indication she might be one of those slow learner types.

Four children left in a car with a loaded gun in Tennessee. Guess what happens next.

Courtesy of Local 8 News:

Officers say four children had been left in the car while their mother and step-father were inside the building a short distance away, paying a bill. The mother also left her purse with a loaded semi-automatic pistol inside.

Police say the boy's 8-year-old brother tried to unload the weapon by removing the magazine when the gun discharged, "accidentally" fired, hitting the 7-year-old boy in the head.

The boy was flown to UT Medical Center's trauma center for treatment, where he died.

Believe it or not the authorities are calling this an "accident."

In my opinion both of these adults should be thrown in jail and their children put into a place where they will be safe from this kind of stupidity.

Florida man arrested after shooting woman in the head during "freaky sex" and killing her.

Courtesy of WTSP:

A man has been arrested after accidentally shooting a woman in the head while they were engaged in sexual activity.

Just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 7, Tampa Police responded to a 911 call from Tyrone Fields who said he shot the victim in the head at the Regency Inn and Suites on Church Avenue.

When police arrived they were met by Fields and saw Meagher on the bed with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Fields admitted to shooting the victim but said it had been during "freaky sex" with the woman and that he had only know her for two days. He said they were involved in a role-play scenario in which he put a gun to her head.

Fields said he removed the magazine from his handgun but forgot to remove the bullet from the chamber so when he intentionally pulled the trigger as part of the role-play, he fired a single round into the her head.

The article goes on to explain that the woman was seen entering the room of her own free will and that the sex appears to have been consensual.

This is what happens when people start to see guns as harmless household items.

3 year old shoots himself in the head with grandparent's unsecured gun. Just another day in gun loving America.

Courtesy of KHOU:

The grandparents were babysitting the boy and said they had put him down for a nap in the master bedroom, according to detectives.

"When they went in to check on him, he had apparently located a .380 semiautomatic pistol that was in the bedroom and had apparently accidentally shot himself in the head," said Sgt. Ben Beall.

The boy was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Detectives said it appeared the loaded pistol had been left on the nightstand next to the bed. If true, detectives said the grandparents could face a misdemeanor charge of making a firearm accessible to a child.

The charge can result in a fine and up to a year in jail.

Wow a whole year in jail, or a fine.

Somehow that does not seem to be nearly punitive enough for people who carelessly left a death dealing weapon within reach of a toddler.

Of course the police had an opinion about that:

"There's nothing that the state of Texas can do to the parent or grandparent that's going to be anything close to what they're going to do to themselves."

Perhaps that is true, but it still does not seem to be enough to deter other gun owners from leaving their weapons within reach of small children, as evidenced by the overwhelming number of "accidental" shootings involving young children almost every day in this country.

It should not take the injury or death of a loved one to convince a gun owner to take great pains to make sure that their weapons are locked up tight and out of reach of children. After all, by then it is too late.

Hey remember that time that a Fox and Friends co-host almost killed a drummer with an axe?

Some of you may have seen a short clip of this last night on the Daily Show, for their moment of zen, but there is actually a whole lot more to the story.

Here is Mediaite for the 411 from the drummer himself:

"I was hit by an axe while performing a drum solo live on National TV…..words I never imagined saying! This happened last Sunday and I have been reluctant to post but starting to receive inquiries from concerned family and friends. I am thankful to God that the double sided blade only hit broadside on the outer elbow with significant impact and a couple of cuts as it fell along my wrist. It could have been much worse or fatal. Focusing on full physical and emotional recovery."

Pressed for more information by friends and family, he elaborated:

"My leadership told me they were told there would be no axe throwing. I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it. He had only thrown it once before in practice for an upcoming segment and they told him to throw it with more force. The vid you see is edited showing the Televised portion of the throw and then edited to a portion that was taken on someone’s phone of us being videoed. The part that was actually televised showed the overthrown axe and then segued to us for the drum solo bump, only showing me walking behind the section holding my arm. The actual part where the axe hit me was not televised. Poor decision, obvious negligence, should not have happened, could have been avoided. When shooting or throwing, always know what is behind your target. Basic safety rule. I’m feeling blessed on Father’s day with my 5 children, alive, and with all limbs."

The host was this guy, Pete Hegseth:

Who probably should not be allowed to handle sharp objects.

The drummer was part of a marching band from West Point and I am sure he did not consider that his life might be in danger when Fox News asked them to play as part of their Flag Day celebration.

But hey it's fucking Fox News, and since we know they have no journalistic integrity, why would we think they might worry about protecting bystanders from flying axes?

Woman purchases gun in anticipation of violent protests in Ferguson, instead shoots herself in the head.

Courtesy of CNN:

A woman appears to have accidentally fatally shot herself in the head with a gun bought to prepare for possible Ferguson-related unrest, according to sources briefed on the police investigation.

The female victim, identified in a police report as Becca Campbell, 26, was a passenger in a car involved in an auto accident.

Her 33-year-old boyfriend was driving, the sources told CNN. The boyfriend, who wasn't identified, told police that the couple had bought a gun because of fears of unrest related to the pending grand jury decision on the shooting of Michael Brown, the sources said.

He told investigators that as they drove late Friday night, the victim waved a gun, jokingly saying the couple were ready for Ferguson, the sources said.

He ducked to get out of the way of the gun and accidentally rear-ended another car.

He said the accident caused the gun to go off and she was struck by a bullet in the head, the sources said. The victim was rushed to a hospital but died.

That may be one of the dumbest death by handgun stories I have ever read.

Guns in the hands of untrained amateurs does not make anybody safer. But it certainly puts the person with the gun, and everybody around them, at greater risk.

It kind of makes me wonder how many bullets will fly once this Grand Jury decision is released.

The most threatened President in US history, with what seems to be the least amount of protection.

Courtesy of Slate:

When a man carrying a knife was able to jump the fence and sprint into the front door of the White House, many said it was symptomatic of larger issues with the Secret Service. A fascinating Washington Post piece today makes it clear just how true that is, recounting how it took four days for the Secret Service to even realize that someone had fired shots at the White House and that seven bullets had struck the upstairs residence in 2011. President Obama and his wife were out of town at the time but their younger daughter Sasha was at home with Michelle Obama’s mother. And Malia was expected back home any minute.

When Oscar Ortega-Hernandez, a man who appeared increasingly paranoid about the U.S. government and seemingly obsessed with how President Obama “had to be stopped,” fired his semiautomatic rifle out of his car, Secret Service agents were quick to respond. But they were told to stand down, with superiors saying no shots had actually been fired. Even though agents seemed to know that was clearly not true—a pair of agents said they could smell gunpowder while another had heard debris fall from the Truman balcony—they stayed quiet, apparently out of fear of angering their superiors. In the end the conclusion was that two rival gangs had gotten into a gunfight near the White House lawn.

It was only when a housekeeper found a broken window and a piece of concrete days later that agents began to realize what had happened. The president and first lady were understandably furious. Once the Secret Service actually started investigating, they quickly realized this was no small matter, finding $97,000 worth of damage.

Mother Jones chimes in reminding us that President Obama has received three times as many threats as previous Presidents. Which of course is not surprising since virtually half of the country does not believe his presidency is valid, with a slightly smaller number not even believing that he was born in this country.

One would think that with the White House resident receiving this vast number of threats that the Secret Service would rise to the occasion and take extra precautions to ensure his safety, and yet there have been numerous cases, including the Colombian prostitution scandal, when it seems that this most respected of security forces seem to be simply phoning it.

I think it is time that somebody cleaned a little house, and perhaps made sure that the people who are the front line of defense in protecting the Commander-in-Chief took their job a little more seriously than those hired to protect clothing outlets in the malls of middle America.

Sarah Palin takes on Richard Dawkins over remarks about aborting children with Down Syndrome. Update!

Palin posted the above graphic and then followed it up with this:

Mr. Dawkins, I'd let you meet my son if you promised to open your mind, your eyes, and your heart to a unique kind of absolute beauty. But, in my request for you to be tolerant, I’d have to warn Trig he must be tolerant, too, because he may superficially look at you as kind of awkward. I'll make sure he's polite, though!

Love,

Sarah Palin & family

On the face of it one would think that Palin is in the right in this confrontation of Dawkins.

And in some ways she might be.

However what has to be remembered is that Dawkins is a scientist and his thinking is purely logical.

Which he attempted to explain in several tweets following the dust up on Twitter:

Professor Dawkins made a few rather unfortunate errors.

One is in forgetting that the things he tweets will be seen by EVERYBODY, and not simply the person to whom he is responding.

And the second was in not taking into consideration how the incredibly irrational anti-abortion groups would be in response to his advice.

Now the difference between Dawkins and Palin is that Dawkins is being completely truthful in his response, and she is simply seizing on this as a way to insert herself into a conversation that has nothing to do with her personally and to also kinda play the victim while utilizing on of her favorite props.

My take is that Dawkins should have expressed his feelings in an e-mail instead of on Twitter.

However as somebody who has worked with children who have Downs I can certainly attest to the challenges that they face, the incredible strain on their families, and that I have heard more than one exhausted parent sobbing that if they had it all to do over, they might have chosen not to bring this particular child into the world.

There are many wonderful success stories of children with Down syndrome succeeding belong all expectations. But for every one of those there  are about a hundred others where there was no fairy tale ending, and their lives have been rife with medical problems, frustrating disabilities, and despair.

Those are just the facts, and Richard Dawkins is obviously well aware of them.

Update: It looks like this is going to be a family affair

Did you guys see this? Richard Dawkins, probably the worlds’ most famous and influential atheist, just told a woman that it was “immoral” to give birth to a baby with Down’s Syndrome.

Immoral for my Mom not to kill her own son?

I’ll make this simple: We love Trig. He brings us joy, and I know that he has a joyful life.

Do you think the fact that they keep hammering home that "immoral" word is a sly shot at little ole me?

Artillery shell fired in gun show travels three miles before striking resident's home in Oklahoma.

Courtesy of KOAM TV:

A homeowner in Wyandotte, Oklahoma is awaiting damage assessments after an artillery shell entered his home.

It was fired at the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot and Trade Show on Saturday, around 3 miles a way.

Homeowner Gene Kelley could not fathom what he found after hearing a large crash inside his home.

"It's unbelievable," Kelley said. "Unless you were here to see it or see the pictures I've got, you would not believe how huge this thing is."

A 105 howitzer artillery shell, 14 and a half inches long and 3 and a half inches across, was lying on his bedroom floor.

It entered from the outside wall, hit the ceiling, and damaged another wall, all while he and his wife were home.

"Fortunately, nobody was hurt," Kelley said.

Homeowners say if the shell had not first hit a tree limb and then the ground, the impact would have been a lot more severe when it hit the house.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department says the shell came from a historic artillery canon fired at the gun show.

The gun range owner says the weapon was fired safely by professionals at a downward projection.

"It was not on a level plane, but on a downward trend, pointed downhill in the bottom of a valley," said Mike Friend, Owner of Fast Machine Gun Shoot. "For that thing to rise and go far northwest of the range, it's just unheard of."

Both he and the homeowner describe it as an absurd occurrence.

An "absurd occurrence?" How absurd would they think it was if that shell had hit and killed somebody's child?

You know I have been to military shows where there were cannons fired that held blanks, which made an impressive boom but no shell was fired. I simply do not understand the thinking which went into the decision to live fire a howitzer.

What is that saying? It's all fun and games until somebody gets hit with a howitzer shell?

On the other hand I am sure the ammosexuals who attended that show creamed their pants when the howitzer fired. That is like a bullet riddles bukkake for those folks.

Man shoots himself minutes after leaving gun safety class. Did you guess this was in Florida? Good for you.

Courtesy of The Palm Beach Post:

Officers responded to the area of South Congress Avenue and Neptune Drive where a man said he had accidentally shot himself. He was found sitting in the bed of his pickup with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He told police he’d just left a firearms safety class and pulled over to inspect his new Glock 17 handgun. He said he removed the magazine and was manipulating the slide when the gun discharged. He was treated by fire-rescue at the scene, then taken to an area hospital.

Does this mean he earned and F?

I always thought that lesson one in any good firearms class was that you always handle every gun as if it was loaded.

Lesson two should be that you never play with your gun sitting next to a busy street.

This could have been much, much worse if that bullet had struck a passing car or hit a child playing on the street.

This leads me to believe that either the safety class this guy took was woefully inadequate, or he simply is not somebody intelligent enough to be trusted with a firearm.

AR-15 stolen from house of North Carolina Congresswoman, and 2nd Amendment advocate, Renee Ellmers. I am sure the person who took it will only use it to promote freedom, right?

Courtesy of the Newsobserver:

U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers’ husband reported an AR-15 rifle stolen from the family’s home in Dunn last week, according to a police report.

The weapon had been left leaning against a gun locker in an unlocked garage on Kingsway Drive, the report said.

The rifle, a gun case and a GPS, with a cumulative value of $1,100, were reported stolen, according to Chief J.D. Pope. Police think the theft happened on the night of Oct. 15.

“According to the report, they had been out target shooting and brought the gun back and leaned it against the gun safe,” Pope said. “ … The garage door was left unsecured, according to the report.”

The case remains under investigation and likely will be treated as a burglary, he said. Ellmers’ husband, Brent Ellmers, was listed as the victim, Pope said.

As you have probably already guessed Ellmers received an endorsement from the NRA back in 2010, and of course has voted against any silly bills that might impede a patriotic citizen from getting their hands on military style weapons, and even spoke out about President Obama's desire to introduce some reasonable restrictions:

"President Obama is once again exploiting a tragedy for political gain and eroding our constitutional rights for the sake of an extreme liberal agenda. We need to have a serious discussion on how we can prevent troubled individuals from carrying out their insane intentions. But attacking our legal rights and liberties through abusive executive orders destroys the very principles that have protected our citizens from oppressive government power for over 236 years."

So EVERYBODY in the country has the right to own a gun in Rep. Ellmers opinion. Unless of course they are a troubled individual with "insane intentions."

Hmm, I wonder what the mental condition is of the person now in possession of her family's AR-15? Kind of too late to evaluate that now isn't it?

Perhaps somebody should have told Rep. Ellmers that the only thing that REALLY stops a bad guy with a gun, is somebody keeping him from getting that gun in the first place.

P.S. By the way can YOU guess who endorsed Ellmers back in 2010? I betcha can!
