Sarah Palin brags about Breitbart giving her a platform after the Gabby Giffords shooting when Roger Ailes tried to keep her from embarrassing herself.

Still  from Sarah Palin's "Blood Libel" video.
Unfortunately I have to link to Breitbart in order to share this story.

I of course do not encourage you to click the link, but it is only good blogging etiquette to provide it.

Courtesy of Breitbart:

The late Andrew Breitbart helped Sarah Palin defend herself when Fox News Channel’s former Chairman Roger Ailes denied her the opportunity to respond on air to the media’s false accusations framing her for inciting the attempted assassination of former Congresswoman Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords (D-AZ) in the days immediately following the 2011 Tucson mass shooting incident.

“If it weren’t for Breitbart, so much of our commonsense defense wouldn’t have gotten out there, because I was working for Fox News at the time, and I was not allowed to go on the air to defend myself for days,” Palin said, speaking publicly about this for the first time, during a Friday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with Breitbart’s Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour.

(That's right, Palin and RAM together again.)

“I think that that time was our toughest time in this last decade of being out there on a public platform, [with] false accusations that we were to blame for the Gabby Giffords shooting,” said Palin. “If it weren’t for Breitbart, so much of our commonsense defense wouldn’t have gotten out there, because I was working for Fox News at the time, and I was not allowed to go on the air to defend myself for days, and finally I bucked management of Fox News—I never even talked about this publicly—I bucked management and said, ‘I’ll do my own video, and I’ll post it, and I’ll explain to people that, no, we are not to blame.’ My relationship with Fox was never the same after that.”

Palin noted Ailes’ repeated refusal to allow her a platform to defend herself from a barrage of media attacks falsely accusing her of inciting mass murder.

“I had asked [Roger Ailes], ‘How many days do we have to go listening to this with no defense articulated at all? May I please go on the air?’ And he wouldn’t let me,” said Palin. “So that was a tough time.”

Ailes, for his part, was simply trying to protect his on air talent from embarrassing herself and attracting national ridicule, since at that time she was still considered a draw for Fox News.

Of course Palin defied Ailes, made her now famous "Blood Libel" video, and attracted far more scorn and ridicule than any amount of silence on her part would ever have brought down on her.

Which apparently she STILL does not realize.

Palin went on to make it even worse:

“[I wish] people understood what it does to a family, how it potentially could rip apart a family because everybody has a different idea of how to react to the circumstances around you, and that causes some stress,” said Palin. “I thank God every day that I have a strong family, and we’re doing great. Hopefully our story could inspire people to know that whatever they’re facing, the sun will come out tomorrow and things can get better. It’s just a matter of how you react to sometimes horrible circumstances around you.”

That's right folks the sun WILL come out tomorrow, and then if you have a "strong family" like the Palins by tomorrow evening your son might break into your house and beat your husband half to death, or y'all might show up drunk to a party and end up fighting with just about everybody until the police arrive, or you could once again wind up in court trying to help your daughter attempt to take custody away from another one her baby daddies.

Apparently in Palin's world that's what constitutes "doing great."

Only a day after the anniversary of the Tucson shooting, true to form, Sarah Palin plays the victim while using one of her children as a shield against criticism. Update!

Courtesy of Lunatic from Lake Lucille's Facebook page:

Ben Shapiro has a great new book out called “Bullies: How The Left’s Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences America.” Ben’s premise about the left’s silencing tactics is absolutely correct. Obviously I’ve witnessed the left’s bullying behavior up close and personal when it’s been directed at those so close to me. And, of course, I’ve seen how nasty it can be for other conservatives as well. You know, there’s something especially ugly about the way the left goes after children of conservatives. I still find it highly ironic that the supposedly “tolerant” left has done nothing but bully, demonize, and judge my daughter Bristol for making the right decision to keep her baby and work so very hard as a single mom to care and provide for him. I don’t know of any conservative “war on women,” but I sure have seen the left’s war on conservative women!

Please read Ben’s book and consider his advice about how we must stand up and push back twice as hard against this bullying. We must not allow ourselves to be frightened into silence. Yes, it’s hard to “keep on keeping on” when being pushed around – but like Ronald Reagan said: when we stiffen our spines, those around us can stiffen theirs, too! Press in, press on. Don’t retreat, friends!

 - Sarah Palin

First off I have to say that the VERY idea that Sarah Palin, a well established bully in Wasilla and on the media, would use her equally vicious daughter to play the victim of similar behaviors is a level of hypocrisy that is almost jaw dropping.

And then to identify the Left as the bullies in this hyper politicized world we now live in is the ultimate hypocrisy saturated cherry on top of her batshit crazy fudge sundae.

The idea that the Left in this country could even COMPETE with the conservatives in this arena would be laughable if their tactics had not proven to be so harmful to our citizens.

After all which side of the ideological aisle outed the CIA wife of one of their critics in order to punish them for revealing that the war they were dragging the country toward was based on lies?

Which party came up with a color coded system to keep Americans frightened while sending its young people off to die in unnecessary wars?

Which fringe part of that same party now holds their politicians hostage to an untenable conservative anti-tax litmus test with threats of a primary challenge if they refuse to play ball with them?

Bullying? The liberals are light years behind the conservatives when it comes to intimidation techniques and Middle school name calling.

Of course equally disgusting is that the Grizzled Mama put this post out yesterday only the day AFTER the Tucson massacre, where thirteen people were shot and six died, and after which Sarah Palin came out in a video playing (You guessed it!) the victim and claiming there was a "blood libel" against her.

After over a week of silence apparently Palin could not let this terrible anniversary pass without reminding people that the true victims in this country are she and her family.

Of course it is probably anti-climatic at this point to reveal that the author of this book, which Palin is so effusively pimping was written by a Breitbart "news" editor Ben Shapiro. (He also wrote such delightfully non-partisan books as "Brainwashed: How Universities Indoctrinate America's Youth" and "Porn Generation: How Social Liberalism Is Corrupting Our Future.")

You remember the founder of Breitbart News, Andrew Breitbart, don't you?

And if you do of course you know he was an EXPERT on bullying tactics. So who better, than one of his editors, to write a slanted book on bullying in politics that unfairly vilifies the Left, and who better, than the queen of conservative hypocrisy, to endorse that book?

P.S. You know I almost missed this cry for attention from Klondike Kardashian, you would think she would want to get on television to hawk this book and get her rapidly dwindling fan base talking about her again. Oh wait......

Update: Okay well this just took a turn for the surreal.

Here is a clip of Ben Shapiro, the guy whose book Palin is pretending to hawk while of course using her daughter to play the victim, identifying Palin supporters as bullies who will aggressively go after ANYBODY who dares to criticize her or suggest she is not running for president.

Oh this is TOO good!

Palin may have gone too far and bitten a big chunk out of the Fox News hand that feeds her.

Before Sarah Palin posted her infamous “Blood Libel” video on Facebook on January 12, she placed a call to Fox News chairman Roger Ailes. In the wake of the Tucson massacre, Palin was fuming that the media was blaming her heated rhetoric for the actions of a madman that left six people dead and thirteen others injured, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Palin told Ailes she wanted to respond, according to a person with knowledge of the call. It wasn’t fair the media was making this about her. Ailes told Palin that she should stay quiet.

“Lie low,” he said. “There’s no need to inject yourself into the story.”

Palin told Ailes that other people had given her that same advice. Her lawyer Bob Barnett is said to have cautioned her about getting involved. The consensus in some corners of Palin's camp was that she faced considerable risks if she spoke out.

But, this being Sarah Palin, she did it anyway.

To read how Ailes felt about that, and to get the rest of the story, please visit  New York Magazine:

I have suspected for some time that Palin would eventually do something so self destructive, or so embarrassing to Fox news, that they would have no choice but to terminate their dealings with her.  I know that bar is set pretty high considering the crap that Glenn Beck does on his show day in and day out, and the kind of ridicule it attracts to Fox News, but never underestimate Palin's ability to fuck up a good thing.

However I kind of agree with the author of this article that right now the Grizzled Mama is undoubtedly on double secret probation, and that they are biding their time until she finally throws her hat in the Presidential ring so that they can, at least temporarily, wash their hands of her. That is, of course, until her campaign inevitably self destructs.

But don't believe for an instant she won't be back.  Because she will.  Where else will she have to go?

Of course THIS time she may find herself relegated to playing the ditsy one on the couch feeding straight lines to Steve Doocy on Fox and Friends.

Shushanna Walshe shows her true sycophantic colors by quickly providing cover for Sarah Palin after her "Blood Libel" comment yesterday.

Yesterday there was a rather huge backlash against Sarah Palin for her indefensible anti-Semitic remarks during her "Dammit stop blaming me for the shootings!" video.

This went on with Palin being raked over the coals for her insensitive and extraordinarily painful remarks by media outlets all over the world and with almost no one, even Fox News feeling comfortable enough to take her side.

But then toward the evening Shushannah Walshe rides to Queen Esther's defense.

From the Daily Beast:

Sarah Palin’s most dedicated Jewish supporters are sticking by the former Alaska governor after her comments Wednesday castigating journalists for committing what she called “blood libel.”

“The use of the term blood libel is appropriate,” said Benyamin Korn, director of Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin, which runs JewsForSarah.com. Korn, a longtime Jewish journalist and activist, says his group has several hundred members. The website got off the ground in April 2010.

Because of this history, the ADL, among other Jewish groups, criticized Palin. Said its leader Abe Foxman, “[W]e wish that Palin had not invoked the phrase “blood-libel” in reference to the actions of journalists and pundits in placing blame for the shooting in Tucson on others.”

“There’s been issues raised about how can it be a blood libel if it didn’t lead to bloodshed against her because blood libel led to bloodshed against Jews. That’s not always true,” Korn said. “I would not have advised her against [using] it if anyone would have asked me. I think it is appropriate. They accused her of inciting bloodshed. Now this is preposterous.”

Korn added that opponents of Palin are “leaping for ‘gotcha’ material against her.” Palin has long spoken about her support of Israel and her love of the Jewish people. She went so far as to hang an Israeli flag in her Anchorage office when she was the governor.
Yep, there it is.

Palin has made a number of public efforts to reach out to Jewish Americans. Back in September, she sent greetings through her Facebook page during the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. She even dropped a little Hebrew on her fans. For Palin, embracing America’s Jews is part of her message of strong American support for Israel. As she wrote, “To our Jewish friends and neighbors on this Rosh Hashanah, may you be inscribed in the Book of Life. And for our friends in Israel, know that the American people will continue to stand with you in this New Year as you strive for peace and security.”

So you there you have it.  According to Ms. Walshe's reporting Sarah made a simple verbal misstep but other than that she is totally down with her Jewish brothers and sisters.

Bullshit!

This from an article, dated January 2010, called "Why Jews hate Palin" by Jennifer Rubin:

While Palin enjoys support from some prominent Jewish conservatives, it is not an exaggeration to say that, more so than any other major political figure in recent memory (with the possible exception of Patrick J. Buchanan), she rubs Jews the wrong way. In a September 2008 poll by the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Jews disapproved of Palin as the pick for McCain’s vice-presidential running mate by a 54 to 37 percent margin. (By contrast, 73 percent approved of the selection of Joseph Biden as Obama’s.) Ask an average American Jew about Palin and you are likely to get a nonverbal response—a shiver, a shudder, a roll of the eyes, or a guffaw. Naomi Wolf, the feminist writer, sputtered that Palin was the “FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal,” articulating the mixture of contempt and fear that seemed to grip many Jewish women. The disdain is palpable and largely emotional. While 78 percent of American Jews voted for the Obama-Biden ticket, it is fair to say that most did not harbor animosity toward or contempt for Senator John McCain; the same cannot be said of their view of Palin.

And Palin's anti-Semitic attitude reaches even as far back to her days running for Mayor of Wasilla, when she used the Jew-y sounding last name of her opponent to not only defeat him but to try and destroy his reputation completely.

From Salon:

The Wasilla mayor's seat is nonpartisan, and Mayor Stein, a former city planner who had held the post for nine years, ran a businesslike campaign that stressed his experience and competency. But Palin ignited the traditionally low-key race with scorching social issues, injecting "God, guns and abortion into the race -- things that had nothing to do with being mayor of a small town," according to Tigner.

Palin's mayoral campaign rode the wave of conservative, evangelical fervor that was sweeping Alaska in the '90s. Suddenly candidates' social values, not their ability to manage the roads and sewer systems, were dominating the debate. "Sarah and I were both Republicans, but this was an entirely new slant to local politics -- much more aggressive than anything I'd ever seen," said Stein, looking back at the election that put Palin on the political map.

There was a knife-sharp, personal edge to Palin's campaign that many locals found disturbing, particularly because of the warm relationship between Palin and Stein before the race.

"I called Sarah's campaign for mayor the end of the age of innocence in Wasilla," said Carney.

Even though Palin knew that Stein is a Protestant Christian, from a Pennsylvania Dutch background, her campaign began circulating the word that she would be "Wasilla's first Christian mayor." Some of Stein's supporters interpreted this as an attempt to portray Stein as Jewish in the heavily evangelical community. Stein himself, an eminently reasonable and reflective man, thinks "they were redefining Christianity to mean born-agains."

The Palin campaign also started another vicious whisper campaign, spreading the word that Stein and his wife -- who had chosen to keep her own last name when they were married -- were not legally wed. Again, Palinsper campaign, spreading the word that Stein and his wife -- who had chosen to keep her own last name when they were married -- were not legally wed. Again, Palin knew the truth, Stein said, but chose to muddy the waters. "We actually had to produce our marriage certificate," recalled Stein, whose wife died of breast cancer in 2005 without ever reconciling with Palin.

You see it is ridiculous for the Jewish community, and certain star struck journalists, to allow themselves to be fooled by Sarah Palin's miniature Israel flag stuck carelessly by her office window, or her occasional Facebook posts, or her feigned support of Israel demonstrated by urging Obama to bomb the crap out of Iran.  She does not care two shits about the Jewish community.

She only cares about Sarah. And if it helps her cause to appear to be a friend to he Jewish community and Israel, well then by God that's exactly how she will appear!

Of course it might be even be a little more complicated than that.

You see Palin's old spiritual guru was one Mary Glazier, who is closely associated with the New Apostolic Reformation that have a rather interesting belief about the future relationship between the Chistians and the Jews.

Shifts in eschatology mean changes in activism. In plain English, the current trend removes theological restraints and mandates humans to move the hands of the prophetic clock themselves. This includes support for aggressive proselytizing and Messianic ministries. Only Messianic, or evangelized Jews are necessary in this end times scenario in order to bring about the 1000 year Christian utopia or Millennium. Most New Apostolic media still includes the dispensational-based prophecy of "hunters" who will persecute Jews and lead to a "second" or "final Holocaust" forcing the remaining Jewish communities of the world to flee to Israel. This was the meaning of the fishers and hunters reference in Hagee's now infamous sermon quote, which was unfortunately almost completely disregarded by most pundits. In the New Apostolic narrative, born again Christians will not watch from the grandstands of heaven, but still be on earth to shelter these fleeing Jews. They believe that that out of gratitude to a new generation of "Righteous Gentiles" those fleeing Jews will convert in mass numbers and that this will help to bring about the prerequisite condition for the Millennium.

So in other words, Sister Sarah supports Israel and the Jewish community because she needs them to one day deny their amazing  heritage, and  the religious belief of their ancestors, to become born again Christians and help usher in a new "Christian Utopia." How is THAT for religious tolerance?

Too bad the Jewish people who are ignorant enough to support Sarah Palin, and the ex-Fox news reporter who serves as her apologist, did not bother to stop and do their homework.

Even without a title Sarah Palin desperately wanted to make an impact. And now she has. Update!

From now on, when somebody looks up one of the most horrific accusations EVER aimed at the Jewish community, they will think of Sarah Palin.

Ms. Palin welcome to immortality.

(BTW that was actually the result of a hack done over on Wikipedia that has since been repaired.  Somehow I don't think they can so easily repair the damage that Palin has done to her brand.)

Update: The criticisms over this horrible phrase have now gone mainstream.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Now remember THIS is the NBC Nightly News, NOT just MSNBC or some internet news sites. This is the most watched prime time news broadcast on television.

No way can Palin explain this away by talking about partisan politics, or the "Lamestream media."  Like I said this is immortality.
