Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he would like to meet US President Donald Trump at an Arctic nations summit in Finland in May.
He again rejected allegations that Russia had interfered in the 2016 US presidential election.
And he said sanctions against Russia were also hurting the US and Europe.
Mr Trump had voiced hopes for improved relations with Moscow, but he has been dogged by claims of links between his election campaign and Russia.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and both houses of the US Congress are investigating alleged Russian interference in the election.
I would suggest that Putin is really looking forward to getting a one on one with his puppet, because with the FBI and other intelligence agencies watching his every move that is the only way he can communicate what he wants from him shielded from prying eyes.
Or so he assumes.
However if I were working with the intelligence agencies I would be damn sure to be monitoring every move that Trump and Putin made while working on their bromance in Finland.
Now the question to ask is whether Donald Trump is dumb enough to meet Putin in person with this investigation still going on, or better yet, is Putin giving him any choice?
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Democratic Primary Open Thread. Update!
So today there are two primaries for Democrats to use to pretend that the nomination is still in contention.
One is in Kentucky and their polls close in about an hour and half from when this gets posted.
The second is in Oregon and that sucker is still five hours and a half away.
There is by the way every possibility that Sanders will win both of these tonight, but of course it is unlikely that it will be a large enough win to gain him more than about half the delegates. And that is simply not going to help.
By the way there is the letter that Bernie Sanders wrote in response to what happened in Nevada this weekend.
Here it is in its entirety:
“It is imperative that the Democratic leadership, both nationally and in the states, understand that the political world is changing and that millions of Americans are outraged at establishment politics and establishment economics. The people of this country want a government which represents all of us, not just the 1 percent, super PACs and wealthy campaign contributors.
“The Democratic Party has a choice. It can open its doors and welcome into the party people who are prepared to fight for real economic and social change – people who are willing to take on Wall Street, corporate greed and a fossil fuel industry which is destroying this planet. Or the party can choose to maintain its status quo structure, remain dependent on big-money campaign contributions and be a party with limited participation and limited energy.
“Within the last few days there have been a number of criticisms made against my campaign organization. Party leaders in Nevada, for example, claim that the Sanders campaign has a ‘penchant for violence.’ That is nonsense. Our campaign has held giant rallies all across this country, including in high-crime areas, and there have been zero reports of violence. Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals. But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked.
“If the Democratic Party is to be successful in November, it is imperative that all state parties treat our campaign supporters with fairness and the respect that they have earned. I am happy to say that has been the case at state conventions in Maine, Alaska, Colorado and Hawaii where good discussions were held and democratic decisions were reached. Unfortunately, that was not the case at the Nevada convention. At that convention the Democratic leadership used its power to prevent a fair and transparent process from taking place. Among other things:
The chair of the convention announced that the convention rules passed on voice vote, when the vote was a clear no-vote. At the very least, the Chair should have allowed for a headcount.
The chair allowed its Credentials Committee to en mass rule that 64 delegates were ineligible without offering an opportunity for 58 of them to be heard. That decision enabled the Clinton campaign to end up with a 30-vote majority.
The chair refused to acknowledge any motions made from the floor or allow votes on them. The chair refused to accept any petitions for amendments to the rules that were properly submitted.
“These are on top of failures at the precinct and county conventions including trying to depose and then threaten with arrest the Clark County convention credentials chair because she was operating too fairly.”
So as you can see there was not an explicit call for non-violence though there was plenty of blame for any aggression aimed at the Democrats.
Actually it kind of reads like a list of demands by a hostage taker.
Update: Here are some of the threats sent to Nevada Democratic party chair Roberta Lange after the convention.
Nothing that was done, or could have been done, at the convention excuses this.
Update: Hillary Clinton wins!
Holy crap that took forever. Let's hope that Oregon is not quite such a nail biter.
Update 2: And now Sanders wins Oregon.
It looks like in this case the delegates are pretty evenly split as well.

Judge awards Dakota Meyer joint custody, demands that Bristol Palin provide breast milk for overnight visits.
| Bristol Palin in Hawaii, Courtesy of the Daily Mail. |
In a stunning blow to the explicit wishes of Bristol Palin that she be awarded primary interim physical custody of daughter Sailor Grace and that Dakota Meyer only be allowed 'reasonable' visitation and no overnight visits, an Alaska Superior Court Judge has ruled that the couple must share both legal and physical custody.
In explosive court papers seen exclusively by Daily Mail Online, Alaska Judge Herman G. Walker Jr. has decided that it is in the best interests of Sailor Grace, born last December, to remain in Alaska for the time being. But Meyer will be able to make the 3,600 mile trip from his home in Kentucky to Alaska twice a month for four consecutive days each.
'The mother objects to overnight visitation because the child is currently breastfeeding nightly,' said the Judge.
'However the court finds it in the best interests of the child that overnight visitation [with the father] occur. Mother is to provide father with an adequate supply of milk or formula for overnight visitation.'
Meyer's visits with his daughter will begin this month. Overnight visits will begin in May.
Well this is awkward.
Here Bristol thought that the whole breastfeeding thing would help her to keep her daughter away from Dakota, instead the judge has ordered her to milk herself like a dairy cow in order to accommodate him.
However since we know that Bristol lied about the breastfeeding now she will either have to admit to Dakota that she is full of shit, or Sailor will suddenly be weaned off of breast milk before his first overnight visits in May.
Well I am going to have to say at this point that Dakota must have been convinced by that DNA evidence that he is indeed the father, so now instead of accusing Bristol of lying about the paternity I guess we can simply focus on the fact that she purposefully got herself pregnant in order to trap a Medal of Honor winner into marrying her.
I am not sure that makes her look any better actually.
Update: I think this demonstrates Bristol already trying to fudge facts in order to cover for her lies.
I think she is going to get found out.

In just one month?
I first have to explain that this graphic, which somebody posted on Reddit, is not entirely accurate.
According to this source, two of the pastors were charged with sexual battery, one embezzled funds to pay for his prostitution habit, two were simply a peeping toms, and one hired a couple to burn down his house with his wife trapped inside.
So that means that out of twenty five, six are not pedophiles, but still incredibly creepy, abusive, and in one case homicidal.
The other nineteen are indeed nasty men who raped or sexually assaulted underage children.
You know yesterday I sort of tongue in cheek suggested that if you wanted to connect a certain demographic to pedophilia, that it would be more appropriate to avoid any homosexual connection, and instead focus on the stronger one between fundamentalist Christians and child rapists.
Today my tongue is not even touching my cheek.

Three hours after my post this morning Sarah Palin weighs in on the unusual snowfall and, and of course, uses it to demonstrate her ignorance.
| "C'mon Bristol, let's you and me hunt up a new wig fer yer momma!" |
One last blast of Alaska winter today, hopefully? This is what "Grad Blast" means in Alaska! We'll move our graduation b-b-q indoors and watch the mini-blizzard from 'round the fireplace. (Global warming my gluteus maximus.)
First off let me just say how impressed I am that she had somebody look up the Latin term for "butt." (Now she knows why we sometimes refer to her as ole "Glute head.")
However she should stick to looking up new words and NOT attempt to try her hand at understanding science. Of course if she did, she might, just MIGHT, recognize that there is a vast difference between climate and weather. (Of course I am being facetious here as the idea of Sarah Palin puzzling out ANYTHING is ridiculous on its face.)
After all how idiotic do you have to be to think that just because there is a snowfall that it disproves Global Warming?
Oh yeah, that's right!
P.S. By the way lady get your OWN ideas for posts in the future and stop stealing from me.

The view outside my house. Today.

Rarely, and I mean RARELY, does the weather effect me.
I don't suffer from SAD, drink excessively when it is dark, or bitch and moan because I have to shovel my driveway for the third time in one day. (Okay maybe I HAVE done that last one a few times.)
And if you are one of those bitchy people who is always complaining about the weather, or about how you have to eat cartons of Hagen Dazs ice cream to deal with your depression, or how getting out of bed is so hard because it is always dark outside, I have no sympathy for you. Get out, because some of us like it here, and we will like it even more once you shut the hell up!
However,..having said that...WTF Alaska?
I mean come on!
Before yesterday there was not a flake of snow still left near my house. I just got my bike tuned up to start riding this week, my house is in the process of being painted, and Sunday was the day I had finally decided to get off my ass and rake my yard.
You know the yard that is now covered in an inch and half of new fallen snow. In May!
Yes I know, this is Alaska, we have late snowfalls.
But I am here to tell you that THIS is unusual even for here.
Now if you will excuse me I have to eat a carton of Haagen Dazs ice cream and go get back into bed.
(P.S. Here is more about our unseasonably low temperatures.)
