In EXTRA interview Sarah Palin defends the 2nd Amendment and cheers the fact that Donald Trump is "kicking butt."

I almost spit up my coffee when Palin called guns a "tool" and compared them to a knife or a fist.

This interview was before Trump's recent remarks about keeping Muslims out of the country, but I am not at all certain that Palin's opinion about his "butt kicking" has changed any.

Palin also addresses the upcoming birth of "Sailor" (Poor kid.) and suggests that she expects to spend Christmas with Bristol who will be in labor. (So Jesus is coming back as a female?)

At one point Palin gives Donald Trump yet another pass for mocking that disabled reporter, which is especially hypocritical since she recently had her ghostwriter type up this statement about an upcoming "docu-series" on Down syndrome from A&E:

I love this so much! My kids sent me clips of this upcoming show while I'm here on the road for my book tour. It brought tears to my eyes, in a good way! The kids were so happy to see this, too. They had shown Trig the show's clips, trying to discern if his reaction reflected any recognition of his beautiful brothers and sisters beautifully showcased on his iPad screen. (Trig isn't very verbal, but signed to his siblings that he was very irritated they'd interrupted his Nat Geo baby animals documentary at the time, and demanded they just turn it back on. So, yeah... that.)

Pop culture now gets another powerful look at how valuable every innocent life is. I'm so glad to see the celebration and tolerance of beautiful people who may look "different" than what societal standards want to tell us is perfect or even acceptable.

When I discovered very early on in my pregnancy that my son Trig had an extra chromosome, that he was a child with Down syndrome, it rocked my world. I was scared of the unknown. But, as I write in my devotional, Sweet Freedom, with this situation and with all the fears and trials life may hit us with, I knew I could I desperately call out to God for Truth in the situation. God tells us in the Psalms that He knits us together in the womb, and that we are 'fearfully and wonderfully made.' God say, "I've got this!"

The minute Trig was born, God answered my prayers with changed eyes to be able to see my son as a gorgeous perfect gift for the Palins. And He exchanged my fear with a heart full of a curious, excited anticipation for what all Trig would be teaching us.

I'm so happy to have him; so blessed to be gifted a really cool, unique, fun, challenging, loving, sometimes exhausting, very special little guy who's changed our lives for the better! God values the sanctity of every innocent life, no matter how small, no matter how many chromosomes.

A show like this will strive to influence pop culture so more people may embrace all of God's creation. If we support these efforts, the show's message and meaning will resonate and succeed in helping make the world a better place.

And not to rub it in, but viewers are going to see that those of us who have loved ones with special needs like Down syndrome will see why I say, “We won! For, my kid has more chromosomes than your kid!”

So much BS, so little time.

Extra TV went to Wasilla so that Sarah Palin could triple down on her defense of the Duggar family. Seriously?

Courtesy of Extra TV: Sarah Palin is explaining her decision to support the Duggar family in the wake of the sexual molestation scandal that has rocked their family. The outspoken former governor spoke to “Extra” at her home in Alaska, revealing why it was so important for her to speak out on behalf of the Duggar family.

Here is the transcript of Palin's entire response to questions from Extra:

"Oh ya know I’ve been one to desire to speak out on behalf of victims, for one, and there are victims in this issue with the Duggars (Palin pronounces their name as "Doogers."), and others sexually exploited and assaulted and had to live with the advances, sexually speaking, from someone they trusted. (Okay since when has Palin been a victim's advocate? Did I miss a memo?) So...uh...really wanted to speak out on behalf of  victims, but even more so, in this case, speaking about the media' hypocrisy about how they try to crucify an entire family for a fourteen year old kid's actions twelve years ago.”

One hard edit later:

"Unfortunately this has all been rebirthed (sic) and the girls had trusted their counselors and trusted law enforcement that what they were telling law enforcement and counselors that it would all be confidential, it would be private, and here it's busted out for all the world to see, and for them to be humiliated by."

Another hard edit:

" And yet the clips that I've seen they did such a good job in explaining that they've forgiven their fourteen brother."

Hard edit.

"Well I think Josh right now is certainly being...um...punished in the court of public opinion."

Hard edit:

"Not a whole lot of people had heard of em before this so...um...he though perhaps now being able to use these very, very less than idill (sic) circumstances...turning them into..uh...uh...maybe a format that he can use to educate others, and to help others get through some really tough situations. Perhaps that is part of the redemption that he would capitalize on and ultimately help society."

What is he Captain America of the child molesters now?

And why hasn't Palin attacked Lena Dunham yet?

Oh, here we go:

"Lena Dunham is the most exploitive character that I’ve ever heard of who brags about, offers up, is celebrated for her sexual exploitation of a little girl, breaks my heart."

Yet another hard edit:

"My daughter Bristol had been watching the interview about the Duggar situation and it occurred to her 'Wait a minute why is this entire family being crucified when you have someone on the other end of the political spectrum, a very, very liberal actress, who is seen as being cute, and quirky, and ha ha look at her she, she sexually abused a little girl and yet she is rewarded with fame and fortune.'"

When Palin says "her daughter" here what she really means to say "Nancy French." I think the only thing that occurs to Bristol these days is that she better roll over so she does not drunkenly choke to death on her own vomit.

At the end of the interview Extra TV has to meet their obligations by asking Palin about running for President, as if anybody in the country still considers that a possibility.

"Of course I would never say never. Who knows? I mean there are many, many months to go and...um...stranger things have happened."

Stranger things have happened than a washed up reality star,  deciding to run for the highest office in the land, after defending an admitted child molester?

Go ahead name one.

Okay at this point I am willing to entertain the idea that Palin's almost histrionic defense of the Duggar family might have something to do with her own fears that records concerning her family can be subject to a FOIA request and might be revealed to the public.

Hmm, maybe I should get on that.

Sarah Palin's interview on EXTRA pimping the return of Amazing America is just as ridiculous as you might imagine.

I am simply not in the mood to attempt a transcript today so you will have to go to the link to hear the whole thing, but here is some of what Palin said courtesy of EXTRA TV:

Palin explained, "2016 is a long time away… that's a big darn deal when it comes to family."

This was in response to the invariable question about whether Palin is running in 2016 or not. (Spoiler alert: She's not!)

Thompson asked, "Hillary Clinton's name has been floating out there for a long time as the Democratic nominee. Are we ready for that?" Sarah responded, "I would love to see a woman on both sides of the aisle shooting for that top spot."

"Shooting for that top spot?" Oh look more gun metaphors.

As for the second season of "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," Palin said, "There's so much to show… we're going to focus a lot on those who are reaching out and helping others. We're going to showcase a lot of these people who can inspire others to get out there and live vibrantly. It's about work ethic, but still keeping that connection between faith, family, and love of freedom. That's America!"

Some day, some reporter is going to have the balls to ask Palin just what in the hell she means by "living vibrantly." Because unless it means "living drunkenly" I don't think it relates to her family's way of life.

Palin also shared that her family is doing well. "My family is awesome. Perhaps they have some kind of target on their back because the liberal media types, they do not like constitutional conservatives who are going to call it like they see it and speak truth. So they'll do whatever they can to get you to sit down and shut up, but I'm not wired to sit down and shut up."

That may be but according to those police audio tapes from the brawl the family is programmed to fall down and drink up.

And just to be clear the family does not "have a target on their backs" because they are "constitutional conservatives," which by the way I don't think any of them really are.

They attract attention for doing crazy disruptive things, or because Palin herself draws attention to them in order to hide behind, make them promote one of her pet issues, or, in Bristol's case, use their blog to attack the President.

Essentially this interview was just the same old crap as usual.

I did however notice that the wind was making Palin's wig super obvious. At one point she reaches up to fix her hair, and then stops right above the bangs so as not to knock the wig loose.

If it had taken flight this might have been the most entertaining Palin video yet. Perhaps even better than the Thanksgiving turkey slaughter video.

Well, maybe.

Well it's official, Sarah Palin is finally back to work standing in front of a green screen and pretending to know about hunting and the outdoors.

Apparently Charissa Thompson, a reporter from EXTRA, is tweeting about going "hunting" with Sarah Palin as a promotion for the second season of Amazing America.
Welcome for what exactly?
Gee riding a horse just like her idol Ronald Reagan. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Ten bucks says there will be no footage of her horse running or galloping, and that in every scene it will only be walking slowly along with a pack of handlers nearby in case it gets spooked.

Personally I am dying to see how they film her fake hunting scenes.

Hmm, I wonder if they will use CGI this season?

Lightweight interview with Sarah Palin by Extra's Mario Lopez, which she tries desperately to make into something controversial.

Courtesy of Extra TV:

Lopez asked if Hillary Clinton becoming a grandmother will make her more electable if she runs in 2016.

Palin answered, “I think it will kind of broaden her world view. I think anyone who is a grandparent really starts looking further down the road. We start thinking about things like $17-trillion debt that our nation is under and what we’re going to hand that to our grandkids for them to pay off… that’s not fair to our grandkids. Hopefully, she’ll start thinking along those terms, too.”  (Palin also used this opportunity to suggest that being a grandparent will change Hillary's view on abortion: "Also she just knowing that her Chelsea is pregnant with a BABY! It's a real BABY, ya know. It's not just some disposal something, and I know that's going to be controversial." Yeah, you hope.)

How about her own run for president in 2016? “Oh my goodness, it would be some time down the road because a lot can happen, especially in the world of politics in the matter of days, weeks, months, much less two years.” (The media really needs to drop this. The bitch ain't running!)

Palin also used this interview to redefine baptism.

"Yeah somebody needs to get to Webster's Dictionary and look up what it means to baptize. That means to submerge. It means to dunk."

You know I don't often take a Sarah Palin suggestion to heart, but I did this time.

Here is the Meriam-Webster definition for Baptize:

: to perform the ceremony of baptism for (someone)

: to officially make someone a member of a specified Christian church through the ceremony of baptism

: to give (someone) a name through the ceremony of baptism

Yep, no mention of submerging or dunking anywhere on the page.

In my best Keith Olbermann impersonation, "That woman, is an idiot!"
