While Donald Trump prepares to meet Vladimir Putin there is evidence to suggest that Russian hackers are attacking our power grid.

Hackers working for a foreign government recently breached at least a dozen U.S. power plants, including the Wolf Creek nuclear facility in Kansas, according to current and former U.S. officials, sparking concerns the attackers were searching for vulnerabilities in the electrical grid. 

The rivals could be positioning themselves to eventually disrupt the nation’s power supply, warned the officials, who noted that a general alert was distributed to utilities a week ago. Adding to those concerns, hackers recently infiltrated an unidentified company that makes control systems for equipment used in the power industry, an attack that officials believe may be related. 

The chief suspect is Russia, according to three people familiar with the continuing effort to eject the hackers from the computer networks. One of those networks belongs to an aging nuclear generating facility known as Wolf Creek -- owned by Westar Energy Inc., Great Plains Energy Inc. and Kansas Electric Power Cooperative Inc. -- on a lake shore near Burlington, Kansas.

The New York Times also reports that there is evidence the hackers are Russian:  

The two people familiar with the investigation say that, while it is still in its early stages, the hackers’ techniques mimicked those of the organization known to cybersecurity specialists as “Energetic Bear,” the Russian hacking group that researchers have tied to attacks on the energy sector since at least 2012.

Great so not only are the Russians undermining our democracy, but now there is evidence that they are trying to find a way to leave us completely in the dark.

And of course this was not brought up today during the highly anticipated Putin/Trump meetup.

So Putin was not confronted, and they essentially have a green light to continue doing what they have been doing without fear of retaliation.

So as some of you realize we have been dealing with some very serious windstorms up here in the Great Land.

Two weeks ago I lost my electricity for almost two days, and last night I lost power repeatedly.

The wind has been blowing so hard that it has blown away everything not nailed down.

For instance here is my neighbor's tree.

And here is a copse of trees we saw along the bike path which were completely uprooted.

The entire group was laying across another neighbor's fence.

And another one just down the street.

However the wind has not simply been blowing the hell out of Anchorage, it has also extended out to Palmer. This is video that my friend Dennis Zaki took about two hours ago out in Palmer, which is about forty three miles away.

Did you hear that wind? That is what it has been like outside of my window for weeks now.

That giant tree you see laying across the ground is just one of the many trees that Dennis has had crash down on his property, and there are a number of other giant trees uncomfortably close to his rather tiny cabin.

Anyhow that is what it has been like up here for the last three weeks, off and on. So if I suddenly disappear from the internet for several hours at some point in the near future you will probably have some understanding as to why.

I love Alaska, I just love it better when it is not picking shit up and throwing it at my house.

However THIS is the kind of education endorsed by Fundamentalist Christan families all over this country.  Because you know what they say, an ignorant voter is a Republican voter.

By the way just in case there are any young people visiting here who suffered such a woeful education, let me illuminate you on the REAL source of electricity on this planet.

I will even use a website that caters to children so that you can understand it:

Electricity is related to charges, and both electrons and protons carry a charge. The amount of the charge is the same for each particle, but opposite in sign. Electrons carry a negative charge while protons carry positive charge. The objects around us contain billions and billions of atoms, and each atom contains many protons and electrons. The protons are located in the center of the atom, concentrated in a small area called the nucleus. The electrons are in motion outside of the nucleus in orbitals. The protons are basically trapped inside the nucleus and can't escape the nucleus. As a result, it is moving electrons that are primarily responsible for electricity.

See? There you go. All completely natural and verifiable and no supernatural explanation necessary.

Of course it may still confuse certain Christians, especially those that do not trust in science.  After all atoms cannot be seen with the naked eye and as we all know Christians do not believe in things which they cannot see for themselves, right?
