This is an actual headline over on the Drudge Report.

No, I'm serious. It is. (Well it was, probably changed by now.)

You know I was looking forward to the return of SNL, but I am not even sure we need them to parody this election season.

The whole damn thing feels like a parody of itself.

The Drudge Report finally goes too far even for conservatives.

Courtesy of Business Insider:

Those were the three words that blared across the Drudge Report early Friday morning after five Dallas police officers were killed in a horrific ambush attack.

And immediately upon seeing the race-baiting headline, conservatives rebelled against a once-reliable ally who has become more and more divisive to them over the course of the 2016 campaign.

“In moments like these, we should do the opposite of what Drudge is doing,” Commentary Magazine Editor Noah Rothman wrote on Twitter.

“Responsible reporting as always,” sarcastically tweeted Jeff Blehar, from the popular Ace of Spades blog.

Others piled on.

Allahpundit, an influential anonymous conservative blogger, skewered the site for a subsequent banner headline claiming a “black power group” had claimed responsibility for the attack.

“Dallas chief says suspect told them before he died that he wasn’t part of a group,” the blogger wrote.

Even the husband of the Palin family's favorite ghostwriter chimed in.
Apparently there was already distrust brewing among conservatives when it came to Drudge due to is over the top support for Trump.  Which of course included making excuses for, or defending, his racist comments.

It seems to me that the nomination of Donald Trump has really forced the Republican party to face some rather unsavory truths about themselves.

So either they have to accept the fact that much of their base is driven by racism, or they have to work to change that rather inconvenient truth.

Or, I guess the third option would be to carry on like Dakota Meyer and the rest of the Palin family and simply refuse to believe that the fault lies with them, and instead turn it around and blame it on those who are subjected to the racism, the party that works to end that racism, or the President whose very existence brought all of out into the open.

The Drudge Report links to an article about the big opening of the newest "Planet of the Apes" movie this weekend. What happens next will disgust and anger you.

There you see the link at the bottom.

No biggie, right? I mean after all the Drudge Report covers all kinds of breaking news, not just news that undermines the President or attacks Democrats.

But check out what immediately shows up in the comments over at the Hollywood Reporter which have to be seen to be believed.

There's more but I am to disgusted to post them. You can find the rest here.

Of course there is no actual proof that these comments came from devotees of the Drudge Report, but it is dead certain they did not come from readers of any progressive blogs or news sites.

This is exactly the kind of racism that conservatives are always denying that they tolerate.

Yet when the internet offers them anonymity.......

Sarah Palin launches a preemptive strike, on the same social media outlet used by teenage girls to tell their friends they got a hickie, to warn Americans not to listen to those liberals on Turkey day.

Courtesy of Sarah "I sleep with a picture of Ronald Reagan stuffed into my grannie panties" Palin's ghostwritten Facebook page:

They’re still pulling the wool over some eyes, friends. So let’s call them out yet again. I was recently interviewed on Fox News Sunday. One question I answered was prefaced with the supposed “fact” that “30 million MORE people will be covered by Obamacare.” That statistic is about as credible a promise as “if you like your health care plan you can keep your health care plan.”  (In fact that statistic is true, and identifies the millions of Americans who currently are unable to get health insurance through their employers, or on their own due to preexisting conditions or poverty.)

Obamacare is presently hitting people who buy insurance on the individual market because they may not receive health coverage through their employers. It’s hurting millions! But you ain’t seen nuthin' yet. Just wait until the Obamacare employer mandate kicks in next year. As I told Fox News Sunday, despite what the White House and media report, tens of millions more Americans are set to lose their employer provided insurance plans. The ramifications of this WILL fundamentally transform America.

The article linked today at the top of Drudge confirms my point, which is significant because my point was mocked until this article confirmed it. Headline: “Almost 80 million with employer health care plans could have coverage canceled, experts predict.” (It should be pointed out that this is based on an "analysis" conducted by the American Enterprise Institute, a right wing "think tank" that is in the business of coming up with talking points to discredit the ACA.)

Companies that provide health insurance plans that aren’t compliant with new burdensome Obamacare mandates will obviously decide it’s cheaper to dump employees into the government-run Obamacare exchanges and pay the penalty than try to provide an expensive Obamacare-approved plan. (That is NOT obvious, and though it could be a plan in the short run, and remember there is no evidence of any company considering it as of yet, it will soon prove to be a bad business model because health care plans are often part of a package of incentives provided when hiring new employees so it does not seem viable in the long run to not attempt to upgrade the health insurance plans provided by the employer to compete with the ones that individuals can purchase on their own.)

No one in America will be left unscathed by Obamacare. Please trust me on this. (No, I certainly will NOT trust you.) The media can repeat all the bogus White House stats they want about false claims like the individual mandate “only affects 5% of the public,” but they can’t change reality – NUMBERS DON'T LIE – and America is about to get “mugged by reality” very soon, to paraphrase Irving Kristol. (No "numbers don't lie" but semantics do. In this context Palin and the Right Wing keep talking about Americans "losing their health care insurance," when the more accurate wording would be that their health care plans will change, and almost entirely for the better. Yes there will be a segment of the population who will have to pay more, but many will be able to pay less. And what is more important, and the purpose of the law, is that now about 30 million people who could not afford health insurance will finally have access. Though that number has been reduced due to the Republican governors who refused to expand Medicaid in their states.)

Far from providing more Americans with insurance, Obamacare is ironically hurting the very people it was sold to as some kind of health care savior. More people will choose to pay the IRS penalty and go without insurance because they can’t afford the increased rates slamming them (This is a Right Wing talking point that is based on nothing but wishful thinking.), plus they now have fewer options in this one-size-fits-all expensive bureaucratic exchange which forces people to buy coverage for things they don’t want nor need. (Having those medical procedures that the insured does not specifically need covered in the plans does NOT significantly raise the premiums, especially since they are included in everybody's plan now.) We’re talking about one-sixth more of our economy controlled now by big government, remember.

Do not forget that Obamacare contains health care rationing. When I warned America about “death panels,” I was denounced as a liar. But now the reality of “death panels” is openly admitted, even touted by some liberals as their solution. (WTF?) Just yesterday yet another prominent liberal media lapdog joined the chorus in finally admitting that death panel-style rationing is “built into the plan. It's not like a guess or like a judgment. That's going to be part of how costs are controlled." This guy and his ilk need to apologize to all of you, NOW, who knew what I was talking about, repeated my warnings, and were mocked and criticized for it. (Don't hold your breath.)

Okay this took me awhile to figure out who this idiot was talking about, and WHY she would not simply mention his name. But as it turned out she was talking about Mark Halperin, one of the authors of Game Change. (Which explains why she would not allow his name to be mentioned on her Facebook page.)  Halperin appeared on some crazy Right Wing news site and stated that there was rationing "built into the plan." This was his response on Twitter to all of the Right Wing hullabaloo:

Of course as Talking Points pointed out Haplerin was wrong about this as well:

The law explicitly prohibits the Independent Payment Advisory Board — which aims to control costs — from rationing health care.

Of course it is too late now, because Palin is feeling vindicated and now she, or rather her ghostwriter, is on a roll.

The truth is the “enlightened ones” knew all along that rationing was in the plan. They were angry with me for saying it out loud. The twin pillars of Obamacare have always been redistribution and rationing. Take away one of those pillars and the whole thing crumbles. That’s why Obamacare is doomed. (Doomed! doomed I say!) You were smart enough to know that, while they were arrogant enough to keep up a deceitful ruse until their White House control was guaranteed. They’re busted now, though. And that’s why they’re scrambling to distract you and hope you won’t realize how enormously important upcoming elections are to save our economy.

The redistribution aspect will be Obamacare’s undoing. Not enough young or healthy people will apply for Obamacare because it’s simply unaffordable. (And that is what the Right Wing is counting on and the reason for the memo distributed by House Republicans.) It makes NO economic sense for them to voluntarily sign up. They’ll choose to pay the IRS fine instead. This will bankrupt the whole Ponzi scheme, which is premised on young and healthy people paying for those who are sick or have pre-existing conditions. And when Obamacare fails, the left will push to have us move to full socialized medicine under a so-called “single payer plan.” This is exactly what Barack Obama touted as a candidate, as did many of his bureaucratic appointees, but the media glossed over that all these years.

Friends, the only way to fix Obamacare is to scrap this stuffed turkey and start over with genuine free market (How is are the health care exchanges NOT free market?), patient-centered reforms that allow people to purchase insurance across state lines, enact tort reform, and give individual insurance buyers the same breaks we give employer provided insurance. And we need to elect leaders who will fight for us to get it done. Keep all of this in mind this week as we break for Thanksgiving. Be warned the White House is arming leftist supporters with “talking points” to try to convince family and friends around the Thanksgiving table that Obamacare is the greatest thing since sliced pumpkin bread.  (Yep, I've got mine here.) You should politely let them know you’re not swallowing that turkey. (Damn somebody had a lot of Red Bull last night!)

Thank you for doing your own homework, for trusting the truth I've expressed, and for refusing to let the “enlightened ones” keep America in the dark. (Yeah don't listen to smart people, simply believe the "truth" Sarah Palin has expressed. Where have I seen a similar plea?)

- Sarah Palin

Here allow me to sum up what this post is REALLY trying to say.

"Please, please, don't listen to those liberal blogs talking about the fact that I no longer live in Alaska with my family, and that my book tour is failing, and that the Pope just pooped all over the conservative movement in this country. Look, Obamacare! Look Benghazi! Look, anywhere but at what a loser I am."

Sarah Palin sells little over 20,000 books in first week of highly promoted book tour. Update!

This according to the Drudge Report:

BOOK SALES RACE, WEEK 11/17/13: RUSH LIMBAUGH 'BRAVE' REMAINS #1 WITH 52,463 SOLD [300,400 SINCE RELEASE]... O'REILLY 'JESUS' IN SECOND AFTER SCANNING 49,069 [645,976]... MORE... KRAUTHAMMER 'MATTER' TAKES SHOW WITH 40,598 [131,713]... DUCK DYNASTY 'SI-COLOGY' 26,934 [347,811]... DORIS GOODWIN 'THEODORE' 22,268 [47,571]... PALIN 'GREAT' OPENS WITH 20,157 (Note that the other authors listed are on their second, third, and sometimes fourth week of publication. Not their first.)

Gee even after subjecting herself to interviews on the Today Show, CNN, and USA Today she still cannot convince anyone outside of her rapidly shrinking group of supporters. (For context it should be noted that "Going Rogue" sold in excess of 2 million books, most of which were sold in the first few weeks.)

Also keep in mind that the sales for these conservative books are artificially padded through the use of bulk sales to conservative groups who then give them away with donations or subscription to their periodicals or websites. So the question to ask is, are they still doing that for Palin? Or are they doing it in a far less aggressive fashion due to her fading popularity?

By the by, I think that THIS, and not the Bashir controversy, is the main reason why Palin is taking back her invitation to have Matt Lauer fly up to Alaska to interview her.

Or perhaps it was HE who determined that it was a waste of his time, and NBC resources, to fly all the way to Alaska to interview a has been who is no longer relevant to anything or anybody.

Update: As if to illustrate Palin's diminished popularity, here is Bill O'Reilly telling Howard Kurtz that Palin is too afraid to come on his program:

BILL O'REILLY: Let's just be frank here. You want to be frank, Howard? You want to be honest? Sarah Palin won't do this program. She won't come on the program because she doesn't want to mix it up. She doesn't. She wants to give a speech, and nobody gives speeches here. Okay? So she doesn't come on. We invited her on tonight. You're here instead. But I don't begrudge Sarah Palin that. She can come on. She doesn't come on, she does come on, whatever she wants to do. Okay? Fine.

You know when the top rated host of the Right Wing cable news station/Republican propaganda machine that once employed you, feels he can slam you like this, you are essentially finished.

Five previous scandals that were going to destroy President Obama.

"Really? They have ANOTHER scandal?"
Courtesy of The National Memo:

Throughout the past week, revelations regarding the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups, the Department of Justice’s decision to subpoena the phone records of over 100 Associated Press journalists, and the Republican Party’s continued obsession with a supposed cover-up in Benghazi have left President Barack Obama on the defensive. As a result, many in the media are speculating that the president has been fatally wounded politically, and Republicans are openly discussing impeachment.

This is not the first time they have predicted Obama’s demise, however. In fact, the president’s four-plus years in office have been littered with “bombshells” that were supposed to destroy his credibility, only to land with a thud when presented to the American public.

After that the author  presents the other "career ending" scandals that were heralded by the conservatives as signaling the death knell of this Presidency.

Fast and Furious.

Solyndra.

You Didn't Build That!

Obama's "Other Race Speech."

The Birth Certificate.

"Yeah maybe THOSE did not bring down the Muslim-in-Chief, but SURELY 'Umbrellagate' will finally drive the stake through the heart of this most corrupt Presidency in American history." Said the most ignorant closeted racists in the country.

No I don't think that these sad little conspiracy theories are going to result in impeachment or any significant damage to Obama's presidency, but they WILL continue to drive money into the campaign coffers of various Right Wing politicians so the real problem is that scandals do not have to be true, or even ultimately damaging, in order to have an impact on the politics in America.

I would only hope that for every dollar that goes into Mitch McConnell's campaign fund due to this kind of garbage, that two dollars go into the campaign fund of his opponent from people who are sick and tired of hearing about it ad nauseam.

Tennessee CEO threatens to "start killing people" if gun control legislation is passed. I don't think you're helping.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

The CEO of a Tennessee company that specializes weapons and tactical training is threatening to “start killing people” if President Barack Obama moves forward with gun control measures.

In a video posted to YouTube and Facebook on Wednesday, Tactical Response CEO James Yeager went ballistic over reports that the president could take executive action with minor gun control measures after the mass shooting of 20 school children in Connecticut last month.

After the Drudge Report likened Obama to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin on Wednesday, pro-gun conservatives expressed outrage over the idea that the White House could act without Congress.

“Vice President [Joe] Biden is asking the president to bypass Congress and use executive privilege, executive order to ban assault rifles and to impose stricter gun control,” Yeager explained in his video message. “Fuck that.”

“I’m telling you that if that happens, it’s going to spark a civil war, and I’ll be glad to fire the first shot. I’m not putting up with it. You shouldn’t put up with it. And I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you’re going to do, load your damn mags, make sure your rifle’s clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight.”

The CEO concluded: “I’m not fucking putting up with this. I’m not letting my country be ruled by a dictator. I’m not letting anybody take my guns! If it goes one inch further, I’m going to start killing people.”

Holy shit!

Do these morons have ANY idea of how their violence infused tantrums appear to rational Americans?  I mean does this guy REALLY think he has helped is cause by essentially helping to prove the point of those of us who want to take guns out of the hands of lunatics like him?

I have to tell you that if I were in law enforcement in Tennessee I would be getting a warrant based on this video and being paying Mr. Yeager a visit. OH an if possible, also taking away his guns, because clearly he is not in the correct frame of mind to possess them.

Gloria Allred might have October surprise for Mitt Romney? Well, well, well, isn't THAT interesting? Update!

Courtesy of Radar Online:

Is famed women's right attorney Gloria Allred about to pull an "October surprise" on Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney?

That's the thinking, after Drudge Report founder and respected politico, Matt Drudge, tweeted Thursday: "Here she comes. Hearing Gloria Allred out there again, about to make a move. After all, it's her time of the campaign. Team O at the ready!!"

Allred, an outspoken supporter of President Barack Obama refused to confirm, or deny, Drudge's prediction, telling RadarOnline.com: "I have no comment at this time about Mr. Drudge's Tweet. I don't discuss meetings with potential clients."

Oooh, that's pretty interesting.

Now I have no idea of Allred has anything or not but  one would think that she would simply dismiss any supposition unless she had something up her sleeve.

Unless of course she simply wanted to fuck with these people.

Well all I know is that I would not put ANYTHING past Mitt the Twit and I will be paying pretty close attention to see how this story develops.

Update: Could this be the brewing scandal? After all, Allred has a history of representing the maids of politicians.

Two high placed Romney advisers divulge plan to avoid real journalists and focus on disseminating information through rabid Right Wing blogs.

Apparently Romney is following in the high heeled footsteps of Sarah Palin and will avoid the risk of being asked any real questions, by limiting his media access to Right Wing propaganda outlets like the Drudge Report, Breitbart.com, and of course Fox News.

This from Breitbart.com (Don't feel the need to visit and give them hits unless you truly doubt the source of this post.):

Thursday's reaction to the Supreme Court decision on Obamacare was a textbook example of how the new media’s biggest players helped galvanize the center-right political movement. And it’s no surprise what website served as the catalyst for most of the energy: The Drudge Report.

"Drudge is the single most powerful force in the media today,” said Zac Moffat, Digital Director of the Romney Campaign. Lenny Alcivar, campaign spokesman, agreed: “The Governor's simple message yesterday was, ‘If we want to repeal Obamacare, we have to replace the president.’ When Drudge highlighted that quote as a headline linked to the Weekly Standard, it began the unified message across the board on the center-right.”

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Moffat and Alcivar discussed how websites like Breitbart and Drudge influence the way their campaign receives and delivers the news.

Moffat revealed, “I have two windows constantly up on my screen all day long, Twitter and the Drudge Report.”

Alcivar, who took a leave from the groundbreaking and influential Hynes Communications to work for the Romney campaign, sees a major shift in how the media works:

"When this election is over, one of the lessons that will be learned by the mainstream media is that they no longer have a toe-hold on how Americans receive their news. Never before – in a way that has taken Democrats off stride – have we seen the confluence of an aggressive online community, led by Breitbart, and an aggressive campaign team not willing to cede an inch of ground to Democrats. This combination has created a new political reality. We no longer allow the mainstream media to define the political realities in America. The rise of Breitbart, Drudge and others, combined with an aggressive Romney campaign is a powerful tool in the arsenal of the conservative movement. If I talk to Breitbart about an issue, thousands more will hear our message than if we give a quote to one of the hill rags."

As I am sure most of you remember, after Sarah Palin was humiliated on national television by Katie Couric who asked her the trick question. "What newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?," she avoided journalists WHO were not Palin-bots or Fox News employees like the plague.

Since then many Republican have followed suit, in fact some of the GOP presidential field ONLY gave interviews to Fox News and online Right Wing blogs.

And now Mitt Romney, who like Palin is an attractive, photogenic political mannequin with virtually NONE of the qualifications necessary to actually do the job for which he is currently running, is also attempting to hide his inadequacies by making sure to only give interviews to "journalists" who will never bring them up.

Essentially Mitt Romney is a coward, and with this decision has made crystal clear what differentiates him from President Obama.

Obama does not run from a fight. And has essentially reentered the lion's den again and again.

(H/T to Think Progress)

P.S. Just a reminder that it was Andrew Breitbart himself who labeled THIS blog"defunct," which I guess goes to prove just how good HIS journalistic skills were now doesn't it?
