I think I might have burned a retina.

And that my friends is the Republican party in a nutshell.

You know if you are a selfish POS who does not care for your fellow man of course.

I at first thought these people had turned their back to Hillary in order to wave at somebody out of camera range, which I thought was terribly rude.

But then I realized that it was selfie time and was simply struck by how important social media has become to the outcome of our elections.

GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan loves to pretend that the GOP doesn’t have a race problem. The 2012 autopsy report from the spectacular loss of the Romney/Ryan ticket to President Obama and Vice President Biden had a lot of so-called “minority outreach” goals. Clearly, none of those goals have been accomplished. After all, the current GOP standard-bearer, Donald Trump, has run a campaign that is steeped in racism. He kicked off his campaign by calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals, he has called for a ban on all Muslims entering the United States, has called women fat pigs and dogs, and accused Fox host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly of being menstrual when called out on this, and a whole host of other things that play to the bigotry that is so inherent in the current incarnation of the GOP. 

All of that aside though, there is one very telling photo making the rounds on the internet that perfectly illustrates just how, well WHITE the Republican Party is, despite the wide range of diversity that makes up the actual country. It’s a priceless selfie of Paul Ryan showcasing himself with bunches of young republicans, and you won’t see one face of color in that grand sea of white. 

Well I think this post is inherently unfair.

After all if you look three rows back there is clearly a person of Asian descent in the audience.

And there have to be a least a couple of Jewish people, right?

Okay well I tried, but clearly the Republican party is screwed.

Man shoots himself while taking selfie with gun.

A 43-year-old man has died after authorities say he accidentally shot himself in the face while taking selfies. 

The Skagit Valley Herald reports the man and his girlfriend were photographing themselves with the weapon on Sunday at a residence when he shot himself. 

Skagit County Sheriff's Office Patrol Chief Chad Clark says the woman reported that she and the man had taken photos with the gun several times that day and that the man had loaded and unloaded bullets multiple times. 

Clark says a bullet apparently remained in the gun the final time he fired.

I don't know what is more pathetic, that this idiot died in this way, or that this is by no means the first time something like this has happened. 

Just another day in the NRA's America.

Nineteen year old shoots himself dead while taking selfies with gun.

 A man posing with a gun and taking selfies was killed when the gun went off and struck him in southwest Houston, police said. 

Family members said the victim is 19-year-old Deleon Alonso Smith. 

Investigators said Smith was taking selfies with a gun at an apartment in the 9800 block of Forum Park Drive and Bissonnet around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when the gun accidentally went off, shooting the 19-year-old in the throat and killing him.

I don't want to sound callous but when it comes to accidental shootings this is one of the better outcomes.

I mean no innocent people were shot, and this guy will no longer pose a danger to his community with his careless gun handling.

I'm just saying.

Can't we just keep him?

Today marks the President's last day up here in Alaska.

And the guy has been having a blast, while also learning a lot of important information about how climate change is impacting our state.

Not only that but MOST of the people really like him up here.

And he's even made some new friends.

And it's not like he can't get things done while he's up here.

I'll tell you what, I will gladly trade our two Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, PLUS  Rep. Don Young, AND any two Palins of your choosing, if you all will just let the guy stay up here permanently.

I mean come on, that's a good trade.

Well maybe, just maybe, once President Obama leaves office he will consider coming back for a longer visit.

I am sure he will always be welcome.

Despite what some on our lunatic fringe might want him to believe.

Screw Sarah Palin and her talk about taking pictures with cold fish, I would much rather have my picture taken with any of these amazing men.

Has Sarah Palin ever said ANYTHING that was not full of hypocrisy? Never mind, rhetorical question.

Okay so you all remember this from yesterday right?

When I posted it I was mostly focused on the fact that it was yet another attempt to grift more money from the ignorant masses, and that Sarah Palin is woefully unqualified to host a show about hunting.

Well as the day wore on many people focused on that stupid quote, and pointed out that such a died in the wool narcissist like Sarah Palin was certainly not one to judge a young lady's desire to take pictures of herself and send them to friends and family.

And oh, you could NOT be more right about that.

I mean seriously?

Some have postulated that Palin was taking a cheap shot at the President over this famous selfie.

Which of course would certainly be true to form for her, since she seems to find EVERYTHING the President does objectionable in one way or another.

However before she starts giving people advice on how to behave in front of a camera, she might need to take a little of that advice herself.

She might also consider who else is engaging in the behavior that she seems to find so offensive.

Judgmental, hypocritical, and never self analytical, that is Sarah Palin in a nutshell.
