The Moment of Zen we ALL deserve, featuring Barack Obama.

If that did not put a smile on your face or a tear in your eye than you may not be human.

What's more the hashtag #BringBackObama was trending all day yesterday.
I knew he was a great man while he was in office, but I swear since he has been out I am beginning to think that we simply did not fully appreciate what we had.

And I would give almost ANYTHING to have him back.

After the debates the #Trumpwon hashtag appears on Twitter. Originating from Russia. Update: Oops.

They're not even trying to be cagey about the connection between Russia and Donald Trump anymore.

I would not be surprised if some future Trump advertisement just features him and Vladimir hanging out at Mar-a-Lago playing pool and talking about how much they both hate reporters and fact checkers.

Update: Okay so it was bound to happen eventually, but it looks like I fell for a false story about this tweet.

According to the Washington Post, the tweet did not originate in Russia.

Of course that does nothing to minimize the fact that Russia has hacked data and released it to benefit Donald Trump, and that Putin and he seem to be butt buddies, but this one story at least seems to be false.

Sorry.

Investigating Don Young's apparent murder spree.

So as most of you know Alaska's sole congressman , Don Young, recently told his Democratic challenger that, "The last guy who touched me ended up on the ground dead."

I think a lot of people took this to be mere rhetoric, from an old coot, who likes to talk tough.

But I am not so sure.

After all this was the last person that we know of to touch Don Young.

So here's my question. Has anybody seen this guy since?

Because I sure haven't.

I seriously think that this needs to be investigated more thoroughly.

After all I live in a state where killing people, and hiding their bodies, is almost a cottage industry.

This place is huge and there is no telling just how many people Don Young may have murdered and hidden away in the remote corners of the state. And let's face it, the guy has a history of losing his temper for really no good reason.

That is why I have reached out to Don Young on Twitter to ask for clarification.
And just in case he does not think I am being serious.
Because I am.
As an Alaskan I cannot simply sit idly by while this maniac gets away with murder.

I would like to suggest that every reporter who gets the chance to interview this lunatic to ask him to clarify his statements.

Until that happens I suggest that those of you on Twitter simply ask him for a response using the hashtag #Whodidyoukill. After all we cannot have a confessed murder in Congress now can we?

Sarah Palin slinging hashtags for pig mutilator Joni Ernst.

Courtesy of the Wasilla Wendigo's Facebook page:

Todd and I are ‪#‎OnDutyForJoni‬ Ernst as she steps away from the Iowa campaign trail to continue her service to our country in uniform. Joni is a strong conservative running a positive, optimistic campaign for U.S. Senate in the Hawkeye State, and she’s had our full support for many months now.

Todd? Wait Todd is an Ernst supporter as well?

Wow, what a coincidence.

And BOY does he look enthusiastic about lending his support.

It's almost as if he really has no choice and is told who to support, what to say,  and when to get his damn picture taken.

However you cannot blame Palin for pulling hard on Toad's choke collar, after all Ernst might be the only Palin endorsee to stand an actual a chance of winning her race this election cycle.

P.S. What do you think Todd is thinking in that picture?

I feel a caption contest coming on.

Stephen Colbert responds to the #CancelColbert controversy. And even makes it entertaining.

Courtesy of Salon:

Stephen Colbert is dealing with the fallout from a tweet sent out on his show’s behalf — and doing so on-air by imagining his show really getting cancelled.

Last week, the Twitter feed @ColbertReport, affiliated with the Comedy Central series, tweeted an out-of-context joke from a segment mocking the Washington Redskins’ owner and his attempts to reach out to the Native American community without changing his team’s offensive name. The #CancelColbert hashtag immediately caught fire, and Colbert opened his show by depicting the studio shutting down… his writers walking out dejected… Manhattan freezing over… the famous 1970s-ad Native American shedding a single tear… all manner of dystopia.

The actor B. D. Wong, himself Asian, appeared as a therapist of sorts to explain to Colbert, dressed in Redskins regalia and lying on a couch, that he was having a horrible dream. “This is still ‘The Colbert Report,’” Colbert announced.

It was, all in all, a pretty audacious gambit — to openly mock those who’d sought to get Colbert fired by rubbing in their face that it’d never happen, and to bring in one of America’s most prominent actors of Asian extraction to aid in a non-apology. In his opening monologue, following an audience chant (“Ste-phen! Ste-phen!”) Colbert joked about how offensive it was that his shoes were made in Vietnam (rather than in China) and how upset he was that iPhone’s emojis are growing more diverse thanks to the “P.C. police.”

And, yes, Colbert directly addressed the controversy: In a segment called “Who’s Attacking Me Now,” Colbert joked that “we almost lost” and then went through just how the controversy went down, through a sort of mirror-world reality whereby “Colbert,” the conservative on-air persona, saw his attempts to support his fictitious and racist alter ego get misinterpreted online.

I was hoping that Colbert would take this and run with it, and he did it spectacularly.

He managed to take advantage of the "controversy" to continue to point out the hypocrisy of going after him and leaving the Redskin's new "out reach" to the native American community virtually untouched.

If you did not see the show last night I highly suggest that you click the links provided above and enjoy seeing the master at work.
