This may be what finally costs Donald Trump almost all of the female vote in November.

Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

In the final moments of the first presidential debate Monday night, Hillary Clinton brought up Alicia Machado, a former winner of Trump’s Miss Universe pageant, who told Inside Edition earlier this year that Donald Trump referred to her as “Miss Housekeeping” and “Miss Piggy” after she gained weight following her victory in 1996. “After that episode, I was sick, anorexia and bulimia for five years,” Machado said of the ridicule from Trump. “Over the past 20 years, I’ve gone to a lot of psychologists to combat this.”

As Clinton mentioned during the debate, Machado became a U.S. citizen earlier this year and “you can bet she’s going to vote this November.” In response, Trump repeated the question, “Where did you find this?” and later defended the derogatory comments he has made in the past about Rosie O’Donnell. Tweeting in Spanish following the debate, Machado thanked Clinton for respecting women, adding, “I’m with you!”

This morning on Fox and Friends Trump essentially doubled down on his comments about Macahdo.
Oh yeah, I am sure the women are just DYING to vote for this misogynist  asshole.

Trump also doubled down on his attacks against Rosie O'Donnell last night:

"I said very tough things to her,” Trump admitted. “And I think everybody would agree that she deserves it, and nobody feels sorry for her.”

There are still going to be some women who vote for Trump, probably the same ones who consistently vote for Republicans working hard to strip them of their rights and reducing them to breeding stock, but I think the majority of women are going to have a very visceral and negative view of Donald Trump after learning about his harsh words to this Miss universe contestant and Rosie O'Donnell.

The man's a pig. And I think women know a pig when they see one.

Ted Cruz to name Carly Fiorina as his running mate. Oh yeah, THAT will help. Update!

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) intends to name former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential running mate if he succeeds in winning the GOP nomination, multiple sources reported Wednesday.

Cruz’s move is seen as a last-minute gambit in hopes of shaking up the race and blocking front-runner Donald Trump, who easily swept five primary states across the Northeast on Tuesday.

Personally I have no idea how appointing one of the most anti-female female candidates in history is going to help Cruz at this point, but hey when you are desperately grabbing at anything to stay afloat even a rusty anvil looks promising at first glance.

I am so sure that Carly Fiornia's attacks on Planned Parenthood and lies about what she saw in those doctored videos is really going to go over big with those soccer moms. Assuming that soccer moms is still a thing of course.

You would think he might have learned the lesson from John McCain when he made a similar mistake back in 2008.

Speaking of Sarah Palin you know that somewhere she is pressing her thighs together and muttering to herself that soon it will be time for Donald Trump to reward HER for her dedicated ass kissing, just like Cruz is rewarding Fiorina.

"Second time's a charm America, this time around my brand new elderly sugar daddy and I are going all the way!"

Update: It looks like Palin has decided to try and make herself part of the news day by mocking Ted Cruz for his basketball gaffe in Indiana:

Damn speaking of having a shelf life hasn't the expiration date been reached on this tired old basketball trope of Palin's?

After all she was as much of a basketball star as she was a hunter, or journalism major, or book author.

Meaning, you know, not.

Manly man creates manly testosterone infused Facebook like site just for men. Threatens the lives of any women who dare sign up on it. So manly.

Can't you just feel the manliness oozing off of him ladies?
Courtesy of Raw Story:

The founder of a men’s only social media site modeled on Facebook issued a warning this week threatening the lives of women who attempt to sign up.

The creator of ‘Manbook,’ identified as Joschua Boehm — but who also uses the names Peter Nolan, Peter-Andrew: Nolan, and Joschua-Brandon: Boehm — wrote on his newly-launched site, “We would ask you women to respect our rights as you wish your rights to be respected. If you are unwilling to respect our right to freedom of association do not expect men to respect your right to life. Ok?”

Boehm, who has a history of online anti-woman rhetoric, also maintains a website called Crimes Against Fathers where he “names and shames” women he believes have perjured themselves when leveling accusations of rape, sexual assault, or pedophilia against men.

Hey look I'm a guy (No seriously I just went to empty my bladder and I am fairly certain I saw man parts.), and as a guy I also think that sometimes guys get a raw deal from women.

However I also realize that it is NOTHING compared to the raw deal that women get from men, and the misogynistic culture that supports men.

So if a guy wants to make a place that only guys hang out, go for it. (After all I had a cool boys only fort when I was a kid, but then I turned nine and it has been all about the ladies ever since.)

But THIS guy is not just a guy trying to establish a masculine corner of the internet for himself, this guy is a straight up doucheknozzle, who has a real ingrained hatred toward women.

Why else would he print veiled threats like the one up above?

And check this quote out for instance:

“So. Ladies. Learn what a right is and do not be violating the rights of other people, especially men, if you are not prepared to have your rights violated in return. Ok?”

Yeah clearly this is a guy that has not been intimate with a woman he was not paying to touch him in quite some time.

Hey but it's a free internet so if he wants to create a place where he and his fellow woman haters can get together and tell each other that there is nothing wrong with them, and that all women are bitches, then more power to him.

However if he thinks that women are not going to visit his page under an assumed name, monitor what they say and then mock them, well then he is in for a very unpleasant surprise.

And what I would really like this asshole to do is to stop making the rest of us look bad. Because REAL men are not so afraid of women that they hide themselves away and threaten anybody with girly parts who dares to come close.

I'm just saying.

Just a petition to have the Bible removed from all Target stores. Here let me get a pen.

Courtesy of Change.org:

It's a book that encourages readers to murder women for entertainment. The incentive is to commit sexual violence against women, then abuse or kill them to proceed or get 'god' points – and now Target are stocking it and promoting it for your Xmas stocking.

This is The Holy Bible. This book means that after various sex acts, readers are given options to kill women by stoning her unconscious, Setting them on fire, cutting off their hands, and killing their children!

One of many fan passages on In The Holy Bible depicts woman being set alight for having sex "And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire." (Leviticus 21:9).

This misogynistic book literally makes a game of bashing, killing and horrific violence against women. It also links sexual arousal and violence.

Just knowing that women are being portrayed as deserving to be sexually used by men and potentially murdered for sport and pleasure – to see this violence turned into a form of entertainments is sickening and causes us great pain and harm.

This book spreads the idea that certain women exist as scapegoats for male violence. It shows hatred and contempt for women in the sex industry and puts them at greater risk. Women in the industry are 40 times more likely to be murdered by a man than any other group of women.

Books like this are grooming yet another generation of boys to tolerate violence against women. It is fueling the epidemic of violence experienced by so many girls and women in Australia - and globally.

Target, you pride yourself on being a family company, caring for local communities, and have a strong ethical sourcing policy. How can you do this while contributing to hostile and callous attitudes toward victims of violence and, more broadly, to all women?

Please put ethics before profits and make a strong statement that you do not condone sexual violence, sexual exploitation or the abuse of women as ‘entertainment’.

Well it's hard to argue against all that now isn't it?

It is hard to imagine that Target would comply with this request, but it is worth noting that the petition is only 134 signatures shy of reaching its goal of 25,000 as I write this.

So that tells us something.

And I do so enjoy tilting at windmills sometimes.

Just a few quotes concerning the opinion of "good", and even saintly, Christian men about the role of women.

All quotes courtesy of Atheism and Me:

What is the difference whether it is in a wife or a mother, it is still Eve the temptress that we must beware of in any woman… I fail to see what use woman can be to man, if one excludes the function of bearing children. — Saint Augustine

Women should not be enlightened or educated in any way. They should, in fact, be segregated as they are the cause of hideous and involuntary erections in holy men. — Saint Augustine

Woman was merely man’s helpmate, a function which pertains to her alone. She is not the image of God but as far as man is concerned, he is by himself the image of God. — Saint Augustine

As regards the individual nature, woman is defective and misbegotten, for the active power of the male seed tends to the production of a perfect likeness in the masculine sex; while the production of a woman comes from defect in the active power. — Saint Thomas Aquinas

Woman is a misbegotten man and has a faulty and defective nature in comparison to his. Therefore she is unsure in herself. What she cannot get, she seeks to obtain through lying and diabolical deceptions. And so, to put it briefly, one must be on one’s guard with every woman, as if she were a poisonous snake and the horned devil. … Thus in evil and perverse doings woman is cleverer, that is, slyer, than man. Her feelings drive woman toward every evil, just as reason impels man toward all good. — St. Albertus Magnus

Every woman should be filled with shame by the thought that she is a woman. —Clement of Alexandria,Church father, venerated as a Saint until the 17th century

If [women] become tired or even die, that does not matter. Let them die in childbirth—that is why they are there. — Martin Luther

Woman was made for only one reason, to serve and obey man. — John Knox

Wife: Be content to be insignificant. What loss would it be to God or man had you never been born. — John Wesley

A wife should submit herself to the leadership of her husband. Leadership in the church should always be male. — Southern Baptist Convention (2000)

As I have said numerous times in the past, there are few things that confuse me more than the fact that so many women still have faith in a religion that has demonstrated nothing but disdain for them since its very inception.

The five nasty traits all religious fundamentalists share.

Courtesy of Current TV:

“It’s those hardcore true believers, addicted to believing they’re always on God’s side. Those are the ones making planet Earth so complicated for the rest of us — be you secular, aetheist or religious. And truth be told, the fires of most of our conflicts today are fanned most ferociously by the fundamentalist wings of every religion. And they all hate each other, and they don’t care how many of us get killed in their cross-fire.” —John Fugelsang

I thought this was awesome! And, the not so awesome part, is that it is true.

Alaska's Senate Majority Leader attempting to pass legislation that will essentially make abortion unattainable for the women of our state.

Courtesy of KTUU:

Medically necessary abortions would be defined as those needed to avoid serious risk to the life of the woman under a bill introduced in the Alaska Senate.

The measure, from Senate Majority Leader John Coghill, says the state health department may not pay for abortion services unless they are medically necessary or the pregnancy was the result of rape or incest and the rape or incest was "promptly reported" to law enforcement or public health authorities.

The Alaska Supreme Court has held that the state must fund medically necessary abortions if it funds other procedures deemed medically necessary for people in need. A legislative legal opinion last year, however, said it's not clear what makes an abortion medically necessary, and that it's likely only further litigation will provide greater clarity.

Only allow access to abortions for those that are raped? And only for those where the rape was "promptly reported?" What state does this neanderthal misogynist think he represents?

This is Alaska, where victims of rape and incest are more often than not in tiny villages with only one or two safety officers on hand, and where getting a State Trooper out there can take many hours if not days. And while they wait they are quite likely living with their attacker, if they are victims of incest, or surrounded by the perpetrator's family members who will pressure them into shutting up.

Coghill's proposed bill is an attack on women in this state, especially poor or native women, and should signal the end of his political career for all time.

If you are a woman in Alaska it is time for your voice to be heard loud and clear.

Here is Coghill's contact information. Don't bother trying to be respectful, he certainly has no respect for you.

New Mexico Republican lawmaker writes bill that would make it illegal for rape victims to terminate pregnancy, calling it "destroying evidence of the crime." No, I am NOT kidding!

Rep. Cathrynn "I know nothing about rape: Brown.
Courtesy of HufPo:

A Republican lawmaker in New Mexico introduced a bill on Wednesday that would legally require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial.

House Bill 206, introduced by state Rep. Cathrynn Brown (R), would charge a rape victim who ended her pregnancy with a third-degree felony for "tampering with evidence."

“Tampering with evidence shall include procuring or facilitating an abortion, or compelling or coercing another to obtain an abortion, of a fetus that is the result of criminal sexual penetration or incest with the intent to destroy evidence of the crime," the bill says.

Third-degree felonies in New Mexico carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.

Pat Davis of ProgressNow New Mexico, a progressive nonprofit opposing the bill, called it "blatantly unconstitutional" on Thursday.

“The bill turns victims of rape and incest into felons and forces them to become incubators of evidence for the state,” he said. “According to Republican philosophy, victims who are ‘legitimately raped’ will now have to carry the fetus to term in order to prove their case.“

You know I think the part of this that bothers me the most is that it is being introduced by a woman! How is that even possible?

First off this is a completely naked attempt to  an anti-abortion bill while cloaking it in the most transparent covering of an pro-law enforcement bill, and I truly doubt that too many people in New Mexico are confused about that.

However the other thing is that THIS is what Rape Kits are for. If used properly they can identify the rapist using the DNA he would leave behind and as humiliating as it is for a woman to go through that process it is infinitely better than forcing her to give birth to her rapist's child.

You know I often ask myself if the Republican party is a party completely without compassion or self awareness, ans when I read stories like this one the the answer to that question becomes all too obvious.

Here is a little tune to help a woman recognize "legitimate rape" when she experiences one.

Courtesy of Gawker:

"A lot of controversy over Todd Akin's comments on 'Legitimate Rape' and the miracles a woman's uterus can do when it happens," the New York-based musician writes. "But how does the uterus KNOW when the rape is legitimate? Finally, someone with the answers-me."

Sing along as Ferrera runs down the list of illegitimate rapes: A little drunk? Illegitimate! Knew the rapist? Illegitimate! Married to the rapist? Husband's privilege! And so on.

Well there you go, now you know.

Monday, August 20, 2012

Todd Akin and Paul Ryan essentially see eye to eye on issue of access to abortion in cases of rape. And don't let the Romney campaign tell you otherwise!

By now I am sure that most of you have heard about Missouri Republican Senate nominee, Todd Akin's idiotic and  shameful statement on rape:

“It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Mr. Akin said of pregnancies from rape. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child.”

What you may not yet know, because the Romney/Ryan campaign is working their asses off to keep you from knowing it, is that  Paul Akin and Paul Ryan once co-authored a piece of controversial legislation that will forever tie their ideologies on this topic together:

Akin and Ryan were the original co-sponsors of the controversial bill H.R. 3, “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” which initially included language which changed the definition of “rape” to “forcible rape,” until public pressure forced the bill’s supporters to remove that unacceptable and narrow definition. As I wrote previously, Paul Ryan is not just anti-choice, his anti-choice views are extreme and just plain bad for all women.

Linking Ryan to Akin and the idea that there is such a thing as “legitimate rape” based on pseudo-science and folklore is something that needs to be done before the upcoming election. While Team Romney attempted to create distance with Akin, saying that both Romney and Ryan “disagree” with his statements, there was nothing in their statement that said they condemn his remarks as hurtful to victims. There was also nothing in Team Romney’s statement that pointed out that what Akin said about pregnancies resulting from rape being rare is just flat-out wrong.

Ryan was against abortion in all cases including rape until Team Romney’s statement. Romney has said he would get rid of Planned Parenthood and has been moving further right on women’s issues since he was a pro-choice governor of Massachusetts. This could be a huge problem for the Republican ticket in November.

Despite the damage control that the Romney/Ryan campaign will  obviously create to handle this mess, do not be  fooled, THIS is exactly what Paul Ryan believes to be true. Based on his support for this legislation we can legitimately conclude that he ALSO believes that many women who request an abortion on the grounds of rape, will be lying about the circumstances in order to bypass the law (If such a stringent one is in place where they live) or to protect themselves from the judgment of others, and that most "legitimate" rapes do not result in pregnancy.

Just to be clear, for those who may have been subjected to a sanitized version of history, rape is a time honored practice among conquering forces, once referred to as "the spoils of war," and it was NOT done simply for recreational purposes, but instead to wipe out any traces of their enemies gene pool and replace it with their own. Often even going so far as to murder already pregnant women in order to expedite that process.

Already many fellow Republicans are calling for Todd Akin to drop out of his Senate race, though currently there are no calls for Paul Ryan to do the same.

As you can imagine Akin's Democratic opponent Claire McCaskill has already tweeted her dismay at his remarks, and is using this to her political advantage.
And clearly if Romney keeps Ryan on the ticket, it will be perfectly reasonable for the Obama campaign to do the same. Forget calls for Obama to drop Biden, the REAL question is how can Romney keep Ryan?

Is it too early to send Mitt Romney a thank you card for choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate?

The Obama campaign brings out the big guns by creating ad featuring the hot girl from the "40 Year Old Virgin" movie. Oh, I am SO voting for the President now!

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“Planned Parenthood was my health care provider when I didn’t have insurance after I graduated from college,” the “Hunger Games” star says in a video released on President Barack Obama’s YouTube channel on Wednesday. “Yes, I got birth control, but it was for my massive migraine headaches and my heavy flow. Yeah, I’m on the record saying I have a heavy flow.”

“The services that they provide — what is it? Ninety-five percent of them don’t involve anything controversial. So for that little 5 percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesn’t agree with, he’s going to take away cancer screenings?” Banks continues. “What is he doing? He’s going to take away people’s access to health care close by. We’re talking about working-class ladies who need health care.”

“President Obama has not compromised on women’s rights and that’s why President Obama needs to stay in office,” she concludes.

Okay well of course my headline was mostly tongue in cheek except the part about Elizabeth Banks being the "hot girl" in the FYOV movie. That is where I first noticed her and have been a fan ever since.

However the point she makes in this ad is of course a very important one for women to realize. The mission of Planned Parenthood is to provide health care services, and educational services, to people who need them, NOT to promote abortion as the Right Wing would have us believe.

Mitt Romney has jumped on the bandwagon to vilify Planned Parenthood and has even said he will "get rid of it." That is an incredibly ignorant and insensitive statement to make.

In my opinion NO woman who cares about other women could possibly support the Republican ticket in 2012.

By the way I am still a huge fan of Elizabeth Banks, and her "heavy flow" admission does NOTHING to deter my admiration. (And how cool is it that the actress who played Laura Bush in Oliver Stone's movie "W" is making this ad for the President?)

Michigan Democrats stand up for women's rights, and immediately suffer the consequences.

A rather remarkable thing happened in the Michigan House the other day. This.

After those rather colorful and remarks were heard on the House floor, two of those female legislators were not allowed to speak on the floor the next day.

Brown said she had no idea when she arrived at the House chamber Thursday morning that she would not be allowed to speak. She was about to deliver a speech in opposition to a bill that involves teacher retirement, as the minority vice chair of the Education Committee, but Minority Floor Leader Kate Segal (D-Battle Creek) told her she had been banned from speaking for the day.

"I'd love to know what I said that was offensive," Brown told The Huffington Post. "It was an anti-choice bill regarding abortion, which obviously involves a vagina, so, you know, I don't know what word I'm supposed to use otherwise."

Byrum caused a stir when she marched through the House gallery Wednesday protesting that she hadn't been allowed to speak on her amendment to the anti-abortion bill that would have required a man to have proof of a medical emergency before he could have a vasectomy.

"It's my impression that I'm being banned from speaking as a result of my use of the term vasectomy -- a medical procedure," Byrum told The Huffington Post. "Neither of us has been contacted by Republican leadership as to why or how long we've been banned. Talk about disrespectful, that they don’t have the common decency to tell us themselves."

Ari Adler, a spokesman for House Majority Leader Jase Bolger (R-Marshall), said the lawmakers were banned from speaking because of their behavior, not because of their word choice. "They behaved in a way that disrupted the decorum of the House," Adler said. "For Brown, it was not the words she used, but the way she used them that resulted in her being gaveled down." In Byrum's case, Adler said, "I hate to put it this way, but she essentially had a temper tantrum on the House floor."

She had a "temper tantrum?" You know I have seen some incredibly  petulant and even immature remarks made by male Senators, and Congressmen, for years, I do not remember any of them being referred to as having "thrown a tantrum." Even though, I might add, that would have been  a very appropriate definition of their actions.

But having a female legislator stand up for her rights, and the rights of her constituents, that makes the men in the room uneasy, and well of course THAT is unseemly and SHE must be put back in her place.

Well gee it's certainly a good thing there's no War on Women going on right now, right?

You can see an interview with Rep. Lisa Brown on yesterday's Rachel Maddow Show.

House GOP blocks military victims of rape from accessing abortions.

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

Republican Senators John McCain, Scott Brown, and Susan Collins all support an effort by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat from New Hampshire, to expand abortion access for military women who are raped. But despite bipartisan support in the Senate, Shaheen's proposal may not make it into the final version of the 2013 defense authorization bill—because House Republicans oppose it.

If Shaheen's measure passes, military families will finally have the same access to abortion that other federal employees already receive. Unlike the rest of the federal government, the Department of Defense currently only provides abortion coverage if the life of the mother is at stake. Under current law, if a State Department employee is raped, her government health insurance plan will pay for an abortion if she wants one. But if an Army medic serving in Afghanistan is raped and becomes pregnant, she can't use her military health plan to pay for an abortion. If she does decide to get an abortion, she will have to pay for it with her own money. And if she can't prove she was raped—which is difficult before an investigation is completed—she may have to look for services off base, which can be dangerous or impossible in many parts of the world.

"We have more than 200,000 women serving on active duty in our military," Shaheen tells Mother Jones. "They should have the same rights to affordable reproductive health services as all of the civilians who they protect."

In late May, the Senate Armed Services Committee approved Shaheen's amendment, attaching it to the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act. McCain, the committee's top Republican, voted in favor, as did Brown and Collins. Shaheen is "hopeful" her proposal has enough support to be included in the final bill. The NDAA still needs a vote on the Senate floor. But for Shaheen's amendment, there's a bigger problem: the Republican-controlled House.

This is unconscionable! These women are members of OUR military, that WE failed to protect while they were serving our country, and now WE violate their bodies again by forcing them to carry their rapists child to full term?

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Isn't it bad enough that in the military there were 3,191 reported sexual assaults in 2011, with an unreported estimate of around 19,000? These are our sisters, daughter,s and mothers, where is their justice?

What kind of pro-life statement is it to force these soldiers to live the rest of their lives caring for the constant  reminder of their shame and humiliation?

For those who may not be aware, there is an important documentary about this very thing called "The Invisible War."

Here is the preview.

Misogynist minister says on Sean Hannity's show, what Republican males believe but are usually too careful to admit.

Now I usually steer clear of the Sean Hannity show because the banging of my head against the wall disturbs the other people in my house. (Of course I make an exception when "She whose name must not be mentioned" is on because that is part of my job, and primal screams help to release the pressure between my ears.)

So I happened to miss this appearance by one, Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, who apparently is now the Republican Id made manifest.

Here get a load of what this guy says about how feminists are building a shameless society.

I know, right?

Apparently this guy is a frequent guest on Hannity's show and in fact Hannity is on the board of his organization, something called "BOND: Rebuilding the Family by Rebuilding the Man."

From what I can gather this guy is essentially TERRIFIED of strong women and wants them barefoot, pregnant, and back in the damn kitchen like God intended.

Usually this idiot is able to sit on Hannity's show in the company of like minded neanderthals and nobody says boo about his misogyny, however on a recent program Hannity also invited columnist Kirsten Powers on the panel and was all ready to start the attack on President Obama for taking credit for the death of Osama Bin Laden (How dare he!) when this happened.

Now I cannot say that I am a fan of Ms. Powers, but damn! She did a pretty good job of standing up to this asshole,  (Of course I could not help but notice that she seemed to be much less offended by his attacks toward "liberal" women.)

In my opinion this is EXACTLY what a lot of Republican men, and especially Sean Hannity, secretly believe but are just to aware of the shit storm they will unleash if they say it out loud.

So as a man who ABSOLUTELY recognizes the positive impact women have in our society, whether working in the home or working out of the home, I would like to congratulate Kirsten Powers for bringing the long overdue shit storm to this man on national television.

I would also like for somebody to ask Hannity how he can continue to justify serving on the advisory board of this man's clearly anti-woman organization?

Now who said that the Republicans were waging a War on Women again?

Today's "Oh my God I So Hope This Is True!" story. Update!

According to the National Enquirer:

Women declare war on Rush Limbaugh for calling a young law student a “slut” and a prostitute,” and now his own wife Kathryn is jumping on the bash-Rush bandwagon!

She’s furious at the 61-year-old conservative firebrand and threatened to walk out of their marriage if he keeps up his trash talk, say insiders.

After an outpouring of outrage from both the left and right, he issued a limp apology, saying: “I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation.” But that didn’t stem the tide of criticism, and his beautiful wife of less than two years was swept up in the controversy, having to endure rebukes from some of her closest friends.

“Kathryn is fit to be tied,” said a pal. “She feels as if she’s being tarred and feathered with the same brush that people are using on her husband. She really let him have it. “She said she’s become a social pariah because of his hot-headed, heedless comments and warned him in no uncertain terms that he’d better keep his trap shut and stop using words like ‘slut’ for any woman!”

Rush is said to be much more worried about alienating his wife, who says that they rarely fight over politics even though she has her “own opinions.”

“Rush couldn’t face life without her,” the insider divulged.

Yes I KNOW it's the National Enquirer, and yes I KNOW they are sometimes not as persnickety about the facts as they should be, but you have to admit that if there were EVER a story that simply HAD to be true, that this would be it.

You tell me ladies, if YOUR husband said anything even remotely as disgusting as the garbage that recently dribbled out this fat bastard's mouth, wouldn't you be reevaluating whether the fancy clothes, big house, and buckets of jewelry were really worth putting up with what could be the single most disgusting human being on earth?

And by the way speaking of prostitution, what do we call a woman who sleeps with a man who she finds physically disgusting, and who embarrasses her  on a daily basis, for his money?

Update: I thought you all might like to hear Rush Limballs essentially begging his advertisers not to abandon him.

Wednesday, March 07, 2012

SuperPAC that supports Newt Gingrich is buying up ad space on Rush Limbaugh's radio program that horrified advertisers have suddenly freed up.

"By gosh Rush needs me, and thankfully I have a SuperPAC full of money to meet that need. After all, we misogynists need to stick together!"
Courtesy of the LA Times:

A new week greeted Rush Limbaugh with four more advertiser defections, for a total of 11, along with a sharp rebuke from former Republican presidential nominee John McCain. Peter Gabriel asked that his song "Sledgehammer" no longer be used on Limbaugh's radio program.

Even after Limbaugh issued a rare apology, the furor that had erupted when the conservative radio host called an activist law student a "slut" and a "prostitute" showed no sign of abating Monday.

But a backlash that might be a career-breaker for some commentators seemed unlikely to dent Limbaugh's considerable stature among his 15 million weekly listeners and conservative leaders. At least one advertiser stepped forward Monday to acknowledge increasing its ad spending on the Limbaugh program.

A spokesman for Winning Our Future, a "super PAC" backing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's presidential bid, said the group purchased more airtime. "He apologized and we're satisfied," said spokesman Rick Tyler, who said the group began advertising with the program two weeks ago.

Unbelievable.

If this were happening on the Democratic side the radio host under attack for such disgusting remarks, would find himself the loneliest man in America.

But when it happens on the Right, everybody, including even the women, circle the wagons and play a rousing game of "blame the victim."

Though I guess I should not be surprised that a man who attacks a defenseless woman would find support from the man who treats the women in his life like cartons of milk stamped with an expiration date. "Sorry honey, your 'sell by date' has passed and I am packing up and moving on to other dairy products now. Unless of course you want to have a threesome with the cottage cheese?"

But what am I saying? The SuperPAC's are not ALLOWED to coordinate with their candidate, so clearly Gingrich has NO control over this.

Right? Yeah, right!
