When I think of all the faux scandals that the Right Wing drummed up to go after Obama and his administration, and compare that to the very real scandals that seem to pop up almost every day with this new guy, I am almost left speechless.
If President Obama had one, even ONE, of the scandals orbiting around Trump they would have literally locked him up and thrown away the key.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio returns, and he is still looking for Obama's birth certificate.
Courtesy of Mercury News:
Fresh off a presidential pardon, America’s most infamous lawman is coming to California this week as part of an effort to re-enter the political arena.
“Don’t think I’m going fishing,” Joe Arpaio, the 85-year-old former Maricopa County sheriff, said in an interview with the Bay Area News Group. “I am not going away.”
Arpaio, whose hard-line immigration policies divided the country and led to his own criminal conviction, is speaking at a Republican fundraising dinner in Fresno on Friday, an appearance that has local police bracing for protests and some GOP officials staying far away.
“Sheriff Joe” was thrust back into the national spotlight last month when he received a pardon from President Donald Trump. He was convicted of contempt of court earlier this year, with a judge finding that he had violated court orders to stop detaining suspected undocumented immigrants in Arizona’s Maricopa County, which includes metro Phoenix. The pardon saved him from a possible sentence of six months in prison.
In an interview on Tuesday afternoon, Arpaio, who lost re-election in November after 24 years in office, said the Fresno event was an example of his renewed “mission” to fight for conservative ideas around the country. That includes, he said, his continuing (and widely debunked) effort to prove that former President Barack Obama’s birth certificate is fake.
My father used to say that there are some people "too mean to die."
Whenever I think of Arpaio that quote comes to mind.
It's like at 85 years old it is only pure hate that keeps him ticking.
He is a vile POS so it is no surprise that Donald Trump went out of his way to rescue him from a prison sentence.

Our long national nightmare is over as Sheriff Arpaio "proves" that President Obama's birth certificate is a fake.
Courtesy of AZ Central:FOR ALL YOU OBAMA LOVERS!— Jack (@risetoflyy) December 16, 2016
Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Probe proves Obama birth certificate is fake https://t.co/MlgucGspXF
At 4 p.m. sharp, Arpaio and a member of his Sheriff's Office's Cold Case Posse had a message for the 40-odd journalists in attendance: You were wrong.
Arpaio and his aides announced that a five-year probe had proved that Obama’s birth certificate from Hawaii in 1961 was, in fact, a forgery.
The news conference opened with a spokesman criticizing members of the media for critical coverage of the investigation. He then turned the stage over to Arpaio, who said he hoped to enlighten the public with information on this “fake, fake birth certificate.”
Arpaio insisted that the investigation was not linked to his legal conflicts with the Obama administration; it was about the allegation of a forged document.
“Think of it. We were trying to clear the president,” he said, adding, “It didn’t work out that way.”
Oh the renowned racist who has been at war with the Obama Administration for years was only trying to "clear" the President. And it has nothing to do with his legal battles.
Okay sure.
It should be noted that this makes the third press conference that Arpaio has called during whihc he claimed to have proof that President Obama was not born in this country.
Those were back in 2012, and Snopes made short work of those allegations.
I listened to the actual presentation, and have to admit I have virtually NO idea what in the hell they are talking about. Though that is certainly not stopping the conservative news sites from rubbing themselves raw over this "revelation."
However I will say this.
The Right Wing has been trying to delegitimize Obama's presidency since before he even took office, and they have attacked him and his administration from virtually every angle imaginable. So does ANYBODY really think that some podunk sheriff in some dusty corner of Arizona really found something that even the Republican party and Donald Trump with all of his billions could not find?

Politico tracks down the person responsible for the "Birther" movement, and no it was not Hillary Clinton.
![]() |
Andy Martin, self proclaimed "King of the Birthers." |
After years of denying the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s presidency, it was only in the midst of his own presidential campaign that Donald Trump began falsely claiming Hillary Clinton was the true progenitor of the “birther” conspiracy theory claiming Obama was not born in the United States.
But that’s swapping one discredited claim for another. Numerous fact checks, reports and interviews — in 2008 and 2011, when Trump revived the controversy — revealed that although some Clinton supporters circulated rumors about Obama’s citizenship, the campaign and Clinton herself never trafficked in it.
“There has never been evidence that Clinton or her campaign started the birther rumors,” said Ben Smith, editor in chief of BuzzFeed, who as a POLITICO reporter in 2011 linked the origin of the “birther” movement to a fringe politician in Illinois. Some hardcore Clinton backers circulated the rumors in 2008, but the campaign itself steered clear.
“As we reported, some of her supporters flirted with the idea in 2008 — but it has its origins in the fever swamps beginning in Illinois in 2004,” he said.
In fact, birtherism, as it’s been called, reportedly began with innuendo by serial Illinois political candidate Andy Martin, who painted Obama as a closet Muslim in 2004. That spiraled into a concerted effort by conspiracy theorists to raise doubts about Obama’s birthplace and religion — and essentially paint him as un-American.
In fact Martin was so proud of his attempts to question the legitimacy of the Obama presidency, that he referred to himself as "The King of the Birthers."
But ultimately it really doesn't matter.
Even IF the birther thing had been started with the Clinton 2008 campaign, which it was not, the fact remains that it was Donald Trump that pushed it into the national spotlight, and Donald Trump who refused to accept the legitimacy of Obama's birth certificate even years after it was produced for the media.
So for Trump to attempt to blame all of this on Hillary is incredibly pathetic and indicative of a man who simply lacks the character to take responsibility for his actions and his mistakes.

Donald Trump wants to put the whole "birther" thing behind him but here are some of his tweets AFTER President Obama produced his long form birth certificate which prove that should not be allowed.
The following are courtesy of Slate:
And it is also clear that Trump never saw anything since that release which convinced him that Obama was born in Hawaii and not Kenya.
So what convinced him yesterday that Obama was born in America?
Or was he lying all the time about not being convinced?
That is certainly what Senator Elizabeth Warren thinks.
It is actually hard to determine which one of those is true, however it would seem that both are disqualifying.
Let's take a closer look at that birth certificate. @BarackObama was described in 2003 as being "born in Kenya." http://t.co/vfqJesJL— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 18, 2012

And that is just it, either the guy is a conspiracy chasing buffoon who is easily manipulated by Right Wing "news" sites, or he is a lying POS who purposely faked this whole thing just to attract the lunatics and tin foil hat wearers that now make up the base of his support.Let's be clear: @realDonaldTrump just admitted that he peddled fake conspiracy theories to attack the integrity of @POTUS.— Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) September 16, 2016

Bristol Palin caves on daughter's name change. Dakota Meyer's name now added to birth certificate.
Courtesy of People:
Bristol Palin has agreed to her ex-fiancé Dakota Meyer's court petition to have their 4-month-old daughter's last name changed from Palin to Meyer.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE Palin and Meyer's daughter's name is listed as Sailor Grace Palin on her birth certificate, and will now be legally changed to Sailor Grace Palin Meyer. Meyer is also now listed on the baby's birth certificate.
Palin's lawyer told PEOPLE in a statement: "Bristol consented to the change of name some time ago," adding that both Palin and Meyer are "talking directly and just being parents without involving the lawyers."
They are "talking directly and just being parents without involving the lawyers." Really? Because Dakota Meyer filed for his name change in court, which ABSOLUTELY involved lawyers.
And in fact it was her "not involved" lawyer who gave that statement to the press.
I kind of want to see this as a win for Dakota, and give him credit for keeping all of this in view of the public because THAT is what keeps the Palins from screwing with you.
But what bothers me is that birth certificate. If Dakota was the father, and Bristol KNEW that, why was his name not already on the birth certificate?
The reason of course is because he either refused to sign an Acknowledgement of Paternity, or he was never asked to sign one.
So one would hope that the DNA test that Bristol's lawyers claimed proved he was the father by a percentage of 99.9957, were indeed accurate.
Because if not Dakota Meyer has just become the latest victim in a long line of people victimized by the Palin family. Actually it could be argued that such is the case even if he is the father.

Well it's a good thing that Bristol Palin does not live in Illinois.
Courtesy of Bipartisan Report:
Republican representatives John D Cavaletto and Keith Wheeler sponsored the bill that would amend the state’s Vital Records Act. Here is the bill’s draconian thrust:
‘…provides that if the unmarried mother cannot or refuses to name the child’s father, either a father must be conclusively established by DNA evidence or, within 30 days after birth, another family member who will financially provide for the child must be named, in court, on the birth certificate.’
‘Provides that absent DNA evidence or a family member’s name, a birth certificate will not be issued and the mother will be ineligible for financial aid from the State for support of the child.’
This the kind of thing that might actually keep Bristol from throwing her panties at every Tom, Joey, and Dakota.
However on the serious side this is an extremely punitive bill that would place a victim of rape, or incest, in a terrible situation.
And there is NO reason to punish a child for a situation that is clearly no fault of their own.
Just another bill written by men to punish women, and their children, while letting the man get off scott free, if he makes his escape quickly enough that is.

Question of Ted Cruz's eligibility to be President headed to court. Awkward!
Courtesy of Vox:
The Circuit Court of Cook County in Chicago has agreed to hear a lawsuit on Sen. Ted Cruz's eligibility for president — virtually ensuring that the issue dominates the news in the run-up to the South Carolina primary.
Cruz was born in Canada to a US citizen mother and a noncitizen father. The Constitution requires presidents be "natural-born citizens," but what exactly that requires hasn't been settled in court.
When this question initially came up, the conventional wisdom among constitutional lawyers was that it was a non-issue: Cruz was obviously eligible. But as the debate has heated up among candidates (with Donald Trump, in particular, fanning the flames), it's also begun to heat up among constitutional law scholars.
The problem is the Constitution doesn't define "natural born Citizen." Neither does any current law. And no one has ever brought a court case to decisively settle the question as a matter of US law.
Until now that is.
Okay we all have to admit at this point that this is the MOST entertaining presidential election in perhaps the entire history of the country.
Just when you think it just can't get any crazier, it does!

President Obama demonstrates that Republicans are becoming a punchline even outside of America.
Courtesy of Politicususa:
Part of what makes this a special evening for me is the presence of my family members who are here. My grandmother, Mama Sarah, who told me I had to come back to Kenya. And when she says you should do something, generally you have to do it. I’ve told this story before — the first time that I visited Kogelo, Auma and I and my brothers were there. Mama Sarah speaks Swahili and Luo, and I speak neither –and so Auma was serving as a translator. And I think about a half a day had passed before suddenly she turns to Auma and says something. And Auma starts laughing, and I say, what did she say? She says, he goes to Harvard; if he’s so smart, how come he can’t talk to his grandmother? Which was a good point.
My siblings are here, aunts, uncles. And so, tonight, I welcome all of them to a somewhat unusual Obama family reunion. I suspect that some of my critics back home are suggesting that I’m back here to look for my birth certificate. That is not the case.
Did you hear that laughter in response to that joke?
If your claim that President Obama was born in Kenya, is even uproariously funny to Kenyans, I think that is all you have to know about its validity.
And somewhat (But not really.) off topic, is Donald Trump still leading in the polls for the Republican nomination?

Donald Trump refuses requests to release his birth certificate. Can you say "hypocrisy?"
Courtesy of the Guardian:
Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has refused to release his long-form birth certificate and passport records, despite demanding the same from Barack Obama during the 2012 election.
The Guardian contacted the Trump campaign to request the birth certificate and passport records of the Apprentice host, but a spokeswoman refused to share the documents.
In October 2012, Trump, a prominent figure in the “birther movement” – a loose affiliation of people who claimed Obama was born outside the US – accused Obama of being “the least transparent president in the history of this country” for refusing to release the very details Trump is now refusing to publish.
Seriously?
Every time I think this guy could not get any more clownish he goes and proves me wrong.

Home schooled daughter of fundamentalist Christian parents cannot prove she is an American citizen.
Courtesy of The Friendly Atheist:
Alecia Faith Pennington grew up in a homeschooling Christian household. As you might expect, her parents don’t like government regulations. We know that freedom can be abused, but I’ve never seen it go this far.
Alecia’s mother Lisa, who runs a website called The Pennington Point, never obtained a birth certificate for her daughter. (She was born at home.) Furthermore, there’s no social security number for Alecia… or school records (since she never attended public school).
Because of that the young woman cannot attend school, get a driver's license, or even prove she is an American citizen.
But hey, at least God knows she exists. Right?

Ted "Rafael" Cruz hires lawyer to file papers renouncing his Canadian citizenship. Well I think we all know what THAT means.
Courtesy of Dallas News:
The junior senator from Texas is still a Canadian. But he’s working on it, eh?
Born in Alberta 43 years ago last Sunday, Sen. Ted Cruz was unaware of his dual nationality until The Dallas Morning News explored the issue in August.
Since then, he said in a recent interview, “I have retained counsel that is preparing the paperwork to renounce the citizenship.”
He expects to complete the process in 2014. That time frame jibes with predictions from Canadian legal experts.
There is literally NO other reason for this dipshit to do this then to prepare the way for his run at the Presidency.
And to that I say, "More power to you Senator Cruz, I hope you win the Republican nomination."
I mean can you for one minute imagine how entertaining it would be to watch Hillary Clinton squash this little cockroach under her shoe?
It would be like watching a political snuff film.
However the best part might be watching the Right Wing dance around the giant pile of hypocrisy they will have to overcome in order to accept Cruz as their candidate after attacking Obama for years concerning their manufactured conspiracy about HIS birth certificate.

Sad little group of Teabaggers, numbering less than 100, hold rally in Washington to give President Obama "one last chance to obey the will of the people." Squeak, said the mouse.
Courtesy of Time Swampland:
Less than 100 Tea Party-affiliated protesters gathered in Lafayette Square on Tuesday to call for Obama’s impeachment, just steps from the White House where President Obama was meeting with members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. “We have been disserved by the so-called leaders of our country for generations,” said Larry Klayman, the chairman of Freedom Watch and leader of the Reclaim America Now Coalition. ““We are giving [Obama] one last chance to obey the will of the American people.”
The Reclaim America Now is a coalition of about 30 conservative groups, including Gun Owners of America, Accuracy in Media and Tea Party Patriots, who stand behind the idea that President Obama and many of our elected leaders are tyrannical and do not govern with their best interests at heart. Outraged over Benghazi, the allegations that the IRS targeted conservative groups, the NSA, and especially Obamacare, ralliers agreed: Obama must go. ”I know a scoundrel when I see one,” said former US congressman Bob Barr, who helped lead the impeachment effort against Bill Clinton in 1998. “We have a scoundrel living in that house right here and we need to get him out.”
Barr, who will run for Congress in Georgia in 2014, also read a revised version of his 1997 inquiry of impeachment with President Obama’s infractions replacing former President Clinton’s. He later told TIME that the purpose of the event was to remind American people that they have the power to stand up to government.
Klayman described the rally as the first day of the second American Revolution. At the event, a George Washington impersonator presented the grievances of the coalition in the form of a repurposed Declaration of Independence. The demands included seeing President Obama’s birth certificate, not George Washington said, the “photocopied version,” repealing the Affordable Care Act, and allowing witnesses from Benghazi to give their accounts. Klayman said that if President Obama does not adhere to their demands by Black Friday, Nov. 29, the day that traditionally marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, the protestors would have no choice but to attempt to force him out of office.
I think this almost exactly meets the dictionary's definition of "insignificant."
Benghazi, Obama's birth certificate, and the so-called IRS targeting of teabaggers? Are these idiots trapped in a time warp or something?
I wonder what it must be like to become increasingly irrelevant as each day comes to a close?
Maybe we should ask Sarah Palin?

Ted Cruz has just learned that he has dual citizenship. In response Donald Trump's hair has wrapped itself around his neck and is trying to strangle him to death. Update!
![]() |
Well fuck me. |
Born in Canada to an American mother, Ted Cruz became an instant U.S. citizen. But under Canadian law, he also became a citizen of that country the moment he was born.
Unless the Texas Republican senator formally renounces that citizenship, he will remain a citizen of both countries, legal experts say.
That means he could assert the right to vote in Canada or even run for Parliament. On a lunch break from the U.S. Senate, he could head to the nearby embassy — the one flying a bright red maple leaf flag — pull out his Calgary, Alberta, birth certificate and obtain a passport.
“He’s a Canadian,” said Toronto lawyer Stephen Green, past chairman of the Canadian Bar Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Section.
The circumstances of Cruz’s birth have fueled a simmering debate over his eligibility to run for president. Knowingly or not, dual citizenship is an apparent if inconvenient truth for the tea party firebrand, who shows every sign he’s angling for the White House.
“Senator Cruz became a U.S. citizen at birth, and he never had to go through a naturalization process after birth to become a U.S. citizen,” said spokeswoman Catherine Frazier. “To our knowledge, he never had Canadian citizenship.”
The U.S. Constitution allows only a “natural born” American citizen to serve as president. Most legal scholars who have studied the question agree that includes an American born overseas to an American parent, such as Cruz.
The Constitution says nothing about would-be presidents born with dual citizenship.
I am just sitting here eating my popcorn and waiting to see how the Teabaggers, who LOVE Ted Cruz, are going to handle this. Because watching them trying to rationalize this, after what they did to President Obama, is going to be very entertaining!
I wonder how President Obama is reacting to the news?
Seems appropriate.
Update: Now Cruz has decided that he needs to renounce his Canadian citizenship:
“Now the Dallas Morning News says that I may technically have dual citizenship,” Cruz said in a statement. “Assuming that is true, then sure, I will renounce any Canadian citizenship. Nothing against Canada, but I’m an American by birth and as a U.S. senator; I believe I should be only an American.”
I am really loving this story, for no other reason than to hear birthers backpedaling like crazy in order to rationalize why THIS is different than their Obama birth certificate witch hunt.
Here is my favorite line from this Washington Post article.
“Given the raft of stories today about my birth certificate, it must be a slow news day,” Cruz said.
Seriously? Somewhere you just know there are Right Wingers whose brains are exploding.

Five previous scandals that were going to destroy President Obama.
![]() |
"Really? They have ANOTHER scandal?" |
Throughout the past week, revelations regarding the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups, the Department of Justice’s decision to subpoena the phone records of over 100 Associated Press journalists, and the Republican Party’s continued obsession with a supposed cover-up in Benghazi have left President Barack Obama on the defensive. As a result, many in the media are speculating that the president has been fatally wounded politically, and Republicans are openly discussing impeachment.
This is not the first time they have predicted Obama’s demise, however. In fact, the president’s four-plus years in office have been littered with “bombshells” that were supposed to destroy his credibility, only to land with a thud when presented to the American public.
After that the author presents the other "career ending" scandals that were heralded by the conservatives as signaling the death knell of this Presidency.
Fast and Furious.
Solyndra.
You Didn't Build That!
Obama's "Other Race Speech."
The Birth Certificate.
"Yeah maybe THOSE did not bring down the Muslim-in-Chief, but SURELY 'Umbrellagate' will finally drive the stake through the heart of this most corrupt Presidency in American history." Said the most ignorant closeted racists in the country.
No I don't think that these sad little conspiracy theories are going to result in impeachment or any significant damage to Obama's presidency, but they WILL continue to drive money into the campaign coffers of various Right Wing politicians so the real problem is that scandals do not have to be true, or even ultimately damaging, in order to have an impact on the politics in America.
I would only hope that for every dollar that goes into Mitch McConnell's campaign fund due to this kind of garbage, that two dollars go into the campaign fund of his opponent from people who are sick and tired of hearing about it ad nauseam.

On last night's Real time Bill Maher took a moment to respond to Donald Trump's lawsuit against him. A must see.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
Maher told Trump he needs to understand two basic concepts: “what a joke is and what a contract is.” He briefly summed up how he got to this point, making it clear it was an obvious joke about Trump. In the middle of the New Rule, Maher exasperatedly said, “Really? We’re going to court about this?” He remarked that Trump was so upset he couldn’t stop “flinging his feces.”
Maher made the pretty obvious point that what he said is defended under free speech laws and said Trump should “just suck it up like everybody else.” Instead, Trump’s lawyer initially sent Maher a letter with the following declaration:
“Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump’s birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan.” Maher asked, “Do these morons even know it’s impossible for people and apes to produce offspring?”
He said this is not a liberal case, but instead a “bold new precedent that jokes on late night talk shows are now legally binding agreements.” Maher tore into Trump and his lawyer by explaining that “the legal system in this country, it’s not a joke, it’s not a toy for rich idiots to play with.”
Maher stuck the knife in even further when he mockingly raised questions about why Trump only released the short-form birth certificate to satisfy those in the “ape-r” movement. Maher concluded by dismissing Trump as “a man who, for a little extra publicity, will happily keep alive a debate over whether his family reunions are held at the zoo.”
Seriously does ANYBODY have ANY respect for Donald Trump anymore?

Mitt Romney panders to the "Birther" crowd. Plucking that low hanging fruit, huh Mittens?
Nice to see he is now taking his cues from Donald Trump.
And of course the ignorant crowd of lily white supporters eats it right up.
I swear we have GOT to do everything we can to keep this asshole out of the White House!
