Nevada father kills teen son for being gay.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

A Nevada father shot and killed his 14-year-old son because he couldn’t accept his son's sexual orientation, according to the son's former foster mom.

On Thursday afternoon, 53-year-old Wendell Melton shot his son, Giovanni Melton, in the apartment where Giovanni lived alone.

According to Sonja Jones, Giovanni’s former foster mom, Wendell caught Giovanni with his boyfriend before he pulled out a gun.According to the Henderson Police Department, Giovanni was initially transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospital—Siena Campus in critical condition.

“As a result of their investigation, Henderson Police detectives determined that Melton discharged a firearm that fatally struck his son,” the police department said in a statement on Facebook. He was arrested at the scene on felony charges of open murder, child abuse, firearms possession and other various charges, and was booked into the Henderson Detention Center.

"Giovanni was abused physically and mentally and spiritually for many, many years," Jones told News 3 Las Vegas.

Is it any wonder that so many gay teens are still so afraid to tell the world who they are?

It just breaks my heart that this pour kid never got a chance to learn that it gets better

Las Vegas mass shooting completely changes band member's stance on guns.

Courtesy of WaPo:

“I’ve been a proponent of the 2nd amendment my entire life. Until the events of last night. I cannot express how wrong I was. We actually have members of our crew with [Concealed Handgun Licenses], and legal firearms on the bus,” Keeter wrote. “They were useless.” He continued:

We couldn’t touch them for fear police might think we were part of the massacre and shoot us. A small group (or one man) laid waste to a city with dedicated, fearless police officers desperately trying to help, because of access to an insane amount of fire power.

Enough is enough.

Writing my parents and the love of my life a goodbye last night and a living will because I felt like I wasn’t going to live through the night was enough for me to realize that this is completely and totally out of hand. These rounds were just powerful enough that my crew guys just standing in close proximity of a victim shot by this f—ing coward received shrapnel wounds.

We need gun control RIGHT. NOW. My biggest regret is that I stubbornly didn’t realize it until my brothers on the road and myself were threatened by it. We are unbelievably fortunate to not be among the number of victims killed or seriously wounded by this maniac.

(Keeter is the lead guitarist for the Josh Abbott Band)

Yes, of course we need gun control, but the Republicans are still saying that it is wrong to talk about it in the wake of this most recent shooting, because it would be "insensitive" to politicize it.

The problem of course is that after a couple of weeks everybody's nerves will calm down, and nobody will feel compelled to talk about it at all. That wouldn't be goal would it?

rhetorical question, of course it is.

That's why the NRA is delaying TV ads in Virginia

Gotta wait for the dust to settle.

According to Quartz this is the 338th mass shooting in 2017.

That is more than one mass shooting a day.

So this one band member's position on the 2nd Amendment has been changed, but for the rest of the country, who were NOT ducking bullets while people around them were murdered, this is still an academic argument.

So do we need to wait until EVERY American barely survives a mass shooting in order to see a change to our gun laws?

Because sadly even then that may not prove enough of an incentive.

Simply put, you cannot call yourself the greatest nation on earth if your citizens are being gunned down in random shootings every day.

Why is that so damn hard to understand?

Dakota Meyer attacks somebody at the Las Vegas mass shooting for running away instead of getting killed.

So here is the actual video that this Dan Bilzerian fellow posted, as you can see he was unarmed during the shooting but said he got a gun and headed back. Though of course there was nothing to be done. Now look I really don't know, or care much about this Bilzerian guy. He could be a real douchebag, and according to his Instagram account that is probably somewhat accurate.

But I am still not sure what compelled Meyer to go after him like that on social media.

First off the guy was unarmed, which according to some messages on Dakota's Instagram makes him a pussy right there.

But secondly even if he was armed with a handgun, HOW would that have helped?

The gunman was firing an automatic weapon from the 32nd floor into a crowd of people.

NOBODY fires a handgun and hits a guy 32 floors up except in the dumbest action movies ever made.

The best this guy could probably have done was to shoot out windows on the 20th or 25th floor and hit some poor bastard who was up to that point completely safe.

As for leaving that woman shot in the head, yeah maybe this guy could have provided help if he is trained to do so, but most likely he would have simply been killed as well.

Nobody knows what they would do in a similar circumstance, and only an asshole insults somebody running from a hail of gunfire.

At the time of this post the death toll stands at 58, with 515 wounded.

If this Dan Bilzerian had followed Dakota's advice he would quite likely be number 59, or if lucky number 516.

Mass shooting in Las Vegas. Update!

Source
Courtesy of NBC News:

A gunman fired a barrage of bullets on an outdoor country music festival in Las Vegas Sunday night, killing at least 50 people and injuring more than 400 others, police said, in the worst mass shooting in modern American history.

From his room on the 32nd floor of a glitzy hotel, the shooter, identified by law enforcement officials as Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, fired shot after shot down on the crowd of more than 22,000, sending terrified concertgoers running for their lives.

“We heard what sounded like firecrackers going off. Then all of a sudden we heard what sounded like a machine gun. People started screaming that they were hit… When we started running out there were probably a couple hundred [people] on the ground,” witness Meghan Kearney told MSNBC.

"People kept dropping and dropping… People were getting shot one foot away from us," she said. “People were trying to save their friends. There were gunshots everywhere. Helping them would’ve meant that we got shot, too.”

There are reports that this man had as many as ten rifles in his possession, and that he killed himself before the police reached him.

As you can hear from this footage the man clearly used at least one fully automatic weapon, which is supposedly illegal.

Currently the motivation for the shooting is unclear.

This is a terrible, terrible tragedy and is being called the worst shooting in American history.

Update: Trump weighs in.
"Warmest condolences?"

Update 2: Trump is now speaking about the shooting. He is actually quoting scripture.

Plans to visit Las Vegas on Wednesday. I assume to make sure none of his properties were hit by gunfire.

Update 3: Hillary Clinton offers the leadership that Trump cannot.

Now you know why the NRA worked so hard to defeat her.

Update 4: Let's put this to rest, shall we?

Two more participants in the Bundy standoff get to walk free.

Steven Stewart taking up a position to get a better shot at Federal agents.
Courtesy of Las Vegas Review Journal:

Jurors acquitted two men of charges that could have sent them to federal prison for decades Tuesday, while reaching a split decision for two others, in a retrial that stemmed from the 2014 armed standoff in Bunkerville.

The four men hugged their attorneys, as about two dozen loyal supporters erupted into cheers from the gallery of a courtroom where they had quietly watched weeks and weeks of testimony.

Montana resident Ricky Lovelien and Idaho resident Steven Stewart were acquitted of all 10 counts they faced and were expected to be released from custody Tuesday night.

Stewart cried and nodded his head along with each “not guilty” U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro read aloud, while Lovelien showed little more emotion than a grin.

"Cried and nodded his head."

This man took transported weapons across state lines to use against Federal agents who were just trying to do their jobs and enforce the law.

But when he is sitting before a judge, and facing possible punishment for his crimes, he cries like a little bitch?

And they call liberals "snowflakes."

So yet another domestic terrorist gets released back into the community.

Does anybody think for a second that if these men had brown skin and were named Mohammad that they would not now be spending the remainder of their lives in prison?

Las Vegas becomes the largest American city to switch to 100% green energy.

Courtesy of the Independent:

Last week, Las Vegas reached its decade-long goal of completely powering the city with renewable energy, making it the largest city in the United States to do so.

“Las Vegas is one of the few cities in the entire world that can boast using all of its power from green sources,” Mayor Carolyn Goodman told reporters at city hall last Monday.

The city reached the goal thanks to the opening of Boulder Solar 1, a 100-megawatt solar plant located near Boulder City. Now, the city’s government buildings, streetlights, and parks are fueled the renewable energy.

Apparently the city has been working toward this goal since 2008, and  have now reduced energy emissions by 30%.

And this Sarah Palin is why we do not need to spend billions on oil exploration in the Arctic.

Thank you President Obama.

What really happened during the so called "assassination attempt" on Donald Trump in Nevada.

So if you read my post last night you would see me trying to piece together what happened in real time.

At the time I was just sharing information as I learned it and in the end I think we got fairly close to the truth.

However today we have more detail, including an interview with the poor bastard who was accused of endangering "The Donald."

Austyn Crites, the man who scared Donald Trump off the stage.
Courtesy of  The Guardian:

The man whose protest saw Donald Trump rushed off the stage by Secret Service agents has said the Republican nominee’s supporters turned on him when he held up a sign reading: “Republicans against Trump”.

The man, who identified himself as Austyn Crites from Reno, told the Guardian he was holding the sign at a rally when Trump supporters wrestled him to the ground.

The 33-year-old – who says he has been a registered Republican for about six years – said he was kicked, punched and choked, and feared for his life when the crowd turned on him at the gathering in Reno, Nevada.

Crites cited Trump’s treatment of Mexicans, Muslims and women as the reason he decided to protest again Trump, who he described as “a textbook version of a dictator and a fascist”.

Okay now that is who Crites is, he is a Republican who is ashamed of the man that his party chose to represent them in the presidential election.

But here's the part that the media is not reporting accurately, Donald Trump himself pointed this guy out and incited the crowd to attack him.

Just skip all of the usual Trump bullshit and go to the 34:45 mark on the video.

It is at that point where Trump shades his eyes and says "Oh we have one of those guys from the Hillary Clinton campaign."

He then asks Crites how much he is being paid, and then instructs the crowd to "take him out."

This results in a fight between audience members and Crites, and in less than a minute Trump is hurried off stage by the Secret Service.

Here is what Crites described happened after Trump sicked the crowd on him:

The Guardian found a bruised and shocked-looking Crites outside the auditorium. He said he was shaken and had pain in the back, but was otherwise uninjured.

“I had a sign that said ‘Republicans against Trump’. It is a sign that you can just print off online.”

Initially, there was the expected reaction of people around him booing, he said. “And then all of a sudden people next to me are starting to get violent; they’re grabbing at my arm, trying to rip the sign out of my hand,” he said.

He said he could not be sure but “it looked like” Trump was pointing at him, and may have been “instigating something”. Either way, the crowd piled on him, he said, kicking, punching, holding him on the ground and grabbing his testicles.

He said he was a wrestler in his youth and used his training to turn his head to the side to maintain an airway open as he was being choked by one man who had him in a headlock. “But there were people wrenching on my neck they could have strangled me to death,” he added.

Crites said when he was on the ground he heard someone yell “something about a gun” and he kept telling those on top of him that he had merely been holding a sign.

So to be clear Crites was unarmed, and only exercising his First Amendment rights.

It is important to note that EVERYTHING that happened here was the direct result of Donald Trump overreacting to a protester.

The man DID NOT pose a threat, and yet Trump singled him out, instructed the crowd to attack him, and that resulted in somebody yelling about a gun, and Trump diving off of the stage in fear for his life.

(Okay to be fair the Secret Service ushered him off stage, but still the ONLY reason they felt that was necessary is because Trump instigated a fight in the audience.)

Oddly enough Trump's supporters are actually viewing this event as a net positive for their candiate.

For instance this was posted on Sarah Palin's Facebook page today:

Of course it's easy to appear calm when you know that you are exaggerating something for effect and that there is in no real danger.

The take away for me is that this is proof that the giant orange POS starts conflicts and then runs away when there is any hint that he himself might be in harm's way.

And THIS is the guy who is trying to get elected to be America's Commander-in-Chief.

Not on my watch.

I think Donald Trump saw a Hispanic in the crowd in Nevada and ran from the stage.

Just ask yourself when you ever saw President Obama or Hillary Clinton run like a little bitch off stage like that?

Update: That's what I thought.
I have to say that I am VERY skeptical of this gun story.

Update 2: The Russians are all over this.
Yeah, okay.

And a new hashtag is born, #TrumpScaredOffStage

Update 3: No gun.
Now we are hearing that there was a guy with a sign.

And we all know how much Trump hates to read.

Update 4: Apparently there are still Trump supporters and family members tweeting that there was an assassination attempt.
Not sure when paper cuts became fatal.

One Nevada gun shop is offering a sale on assault rifles before "Crooked Hillary gets in."

Oh yeah, this is certainly going to help the Trump supporters accept defeat.

Of course as you know guns sales reached historic numbers while President Obama was in office, and now it looks like Hillary's presidency will continue that pathetic tradition.

In fact there is a part of me which believes that gun manufacturers are secretly pulling for Hillary to win so that they can take advantage of ammosexuals terrified of losing their metal penis extenders by selling them even more weapons for which they have no use.

Donald Trump attempts to instruct Nevadans on how to correctly pronounce the name of their state, and of course gets it completely wrong.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Donald Trump on Wednesday gave a lesson on linguistics to a Nevada crowd on how to pronounce the name of the state — and got it wrong. "NevAHHHHdah," Trump told the crowd in Reno, saying "nobody says it the other way."

The correct way to pronounce the name of the Silver State is "NevADDah." Then-state archivist Guy Rocha told NBC News back in 2008 that the latter way is the correct version to pronounce the state name.

Former State Assemblyman Harry Mortenson in 2010 admitted in a resolution calling for both pronunciations to be accepted that only those outside the state use Trump's version, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

What a condescending POS.

You know it's one thing to mispronounce the name of a city or state, I think we all have done that at some point in our lives, but it is quite another thing to lecture the people of that state about how to pronounce their name, and do it incorrectly.

The guy is a fucking circus clown.

Senate Democrats are rapidly losing patience with Bernie Sanders, want him to move quickly to unite party and focus on Donald Trump.

Courtesy of Politico:

Long a lonely voice of the left in the Senate, Bernie Sanders is poised to return to his day job as a potential kingmaker after a presidential campaign that made him a household name and hero of the progressive movement.

But the Vermont senator risks frittering away that newfound clout, Democratic senators said Wednesday, if he doesn’t move soon to unite the party and train his fire on Donald Trump.

The lawmakers said they’re disturbed that Sanders hasn’t more forcefully repudiated the behavior of his supporters in Nevada last weekend. Sanders backers threw chairs, shouted down Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and threatened a state party chairwoman — raising the specter of similar ugliness at the Democratic National Convention in July. While Sanders has not suffered permanent damage in the eyes of his colleagues, his reputation among Democratic Party stalwarts is hanging in the balance.

“It depends on how he handles the national convention in Philadelphia and how he handles the next months,” said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), who says she was heckled for the first time in her life by Sanders supporters during the New Hampshire primary. “I appreciate that he’s going to continue to stay defiant, but the fact is Hillary Clinton’s going to win the nomination. Is he going to support her and campaign for her, or is he going to help elect Donald Trump?”

A number of other Democrats in the Senate expressed frustration that Sanders' response to the violence and threats in Nevada was weak, and are becoming frustrated that his campaign is now only serving as a distraction from the important job of focusing on the general election.

It’s a painful moment for Democrats in the Senate, who have marveled at Sanders’ success and celebrated the placid nature of the primary contest in contrast with the GOP’s insult-filled proceedings. But now the Republican Party is reluctantly coming around to Trump, who is now going after Clinton full time, while the Democratic primary is generating headlines about intraparty warfare.

That’s starting to grate on senators. Democrats say they want to give Sanders a hearty welcome when he returns as a high-profile leader of the party’s progressive arm, but that it will be difficult the way the campaign is unfolding.

Of course Senate Democrats are by now means the only folks who are becoming fed up.

Every day it seems there are more stories of former supporters who are now becoming embarrassed at what they see happening in the campaign.

Currently #bernielostme is trending on Twitter and I have the feeling that it is only the beginning as more an more people come to realize that the campaign of idealism and hope has now devolved into one of acrimony and denial.

P.S. Oh and before anybody starts throwing around conspiracy theories Politifact has already labeled allegations of fraud and misconduct by the Democratic party in the Nevada convention as false.

But hey Bros, nice try.

Bernie Sanders supporters have violent meltdown at Nevada conventions forcing security to shut it down.

Courtesy of MSNBC:

On the surface, the results from the state Democratic convention in Nevada may not seem especially noteworthy. Hillary Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders in the state’s caucuses in February, and her supporters prevailed at Saturday’s party gathering where delegates to the national convention were chosen. None of this has much of an effect on the overall race.

At least, that’s the way it may look on paper. When activists gathered in Las Vegas on Saturday, however, Sanders supporters hoped to take advantage of Nevada’s complex process to give him the statewide edge in the delegate count, despite coming in second in February balloting.

The Washington Post explains what led up to the explosion of anger:

Prior to the state convention, some Sanders supporters began an effort to shift the convention rules in a way that they viewed as more favorable to their candidate. One of those changes, the Las Vegas Sun reported, was a process for verifying voice votes; another took issue with the state party chairwoman, Roberta Lange, heading up the convention. Supporters at the event circulated petitions to the same end. The scene was set.

The first report from the credentials committee on Saturday morning indicated that Clinton had a slight edge in delegates. Sanders fans voted against that report, per Jon Ralston, and then demanded a recount – but this was simply a preliminary figure…. That was when the vote to approve the rules as written – Roberta’s Rules versus Robert’s Rules, as some Sanders backers dubbed them – was conducted by voice vote. The motion, seconded by a Sanders supporter, passed – which is when the room, in Ralston’s phrasing, “erupts.”

You can see that eruption for yourself right here.

And things actually got worse from there:

Some Sanders supporters upset with Saturday's proceedings protested against state party chairwoman, Roberta Lange, outside the Nevada State Democratic Party headquarters on Sunday. Her cellphone number was posted on social media and officials said Lange had received hundreds of phone calls and text messages, including death threats.

Some Sanders' supporters are now talking about a third party emerging to challenge the Democrats:

A third party will emerge from the anger, frustration, and animosity felt by millions of Bernie Sanders supporters, who believe Bernie stands for ideals, while Clinton represents the vapid allure of political power. It’s impossible for establishment Democrats to understand the level of emotion involved in helping elect Bernie Sanders in 2016.

Battling a political machine that earns millions in speaking fees from Wall Street and lobbyist ties, Vermont’s Senator has raised enough money to compete and win. Also, the groundwork for a new political party is rooted in the manner establishment Democrats have treated loyal constituents.

So essentially everything we gleefully predicted might happen to the Republican party if they nominated Donald Trump is instead happening within the Democratic party.

I have little doubt that the GOP convention will come off relatively smoothly.

As for the Democratic convention......well has anybody seen the beginning of "Saving Private Ryan?"

This should be our time. The Republicans have one of the most deeply flawed candidates in history, while the Democrats are on the cusp of nominating one of the most qualified individuals ever to run for office.

But instead once again Democrats are on the verge of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Does everybody finally understand why I have been calling for Bernie Sanders to drop out of this race? Is it finally getting through?

He cannot win, period.

But he can, and IS, creating the kind of chaos and mayhem that destroys political parties and their candidates. Both at the top of the ticket, and down ballot.

Nevada Democratic convention erupts as Bernie Sanders supporters demand recount.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Tensions were high at the Democratic convention in Nevada Saturday, with Bernie Sanders supporters demanding delegate recounts, booing Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and causing other disruptions, according to local media reports.

Sanders supporters were angry over a voice vote that adopted a set of temporary convention rules as the permanent rules, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

And supporters also reacted angrily to the count of delegates attending the convention, which put Clinton at an advantage.

There were also reports that a female Clinton supporter was knocked unconscious by a Bernie Sanders supporter, but the video posted is lacking in detail.

Apparetnly things were not much calmer up here in Alaska:

Internal strife rocked the Alaska Democratic Party on Friday as it headed into its three-day state convention, with some members of the party that heavily favor Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton protesting the convention by planning an alternative event Saturday night.

“Alaska voters are an independent people and they don’t want to be told what to do,” said Ed Cullinane, a member of the state central committee from an Anchorage House district.

The anti-convention event at the Egan Civic and Convention Center comes because Florida congresswoman and Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz plans to give the keynote speech at the convention in Anchorage Saturday, Cullinane said.

Alaskan Democrats gave Sanders 81.6 percent of their support in the March caucus. Many believe Wasserman Schultz has limited debates and unfairly allocated resources to give Clinton a boost, he said.

“A lot of us feel that Debbie Wasserman Schultz has displayed very unethical behavior,” he said.

They do realize that holding their own unsanctioned anti-convention does not really help them to elect delegates right?

Is anybody else getting a weird Ron Paul deja vu out all of this?

Nevada Assemblywoman defends right to point her firearm at law enforcement officials if they point their gun at her. WTF?

Courtesy of Think Progress:

Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore (R), who is currently seeking her party’s nomination for an open U.S. House seat, said last week that she believes the right to self defense includes the right to aim your gun anyone who aims a gun at you, even if they are a law enforcement officer.

“I would never ever point my firearm at anyone, including an officer of the law, unless they pointed their firearm at me,” Fiore explained. But, the assemblywoman continued, “once you point your firearm at me, I’m sorry, then it becomes self-defense. Whether you’re a stranger, a bad guy, or an officer, and you point your gun at me and you’re gonna shoot me and I have to decide whether it’s my life or your life, I choose my life.”

You know I don't think this idiot understands how law enforcement works.

Actually believe it or not Fiore was the person who tried to convince Cliven Bundy and his band of inbred misfits to avoid getting into a firefight with the FBI.

However now it appears that she is all done with being rational and is instead channeling her inner Annie Oakley.

Gee another unhinged politician living in Nevada, how completely unsurprising.

Feds arrest co-chair of Donald Trump's veteran coalition for participation in Bundy standoff.

Courtesy of OPB:

Federal authorities on Thursday arrested a New Hampshire man for his role in a standoff by Nevada ranchers opposed to federal control of public lands.

Gerald DeLemus, of Rochester, was named in an indictment in Nevada as a “mid-level leader” and organizer of a conspiracy to recruit, organize, train and provide support to armed men and other followers of rancher Cliven Bundy.

DeLemus, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and tea party activist, last year signed on as a member of presidential candidate Donald Trump’s New Hampshire veterans coalition. A July news release posted on Trump’s website listed DeLemus as a co-chair.

What? You mean people associated with the Donald Trump campaign are in trouble with the law?

Who could have predicted such a thing?

DeLemus was not the only person caught in the FBI's net. They also indicted and arrested thirteen others

A superseding criminal indictment was returned by the grand jury on Wednesday, March 2, and now charges a total of 19 defendants. The 14 new defendants are Melvin D. Bundy, 41, of Round Mountain, Nev., David H. Bundy, 39, of Delta, Utah, Brian D. Cavalier, 44, of Bunkerville, Nev., Blaine Cooper, 36, of Humboldt, Ariz., Gerald A. DeLemus, 61, of Rochester, N.H., Eric J. Parker, 32, of Hailey, Idaho, O. Scott Drexler, 44, of Challis, Idaho, Richard R. Lovelien, 52, of Westville, Okla., Steven A. Stewart, 36, of Hailey, Idaho, Todd C. Engel, 48, of Boundary County, Idaho, Gregory P. Burleson, 52, of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph D. O’Shaughnessy, 43, of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Micah L. McGuire, 31, and Jason D. Woods, 30, both of Chandler, Ariz.

Twelve defendants were arrested earlier today. Two defendants, Brian D. Cavalier and Blaine Cooper, were already in federal custody in the District of Oregon.

“These indictments and subsequent arrests send an irrefutable message to the American people that our determination remains steadfast to protect them and pursue individuals who participate in violent acts of this nature,” said Special Agent in Charge Bucheit.

Wow, look at all the Bundy's. I wonder if there are any Bundy family members NOT in jail?

Gee what kind of country are we becoming when a man cannot gather a small army of heavily armed idiots to engage the federal government in a standoff?

You know besides a country of laws of course?

Donald Trump once again claims that his supporters would not abandon him even if he committed murder.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Last month, the GOP front runner and real estate mogul said he could shoot someone in cold blood and he would maintain his lead with voters.

“They say I have the most loyal people,” Trump said in January, “Where I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s like incredible.”

On Tuesday, during a pre-caucus rally in Nevada, Trump repeated his claim that he could kill someone without consequence, at least in the polls.

“Sixty-eight percent,” he said, “would not leave under any circumstance. I think that means murder, I think it means anything, okay?”

I think it's official, Donald Trump has found the scariest, non-ethical people in the country to come out and support his campaign.

And many of them must live in Nevada, because Trump destroyed his competition in last night's caucus.

By the way, just in case anybody is wondering, I am currently a Hillary supporter. But if she kills somebody, I'm switching to Sanders.

Just thought I should put that out there.

Republicans using skeevy tactics to steal Nevada caucus votes from Hillary Clinton. Update!

Courtesy of Politicususa:

The party that screams about voter fraud while getting busted for voter fraud is at it again. This time, it’s a loophole Republicans have found in Nevada that will allow them to caucus in the Democratic caucus and then again in the Republican caucus days later.

Republicans are urging their fellow Republicans to take advantage of the loophole reported yesterday by Ralston Reports.

Here is an e-mail sent by Nick Vander Poel, a Republican activist:

Please forward to family and friends and fellow GOP caucus goers.

I was able to confirm through a former Secretary of State elections official as well as a former County Clerk. Both said and confirmed that Republicans can show up on Saturday, February 20th and register as a Democrat if you have a burning desire. Then still be eligible to participate to caucus on Tuesday for GOP candidate of choice.

What was also confirmed. The caucuses are NOT a state sanctioned election, the caucus is conducted by both parties. So this is NOT illegal and you will be arrested or fined. So put that rumor to rest.

Some call this idea silly but the reality is, with low turnout the Democrat caucus is going to close and every little bit is going to help.

Again, here are the details/loophole of how this is possible:

Apparently this is the loophole:

A Republican registered by Feb. 13 could show up at a Democratic caucus site on Saturday, switch to the Democratic Party, vote and then still participate on Tuesday because the party switch would not show up on the GOP caucus rolls.

Cute right? and unfortunately also perfectly legal.

Oh for those who are a little slow on the uptake, the person these fake Democrats are being encouraged to caucus for is Bernie Sanders.

No Republican fears Bernie Sanders, but they are flat terrified of Hillary Clinton.

And I would urge you to take all of those polls saying Sanders can win the general election, and Clinton cannot, with a huge grain of salt. Because I think that there is a VERY concerted and carefully organized effort to sell that mythology.

Update: It looks like an actual Sanders supporter even tried to place an obituary for Hillary in a local paper:

The Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday reported a possible threat related to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton after a man tried to place an obituary notice for the former secretary of state.

The man, who identified himself as Don Schubert, was asked to leave the newspaper building's lobby after he filled out a standard obituary form identifying the deceased as Hillary Rodham Clinton, and listing her date of death as Feb. 20, 2016, the date of Saturday's Democratic Party presidential caucuses. Previously he had called the newsroom to complain about the coin flips that determined the outcome of some Iowa caucuses last month.

The man was seen leaving the RJ parking lot in a maroon Toyota Prius bearing several Bernie Sanders campaign stickers. A security guard said he was also wearing a Sanders sticker on his shirt. The official Sanders campaign website lists "Don Schubert's House" in Long Beach, Calif., as the site of a volunteer phone bank.

Newspaper security officials reported Schubert to the Secret Service.

By the way apparently the Secret Service DID indeed visit this idiot.

Getting a little difficult to tell the actual Bernie supporters, from the Republicans impersonating them.

Update 2: You can get live updates on the Nevada caucus here.

Update 3: Okay well it appears that Clinton has won the Nevada caucus, so I guess the nasty tricks ultimately proved ineffective.

Three year old sheriff deputy's son kills himself with gun. Because that's what guns do.

Courtesy of The Wichita Eagle:

The 3-year-old son of a Reno County sheriff’s deputy accidentally shot and killed himself with a loaded 40-caliber Glock handgun Friday morning, according to a news release from Sheriff Randy Henderson.

Kaden Nagel, the son of Deputy Andrew Nagel, found the gun at 8:15 a.m. in the apartment his father shares with a roommate, according to the release.

Andrew Nagel woke up to the sound of a gunshot.

According to The Hutchinson News the gun did not belong to the father:

Reno County Attorney Keith Schroeder said the handgun was not Deputy Nagel’s service weapon or personal weapon. He said it belonged to a friend of Deputy Nagel who wasn’t aware it was in the apartment.

The father did not even know the gun was in the apartment, and yet this three year old found it, and ended his life with it, before anybody could do anything to stop him.

Just another day in the NRA's America.

Tis the season to be packing heat. Nevada Assemblywoman posts Christmas card online festooned with firepower.

Courtesy of TPM:

For Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore's (R) 2015 family Christmas card, which she posted on Facebook on Monday, her family was each outfitted with a gun. If it wasn't immediately obvious, Fiore is a staunch defender of Second Amendment rights.

"It's up to Americans to protect America. We're just your ordinary American family. -With love & liberty, Michele," her message read.

In the top left corner the card lists the guns photographed: a Beretta 92FS, Glock 30 .45ACP, Serbu Super-Shorty 12-gauge shotgun, Extar EXP-556, Walther P22 (LR), Glock 19 9mm and Glock 30 .45ACP.

Fiore's daughters, Sheena and Savanah as well as her grandchildren Jake, Jayden, Mara and Morrigan, and her mother Lill are pictured. Jake, who a bio on Fiore's website says is at least 5 years old, is pictured holding the Walther P22.

"Just your ordinary American family?"  Maybe if you're an ordinary American Mafia family.

This is like Ammosexual porn. Somewhere right now, there is a guy rubbing one out to this photo.

Just to show that not everybody in Nevada is a lunatic, there is at least one politician who has decided enough is enough.

A Democratic Congressional candidate is resigning his membership to the National Rifle Association (NRA) in the wake of a mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., earlier this week.

Nevada Democrat John Oceguera announced late Thursday he is dissociating himself from the organization a day after gunmen killed at least 14 in California.

“I am a law-abiding gun owner and a life member of the NRA who grew up in a family of hunters,” he said in a statement obtained by The Hill.

“But more importantly, I am a husband and father,” Oceguera continued. "Keeping our families safe is our most fundamental priority.

“I cannot continue to be a member while the NRA refuses to back closing loopholes that allow the mentally ill, criminals and terrorists to buy guns in this country. Effective immediately, I am resigning my membership in the NRA.”

And that my friends would seem like the appropriate response to the carnage we are witnessing in the NRA's America.

The Christmas card up at the top however is........well that's just disgusting.

During interview with Harry Reid on Nevada radio, President Obama calls in to surprise the retiring Senator with heartfelt praise.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Sen. Reid was told that he had a surprise caller, and after a pause a voice came on the line and said, “Is this Harry Reid?” Reid answered, “It is.” The President said, “Harry, this is Barack.” Reid could only say, “Well, I’ll be damned.” Obama asked, “Are you allowed to say that on live radio?” Reid repeated, “Well, I’ll be damned. What a guy.”

The President said, “Well, I think when the stories has been written and when all is told, you’re going to have somebody who has done more for the Nevada for this country than anybody who has been in the Senate. I could not be prouder of him. He did an unbelievable job on a whole bunch of really tough issues. Saving this country from a depression, making sure millions of people had health care, making sure that young people were able to go to college. He’s been one of my best partners and best friends, and I’m really honored to have served him.”

Harry Reid was also quite effusive in his praise of the President, and ultimately it was a very nice moment where two battle scarred veterans of many political skirmishes expressed admiration for each others courage and tenacity.

After listening to this exchange all I could think is what will this country do without Barack Obama and Harry Reid at the helm of this nation steering us around and over Republican obstructionism and bad policy decisions?

You better bring your "A" game Hillary Clinton, because you are definitely going to need it.
