Courtesy of Vox:
Sunday with Lubach, which is sort of like the Dutch version of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, looked at guns — specifically, the US’s love of firearms. And it’s very telling.
For one, the satirical Dutch video describes America’s love of guns as so bad that it is an illness: Nonsensical Rifle Addiction, or NRA — a reference to the biggest gun lobby group in the country.
“Dear fellow Europeans,” the video’s narrator begins, “a devastating humanitarian crisis is threatening a small country on the coast of North America: the United States of America.”
The video goes on to list some of the statistics related to America’s gun homicides and accidents from Gun Violence Archive: 24,000 injuries and 11,000 deaths so far this year, culminating to roughly 40 deaths a day. The video pins this on “a terrible epidemic.”
“NRA is a constitutional disorder caused by a dysfunction of the prefrontal Second Amendment in the nonsensical cortex, causing patients to shoot people,” the narrator explains. “It starts with an innocent Colt, but soon patients will show signs of shotguns, sniper rifles, and M16s even. Often, patients use silencers to hide their condition.”
This is certainly not the first time that Americans have been mocked for our ridiculous obsession with guns, but it is one of the more creative attempts.
The take away for us is the realization that the whole world sees our problem, as well as its solution, but we remain incapable of doing anything about it.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Donald Trump is even being mocked at the Olympics.

The Netherlands First - Second and Thirth!! #Olympics #Iceskating pic.twitter.com/KqUbBB3jE5
President Donald Trump pushed, clawed, and bullied his way into office on an “America First” platform. At first listen that sounds okay—“yeah, America is great, we should take of ourselves.” But it’s really just a more euphemistic way of saying “Make America Great Again,” of which the second, unstated part is, “at the expense of everyone else.”
There was bound to be some razzing of Trump by other countries on the world stage, and it finally happened yesterday, after the women’s 3,000-meter speed skating. The Netherlands completely dominated—Dutch athletes took first, second, and third in the event, making for a full sweep and 100 percent Dutch representation on the medals podium.
That’s when two women in the stands unfurled the flag of the Netherlands—red, white, and blue like the American flag, but all striped—with a message written on it.
Can't really blame them.
I mean is there anybody on the planet more mock-able than Donald Trump?
And good for the Dutch!
Taking first, second, and third in any Olympic event is a huge accomplishment.

Dutch intelligence services were the first to discover Russian hacking of DNC, and even hacked them back, but now are wary of sharing information with America. Guess why.
![]() |
Hey, have I warned you about the Dutch yet? |
In the Summer of 2015, Dutch intelligence services were the first to alert their American counterparts about the cyberintrusion of the Democratic National Committee by Cozy Bear, a hacking group believed to be tied to the Russian government. Intelligence hackers from Dutch AIVD (General Intelligence and Security Service) had penetrated the Cozy Bear computer servers as well as a security camera at the entrance of their working space, located in a university building adjacent to the Red Square in Moscow.
Over the course of a few months, they saw how the Russians penetrated several U.S. institutions, including the State Department, the White House, and the DNC. On all these occasions, the Dutch alerted the U.S. intelligence services, Dutch tv programme Nieuwsuur and de Volkskrant, a prominent newspaper in The Netherlands, jointly report on Thursday. This account is based on interviews with a dozen political, diplomatic and intelligence sources in The Netherlands and the U.S. with direct knowledge of the matter. None of them wanted to speak on the record, given the classified details of the matter.
Not only had Dutch intelligence penetrated the computer network of the hackers, they also managed to hack a security camera in the corridor. This allowed them to see exactly who entered the hacking room. Information about these individuals was shared with the US intelligence services. Dutch intelligence services consider Cozy Bear an extension of the SVR, the Russian foreign intelligence service, which is firmly controlled by President Putin.
The information the Dutch gathered ended up in the hands of Robert Mueller, so that is even more information that he has to work with.
Earlier reports only identified help from a "Western ally" but now the Dutch have come out to identify themselves as that ally.
But they also tell us this:
Last Sunday on Dutch television programme College Tour, Rob Bertholee, head of AIVD, said that he had no doubt that the Kremlin was directly responsible for the Russian cyber campaign against U.S. government agencies. Bertholee as well as Pieter Bindt, who was heading MIVD at the time, personally discussed the DNC matter with James Clapper, at the time overall head of the US intelligence services, and Michael Rogers, who is soon to retire as the head of the NSA.
As of now, the AIVD hackers do not seem to have access to Cozy Bear any longer. Sources suggest that the openness of US intelligence sources, who in 2017 praised the help of a Western ally in news stories, may have ruined their operation. The openness caused great anger in The Hague and Zoetermeer. In the television programme College Tour, this month, AIVD director Bertholee stated that he is extra careful when it comes to sharing intelligence with the U.S., now that Donald Trump is President.
This clearly suggests that the American intelligence agencies under Donald Trump were careless in revealing that the Dutch were involved, which led to their operation losing access to those Russian hackers, and has convinced our "western allies" that they can no longer trust the leader of our country with sensitive information.
It essentially implies that Trump is an agent for the Kremlin.

Dutch documentary reveals the connections between Donald Trump and Russian mobsters.
Courtesy of Alternet:
Donald Trump's business partners have included Russian oligarchs and convicted mobsters, which could make the president guilty of criminal racketeering charges.
That's one of the eyebrow-raising takeaways from a 45-minute Dutch documentary that aired last week, titled The Dubious Friends of Donald Trump, Part 1: The Russians. The first installment of the investigative reporting series, produced by Zembla, does what no American TV network has yet dared to do—take a deep look at the organized crime links and corrupt international business strategies used by Trump and his partners in his properties.
It starts with Trump's luxury tower in the lower Manhattan neighborhood of Soho, where his partner in building that highrise was Bayrock LLC, whose primary investor was a Russian mining oligarch and another major investor was a convicted Russian mobster named Felix Sater.
"Why did 60 Minutes pass on the Bayrock story in 2016? Why did ABC News' Brian Ross pass on the Trump Soho [Tower] story in 2015? Why has no major network done any kind of documentary on what the Dutch just did?" asks James Henry, a corporate lawyer-turned-financial investigative reporter who writes for DCReport.org. Henry is one of several investigative reporters whose work on Trump's shady business empire is profiled in the film.
The documentary shows how Trump not only helped hide the identity of his mobster business partner, prompting an ongoing lawsuit accusing Trump of criminal racketeering, but also how Trump used that internal company crisis to demand more money. It goes on to show how Russian oligarchs saw Trump's properties as a way to get their money out of Russia, and describes the international financial networks that are akin to a pyramid scheme for money laundering. It also notes how the law firm of Trump's political adviser, former New York City mayor Rudy Guiliani, helped set up a money-laundering account in the Netherlands used by Bayrock.
If you are wondering if this has anything to do with that investigation into Russian money laundering that got shut down recently, well duh.
This is the kind of information that they are desperately trying to hide, and that is why it needs to be spread far and wide.

That awkward moment when you condemn passages from the Quran, that are actually from the Bible.
Courtesy of The Friendly Atheist:
A lot of conservative Christians like to argue, as do atheists, that the Qur’an is full of barbarism and misogyny. Unlike the atheists, though, they forget that their own Bible is also full of horrific verses.
So the Dutch pranksters at Dit Is Normaal ran an experiment. They bought a Bible, but changed the cover to say it’s the Qur’an. Then they asked people to read passages and give their thoughts.
You know as far as pranks go, that was fairly brilliant.
And of course that is the point that Atheists make over and over again.
These books are FILLED with hateful, violent, misogynistic garbage like that and if you do not live in a relatively progressive society, and instead one that bases its laws and guidelines on the holy book, you are essentially surrounded by barbarism.

Keith Olbermann easily discredits Palin's ridiculous statements about the oil leak and President Obama. Kind of like shooting fish in a Fox News barrel.
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
And if Keith did not drive home the point that Palin is an idiot well enough here is a link to a news story from May 28 which reports the following:
At the request of U.S. authorities, the Dutch Minister of Transport, Camiel Eurlings, has offered three sets of sweeping arms (6 arms in total) and auxiliary equipment to be used to collect oil spilled from the Deepwater Horizon incident, in the Gulf of Mexico.
So much for the "with the proverbial can't even get a phone call back" statement of Miss Quitty pants.
I know Keith already said it, but might I just add? "That woman is an idiot!"
