Is everybody ready for another primary? No? Well too bad we're having one. Update!

On the docket this evening are three states, Kansas, Louisiana, and Nebraska, for the Democrats. And four, Kansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Maine, for the Republicans.

Fivethirtyeight is giving Hillary Clinton 99% odds that she will take Louisiana. However Sanders has a much stronger shot in both Kansas and Nebraska.

As for the Republicans well it looks like almost a clean sweep for Trump, except it appears that Cruz has captured Kansas due to his ties with the evangelicals.

I see the Trump supporters are ready for the primaries.

I think we will know more of the numbers in about an hour for the states that still have polls open and I will post them here as they come in.

Update: Bernie wins Kansas.

Update 2: Ted Cruise wins Maine. That's two more states for the booger-man.

Update 3: Bernie wins Nebraska. The only state left for the Dems is Louisiana.

Update 4: As predicted Hillary wins Louisiana.

Update 5:  Now it's been announced that Trump has won Louisiana.

Apparently the "War on Christmas" is kind of real in Nebraska, and the Atheists just won.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

In Lincoln, amid the supposed “ war on Christmas ” bemoaned each year by the political right, it appears the atheists really have stolen Christmas.

On Friday, a classic Christian nativity scene was erected in the rotunda of Nebraska’s capitol building. The state’s lieutenant governor, Mike Foley, was scheduled to attend.

But on 18 December the nativity will have to be moved, to make way for exhibits organised by a coalition of atheist and humanist groups who last summer booked up all available exhibition space in the rotunda for the week around Christmas Day.

From 19 to 26 December, therefore, the capitol will host an exhibition called Reason this Season, organized by Lincoln Atheists, Omaha Atheists and several other humanist associations.

“It’s going to be a big shindig,” Chris Clements of Lincoln Atheists told the Guardian. “Our message is that it’s a secular government and religion has to stay separate from that. And it’s meant to communicate that atheists are not bad people – we can be good without God.”

One of the main exhibits will be a table holding a miniature church, a miniature mosque and symbols from other religions including Judaism and Buddhism, separated from a miniature White House, Statue of Liberty and US Capitol by a model wall – a stark reminder of the separation of church and state that is enshrined in the first amendment to the constitution.

Man is this going to burn a lot of Fundamentalist asses in Nebraska.

You know typically I am not this publicly confrontational about Atheism, preferring instead to have discussions here on IM about religion and non-belief, but I have to admit that this made me chuckle.

Ultimately it is important that non-deists get the conversation out into the public so that there can be an open dialogue.

I imagine there will be a lot of shouting at first, but ultimately allowing people to see that Atheists are not goat horned, child eating, demons can really only help in the long run.

Nebraska becomes the 19th state to do away with the death penalty. And it is all due to an Atheist.

Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers.
Courtesy of Omaha.com:

Cheers erupted and tears fell Wednesday as the Nebraska Legislature took the historic step of repealing the death penalty with a politically high-stakes override of the governor’s veto.

Even as repeal supporters exchanged handshakes and hugs in the legislative chamber, a key defender of capital punishment vowed to keep the broader debate alive. Sen. Beau McCoy of Omaha announced plans to pursue a petition drive to put reinstatement of the death penalty on the ballot.

In the most suspenseful decision to play out in Nebraska’s one-house Legislature in years, lawmakers voted 30-19 to override Gov. Pete Ricketts’ veto of Legislative Bill 268. Without a vote to spare, the override replaced lethal injection with life in prison.

This is an especially impressive achievement since Nebraska is a red state.  And it is all thanks to one man.

The outcome elicited a nod and a grin from the typically stoic Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha, who has tried for four decades to repeal the death penalty. As the controversial senator walked through the glass doors leading into the Capitol Rotunda, he was feted with chants of “Ernie! Ernie! Ernie!”

Ernie Chambers has tried and failed to repeal the death penalty 37 times before. This time he was successful.

Also worth noting is that Ernie Chambers is the highest ranking, openly atheist elected official in the country.

Chambers has also introduced a bill to get churches to pay taxes, defended the rights of the LGBT community, and once claimed that the Mafia had higher standards than the Catholic church because if their members were raping children they would "off them."

So to be clear, an Atheist, who doesn't believe in a higher authority, worked diligently for years on a pro-life bill that was finally passed just this year.

And they say that non-believers lack a sense of morality.

(H/T to The Friendly Atheist.)

In a shocking turn of events a federal court has rejected a Nebraska woman's request to sue all of the gay people. And they call this a Christian nation!

Courtesy of The Blot Magazine:

A woman’s quest to have homosexuality legally defined as a “sin” has been rejected by a federal court in Nebraska.

In an order dismissing 66-year-old Sylvia Driskell’s civil lawsuit, federal judge John Gerrard found that the Auburn resident’s suggestion that homosexuality was against the teachings of God was not something the court could decide one way or another.

“The court may decide what is lawful, not what is sinful,” Gerrard wrote in his three-page order released on Wednesday. The judge said Driskell failed to comply with the court’s rules for pleading, including setting forth a demand for relief.

Driskell, who called herself an ambassador to God and Jesus Christ, filed a neatly handwritten seven-page application with the court last month. In it, Driskell sought to sue the entire gay population worldwide for committing what she claimed was a sin in defiance of the teachings of God. In her pleading, she cited several Biblical passages to support her arguments, many of which seemed to be largely in opposition to gay marriage.

As I wrote earlier I am still not sure why Christians feel the need to persecute gay people if they really believe that God is planning to charbroil them for their sins once they shuffle off this mortal coil.

However as an "Ambassador for God" you might think that they would at least hear this lunatic's case.

After all she might have a point. And not merely the one that her hair barely conceals from the public.

I think it's pretty obvious that this is yet another example of secular law overriding the Sharia law Christian law that many Americans believe should inform our legal decisions.

Besides, how much fun would it have been to watch this case unfold on all of the cable news channels?

But noooooo, some judge had to screw the whole thing up with "logic." Like that ever comes into play in our court system.

Nebraska woman files suit against all homosexuals. That's right, all of you!

Courtesy of NBC News:

A Nebraska woman identifying herself as the "ambassador" for plaintiffs "God and His Son, Jesus Christ," is suing all homosexuals on Earth for breaking "religious and moral laws," according to court records filed Tuesday.

In the suit, entered into the docket as Driskell v. Homosexuals, Sylvia Ann Driskell, 66, of Auburn, Nebraska, asks in a seven-page, neatly handwritten petition (PDF) that U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard decide once and for all whether homosexuality is or isn't a sin.

The suit doesn't cite any case law under which a judge could make such a determination. In fact, it cites no court cases at all, quoting Webster's Dictionary and numerous Bible verses, instead, to bolster Driskell's central contention, which is:

"That homosexuality is a sin and that they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in the closet."

Driskell writes, "I'm sixty six years old, an [sic] I never thought that I would see the day in which our Great Nation or Our Great State of Nebraska would become so compliant to the complicity of some peoples [sic] lewd behavior."

Yeah gay people, if you didn't think what you were doing was a sin why are you hiding in your closets?

Perfectly legitimate question.

For an idiot.

But then who am I to question an "Ambassador for God?"

Here is a portion of her seven page, handwritten lawsuit, courtesy of the Independent:

Entitled “Sylvia Ann Driskell vs Homosexuals”, the handwritten seven-page lawsuit filed on Tuesday bases the case on Bible passages and definitions from Webster’s Dictionary.

“I, Sylvia Ann Driskell, ambassador for the plaintiffs – God and His son, Jesus Christ – petition your honor and the court…to be heard in the matter of homosexuality,” it reads.

“Is homosexuality a sin or not a sin?”

The documents go on to use passages from Leviticus and Romans to contend that God punished homosexuality as an “abomination”.

Okay I have a small question.

If being one of "teh gays" is really a sin, then won't those participating in "teh gay" sex be punished by God?

Why does this lunatic, I'm sorry,  good Christian woman feel the need to take this to court?

In fact why does ANY Christian feel the need do ANYTHING to punish or marginalize the LGBT community if they really believe their lifestyle is sinful and that engaging in sin is what denies you access to the Pearly Gates? Why isn't that considered punishment enough?

So confusing.

Personally I hope this case actually goes to trial. I think it would be a hoot.

Speaking of Conservatives this was the most popular float in the Norfolk, Nebraska 4th of July parade.

Courtesy of Journal Star:

Parade committee member Rick Konopasek said the float wasn’t meant to be any more offensive than a political cartoon would be. The only restriction for entering a float is that it can’t be considered morally objectionable. That basically translates to a ban on nudity to sexually explicit messages, Konopasek said.

“We don’t feel its right to tell someone what they can and can’t express,” he said. “This was political satire. If we start saying no to certain floats, we might as well not have a parade at all.”

Konopasek and parade announcer Wally Sonnenschein said the outhouse float was the most popular one in the parade, and the three judges awarded it an honorable mention.

“It’s obvious the majority of the community liked it,” Konopasek said. “So should we deny the 95 percent of those that liked it their rights, just for the 5 percent of people who are upset?”

Look, another place I am never planning to visit.

Update: Oops sorry folks. I did originally think this was Virginia, but it's Nebraska.

I have fixed it now.

Nebraska Senate hopeful, and Sarah Palin endorsee, believes the only thing wrong with America is too many Atheists. Well of course he does.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Ben Sasse, who is widely expected to to win the seat being vacated by Sen. Mike Johanns in November, authored a dissertation — The Anti-Madalyn Majority: Secular Left, Religious Right, and the Rise of Reagan’s America — in which he argued that the modern conservative movement began not with “the Reagan Revolution,” but with two Supreme Court decisions in the early 1960s in which mandatory public school prayer and Bible reading were struck down as unconstitutional.

The first of them, Engel v. Vitale, inspired a Republican Congressman from New York, Frank Becker, to action. He was a true believer — a man who, according to Sasse, was a “tenacious focus derived less from a studied assessment of his audience than from his heartfelt conviction that the hope of America lay in its special relationship with the Almighty, and in the nation’s resolve to doggedly oppose the most formidable system of atheistic imperialism the world had ever known.”

Sasse identified Becker’s failed efforts to “oppose the most formidable system of atheistic imperialism the world had ever known” as the origin of a “bottom-up” rebellion against the “elites” — many of whom were Jewish — who wanted to remove religion from public life. He claimed that Nixon and his rhetoric of the “silent majority” spoke “effectively to and for the small-town values still prized by most of the country.”

“Indeed angst about secularization, more than any other complaint,” he wrote, “provided a lens through which Americans could see all other social problems as sharing a common root, a liberal root.” He claimed that these forces existed outside of conventional politics, a sentiment he echoes today on the campaign trail.

Great, another religious zealot who believes all the country needs is a little more Jesus.

This is exactly the kind of politician that this country cannot stand to have any more of in Washington.

Today might be the day for Sarah Palin to wipe a little egg off of her face.

Today is primary day in Nebraska, and Palin has placed her bet on two different races.

One of her picks is Ben Sasse, who polls show is ahead of the other GOP contenders by about 11 percentage points. Millions of dollars have been spent for advertising on his behalf, and he not only has Palin's almost worthless endorsement, he also has the far more important Ted Cruz endorsement.

In other words this could finally put some numbers up on the Sarah Palin scoreboard.

The other primary is for Governor of Nebraska. And once again Palin's pick, Pete Ricketts, is holding steady.

Ricketts has attracted quite a lot of big name support, from the likes of Scott Walker, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, and of course Ted Cruz.

However much, if not all of that support, is due to the fact that his father, Joe Ricketts, is one of the biggest Republican donors in the country.

Which means, of course, there is a chance Ricketts might emerge victorious as well.

So like I said this might be the day that Sarah Palin's losing streak comes to an end. Well at least temporarily.

I don't think that even if both of these men end up in the winners circle tonight, that it will significantly change the narrative about Palin's poisonous endorsements.

However you can bet the farm that Palin, and her supporters, will be trumpeting any victories as if she were the Nostradamus of politics.

Palin's political pimp-a-palooza keeps on chugging along.

Courtesy of Omaha.com:

Two Republican rock stars and a cast of backup singers brought their act to Nebraska Friday for U.S. Senate candidate Ben Sasse as the state’s GOP primary heads for a wild finale.

Tea Party favorites Sarah Palin, a former vice presidential candidate, and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas rallied a crowd of about 1,000 to support Sasse in the May 13 primary.

“What we need in the Senate are folks who are willing to not just go along to get along. We need the fighters,’’ Palin said. “That’s why I’m here for Ben Sasse. He is the right person for this job.’’

As it turned out Palin forgot to change her t-shirt from an earlier appearance with T.W. Shannon in Oklahoma. After all remembering to change clothes has never been a Palin strength.

Sasse said Palin — who wore a red light sweatshirt with a jeweled Nebraska “N’’ to the rally — arrived in North Platte on Thursday wearing Oklahoma Sooners shirt after campaigning in Tulsa. Sasse joked that he considered postponing the event to investigate her character.

Sasse said Cruz was supposed to wear a Husker shirt, too, “but he didn’t keep his word.’’ At that, Cruz flashed a Texas “Hook ‘em, Horns’’ hand sign to boos and laughter from the crowd.

Apparently Sasse does not understand that if somebody doesn't dress Palin that she just continues wearing the same clothes day after day, even if they possibly send the wrong message during a political rally.

I mean change the wig, sure. But the clothes? Well that's a lot of extra work.

Wow! Two different rallies in one day, and both with Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz.

It looks like Palin is really making an effort this time to appear to give a shit about resurrecting her conservative political bona fides.

I wonder if she will remember to change clothes for the next one?

P.S. Speaking of Palin's wigs, this time her appearance cannot be blamed on Willow, as this lady claims to be the one "honored" to do the wig wrassling.

Really don't think I would be bragging about that if I were her.

Disrespectful asshole.

As you can imagine this ad has inspired quite a lot of criticism:

"Beau McCoy hit a new low," Democratic executive director Dan Marvin said, demanding that the Omaha state senator take down his ad.

"No matter what party you belong to, the depiction of violence displayed in McCoy's ad is completely disrespectful to the office of the presidency and sends the wrong message to our children."

The new ad, in which McCoy expresses his opposition to the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, and particularly to its proposed expansion of Medicaid coverage in Nebraska, stirred some critical traffic on Twitter throughout the day.

Responding to Democratic objections, McCoy said Nebraskans are "tired of being pushed around by the Obama administration and the federal government."

"We as Nebraskans know a one-size-fits-all mandate like Obamacare is the wrong approach for our state, which is why I led the charge this legislative session to oppose Medicaid expansion in Nebraska," McCoy said in a written statement.

Well I guess when people in Nebraska are dying because there was no Medicaid expansion in their state they will know exactly who to blame.

Maybe one of their surviving family members would like the opportunity to backhand Mr. McCoy much like he did to that President Obama doll.

I know I certainly would.

After the debut of her new show non-political show, brought to you by the makers of green screen, Sarah Palin returns to what she knows best, endorsing loser candidates and bitching about liberals.

Yesterday on Facebook Palin endorsed Pete Ricketts and had her ghostwriter write up a post just chock full of cookie cutter conservative jargon and anti-liberal vitriol.

Here is a taste:

While Pete’s opponents in this race have made a career for themselves as politicians, bureaucrats, or lobbyists, Pete spent his career in the private sector helping grow his family’s successful business from the bottom up. I believe in teaching kids to never fear success and in fact to look to those who’ve ethically earned their success and emulate their work ethic!

Yeah I have no idea what all of that blabber meant, but it is interesting to note that Ricketts actually TRIED to be one of those career politicians that Palin vilified up above back in 2006, when he ran against Democrat Ben Nelson for his Senate seat.

He failed in that endeavor, after spending over eleven million dollars of his own money, and so he is back and newly reborn as a Tea Party conservative.

While giving Ricketts his political reach around Palin also decided to go on the attack against the evil liberals.

The alternative is woeful dependency on an inevitable sinking ship I call “Liberal Lunacy.”

Yes of course, WE are the lunatics.

The rest of the post is overflowing with the usual hackneyed Palin-aprops. Such as "common sense conservative," "fearless patriot," and of course, "servant's heart."

Palin also warns about the "recycled old discredited attacks" which I believe refers to this one about his position on amnesty leveled at him by Charlie Janssen, who is running for the same nomination.

Palin goes onto say this:

Pete has the business acumen, the moral integrity, and the conservative common sense to lead Nebraska into a prosperous future.

The problem is that she is describing the wrong Ricketts family member. In fact it is his father who seems to have the business acumen, as evidenced by the fact that it he who owns TDAmeritrade, the company for whom his son Pete serves as the CEO.

In fact it appears that the father, Joe Ricketts, is the REAL political heavyweight.

It was the senior Ricketts who started the super PAC "Taxpayers Against Earmarks," now known as "Ending Spending," and who spent 10 million dollars of his own money attempting to prove that President Obama was a leftist radical who was heavily influenced by the Reverend Wright.

This from May 2012, in the New York Times:

“The world is about to see Jeremiah Wright and understand his influence on Barack Obama for the first time in a big, attention-arresting way,” says the proposal, which was overseen by Fred Davis and commissioned by Joe Ricketts, the founder of the brokerage firm TD Ameritrade. Mr. Ricketts is increasingly putting his fortune to work in conservative politics.

Oh yeah, this explains why Palin is so enthusiastic about the son.

Palin at Friday morning Ricketts fundraiser.
These are her kind of people. Completely out of their fucking minds!

Sarah Palin throws her support behind swine mutilator Joni Ernst. Slap yourself if you did not see this one coming.

Courtesy of the Testicle Fetishist's Facebook page:

JONI ERNST FOR U.S. SENATE FROM IOWA

If Nebraska’s Deb Fischer can see through the bull in Washington, then Iowa’s Joni Ernst can help her cut through the pork. Growing up on a hog farm in Southwest Iowa, Joni has taken her “pork cutting” skills to the Iowa State Senate where she has been a champion for life, small government, and lower taxes – voting for the largest tax cut in Iowa history. In Washington, she has pledged to defund Obamacare, limit the size of government, and protect life. As a concealed weapon license holder, she will fight to defend our Second Amendment rights – the NRA has given her an “A” rating.

Joni is a veteran of the Iraq war and continues her service as a Lt. Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard. She’s been a fighter for freedom both in and out of uniform. Iowa – come together and send this Midwest Mama Grizzly roaring to Washington on her Harley so she can join with the good guys to get our country back on track!

-Sarah Palin

To be fair once this woman started talking about cutting off pig balls how could Palin resist?

I mean Ernst has everything that tickles Palin's dust encrusted nether regions. A military connection, a gun fetish, and an unsavory fixation on the male appendage.

I can see Palin and Ernst bonding over Red Bull martini's with a side of meth now. Ernst would discuss in gory detail how she chopped pig nuts off with a rusty meat cleaver and Palin would offer to show her Todd's shriveled up gonads that she carries in her purse.

Sarah Palin curses another campaign with her endorsement.

This from Princess Political Pundit's Facebook page:

Ben Sasse is the clear conservative choice in the Nebraska Senate race. National Review calls him “Nebraska’s Obamacare Nemesis.”

Of course that is not the ONLY reason that Palin likes this particular candidate:

Ben is a leader we need in D.C. now. He won’t forget who sent him there because his life is firmly grounded in his small town Nebraska roots. His family goes to a church where his great-great grandpa carved the altarpiece that is still there today. Ben has his cornhusker common sense and his lovely wife Melissa and their three kids to remind him of what’s important. Melissa is a fellow “hockey mom” to both of Ben’s daughters who play hockey as the only girls on the boy teams. They’ll be able to remind their papa to “Fight like a girl!” in defense of We the People.

Yep he goes to church, has common sense, and his wife is a fellow "hockey mom" (Though one hopefully more involved than Palin turned out to be.), so of course Sarah Palin will endorse him.

According to The Hill Sasse is one of two front runners in a field of four Republicans competing to win the primary for the Senate seat left open by the retiring Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb).

Since Nebraska is a deeply red state having a Republican hold onto the Senate seat is not exactly earth shattering. However if Sasse wins it will be touted as a victory for those opposed to Obamacare, and will give critics of the Affordable Care Act new false hope that they can repeal the law.

Of course that will never happen, and already there is bipartisan support to improve the law rather than repeal the law.

So essentially, if elected, Sasse will arrive in Washington as a saboteur and will do his part to obstruct and cripple any progress.

Yet another reason that Sarah Palin, who has time and time again demonstrated that she is a traitor to this country, would want to endorse this man.

Openly atheist lawmaker in Nebraska introduces bill that he says honors Jesus by asking churches and religious organizations to pay their taxes.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

An atheist lawmaker has proposed legislation in Nebraska that would essentially tax churches and other religious organizations.

Ernie Chambers, who may be the highest-ranking openly atheist politician in the country, introduced a bill that would eliminate a state property tax exemption for those organizations.

Chambers, an independent, submitted the bill, LB675, as simply a copy of the existing statute with the word “religious” crossed out at each mention among groups that are currently exempt from property taxes.

The lawmaker, who is the longest-serving senator in Nebraska history, suggested the measure to generate more revenue and reduce local government reliance on state funding.

“Religious people say they want to carry out the directives of Jesus who said, ‘Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s,’ when he was asked whether taxes should be paid to Caesar. In short: ‘PAY YOUR TAXES,’” Chambers wrote in the bill’s statement of intent. “This bill simply carries out what Jesus wanted to see his followers do, and they certainly want to see the Scriptures fulfilled.”

Sounds fair to me.

And since we are on the subject of honoring the wishes of Jesus perhaps these churches might want to remember Matthew 6:6:

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

In other words gathering in a building to pray together, is exactly what Jesus did NOT want people to do.

You know I am never going to be comfortable with religion, but it would do much to improve my relationship with them if they would start to act as if they have read, and actually understand, the teachings of the man they claim to love and respect.

Rachel Maddow reports on the devastating consequences of parental consent regulations for one pregnant sixteen year old foster child in Nebraska.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Too young to be trusted with the decision to terminate her pregnancy, but not too young to give birth and raise a child. That is some fascinating logic there Nebraska.

Of course the Fundies will helpfully suggest that this young woman simply carry the child to term and then give it up for adoption, thereby reducing her to breeding stock and providing yet another poor innocent mind for the religious zealots to mold and manipulate.

Nebraska Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy resigns after being caught chatting up the ladies on his state issued cell phone.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

Nebraska Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy resigned Saturday after “breaking the public trust,” Gov. Dave Heineman said.

Heineman announced Sheehy’s resignation in a hastily called news conference Saturday morning. Heineman said the resignation followed disclosures made in a public records request, but declined to discuss what those disclosures were.

“As public officials, we are rightly held to a higher standard,” Heineman said. “I had trusted him, and that trust was broken.”

Sheehy resigned after questions were raised about improper cellphone calls to four women, none of which were his wife, during the past four years. The story was first reported by the Omaha World-Herald.

Records released Saturday by the governor’s office show Sheehy made thousands of late-night phone calls to the women on his state-issued cellphone. Sheehy made some of the calls numerous times a day, with the conversations lasting anywhere from a few minutes to more than an hour, according to the records.

One woman he frequently called, Dr. Theresa Hatcher of Bellevue, told The Associated Press that she and Sheehy had maintained a long-term relationship after they met during a meeting of emergency responders Texas in 2008. Sheehy leads the state’s emergency management efforts, and Hatcher is an emergency room doctor.

“I thought I was the only one,” she said. “Apparently, I was grossly mistaken.”

She added: “Politicians can lie. Doctors don’t lie.”

Hatcher said she last talked to Sheehy about two weeks ago.

Is it wrong that I am really not at all scandalized by this?

I mean this is a conservative Republican who was caught flirting with several women, and NO young boys. To me that is about as moral as I expect any of these people to be.

I guess now we know why his wife filed for divorce last July, now don't we?

Crazy woman in Nebraska explains why passing a pro-LGBT ordinance is a bad thing.

You kind of have to listen carefully because this lady changes topics so fast she could give your brain whiplash. And be warned, there is a whole LOTTA crazy in this video.

"P- E- N- I- S goes into the anus to rupture intestines. The more a man does this the more he'll be a fatality or a homicider..."

"A huge percent of gay men in school grounds molest boys, partly because they don't have AIDS yet..."

"Hillary Clinton's roommate four years in college was a gay woman. To avoid going gay like Clinton did, college students need single rooms and single gender dorms... A college woman is seduced with illegal Rohypnol to go gay."

"Jesus was kissed by Judas, a homo, who tried to sabotage Jesus' kind ideas. Do you choose Jesus, a celibate, or Judas, a homo? You have to choose!"

I absolutely LOVE the guy with the glasses in the back who looks like he is about to lose his mind listening to this lunatic's rantings.

I have to admit I learned a lot from this lady, such as that Hillary Clinton was turned gay by her gay roommate, that butt sex ruptures intestines, Judas was a homo, and that the gayness of the Roman Senators resulted in Christians being thrown to the lions.

No wonder Christians hate "teh gay!"

In all seriousness this lady may be out of her fucking mind (Gee, ya think?), but she is still an unfortunate representation of the kind of looney thinking that runs rampant through the minds of many homophobic people.

When she talks about homosexuality being a choice, gays molesting children, and homosexuality being contagious, she is speaking for a larger group of people than I think many of us are comfortable admitting exist in this country. And THIS is the mindset that is behind many of the anti-gay rights ordinances being passed these days.

To learn more about this ordinance in Nebraska click here.  To learn more about the crazy lady, click here.

And remember to watch out for the "Orgiers!" They's bad!

Did something just bubble up from the depths of Lake Lucille?

"Oh my God, Todd! Somebody is asking for my endorsement! Quick get the crayons!"
After an eery silence from the Lunatic from Lake Lucille, that is almost two weeks old now, there is news of an endorsement which has surfaced from not one, but two Palins. (Though whether Todd even knows he endorsed this person is open to speculation.)

Today, Senator Deb Fischer, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska, announced that she has been endorsed by former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of Governor Sarah Palin and Todd Palin. I greatly admire their willingness to stand on conservative principle and their resolve in standing up to the political establishment,” said Senator Deb Fischer.

"Incredibly honored?" Has this person ever MET the Palins?

No she has not. However she is apparently a starry eyed fan. And the evidence to support that fact is that Fischer actually SOUGHT the endorsement of Sarah Palin.

I am writing to you as both a fan of your strong, conservative principles and as a fellow female Republican. I have watched your career with respect as you take on tough issues, all while raising a family and serving your great state. Your career has inspired me and so many other female politicians who believe principles should be above politics.

Hmm, it looks like SOMEBODY has been watching "The Undefeated" over and over again, and believing that it somehow has something to do with reality. Either that or she didn't receive the memo stating that Palin's political endorsement is not worth the Post-it note it is scrawled on.

Here is Palin's actual endorsement:

Deb – thank you for your note. We have been watching your race closely. Your efforts remind us of those our family put forth for Sarah’s races here in Alaska. Winning over voters through personal interactions is the way to go.

People are tired of outside interests spending millions of dollars in political attack ads. We’re glad to see your grassroots efforts paying off! We admire your conservative principles and know that you will not go to Washington to amass great wealth or power. You will go to Washington to serve the people of Nebraska, protect our Constitution and work for common sense solutions to help restore America. We are happy to support you and have asked SarahPAC to send a financial contribution to your campaign.

Good luck next Tuesday – the Palins are in your corner.

- Todd & Sarah

Palin endorsed Fischer AND promised her SarahPAC money? Fischer is doomed.

Oh don't get me wrong, she might just win the Republican primary (After all this IS Nebraska!), but trust me, she's doomed.
