Donald Trump takes to Twitter to suggest that a Clinton aide, and possibly James Comey, should be investigated and arrested by the "Deep State Justice Department." Update!

Courtesy of Politico:

The emails to which Trump referred, released last week in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the conservative group Judicial Watch, were the same batch uncovered during the final weeks of the 2016 presidential election. The FBI’s disclosure to Congress that it was examining the emails in relation to its closed investigation of Clinton’s use of a personal email server during her tenure as secretary of state offered Trump a powerful line of attack in the 2016 campaign’s closing days, and Clinton has blamed her loss in large part on the FBI’s resurfacing of the email scandal.

The FBI’s review of the emails discovered on Weiner’s computer revealed nothing to change the bureau’s assessment that Clinton’s homebrew email system did not rise to the level of criminal charges, but their release has nonetheless prompted fresh calls from Trump and his allies for continued probing of Clinton and her team.

Let me reiterate once again that Hillary Clinton's email server was NOT hacked.

However the State Department, the DNC, the NSC, the RNC, John Podesta, and even the White House were all hacked. So exactly how did Huma Abedin forwarding the emails to her laptop to be printed off, make them any more vulnerable to hackers?

This is just Donald Trump once again going after his perceived political enemies again.

And speaking of going after his perceived enemies, for what exact reason would the Justice Department be investigating James Comey?

Because he failed to stop the Michael Flynn investigation, that has now led to a plea deal with Robert Mueller? Or is it because he refused to pledge his allegiance to Donald Trump when asked?

Speaking of Trump tweets, the imbecile also just took credit for keeping the skies safer in 2017.
Apparently Trump does not realize that aerodynamic designs and powerful engines keep commercial planes aloft, not mountains upon mountains of bullshit.

Update: By the way this is the email from the Abedin laptop that has Donald Trump and the Right Wing all worked up.

If you look at the bottom you will see that it say "unclassified."

James Comey claims that he is made "mildly nauseous" by the idea that he may have affected the outcome of the 2016 election.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Mr. Comey said he went public on Oct. 28 because he believed that the emails found by his agents might provide insight into Mrs. Clinton’s reasons for using a private server as secretary of state and might change the outcome of the investigation. Failing to inform Congress, Mr. Comey said, would have a required an “act of concealment.”

“Concealment, in my view, would have been catastrophic,” he said, adding later that he knew the decision would be “disastrous for me personally.”

What Mr. Comey viewed as concealing, Justice Department officials viewed simply as following the rules. The F.B.I. does not normally confirm ongoing investigations. Senior Justice Department officials urged him not to send a letter to Congress informing them that the bureau was examining the new emails.

I have to say that I was made more than just mildly nauseous by Comey's contention that he only had two choices before him, and that he made the one that he believed would NOT be "catastrophic."

In my opinion the truth is just the exact opposite, and that if Hillary had won, and it had been revealed that Comey kept quiet about any new evidence, it would only have added more fodder for the investigations that the Republicans were already preparing to launch once she was in the White House.

In the end it would only have resulted in some Republicans bitching about Comey on Twitter and then calling him to endlessly testify before Congress about what he learned, which they would have done if Clinton won no matter what he had said, or not said, before the election.

After listening to Comey's testimony I came away with the sense that he has really worked hard to convince himself that he had no choice in going public, but that at some level he realizes that he fucked up.

Here was another exchange, this time with Senator Al Franken, discussing the importance of looking into Trump's financial records and tax returns to help understand why Putin chose to help him win the election.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

The Minnesota Democrat laid out business relationships between Trump, his White House staff, cabinet officials, campaign advisers and Russia, and he asked whether FBI investigators had access to the president’s tax returns.

Comey declined to say whether investigators had viewed Trump’s taxes, but he agreed that had Russia in the past exploited financial arrangements to influence politics abroad.

“I hope people don’t over-interpret my answers, but I don’t want to start talking about anything — what we’re looking at and how,” Comey said.

He agreed that intelligence agencies believed Russia had a clear preference for Trump, which he said was based in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s dislike for Hillary Clinton.

“The intelligence community assessed that Putin believed he would be more able to make deals, reach agreements with someone with a business background rather than someone who had grown up in more of a government environment,” Comey said.

He declined to say whether investigators believed Trump was vulnerable to manipulation through his business contacts with Russians, including the oligarch who purchased a Palm Beach, Florida, mansion from him a decade ago.

I thought that Franken's questions were some of the best of the hearing, and I thought that he probably touched on many of the things that the FBI are likely looking into concerning possible collusion between the Trump team and the Russians.

Other things we learned, or had reinforced, during the testimony:
  • That the "thousands of emails" which were on Anthony Weiner's laptop were there because Huma Abedin sent them there to be printed off so that Hillary could review the hard copies later.
  • That initially Comey thought these might be some of mysterious "missing" 30,000 e-mails that the Republicans had made a cause celeb during their numerous investigations into Clinton.
  • The investigation into the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia is still ongoing.
  • Comey said that journalists who receive classified information are not criminals, but that the folks who send them that information might be.
  • Comey does not consider what Wikileaks does as legitimate journalism, and claimed they traffic in "intelligence porn."
  • That the Russians are STILL interfering in American politics, and in European politics as well.
  • And Comey says that they are "the greatest threat of any nation on earth."
My take away from this hearing was that Comey is simply covering his own ass, that he was more afraid of his own agents than he was of the consequences of his interference, and that currently he is very serious about investigating Trump's ties to Russia.

That sounds like very good news for us, and not so good news for a certain tangerine colored tyrannical toddler.

Federal judge orders release of FBI search warrant to search Huma Abedin's e-mails. Update!

Courtesy of Fox News:

A federal judge on Monday ordered the release of the search warrant the FBI used to reopen their probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server days before the November election.

U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel ruled Monday morning that the public had a right to see the warrant, which he said was secretly filed with the court on Oct. 30.

“The search warrant, the application for the search warrant, the affidavit in support of the application for the search warrant, and the search warrant return will be unsealed and posted on the Court's electronic case filing system” subject to redactions, Castel said in his order.

The court dispute concerns the warrant agents used to get access to emails stored on a computer belonging to Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The Justice Department could block this order if they choose, but if not we might actually find out what excuse the FBI came up with to hijack our election.

And that is a question which I really think deserves a damn answer.

Update: Okay so now we have our damn answer. And that answer appears to be that there was no reason for the warrant.

That is the Facebook page of the California defense attorney who filed the lawsuit to gain access to this warrant.

A warrant that he claims shows no probable cause.

If he is accurate it would appear that the Clintons have fairly good lawsuit on their hands, and I think a criminal investigation of James Comey is in order as well.

Huma Abedin seeks to review FBI search warrant that interfered with presidential election.

Courtesy of Reuters:

Huma Abedin, the longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, asked a U.S. judge on Wednesday to allow her to review a search warrant the FBI used to gain access to emails related to Clinton's private server shortly before the Nov. 8 presidential election.

In a letter filed in Manhattan federal court, Abedin said she was never provided a copy of the warrant, nor was her estranged husband, former Democratic U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner, whose computer contained the emails in question.

The letter was filed as a federal judge considers whether to unseal the application for the search warrant, which was obtained after FBI Director James Comey informed Congress of newly discovered emails on Oct. 28.

Comey's letter drew new attention to a damaging issue for Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and roiled the campaign 11 days before the election won by Republican Donald Trump.

In their letter, Abedin's lawyers said she was unable to evaluate the issue as neither she nor Weiner was provided the warrant itself, despite federal rules requiring authorities to provide a warrant to a person whose property was taken.

You not to sound all conspiratorial, but I am beginning to wonder if a warrant even exists for this search.

I am also concerned that if there isn't one it will not really matter in the long run now that Donald Trump is soon to be sworn in as president.

After all Trump protects those who are loyal to him, and let's face it James Comey risked his job and his reputation to help him win this election.

Holocaust attorney files lawsuit to learn what justification the FBI used for interfering in the 2016 election.

James Comey
Courtesy of Raw Story:

E. Randol Schoenberg, an attorney renowned for recovering artworks stolen by Nazis during the Holocaust, filed a lawsuit against the FBI this week to get answers about why Director James Comey falsely suggested that Hillary Clinton committed a crime just days before the 2016 election.

“I filed a lawsuit today against the US Department of Justice seeking immediate disclosure of the FBI search warrant for the e-mails of Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin on Anthony Weiner’s laptop,” Schoenberg wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday. “I think we need to see what ‘probable cause’ was shown for obtaining the search warrant, because whoever thought there was going to be evidence of a crime was obviously mistaken. And that mistake probably changed the outcome of the election.”

In a blog post late last month, Schoenberg explained that it would be very unusual for a judge to grant the FBI a search warrant “[s]imply because someone has the ability to commit the crime of intentionally violating laws governing the handling of classified information.”

“To obtain a warrant it had to establish probable cause to believe that evidence of a crime would be found.

Since we now know that no such evidence was found on the laptop, it is time to investigate why the FBI believed it had probable cause.”

One possible theory, Schoenberg said, is that “the new allegations came from people associated with the Trump campaign.”

You know what, I'd like to learn the answer to this as well.

Schoenberg implicated Chris Christie and Rudy Giuliani as possibly being involved, and suggested that if this does lead back to Donald Trump that he could face impeachment.

I have serious doubts about that last part, but I would still like to know what kind of behind the scenes manipulations were used to convince James Comey to risk his reputation and his future to undermine Hillary Clinton and throw the race to Donald Trump.

I think as Americans we all deserve an answer to that.

Newsweek reveals why this latest FBI e-mail "investigation" was never really a thing.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation determined that almost every email discovered in a laptop used primarily by the husband of an aide to Hillary Clinton was a duplicate of previously produced documents or personal emails, a person close to the case told Newsweek. As a result, FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress Sunday saying the new emails have not changed the bureau’s earlier decision that no crime occurred with Clinton’s use of a private server while she was secretary of state.

Less than two weeks ago, Comey set the election on its head when he informed Congress that his agents had located emails that “appear to be pertinent” to the Clinton investigation. At that point, the FBI did not have a warrant to review the emails, nor had they sought permission from the owners of the laptop to search it. In fact, people involved in the case said, the FBI never asked either the Clinton aide, Huma Abedin, or her husband, former Congressman Anthony Weiner, if they would voluntarily allow for such a search.

The night of the disclosure, Newsweek reported that the emails were from as many as three accounts—one through Yahoo, one on the domain clintonemail.com, and one from an account Abedin used in support of one of Weiner’s campaigns for office. Last week, Newsweek learned that that account was through Gmail. In other words, Abedin’s personal account provided by the State Department for non-classified emails was not involved. Abedin, who did not know Clinton used a private server for her emails, told the bureau in an April interview that she used the account on the clintonemail.com domain only for issues related to the secretary’s personal affairs, such as communicating with her friends. For work-related records, Abedin primarily used the email account provided to her by the State Department.

So to be clear the FBI should have realized from the very beginning that they were never going to find a "smoking gun" in these e-mails.

And yet James Comey issued that letter to Congress on October 28th anyway.

The Newsweek article goes on to say that the reason there were duplicates of e-mails on this laptop is that Huma sent them from her non-classified e-mail at the State Department so that she could print them at home for Hillary because the State Department is apparently several decades behind technologically.

NONE of the e-mails she sent herself were confidential or classified, they just contained information pertinent to her boss who it seems likes to read them on actual paper.

In another interesting aside, despite what the Trump campaign might want you to believe, Edward Snowden suggests that the FBI COULD have gone through the e-mails on this laptop in a matter of hours.
If true that means that the FBI should have figured this whole thing out well before Comey sent that letter to Congress on October 28th.

And yet he sent it.

Wikileaks, Russia, the Republicans, and now the FBI, all working as one to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming our next President.

Who ever thought that the idea of a female President would be so terrifying?

Sarah Palin attacks Huma Abedin for coddling a man who demeans and objectifies women. Yep my irony meter just exploded again. Update!

Sarah Palin doing her part to fight the objectifying and exploitation of women.
Courtesy of Hypocritical Hanna's Facebook page:

Unbelievable: in a tinderbox world, media's willful ignorance of Clinton personnel with top security clearance - in careless possession of highly sensitive national security communications, no less.

Watch these tip-of-the-iceberg points about top Clinton aid Huma Abedin. It's beyond sketchy why Huma (Abedin) Weiner has not had to answer for her pals, associations and influences when in possession of some of our country's life or death communications. (Life and death communications?) As we know, who someone has "palled around with" for years matters, as it's undeniable one's worldview is helped shaped by them. (Isn't this just a retread of her old argument against President Obama?)

Recall the ridiculous hard-news investigations of every long-lost relative of mine (and even my old Wasilla Jr. High classmates I hadn't seen in decades) when the press feigned responsible vetting when I was on a national stage. Compare that to reporters today turning their blind eye to a dangerous situation where a top leader's top staffer carelessly possesses State secrets - secrets her bizarre husband, Mr. Weiner, was evidently privy to.

Wiener inserted himself into potentially blackmailed positions by using tools containing hundreds of thousands of pieces of his wife's (thus, Clinton's) government communications. (Okay that is just bullshit. All we have been told is that there are thousands of e-mails, not that they have ANYTHING to do with Hillary.) (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/…/Anthony-Weiner-checked-facilit… You can't make this stuff up, and it's for another day that disgust is expressed for women who'd coddle a man who has it in him to demean and objectify an underage girl (my daughter Piper's age!) with his perverted sex chats.)

(Yeah the only thing worse might be if you seduced women and turned them out as prostitutes.)

With political winds finally shifting away from Globalists (Another Alex Jones term.) who've arrogantly lorded over us to We the People, I look forward to the shift in media where basic investigative journalism becomes a norm. Recent citizen journalism has done the job we'd once tasked mainstream media to do as America's "referee" or cornerstone of democracy. That must change when the political shake-up rocks our world on November 8.

- Sarah Palin

Palin then links to a conspiracy laced video in the vein of Alex Jones, which reputes to prove that Abedin is a secret agent from Saudi Arabia who is secretly working to overthrow democracy in America. (And here I thought Donald Trump was just doing that openly.)

First I would like to accept the atta boy that Palin just issued on behalf of all of us "citizen journalists."

Shucks tweren't nothing. Glad I could help.

However I must follow that up by pointing out that Sarah Palin is the LAST person who should be talking about demeaning or objectifying women.

ALL that she did during the 2008 campaign was use her looks and sexy librarian costume in an attempt to seduce old men into voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, and by doing so helped to set the women's rights movement back a decade or more.

As for demeaning young girls, what did she think she did to Bristol by dragging her pregnant ass out onto the national stage?

And as for protecting a victimizer remember it was not so long ago that Palin helped her son avoid jail time for drunkenly beating his girlfriend while waving a gun around.

As for Anthony Weiner I really don't think that anybody is willing to defend his disgusting actions (Hell I doubt that Anthony Weiner's parents would defend Anthony Weiner at this point.), however that cannot be blamed on Huma Abedin.

However Sarah Palin is throwing stones while standing in the most fragile of glass houses here.

Update: You know I typed this whole thing without taking into account that the candidate who Palin is endorsing is a thousand times worse than Anthony Wiener, and might actually be a child rapist, so her glass house is in fact already fractured.

Despite Republican talking points it turns out the FBI did NOT ask Clinton aides for all of their electronic devices.

Courtesy of Politico:

The FBI never asked Hillary Clinton's top aides to turn over all the computers and smartphones they used while Clinton was secretary of state, an omission that is now triggering questions from Republican lawmakers.

While the FBI made a concerted effort to obtain all the computers that were used as Clinton's private server and ultimately asked two of Clinton's lawyers for laptops used to review her email messages, investigators never requested or demanded all equipment her top staffers used for work purposes during her four years at State, a source familiar with the investigation told POLITICO.

"No one was asked for devices by the FBI," said the source, who requested anonymity.

Even if you have only casually been paying attention to this story you have probably heard one of Trump's surrogates, or a GOP operative, ranting that these discovered e-mails prove that the Clinton camp defied a court order to turn over ALL of their electronic devices during the investigation into Hillary's private server.

But as it turns out there was never a subpoena served nor even an official request made.

The only known official requests Abedin and other Clinton aides appear to have received for their own emails from the period were requests the State Department made last year for potential federal records the aides might have in their possession and requests the House Benghazi Committee made for certain Libya-related records around the same time. In neither instance were the aides asked for their computers , smartphones or backup drives.

In most news reports we learned that Abedin was cooperative during the investigation and there is no reason to suspect otherwise at this point.

And as it turns out even SHE was surprised that e-mails were found on this device:

In another twist to the investigative saga over Hillary Clinton’s private emails, CBS News has learned that Huma Abedin, a top Clinton aide and longtime confidant, says she has no knowledge of any of her emails being on the electronic device belonging to her estranged husband, disgraced ex-congressman Anthony Weiner.

A source familiar with the investigation told CBS News that the computer where FBI investigators found the latest trove of emails belonged to Weiner, not Abedin. The two separated earlier this year, following news of Weiner’s continued sexting practices.

My prediction is that just like every....other....time this is going to prove to be much ado about nothing.

And if all of this really does have an effect on the outcome of this election then James Comey should be investigated fully to determine just how twisted his arm or paid him off to throw a wrench into the works.

Harry Reid's letter to James Comey accuses him of sitting on "explosive" evidence of ties between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Courtesy of CBS News:

The pugilistic Reid, who plans to retire after finishing out this term in Congress, penned a blistering letter to Comey Sunday, accusing the FBI chief of holding back “explosive” information about Donald Trump’s close Russian ties while possibly violating the Hatch Act by reviving the Clinton email investigation.

“Your actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another,” Reid wrote, adding that through Comey’s “partisan actions, you may have broken the law.”

The Nevada Democrat went on to insinuate Comey’s violation of the Hatch Act, which prohibits “activity directed towards the success or failure” of a candidate by executive branch employees.

“[Y]our highly selective approach to publicizing information, along with your timing, was intended for the success or failure of a partisan candidate or political group,” Reid wrote.

Damn! You go get 'em Senator Reid!

If true that Comey has evidence of ties between Trump and Putin, ties that he has kept to himself, then it makes it much harder NOT to see him as a partisan operative.

And if that was not enough to make that case there is also his decision not to confirm the Russian hacks.

Courtesy of CNBC:

FBI Director James Comey argued privately that it was too close to Election Day for the United States government to name Russia as meddling in the U.S. election and ultimately ensured that the FBI's name was not on the document that the U.S. government put out, a former FBI official tells CNBC.

In the end, the Department of Homeland Security and The Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued the statement on Oct. 7, saying "The U.S. intelligence community is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of emails from US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations…These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process."

According to the former official, Comey agreed with the conclusion the intelligence community came to: "A foreign power was trying to undermine the election. He believed it to be true, but was against putting it out before the election." Comey's position, this official said, was "if it is said, it shouldn't come from the FBI, which as you'll recall it did not."

That statement put out by the government, which  FBI Director James Comey refrained from participating with since it was so close to the election, came out on October 7th.

The letter that Comey sent to the Senators about the POSSIBILITY of emails on Huma Abedin's computer came out on October 28th, three weeks closer to election day.

You know if it walks like a partisan operative, and it talks like a partisan operative, well then you go ahead and draw your own conclusions.

The new evidence which inspired James Comey to drop a bomb on this election cycle, what we know.

That is just a sample of the outrage directed at James Comey in response to notifying Congress about these "new" emails.

Many are calling for his resignation, while others are trying to tamp down the inferno of speculation and accusations that have been the result.

Courtesy of the Daily Beast:

The emails that Donald Trump has claimed will bring down Hillary Clinton are not quite the bombshell that he thinks, reports said Saturday. The revelation about new emails related to Hillary Clinton came out Friday, after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress on the matter, a move that triggered panic and sent stocks plunging. Trump quickly swept up the story and told supporters the scandal would be “bigger than Watergate.” Yet an official told the Los Angeles Times late Friday that the emails in question weren’t sent to or from Clinton, nor did they contain any new information. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Comey’s letter to Congress was more a formality than anything else. NBC’s Pete Williams later reiterated that, saying FBI sources had told him that not only were the emails not from Clinton, but they had nothing to do with her.

If this report is true, and there has been no information released to refute it, then that means that this whole thing is much ado about nothing.

And the person pouring gasoline all over what seems to barely be a spark, is of course Donald Trump

TRUMP: The FBI has just sent a letter to Congress informing them that they have discovered new e-mails pertaining to the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s investigation …

CROWD: Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!

TRUMP: And they are reopening her case into her criminal and illegal conduct that threatens the security of the United States of America.

(APPLAUSE)

Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we have never seen before. We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office. I have great respect for the fact that the FBI and the Department of Justice are now willing to have the courage to right the horrible mistake that they made.

(APPLAUSE)

This was a grave miscarriage of justice that the American people fully understood. And it is everybody’s hope that it is about to be corrected.

Of course nothing is going to "be corrected" because there is really nothing TO be corrected.

But Donald Trump has NEVER cared about the truth, and in fact it rarely makes an appearance at one of his rallies, and neither do his supporters.

All Trump cares about is throwing red meat to his audience of knuckle dragging morons, and all they care about is having their irrational hate of Hillary, the government, and the media reinforced.

So yes this will blow over, but when it does it will only be to make room for the next phony "scandal" that Trump supporters are certain will destroy Hillary Clinton's candidacy.

Do you want to see Sarah Palin essentially spinning out of control in response to this new information about the FBI investigation? Sure you do.

Courtesy of the Psyche Ward's Poster Girl's Facebook page:

My, what a tangled web they weave.

Hillary's right hand man, Huma, now swallowed up in democrats' dangerous State Secrets scandal. Tip of the Huma iceberg reveals evidence destroyed and subpoenas ignored; Huma-husband sextings; Huma-resume proving unconventional Muslim sympathies; Huma-family business locale with dots connecting Osama Bin Laden's brother... Oh brother. There's much more. Stay tuned. And don't let liberal media pretend there's no "there" there, on this one.

Holy shitballs!

You know when I worked in a day treatment facility a psychotic break like this usually meant it was time to get out the tranq gun and start clearing away the furniture.

I can almost picture Palin stalking back and forth while she shouts at Piper in barely comprehensible partial sentences that this time they have Hillary right where they want her, and finally the voters will have no choice but to vote for her orange tinged Don Juan, with his stubby fingers and spider web hair.

'They dared to mock me, deride me, and call me a has been, well where is their laughter now? Because as God is my witness I'll never be a broken down has been again!"

Wanna bet?

As I wrote down below this is really only going to give the Republicans a few days to exaggerate this nothing burger and try to make something politically valuable out of it.

Already James Comey is in hot water for ignoring protocols and defying the advice of the DOJ in releasing this information, and news agencies are already finding that there is not only no smoking gun, but not even that much smoke.

Like everything around Clinton this initially always looks bad, but once you dive in, if I may borrow the Sarah Palin phrase that she borrowed from someone else, there is really no there there.

So by sometime next week this will no longer be a story, and by November 8th Hillary Clinton will be our next President.

However Sarah Palin will still be a broken down has been who everybody will continue to mock.

And those are the FACTS.

A deeper dive into the FBI's investigation into these "new" e-mails.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

This new evidence relates to how Abedin managed her emails. She maintained four email accounts—an unclassified State Department account, another on the clintonemail.com domain and a third on Yahoo. The fourth was linked to her husband’s account; she used it to support his activities when he was running for Congress, investigative records show.

Because Clinton preferred to read documents on paper rather than on a screen, emails and other files were often printed out and provided to her either at her office or home, where they were delivered in a diplomatic pouch by a security agent. Abedin, like many State Department officials, found the government network technology to be cumbersome, and she had great trouble printing documents there, investigative records show. As a result, she sometimes transferred emails from her unclassified State Department account to either her Yahoo account or her account on Clinton’s server, and printed the emails from there. It is not clear whether she ever transferred official emails to the account she used for her husband’s campaign.

Abedin would use this procedure for printing documents when she received emails she believed Clinton needed to see and when the Secretary forwarded emails to her for printing. Abedin told the FBI she would often print these emails without reading them. Abedin printed a large number of emails this way, in part because, investigative records show, other staff members considered her Clinton’s “gatekeeper” and often sent Abedin electronic communications they wanted the Secretary to see.

This procedure for printing documents, the government official says, appears to be how the newly discovered emails ended up on the laptop shared by Abedin and her husband. It is unclear whether any of those documents were downloaded onto the laptop off of her personal email accounts or were saved on an external storage device, such as a flash drive, and then transferred to the shared computer. There is also evidence that the laptop was used to send emails from Abedin to Clinton; however, none of those emails are the ones being examined by the FBI. Moreover, unless she was told by Abedin in every instance, Clinton could not have known what device her aide was using to transmit electronic information to her.

The article goes on to say that the only way there would be any criminal charges here is if there were proof that Abedin intended to disclose what was in classified documents, or purposefully mishandled classified documents, which is highly unlikely since she has already provided testimony to Congress about this same topic.

Besides if none of the documents are considered classified, which is the most likely scenario, then none of this even warrants an investigation at all.
Simply put, this is another nothing burger that Donald Trump and the Republicans get to exaggerate all out of proportion during the final days of a presidential campaign, with the added ingredient of Anthony Weiner to make it seem all the more unsavory.

Hillary Clinton's longtime personal assistant Huma Abedin is finally dumping her scumbag husband. Update!

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

In a statement to NBC, Huma Abedin announced she is planning to separate from her husband Anthony Weiner.

Anthony Weiner appears to have deleted his Twitter account amid new allegations that the former New York congressman has been sending lewd messages to an unknown woman over the past 19 months, the New York Post reports. The report is the latest in a series of sexting scandals involving Weiner, including one that brought down his 2013 campaign to become the mayor of New York City.

One of the photos allegedly sent by Weiner, the husband of Hillary Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin, includes their sleeping son.

So to the question of whether or not there are douchebags on the Left to match the douchebags on the Right, I give you exhibit A.
You know in full disclosure there was a time that I really liked Anthony Weiner but damn is he a POS!

And I really feel sorry for Huma.

Not only is the poor woman now under constant attack from the Right Wing, but she also has to put up with this shit.

And I shudder to imagine how the Right Wing and Donald Trump will use this to attack Hillary Clinton. Because you know they will.

Update: Well that didn't take long.

Courtesy of the New York Times

But Ms. Abedin’s separation quickly became political fodder for Donald J. Trump, Mrs. Clinton’s Republican opponent.

“Huma is making a very wise decision. I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him,” Mr. Trump said in a statement.

“I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information,” he continued. “Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”

And I imagine that is only the beginning.

I'm having a hard time seeing this Ted Cruz ad as anything but a parody.

Do you see what I'm saying?

If I did not know any better I would think it was one of those fake commercials that SNL creates for their show.

The punchline of course is at the end when the Hillary Clinton campaign supposedly has no idea how to run against Ted Cruz.

Please, if Ted Cruz were the candidate the only thing that might keep the Clinton campaign from squashing him like a bug in the first two or three days of his nomination is that they would be too busy laughing hysterically and high fiving each other.

By the way did anybody else find the actress playing the Huma Abedin character kind of hot?

Nope, that's just me again isn't it?

As a Democrat I cannot believe I am saying this but if you live in New York City Anthony Weiner does not deserve your vote. Update!

I watched this press conference yesterday in an actual rage. So much so that I yelled at my TV.

And the part that inspired my outburst was when Huma stepped up the microphone, and with a quivering voice told the people of New York that she had forgiven her husband, and that she supported his candidacy. At that point I started yelling, "Don't do that! Don't support that liar and try to cover for his inadequacies. You're better than that, and he does not deserve to have you humiliate yourself in order to help him get a job that he is unfit to hold."

Now let tell you why I was so upset.

During that press conference Weiner admitted that he continued sexting and sending pictures of his junk even AFTER he had been forced to resign for that very same behavior.

I work in the mental health community, and THAT is the sign of an exhibitionist with virtually NO impulse control, and one who receives a great deal of sexual gratification from having women see his penis. Furthermore there is every reason to believe that if he is not currently engaging in the same type of behavior, that he soon will be.

During the conference Huma revealed that they had attended therapy together to save their marriage, but there was NO indication that Weiner had received counseling for his sexual addiction. Therefore in my opinion there is simply NO way that he has put a stop to it on his own. At least not for long.

So no, Anthony Weiner should simply accept that his life as a politician is over and move on to the next phase. A phase which I absolutely do not believe can start until AFTER he receives some counseling for his compulsions.

I have a great deal of respect for Huma, but you think that this is the last time we will see her shamed by the antics of her husband then you are sorely mistaken, and she, and ALL women, deserve better than that.

Update: Such bad timing for this Harper's Bazaar article by Huma:

THE GOOD WIFE

So why am I doing this? Because Anthony has always been a smart, caring, and dedicated person, and while he’s the same public servant who wants what’s best for the people he represents, he is now something else—a better man. New Yorkers will have to decide for themselves whether or not to give him a second chance. I had to make that same decision for myself, for my son, for our family. And I know in my heart that I made the right one.

Well I have no idea if Huma's decision to stay with her husband is a good one or not,  but I certainly do not think that Weiner has demonstrated that he should be trusted by the people of New York.

MIchelle Bachmann is an idiot, and possibly a traitor to this country.

Courtesy of the New York Post:

Police and federal officials have placed security around ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, after a New Jersey man threatened her, law-enforcement sources said.

An individual, described as a Muslim man, made the unspecified threat after Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) last week claimed Abedin’s family had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and asked for a probe to see if she is helping the Islamist organization.

The man was questioned by the NYPD and the State Department and has not been charged, sources said.

The idea that a member of Congress would make such careless, and unfounded, charges against a member of the administration, which results in threats of violent against that person, should result in that member of Congress being impeached or charged with treason in my opinion.

Bachmann is a crazy person, but even THAT should not be used to defend these actions. And the people of Minnesota should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this horrible individual to represent their state.

Bachmann's insanity has gone on long enough and it is time for the people of Minnesota to take responsibility for their lack of judgement.
