Religious people described as cowards.
And people say that I'M not diplomatic.
Still he makes excellent points.
P.S. I should probably add that in light of the events that took place in Orlando, this video seemed especially appropriate. Hiding behind religion to camouflage your inhumanity to man may be one of the most prevalent acts of cowardice that we see.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Ray "Banana man" Comfort is rescued from embarrassment after D.C. police bar him from trying to evangelize Atheists at the Reason Rally.
Courtesy of the Christian News Wire:
Filmmaker and author Ray Comfort has to revise his outreach plans to atheists, according to Washington, D.C. police, or face arrest. At the June 4 Reason Rally in the National Mall, where an estimated 20,000 atheists will gather to hear speakers such as Johnny Depp and Penn Jillette, Comfort had planned to give away 5,000 copies of his new book about atheism, along with $25,000 worth of Subway gift cards to atheists, as a gesture of Christian love.
After announcing the D.C. outreach, and plans to film open-air preaching for his TV program ("The Way of the Master" -- broadcast in 190 countries) he had over 1,000 Christians officially register to join him. "To the D.C. police," Comfort reported, "that constituted a protest and therefore we needed a permit to gather. We would have to stay at the other end of the National Mall, and they said that if we persisted to approach atheists to speak with them we would be arrested."
The best-selling author then decided to cancel the outreach event, though they would still be filming at the Washington Monument.
I mentioned in a previous post that Comfort was apparently helping to train Christians to approach the Atheists attending the Reason Rally and attempt to convince them of the error of their ways.
Now personally I would have enjoyed an exchange like this because I really like seeing superstitious people cry, however I totally understand that it could have proved really annoying to people who were hoping to engage in intelligent conversations.
Later in the article Comfort claims that he has a "good relationships with Atheists." Which is probably fairly accurate as most Atheists see him as a non-threatening buffoon after viewing his now famous "banana argument" against Atheism.
A classic in every sense of the word.

Creationist Ken Ham takes to Twitter and preacher man-splains the Reason Rally and what Atheists actually believe.
So the Reason Rally is getting ready to start on June 4th, in Washington D.C. and people could not be more excited.
Well not all people.
Essentially the problem seems to be that there are more and more people thinking for themselves, and not looking for purpose in any of the books sanctioned by any organized religion.
And that REALLY seems to agitate folks like Ken Ham who depend on people NOT thinking for themselves for their livelihood.
Gee, maybe it's time to start making an honest living Kenny.
Well not all people.
I really don't think "worship" is the correct word in this context. The "Reason Rally" 2016 advertised as "world's largest atheist party" is really a worship service--they worship man pic.twitter.com/InBNlhIYOg— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016
Okay that's a little closer, but I think the word "faith" is once again being misused.Atheists at Reason Rally 2016 are really worshipping the god of self--they exalt reason--they're faith is they arose by natural processes— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016
Okay seriously, worship, faith, and religion are all words that simply do NOT apply to Atheists. We need to be calling atheism for what it is--a religion-an anti-God religion--a religion that exalts fallible human reason-a worship of man— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016
Okay well now we're just being silly.Atheist Lawrence Krauss speaking at Reason Rally 2016 says "Forget Jesus...the stars died so you can be here.."--He is worshipping the stars— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016
Atheists work hard against Christianity cause they're putting their hands over eyes & ears and shouting "I refuse to see and hear truth!"— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016
Yeah well it kind of goes on from there. And on, and on, and on, and....well you get the point.Atheists believe universe & live arose by natural processes--that's their religion--it's a blind faith religion--it's an anti-God religion— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 15, 2016

Christians are receiving special training so that they can confront Atheists at the Reason Rally. Oh this ought to be fun!
Courtesy of Reason Rally Outreach:
The Atheists will be having another “Reason Rally”. They will be gathering, which gives us a great opportunity to witness to 20,000 atheists in one day. Our hope is to get 1,000 Christians to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them. If you love to share the gospel or not this will be a great opportunity for you. With so many other believers sharing the gospel you will get to learn from other and enjoy great Christian fellowship.
Friday night we will have a special training with Ray Comfort, Matt Slick and Andrew Rappaport. Ray will be sharing an exclusive sneak peek of the first 10 min. of their upcoming film “The Atheist Delusion”, only to those that attend the Friday night training.
Wait, was Ray "Banana Man" Comfort on that list of trainers?
Holy crap this will be a debacle.
Here is more courtesy of The Friendly Atheist:
It’s telling that they need training before approaching atheists. The idea here is that we’ll challenge them with arguments they don’t have responses to, so they need to know how to really get their message across. Given that trainer Ray Comfort’s past efforts have included exaggerated movies and a silly banana, this will inevitably be a crash course that takes the crash part literally.
Damn, I hope somebody takes footage of some of these exchanges between the Reason Rally attendees and the newly trained evangelists showing up to save their immortal souls.
You can bet I'll be posting it if they do.

The Republican dream ticket?
Courtesy of US News:
Jason King, a 36-year-old homeless rights activist who lives in the District of Columbia has come up with the Internet’s 2016 dream ticket: Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential pick, and Lord Voldemort, the snakelike wizard villain from the "Harry Potter" series. His faux political campaign joins an increasingly packed 2016 presidential field.
You know oddly enough Valdemort is polling better than a number of GOP candidates.
So it seems to me that if this were an actual ticket he might do better if he were the primary candidate and he dumped the Palin dead weight.
Just a suggestion.

Video tribute to the Reason Rally.
To some of you, particularly those who are religious, this might seem unnecessarily provocative, or even an attempt to give a giant middle finger to those who embrace a particular faith, but I would argue that is not the case.
What this is, and why it is so important, is that it is the coming together publicly of a group of people who, more often than not, feel terribly isolated.
Individuals who grow up within a religious environment, often have a strong sense of community. In fact MANY of their activities will center around their church, or temple, or synagogue.
Atheists have none of that.
We are often ostracized and marginalized to the point that our only constant companions are books and our own troubling thoughts.
I can tell you that as a seven year old suddenly questioning the existence of God, there was no faster way to find your self abandoned on the monkey bars then to bring up that topic on the playground. There was quite literally NO ONE with whom I could discuss what I was going inside my head.
In fact I was told by the principal at one elementary school that parents had complained and that I simply needed to STFU. So in that environment, where I was expected to learn and seek answers to my questions, I was forbidden from asking what I considered one of the most important questions of all.
But nothing could stop my mind from pondering those questions, and for me it became a lifelong journey toward revelation. A journey, might I add, that I have made solo for the majority of my life.
So knowing that there are so many like minded people in the world, and seeing them gathered together in Washington D.C., may come as close as an Atheist can come to a shared religious experience.
And at least for me, that is huge.

Christianity done wrong, at the Reason Rally.
This individual was spotted cruising around the Reason Rally in Washington D.C, the other day.
I cannot imagine that he won over too many converts with that approach.
And of course you had these folks.
Once again, if you are trying to get people to leave Atheism for Christianity, kind of an EPIC FAIL don't you think?
I can only imagine what might have happened if any of the above individuals had run into these two attendees.
Like I said before, I REALLY wish I had been able to go.
Looks like tons and tons of godless pagan fun. And what could be MORE fun than that?
