Meme of the day.

Source

This article from Politico appears to be the source.

Of course Trump is full of shit about this, what is it that he is not full of shit about?

The only question is how long can his supporters keep their heads buried in the sand?

Silly question they're Republicans, burying their head in the sand is what they do.

The National Enquirer claims that Ted Cruz has had five secret mistresses. Seriously? Update!

Courtesy of the National Enquirer:

Presidential candidate Ted Cruz is trying to survive an explosive “dirt file” on the finger-wagging conservative senator!

And the new issue of The National ENQUIRER — on newsstands now — reveals how the reports say the staunch Republican is hiding FIVE different mistresses!

“Private detectives are digging into at least five affairs Ted Cruz supposedly had,” claimed a Washington insider.

“The leaked details are an attempt to destroy what’s left of his White House campaign!”

The ENQUIRER reports that Cruz’s claimed mistresses include a foxy political consultant and a high-placed D.C. attorney!

This story was quickly picked up other news outlets, mostly conservative, who started filling in the pieces.

Courtesy of the Conservative Treehouse:

Firstly, they post pictures of the collective mistresses. NE would never legally “go there” if they did not hold a very reasonable certainty the outlined players were factually part of the story.

Secondly, there’s at least one face in the group that is easily identifiable.

When you accept the NE editorial/legal requirement for research and attributed comment prior to publication, you recognize there is more than a strong probability each of the outlined group (pictured) was contacted prior to publication; and one of those is very close to the Donald Trump campaign. Ergo, it’s entirely likely presidential candidate Donald Trump knew this story was coming out.

Then there was this tweet from a Washington Times columnist:
Personally I am not at all surprised that slimy Ted Cruz is a hypocrite who cheats on his wife, I am only surprised that there are five other women in the world who can look at that face and not vomit all over themselves.

And just when you thought this 2016 campaign could not get any sleazier.

P.S. By the way the scandal already has its own hashtag.  Of course.

Update: Ted Cruz calls the Enquirer story "garbage."

I want to be crystal clear: these attacks are garbage. For Donald J. Trump to enlist his friends at the National...
Posted by Ted Cruz on Friday, March 25, 2016
But then again how would we expect him to respond?

In other news a Trump supporter confronted one of the women named, Amanda Carpenter, during a CNN broadcast.

I have no idea of this report is factual or not, but the real story here is that this is how Donald Trump engages in politics, and I will assume that he will continue in this vein well into the general election, if the Republicans don't have him taken out first.

Update 2: Donald Trump responds to the Ted Cruz mistress:

I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.

Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.

I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

- Donald J. Trump

Did you catch the part about the National Enquirer's past track record on stories of this type?

So subtle.

Leave it to Mike Huckabee to creep everybody out with a tasteless joke at the expense of transgendered people.

[These] ordinances [say] if your 7-year-old daughter—if she goes into the restroom—cannot be offended and you can’t be offended if she’s greeted there by a 42-year-old man who feels more like a woman than he does a man. Now I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in PE. I’m pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, “Coach, I think I’d rather shower with the girls today.”

Slate has more:

Huckabee has long enjoyed bashing gay people and marriage equality, but this disgusting joke suggests the former Arkansas governor has lately discovered the joys of ridiculing trans people—who already face a stunning amount of discrimination and harassment. For what it’s worth, no state that has passed trans protections has seen Huckabee’s bathroom fever dream come to pass. But, of course, Huckabee isn’t really concerned about facts: He’s concerned about finding the kind of red meat Republican voters still care about. It seems that, by his calculation, maligning one of the most reviled and marginalized groups in society will still push GOP voters to the polls.

You only have to listen to the reaction of the crowd to realize that Huckabee is not alone in his feeling that transgender people are disgusting sexual predators looking for an opportunity to prey on small children.

Of course the sexual predators are almost never a transgendered person. Instead they are far more likely to look more like this:

And how did Huckabee respond to an actual child molester (Link has much more graphic report.) once he was outed?

Like this of course:

Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family. Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn’t mean 'unforgivable.' He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things. The reason that the law protects disclosure of many actions on the part of a minor is that the society has traditionally understood something that today’s blood-thirsty media does not understand—that being a minor means that one's judgement is not mature. No one needs to defend Josh’s actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his family’s authenticity and humility. Those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins in order to discredit the Duggar family have actually revealed their own insensitive bloodthirst, for there was no consideration of the fact that the victims wanted this to be left in the past and ultimately a judge had the information on file destroyed—not to protect Josh, but the innocent victims. Janet and I love Jim Bob and Michelle and their entire family. They are no more perfect a family than any family, but their Christian witness is not marred in our eyes because following Christ is not a declaration of our perfection, but of HIS perfection. It is precisely because we are all sinners that we need His grace and His forgiveness. We have been blessed to receive God’s love and we would do no less than to extend our love and support for our friends. In fact, it is such times as this, when real friends show up and stand up. Today, Janet and I want to show up and stand up for our friends. Let others run from them. We will run to them with our support.

To sum up, Christian child molesters are okay, but a transgendered woman who has to pee is a menace to society.

Sarah Palin celebrates that Patriots coach Bill Belichick is a fellow Teabagger.

Courtesy of Facebook:

That is ALL good.

Palin then links to a Breitbart article where the commenters are doing their own white people version of an end zone dance.

You know I can deal with how the Seahawks lost last night (No I can't, I'm lying through my gritted teeth. Who throws the ball at their own half yard line? Who?) but the fact that they lost to a Tea Party supporter is a pill much too bitter to swallow.

By the way I would like to remind folks that LAST year Palin was celebrating the Seahawk victory and claiming that she and Todd were lifetime fans. (That Facebook picture has mysteriously disappeared however. )

Seriously who throws the ball on their own half yard line?

No let it go Gryphen just walk away.

I feel your pain Sherman. I feel your pain.

"They should be shot." Edward Snowden's opinion of those that leaked top secret documents to journalists. Nope, no hypocrisy here.

Edward Snowden
Courtesy of The Washington Post:

When he was working in the intelligence community in 2009, Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency contractor who passed top-secret documents to journalists, appears to have had nothing but disdain for those who leaked classified information, the newspapers that printed their revelations, and his current ally, the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks, according to newly disclosed chat logs.

Snowden, who used the online handle “TheTrueHOOHA,” was particularly upset about a January 2009 New York Times article that reported on a covert program to subvert Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, according to the logs, which were published Wednesday by Ars Technica, a technology news Web site.

“They’re reporting classified [expletive],” Snowden wrote. “You don’t put that [expletive] in the NEWSPAPER.”

At the time of the posting, in January 2009, Snowden was 25 years old and stationed in Geneva by the CIA.

“Are they TRYING to start a war?” he asked of the New York Times. “Jesus christ they’re like wikileaks.”

Um, isn't he currently WORKING with Julian Assange of Wikileaks?

But wait, there's more.

This courtesy of the New York Times:

“They’re just like WikiLeaks,” Mr. Snowden — or someone identified as him from his screen name, “TheTrueHOOHA,” and other details — wrote in January 2009 about an article in The New York Times on secret exchanges between Israel and the United States about Iran’s nuclear program.

His unidentified interlocutor replied, “They’re just reporting, dude.”

But TheTrueHOOHA was not mollified. “They’re reporting classified” material, he wrote, suggesting that both the leak and the article were dangerous to national security. “Those people should be shot” in their private parts.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume he was suggesting that leakers and hackers be shot in the dick.  Which, speaking as a man, is NOT something we guys take lightly.

Now there are some who will suggest that Snowden is not technically a "hacker" as he had access to the information while doing his job. Yeah, you know not so much.

This courtesy of The Daily Beast:

Last week NSA Director Keith Alexander told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that Snowden was able to access files inside the NSA by fabricating digital keys that gave him access to areas he was not allowed to visit as a low-level contractor and systems administrator. One of those areas included a site he visited during his training that Alexander later told reporters contained one of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Court orders published by The Guardian and The Washington Post earlier this month.

At least for me it has become IMPOSSIBLE to support Edward Snowden anymore.

I have to admit I am glad that we know what we know, but I am NOT glad that learned of it in the way that we did.

At this point I believe the US is completely justified in seeking to bring him back to the States and have him face American justice.

George Bush takes some of the veterans he sent into illegal wars to have their limbs blown off for a bike ride. Oh, well that should make up for everything!

Courtesy of Fox News:

Fifteen wounded warriors rode with President Bush this year for the Third Annual Bush Center W100K Wounded Warrior Mountain Bike Ride. It was the first time that the mountain bike ride took place on his pastoral ranch outside Crawford Texas, where 43 miles of trails have been built.

Several of the participants told me that they were deeply affected by President Bush’s ability to perform as one of them; spending hours as host talking and joking with them, leading the pack up the pristine wooded and rock-covered single-track trails.

This is the first time a former president has conducted an event of this kind; the first time since Lincoln that one has converted his feelings for the troops into an endeavor to promote awareness and appreciate for the problems facing veterans.

I'm sorry. what the fuck?

George Bush lied these people into a war that bankrupt their country, tore their bodies to shreds, and sent thousands of their fellow soldiers into such a deep depression that their only salvation came from the barrel of a gun.

But they were "deeply affected" by his ability to ride with them using his two good, never went into war, legs?

Yeah bullshit! This is tantamount to a rapist taking his victims clothes shopping for their children.

I would have to imagine that these men were screened VERY carefully and subjected to everything from metal detectors, background checks. and uber aggressive cavity searches. No wonder there were ONLY fifteen men present, that is probably as many veterans as they could find that did NOT want to die in a hail of gunfire while choking the life out of this son-of-a-bitch!

Palin-bot FINALLY allows the scales to fall from her eyes. I swear these are the slowest people on the planet!

From TownHall:

You are beginning to worry me. I am afraid you are losing touch with the people of whom your fame is based. (You cannot "lose touch" with people you never gave a shit about in the first place.) I, after all, was one of your biggest supporters once. I am thrilled that you get invitations to go to NBA games, that you display your Chick-fil-A shirt, and that you go and support your daughter and her celebrity friends on Dancing with the Stars.

But at CPAC last week you made a rush for the exits. After you gave an inspiring speech where you said to a thrilled audience, “At a time when our country is desperate for leadership, we get instead a permanent campaign“. Instead of coming out and shaking the hands of those who you inspire, you quickly left the building without even a second glance. (What? She wants Palin to mingle with the little people? Boy does she not know this woman very well!)

You called out the liberal media as being unashamed, so at least you took notice of them. Not so for those of us on the right who had hoped that the woman from Wasilla, Alaska might understand our plight and give us a chance to engage one of the top names in the movement. (Yeah, couldn't you insult us a little too? At least give us something!)

We were, to put it bluntly, disappointed. And while I wish this was a solo occurrence, unfortunately this seems to be your pattern. (Gee, ya think?)

I know we in the Tea Party movement don’t throw the best parties or live the most glamorous lives, but we are the ones who faithfully donated to the McCain campaign once you joined the ticket. We are the ones who defended you publicly when the liberal media made fun of you and when your own campaign advisors turned on you. We are the ones who add you and your family to our prayers every night at bedtime. (And don't you feel stupid now?)

Yet it seems those in Hollywood who have made their money making you the butt of their jokes get more of your attention than the movement you helped inspire.

As a working mother in political journalism, I always looked to your journey as a source of inspiration. (Boy are there a couple of book THIS woman needs to read!) It was a testament to the fact that a woman can use her professional talents and not let her family suffer. The other side wants to make female conservatives feel like we are put in binders and that our party doesn’t encourage women to grow in our careers. (I'm just going to let this part go. Too easy.)

Whether it is Dr. Rice, Rep Bachmann, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and legions of others, time and time again conservative women prove this statement to be false. But what makes us different is that women on our side are not afraid to come off the stage and get involved with the people they claim to represent and champion.

Our party does not need another “celebrity.” One of the best attributes of today’s Republicans is that we do not hide behind the curtain and only come out to chat when there is a teleprompter present. The American conservative wants an honest and humble spokesman unafraid to mill about with real people, to listen.

" The American conservative wants an honest and humble spokesman unafraid to mill about with real people, to listen?" Boy were they barking up the wrong tree!

Okay clearly this poor woman is still a moron. But at least she is a moron that has finally recognized that the "Liberal Left" has been right about Sarah Palin all along.

Boy THAT must burn her ass!

Mitt Romney accuses President Obama of saying things that aren't true. Oh you should NOT have done that!

Not since Sarah Palin have we seen ANYBODY who lies as much as Mitt Romney, with the possible exception of his running mate, Paul Ryan.

I dare Mitt the Twit to accuse Obama of lying during this upcoming debate. I double dog dare him!

Somebody's glass house is about to meet a barrage of cast stones!

Sarah Palin wants President Obama to give back the 1 million dollar donation he received from Bill Maher, because she believes Maher is a "rabid misogynist." This is a joke, right?

'Yeah Bill Maher is a misogynist, but not Rush Limbaugh. He's one of us! A racist!"
From the Lunatic from Lake Lucille's Facebook page:

Pres. Obama says he called Sandra Fluke because of his daughters. For the sake of everyone's daughter, why doesn't his super PAC return the $1 million he got from a rabid misogynist?

WTF?

Didn't this idiot JUST throw Sandra Fluke under the bus after Rush Limbaugh called her a "slut"  and a "prostitute?"

Yeah I kind of think she did!

And speaking of returning donations Snowdrift Snooki, did you give back YOUR donations after pretending to run for President, when you knew all along you weren't, while grifting tons of money from people who could ill afford it?

NO, you did not.

I think we are going to have to come up with a stronger word than hypocrite to describe Sarah Palin. I just don't think that quite captures the depth of her deceptive personality.

Was Sarah Palin pro-choice before she was pro-life?

"Oh dammit! I forgot about that one!"
A very alert reader sent me this interesting link from the recent e-mail dump.

In it they found this rather surprising e-mail from Frank Bailey.

From: frank bailey [ftb907@yahoo.com]
Sent: Monday, May 12, 2008 10:06 PM
To: Leighow; Sharon W (GOV)
Cc: Hughes; Rosanne D (GOV); Sarah Palin; kris Perry
Subject: pro-choice website

Sharon,

I looked and they finally pulled the Gov's picture off of www.alaskaprochoice.org website.
Nice job staying on that one. Thank you.

What, you may be asking yourself? Sarah Palin, queen of anti-abortion protestors, had her picture up on a PRO-CHOICE website.

Yep she sure did.

This picture was featured on the Alliance for Reproductive Justice, right up until Palin's assistant Sharon Leighow demanded they take it down before the folks trying to shoehorn her onto the McCain presidential ticket caught wind of it. Which apparently they never did.

Until now of course.

Here is just a portion of the group's Mission Statement.

The Alliance for Reproductive Justice is a statewide coalition of organizations working together to protect and promote reproductive rights and services through education, advocacy and referrals.

The Alliance for Reproductive Justice promotes policies and practices that protect women's access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care through education and grassroots organizing strategies. We seek to empower women, girls and men to improve reproductive health care services, including abortion care, and related policies in Alaska. We achieve this by coordinating actions and facilitating cooperation among Alaskan organizations committed to choice.

Under the heading "What Else We Do?" they have this at the top:

Advocate for access to abortion services and high quality reproductive health care for Alaskan women.

Wow! That certainly would not have gone over very well with the Religious Right now would it? Can you just imagine how much damage this would have done to the McCain campaign if it had come out in 2008?

Now go ahead and tell me again that Palin had NO idea that McCain was going to pick her!

No wonder Palin fought so hard to keep these e-mails out of the hands of bloggers and journalists!

By the way, you can still see Palin's picture over at the ARJ website courtesy of the wayback machine, by clicking here.

Herman Cain has an epiphany.

Nah, you were NEVER going to be President.

Now if you wanted to demonstrate respect for your so-called conservative values, or your wife, or your children?
