President Donald Trump bemoaned a decision not to investigate Hillary Clinton after the 2016 presidential election, decrying a "rigged system" that still doesn't have the "right people" in place to fix it, during a freewheeling speech to Republican donors in Florida on Saturday.
In the closed-door remarks, a recording of which was obtained by CNN, Trump also praised China's President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn't mind making such a maneuver himself.
"He's now president for life. President for life. No, he's great," Trump said. "And look, he was able to do that. I think it's great. Maybe we'll have to give that a shot some day."
The remarks, delivered inside the ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago estate during a lunch and fundraiser, were upbeat, lengthy, and peppered with jokes and laughter. But Trump's words reflected his deeply felt resentment that his actions during the 2016 campaign remain under scrutiny while those of his former rival, Hillary Clinton, do not.
"I'm telling you, it's a rigged system folks," Trump said. "I've been saying that for a long time. It's a rigged system. And we don't have the right people in there yet. We have a lot of great people, but certain things, we don't have the right people."
What President Xi did was push to abolish term limits, effectively making him China's leader for life.
If President Obama had even hinted at such a thing, there would be outrage echoing throughout Washington, and it would be subject one on every Sunday morning talk show in the country.
Especially if the public were aware of what was in this Washington Post report as well:
Inside the White House, aides over the past week have described an air of anxiety and volatility — with an uncontrollable commander in chief at its center.
These are the darkest days in at least half a year, they say, and they worry just how much farther President Trump and his administration may plunge into unrest and malaise before they start to recover. As one official put it: “We haven’t bottomed out.”
Trump is now a president in transition, at times angry and increasingly isolated. He fumes in private that just about every time he looks up at a television screen, the cable news headlines are trumpeting yet another scandal. He voices frustration that son-in-law Jared Kushner has few on-air defenders. He revives old grudges. And he confides to friends that he is uncertain about whom to trust.
In an unorthodox presidency in which emotion, impulse and ego often drive events, Trump’s ominous moods manifested themselves last week in his zigzagging positions on gun control; his shock trade war that jolted markets and was opposed by Republican leaders and many in his own administration; and his roiling feud of playground insults with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Retired four-star Army general Barry McCaffrey said the American people — and Congress especially — should be alarmed.
“I think the president is starting to wobble in his emotional stability and this is not going to end well,” McCaffrey said. “Trump’s judgment is fundamentally flawed, and the more pressure put on him and the more isolated he becomes, I think, his ability to do harm is going to increase.”
Trump is becoming increasingly isolated within that White House, feeling abandoned and increasingly mistrustful, left only with his increasing madness to keep him company.
Even his attempts at levity are tinged with darkness and insecurities.

President Donald Trump joked about impeachment, Jared Kushner’s security clearance and Melania Trump leaving him as he attended his first Gridiron Club dinner, a highly formal and traditional event full of the news media he often dubs “fake news.”
A number of his quips made fun of the atmosphere in the West Wing after a chaotic week, what with more staff departures and rumors of more to come.
“It’s been really another calm week at the White House,” he quipped. “We finally have it running like a fine-tuned machine.”
He was joined on the dais by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, and the most controversial joke of the evening involved her.
“I like turnover. I like chaos. It really is good. Now the question everybody keeps asking is, ‘Who is going to be the next to leave? Steve Miller or Melania?”
Trump is known for saying out loud the things that are bothering him or frightening him, and then attempting to pass them off as jokes.
Trump also tried to joke about Jared Kushner's security clearance, the attention Mike Pence pays to news about impeachment, and his difficult relationship with Jeff Sessions.
You do not have to have a PHD in Psychology to recognize that he finds none of those topics actually humorous.
Trump is crumbling before our eyes.
And we can only hope that when he finally snaps, he does not take the whole country down with him.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Four year old girl expresses the emotions that I think a lot of us are feeling.
Courtesy of the Daily Mail:
The majority of Americans learn from an early age that their presidents are constitutionally limited to serve two terms.
But the news came as a shock to one four-year-old girl who burst into tears when she discovered President Obama would soon be leaving office.
Abella Tomlin, from Beaverton, Oregon, was told the news by her mother, who had been listening to speeches at the Democratic National Convention in the car.
Andrea explained: 'Abella has been an Obama fan since day one. She has grown up with him as a hero in our household, and as such has always talked about how much she loves him.
'I was just listening to the DNC speeches, and she asked me what they were talking about.
'So I explained to her that the country is getting ready to elect a new president.
'She immediately had tears running down her face and explained to me that Barack Obama was our president and how could we get a new one when we already had one.'
Somehow I get the feeling that a whole bunch of people in this country will be sharing a similar reaction once President Obama leaves office.
Like this little girl I also think that Hillary will do a good job, but let's face it a President like Obama is a once in a lifetime gift.
I actually think that a lot of the people who said nasty things about him are going to miss having him in charge of the country as well. But of course few of them will ever admit it.

I totally sympathize with this little girl. Update!
Courtesy of YouTube:
Adorable little girl sobs realizing Obama is leaving office. He's the only president she's ever had in her life. Her grandmother comforts her by telling her that they'll write him.
Trust me when I see what the choices are in 2016, I wish President Obama could run for a third term as well.
Update: President Obama responds to his little girl because...well because he is President Obama.
Courtesy of HuffPo:
In a Facebook comment on the video posted by the girl's grandmother, Caprina Harris, the president told the young girl, who shares a birthday with Obama, that once he left office, he wasn't going anywhere.
"Caprina, tell her to dry her tears, because I'm not going anywhere. Once I leave the White House, I'll still be a citizen just like her," Obama wrote. "And when she grows up, she can get involved right alongside me. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for her letter, and we'll always get to celebrate our birthdays together!"
And now I'm going to miss him even more.

President Obama: "I think if I ran again, I could win."
Courtesy of CNN:
President Barack Obama said Tuesday that he could win a third term in office if he ran again but that he is barred by the Constitution.
"I think if I ran again I could win. But I can't!" Obama said.
Obama's quip came during a speech to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the first address to the group by a U.S. president.
Damn you can almost hear the conservative heads exploding at this very thought.
But you know what? He's right!
There is not one of the current crop of GOP presidential hopefuls that are worthy to lick this man's shoes, much less replace him in office.
And I think he would handily beat both Hillary or Bernie as this point as well.
Kinda makes you secretly wish somebody would change the term limit doesn't it?
Or is that just me?

Sarah Palin takes four minutes to tell her subscribers that she does not know what she thinks about term limits.
I was actually looking for something else when I stumbled across this episode of "Ask Me Anything" from the Sarah Palin Channel.
Essentially it demonstrates the kind of meandering, undisciplined manner in which Palin actually ponders questions that she does not understand, when there is no script in front of her to keep her focused.
You might think that she would do a little research, and have an actual response, before turning on the cameras. But nope, that is how the Leftists respond to questions, not crazy self described "constitutional conservatives."
My favorite part is that she is so disinterested in the topic that in the last moments she actually pulls out her cell phone and starts checking it while she is still talking.
And remember, people are paying her to provide this kind of content.
Now compare that to her recent appearance on Fox News yesterday when she was still pushing for John Boehner to be replaced.
Can you believe she said "balls to the walls?" So classy.
Did you see her bounce up and smile from ear to ear when Stuart Varney suggests that she won her debate against PETA?
Sickening.
Especially after she doubled down on the "At least Trig didn't eat the dog" remark.

Yeah I am not sure exactly what he is saying, or who he is saying it to. But I am pretty sure his handlers would really like him to stop using Twitter.
